  • Managing a test iSCSI target server

    - by dyasny
    Hi all, I am using a RHEL server with a few hard drives, and tgtd as the iscsi target software. I a looking for a way to allocate and deallocate space and targets with that space, without restarting my system, or harming other LUNs. Currently, all my HDDs are PVs in a single VG, and I lvcreate/lvremove as required, and then export the allocated LVs using a tgt script: usr/sbin/tgtadm --lld iscsi --op new --mode target --tid=1 --targetname iqn.2001-04.com.lab.gss:300gb /usr/sbin/tgtadm --lld iscsi --op new --mode logicalunit --tid 1 --lun 1 -b /dev/mapper/iscsi_vg-iscsi_300Gb /usr/sbin/tgtadm --lld iscsi --op bind --mode target --tid 1 -I ALL /usr/sbin/tgtadm --lld iscsi --op new --mode target --tid=2 --targetname iqn.2001-04.com.lab.gss:200gb /usr/sbin/tgtadm --lld iscsi --op new --mode logicalunit --tid 2 --lun 1 -b /dev/mapper/iscsi_vg-iscsi_200Gb /usr/sbin/tgtadm --lld iscsi --op bind --mode target --tid 2 -I ALL /usr/sbin/tgtadm --lld iscsi --op new --mode target --tid=3 --targetname iqn.2001-04.com.lab.gss:100gb /usr/sbin/tgtadm --lld iscsi --op new --mode logicalunit --tid 3 --lun 1 -b /dev/mapper/iscsi_vg-iscsi_100Gb /usr/sbin/tgtadm --lld iscsi --op bind --mode target --tid 3 -I ALL tgtadm --mode target --op show So in order to remove a LUN, I stop the tgtd service, lvremove the lv, and remove the entry from the iscsi target script When I add a lun, I run lvcreate, and then add an entry to the script and run it. This is not quite optimal, since restarting the service is a bad idea while other LUNs are busy, so I am looking for a more scalable and safer way. Thanks

  • I am unable to run a client/server program in php

    - by sibi
    This is the program I am trying to run: $host = "127.0.0.1"; $port = 25003; // don't timeout! set_time_limit(0); // create socket $socket = socket_create(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 0) or die("Could not create socket\n"); // bind socket to port $result = socket_bind($socket, $host, $port) or die("Could not bind to socket\n"); // start listening for connections $result = socket_listen($socket, 3) or die("Could not set up socket listener\n"); // accept incoming connections // spawn another socket to handle communication $spawn = socket_accept($socket) or die("Could not accept incoming connection\n"); // read client input $input = socket_read($spawn, 1024) or die("Could not read input\n"); // clean up input string $input = trim($input); echo "Client Message : ".$input; // reverse client input and send back $output = strrev($input) . "\n"; socket_write($spawn, $output, strlen ($output)) or die("Could not write output\n"); // close sockets socket_close($spawn); socket_close($socket); I enabled the PHP_socket option in WAMP but still I keep getting errors like unable to bind. Can someone please help me out?

  • Binding to LDAPS using PHP failing

    - by Sean
    We've finally set-up our server to accept ldap SSL connections thanks to another question answered by a helpful member. Our problem now is that when attempting to bind to ldap using the below simple PHP script, we constantly fail. Binding using ldap instead of ldaps works just fine using the script so I know the ldap is enabled. The catcher is that while using LDP.exe, we can successfully connect and bind to ldap on port 636 using a secure connection. The script we are failing with is below: <?php $ldap = ldap_connect("ldaps://localhost"); $username="user"; $password="pass"; if($bind = ldap_bind($ldap, $username,$password )) echo "logged in"; else echo "fail"; echo "<br/>done"; ?> We've also attempted inputting the username as "user@domain" or "domain/user" with no success. It seems I'm forever having LDAP/Cert questions. Our environment is Server 2008.

    I setup bind-dlz and need mysql start prior NAMED when system starts here is what I have [root@semenov]# ./test.sh mysql 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off named 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 15 Apr 15 18:57 /etc/rc3.d/S93mysql -> ../init.d/mysql lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 15 Apr 15 18:57 /etc/rc3.d/S90named -> ../init.d/named here is what I have in mysql init script # Comments to support chkconfig on RedHat Linux # chkconfig: 2345 84 16 # description: A very fast and reliable SQL database engine. # Comments to support LSB init script conventions ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: mysql # Required-Start: $local_fs $network $remote_fs # Should-Start: ypbind nscd ldap ntpd xntpd # Required-Stop: $local_fs $network $remote_fs # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 # Default-Stop: 0 1 6 # Short-Description: start and stop MySQL # Description: MySQL is a very fast and reliable SQL database engine. ### END INIT INFO so when I remove named from chkconfig and have there just mysql, it starts with order number 84: /etc/rc3.d/S84mysql - ../init.d/mysql but when I add named inside chkconfig it's order changes to 93: /etc/rc3.d/S93mysql - ../init.d/mysql as a result mysql will be starting after named and named will fail (no sql available) any ideas what I'm doing wrong? here is what I have in named init script # chkconfig: 345 90 16 # description: named (BIND) is a Domain Name Server (DNS) \ # that is used to resolve host names to IP addresses. # probe: true ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: $named # Required-Start: $local_fs $network $syslog # Required-Stop: $local_fs $network $syslog # Default-Start:2 3 4 # Default-Stop: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 # Short-Description: start|stop|status|restart|try-restart|reload|force-reload DNS server # Description: control ISC BIND implementation of DNS server ### END INIT INFO thanks, Dmitry

  • Understanding and Implementing a Force based graph layout algorithm

    - by zcourts
    I'm trying to implement a force base graph layout algorithm, based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Force-based_algorithms_(graph_drawing) My first attempt didn't work so I looked at http://blog.ivank.net/force-based-graph-drawing-in-javascript.html and https://github.com/dhotson/springy I changed my implementation based on what I thought I understood from those two but I haven't managed to get it right and I'm hoping someone can help? JavaScript isn't my strong point so be gentle... If you're wondering why write my own. In reality I have no real reason to write my own I'm just trying to understand how the algorithm is implemented. Especially in my first link, that demo is brilliant. This is what I've come up with //support function.bind - https://developer.mozilla.org/en/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Function/bind#Compatibility if (!Function.prototype.bind) { Function.prototype.bind = function (oThis) { if (typeof this !== "function") { // closest thing possible to the ECMAScript 5 internal IsCallable function throw new TypeError("Function.prototype.bind - what is trying to be bound is not callable"); } var aArgs = Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments, 1), fToBind = this, fNOP = function () {}, fBound = function () { return fToBind.apply(this instanceof fNOP ? this : oThis || window, aArgs.concat(Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments))); }; fNOP.prototype = this.prototype; fBound.prototype = new fNOP(); return fBound; }; } (function() { var lastTime = 0; var vendors = ['ms', 'moz', 'webkit', 'o']; for(var x = 0; x < vendors.length && !window.requestAnimationFrame; ++x) { window.requestAnimationFrame = window[vendors[x]+'RequestAnimationFrame']; window.cancelAnimationFrame = window[vendors[x]+'CancelAnimationFrame'] || window[vendors[x]+'CancelRequestAnimationFrame']; } if (!window.requestAnimationFrame) window.requestAnimationFrame = function(callback, element) { var currTime = new Date().getTime(); var timeToCall = Math.max(0, 16 - (currTime - lastTime)); var id = window.setTimeout(function() { callback(currTime + timeToCall); }, timeToCall); lastTime = currTime + timeToCall; return id; }; if (!window.cancelAnimