    Hello Guys! I've two MS SQL tables: Category, Question. Each Question is assigned to exactly one Category. One Category may have many subcategories. Category Id : bigint (PK) Name : nvarchar(255) AcceptQuestions : bit IdParent : bigint (FK) Question Id : bigint (PK) Title : nvarchar(255) ... IdCategory : bigint (FK) How do I recursively count all Questions for a given Category (including questions in subcategories). I've tried it already based on several tutorials but still can't figure it out :(

    I have a countdown timer that will show a target amount to be fundraised like USD1000000 and slowly count backwards to zero over a period of days. I'd like it that a when a user revisits/refreshes the page the counter persists and continues. I've read that javascript cookies can be used for this, just don't know how to implement them, any help?

    Hi i have a huge database, around 1 TB in size, most of the space is consumed by a table which stores images, the tables has right now almost 800k rows. server response time has increased, i would like to know which techniques should i use or you recomend, partitioning? o how to reorganize the table every row is accessed by the image id column, and it has its clustered index by that column, and every two days i reorganize the index and every 7 days i rebuild it, but it seems not to be working any suggestions?

    I have a legacy data base and a relation one-to-one between two tables. The thing is that relation uses two columns, not one. Is there some way to say in nhibernate that when getting a referenced entity it used two columns in join statement, not one? I'm trying to use this: References(x => x.Template) .Columns() .PropertyRef() But can't get how to map join on multiple columns, any ideas?

When not using a transaction and saving changes after each insertion does keep order, but I really need a transaction for all entries.

When the result becoming large, swapping stated. The question is what memory limit is set for a query, a worker, whatever? Could this limit be configured? Thanks.

  • asp.net MVC ActionMethod causing null exception on parameter

    I am trying to add filter functionality that sends a GET request to the same page to filter records in my table. The problem I am having is that the textbox complains about null object reference when a parameter is not passed. For example, when the person first views the page the url is '/mycontroller/myaction/'. Then when they apply a filter and submit the form it should be something like 'mycontroller/myaction?name=...' Obviously the problem stems from when the name value has not been passed (null) it is still trying to be bound to the 'name' textbox. Any suggestions on what I should do regarding this problem?     OK so I've got 2 tables for this instance, Users{UserID, Name}, Company{CompanyID, UserID, Name, Payrate} i also have 2 combo boxes, first one is for Users which Displays Name, and the Value is UserID i need the second combobox to get the Names from the Company table, but only showing Companies that are relevant to the selected user. I cant work out how to get it to go... Any ideas???

It works quite well and removes the links generated between the defined tags. My problem: Pages that also include JavaScript do not operate correctly. JavaScript appears to be disabled or not functioning. What can I change to ensure JavaScript still operates correctly, or is there another method I could adopt?

Is there any change in the code I can use to solve this or is it a browser side problem?

  • .NET MVC: How to fix Visual Studio's lack of awareness of CSS classes in partial views?

    Hi all, This has been sort of an annoyance for me for a while. I make pretty heavy use of partial views in MVC, and am using Visual Studio 2008 to develop. The problem is that when I give html elements a class in a partial view (<div class="someClass">), it will underline them in green like it doesn't know what they are. I realize this is because I'm in a partial view, and haven't put link tags anywhere in that file for it to know where the CSS is (the link tags are in the main view that renders the partial view). The CSS still works fine on my site because the browser will render all views as one long html page anyway, but it's really annoying to look through my partial views and see all of my classes underlined in green. Is there a way that I can still tell Visual Studio that those classes exist somewhere, from the partial view? I figured there has to be a way to let it know, but am not sure what it is. Maybe a way to import the stylesheets from the parent view? Thanks for your help.

The new stuff: <h:form id="paymentForm"> <h:panelGroup> <h:inputText id="param1" value="#{facesView.param1}" ></h:inputText> <h:inputText id="param1" value="#{facesView.param2}" ></h:inputText> <h:panelGroup> <h:commandLink>Submit</h:commandLink> </h:panelGroup> </h:form> This other new stuff doesn't work. 1.How do I specify to this h:form where to go(like setting action in old html) because I need it to go to a totally new url. 2.how to pass params with POST?   • Virtual audio driver (microphone)

    Hello guys, I want to develop a virtual microphone driver. Please, do not say anything about DirectShow - that's not "the way". I need a solution that will work with any software including Skype and MSN. And DirectShow doesn't fit these requirements. I found AVStream Filter-Centric Simulated Capture Driver (avssamp.sys) in Windows 7 WDK. What I need is an audio part of it. By default it reads avssamp.wav and plays it. But this driver is registered as WDM streaming capture device. And I want it in Audio Capture Device. There are some posts in the web but they are all the same: http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/Development/microsoft.public.development.device.drivers/2005-05/msg00124.html http://www.winvistatips.com/problem-installing-avssamp-audio-capture-sources-category-t184898.html I think registering this filter-driver as audio capture device will make Skype recognize it as a microphone and thefore I will be able to push any PCM file as if it goes from mic.
