• MySQL: Blank row in table after LOAD DATA INFILE

  Hi, I'm uploading a large amount of data from a CSV (I'm doing it via MySQL Workbench): LOAD DATA INFILE 'C:/development/mydoc.csv' INTO TABLE mydatabase.mytable CHARACTER SET utf8 FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"' LINES TERMINATED BY '\r'; However, I'm noticing that it keeps adding an empty line full of nulls/zeros after the last record. I'm guessing it's because of the "LINES TERMINATED" command. However, I need that to load the data in correctly. Is there some way around this / some better SQL to avoid the blank row in the table?   I'm storing a huge set of songs in a MySQL database. This is what I store in the 'songs' table: CREATE TABLE `songs` ( `song_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment, `song_artist` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `song_track` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `song_mix` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `song_title` text NOT NULL, `song_hash` varchar(40) NOT NULL, `song_addtime` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, `song_source` text NOT NULL, `song_file` varchar(255) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`song_id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=1857 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 Now I'd like to keep track of how many plays each song has, and other song-specific data that relates to the song. I don't want to keep adding fields to the 'songs' table for this. How can I store song related data a more efficient way? What's the best practice here?

• DataSetProvider - DataSet to ClientDataSet

  I am trying to take data from a TMSQuery which is connected to my DB and populate a ClientDataSet with some of that data using a DataSetProvider. My problem is that I will need to modify some of this data before it can go into my ClientDataSet. The ClientDataSet has persistent fields that will not match up with the raw DB data. I can't even get a string from the DB into a memo field in ClientDataSet. The ClientDataSet is a part of my data tier so I will need to conform the data from the DB to the ClientDataSet field by field (well most will be able to go right through, but many will require routing and/or conversion). Does anyone have experience with this?

• Reset UITextField's original placeholder text

  I'm adding some user feedback mechanism into my app. The user types some comments into a text field and when that editing is done it updates a UITextView. Then when the user hits the submit button and moves on in the app the user may have need to send more feedback from the same form for a different item. I can reset the other fields and labels in the app to their default values when I hide the view, but not the textField (?). How can I reestablish the placeholder text next time the user accesses this view? Your suggestions are humbly appreciated.

Is it possible with PHP (maybe using some mixture of GROUP_BY and ORDER_BY) to echo the data to the screen in the following format: Gas: abcd qrst 123456789 123789654 abcd.com qrst.com Water: efgh ijkl 987654321 321654987 efgh.com ijkl.com Heat: mnop 321654987 mnop.com The exact format of it isn't important. I just need for the different rows of data to be listed under the appropriate field with none of the fields repeated. I've been trying to figure this out for a while now, but I'm new to PHP and I can't seem to figure out how to do this, if it's even possible, or if there's a better way to organize my data to make it easier.

  Hello, I am currently designing a low level network serialization protocol (in fact, a refinement of an existing protocol). As the work progress, pen and paper documents start to show their limits: i have tons of papers, new and outdated merged together, etc... And i can't show anything to anyone since i describe the protocol using my own notation (a mix of flow chart & C structures). I need a software that would help me to design a network protocol. I should be able to create structures, fields, their sizes, their layout, etc... and the software would generate some nice UMLish diagrams.

• JSF hiding exceptions?

  I have a managed bean for a JSF page which is doing JPA calls in the constructor to populate fields in the bean. I'm having a bit of trouble with another call to persist an entity (to populate data for testing). I'm expecting it to throw some sort of exception since it's not working, but I'm not getting anything. Just of the heck of it I tried the following: Query newQuery = em.createQuery("Bad Syntax"); List newList = newQuery.getResultList(); I'd expect an IllegalArgumentException here since the query string is completely invalid, but the page still loads and I don't see any exceptions anywhere. Am I right in expecting this exception? If so, why am I not seeing it?

• RESTful web services - best way to return result of an operation?

  I am designing a RESTful API and I would like to know what the most RESTful way is to return details about an operation. E.g. an operation on a resource occurs when some data is POSTed to a URL. HTTP status codes will indicate either success or failure for the operation. But apart from success/failure I need to indicate some other info to the client, such as an ID number. So my question is, should the ID number be returned in an XML document in the response content, or should it be returned in some custom HTTP header fields? Which is more in line with the principles of REST? Or am I free to choose.

I need the error message to set the date format the same as the input. Also my input fields are set with the wrong date format when the error appears. Tried several things, but no luck at this moment. Didn't find a solution or information on symfony it self. I'm using symfony version 1.2.11

I came across Treewalk ( http://ntcanuck.com/ ) and BIND, and decided to use Treewalk as it seemed easier. But it's performance hasn't been satisfactory. Can someone please guide me on how to setup BIND on my standalaone Windows XP 3 system which connects to the internet using PPPOE? (Note: I am aware about OpenDNS / Google / other public DNS servers but do not wish to use them).

• Please suggest some alternative to Drupal

  Drupal propose completely different approach in web development (comparing with RoR like frameworks) and it is extremely good from development speed perspective. For example, it is quite easy to clone 90% of stackoverflow functionality using Drupal. But it has several big drawbacks: it is f''cking slow (100-400 requests per page) db structure very complicated, need at least 2 tables for easy content (entity) type, CCK fields very easy generate tons of new db tables anti-object oriented, rather aspect-oriented bad "view" layer implementation, no strange forward layouts and so on. After all this items I can say I like Drupal, but I would like something same, but more elegant and more object oriented. Probably something like http://drupy.net/ - drupal emulation on the top of django. P.S. I wrote this question not for new holy word flame, just write if you know alternative that uses something similar approach.

• Graphical database monitoring tool for debugging

  I would love a tool that in real-time showed changes in a set of predefined tables in a graphical way, for example different colors on fields that has changed value, added records, deleted records etc. I don't want a list of all transactions (like SQL Server Profiler), instead a clever visualized more graphical approach where you can get a great overview if you are just monitoring a few tables. I realize the visualization would be hard if there is a lot of transactions against the database, but with monitoring on a few tables and a single session during debugging it would be possible. Does something like this exist? I think it would be great for debugging! Preferably for SQL Server and/or MySQL.

• Is there a good reflection library available for Scala?

  I'm working on a library that needs reflection, and needs Scala-specific information as opposed to what is available via the standard Java reflection API. Right now I'm using the undocumented code in scalap (the Scala equivalent to javap) and trying to associate the data it provides with Java reflection objects so that I can call methods and such (scalap just parses class files). I found this but there's nothing there... https://github.com/dubochet/scala-reflection ...and I've searched the Scala SVN repo for traces of it and failed to find it there, either (but it could be I just missed it). Does anyone know of a Scala reflection library that provides information similar to what scalap provides but also allows you to call methods, access fields, etc like the Java reflection library?

  Hey, I would like to create a SDP media field with its attributes, and there are a few things I don't understand. I've skimmed and read the relevant RFC and I understand most of what each field means, but what I don't understand is how do I derive from the Audio/Video Format of the JMF, which parameters of the format compose the rtpmap registry entries I need to use. I see many times the fields m=audio 12548 RTP/AVP 0 8 101 a=rtpmap:0 PCMU/8000 a=rtpmap:8 PCMA/8000 a=rtpmap:101 telephone-event/8000 a=fmtp:101 0-16 a=silenceSupp:off - - - - a=ptime:20 a=sendrecv these are received from the pbx server I'm connecting to, what do they mean in the terms of the JMF audio format properties.   How do you determine whether the content for the detail page being displayed is filled by a specific subreport? For example, consider two subreports on the same master report, using different detail bands: Detail 1 Detail 2 The header on the master report should show certain fields on pages where the subreport in the Detail 2 band is printed. A Return Value from the subreport in the Detail 2 band only seems to be set after the report has finished, even though the Reset type for the variable (in both the master and the subreport) is set to Page. (Setting it to Report also does not help.)

  I have a login form for my website. This login form have two text fields, username and password. Currently I am placing labels(username, password) just before textfields. But now I want to removed these two labels and want to show text(username, password) inside textfield. When user focuses on these textfields then texts should be removed and user can enter his desired username and password. I have also noticed that when user open a login form then font color of text(username, password) populated in textfield(username, password) is of diffent color and when user start typing in that field then previous text is removed and new font color is black. • how to run javascript from c# code ?

  I have a webrequest that returns a html response which has form inside with hidden fields with some javascript that submits the form automatically on pageload ( if this was run in a browser). If I save this file as *.html and run this file in browser , the java script code automatically posts the form and the output is excel file. I want to be able to generate this file from a c# code which is not running in broswer. I tried mocking thr form post but its complicated and has various scenarios based on the original webrequest querystring. any pointers.... i know its not possible to probably run JS code that posts the form - from within c# code but still thought of chekcing if someone has done that.
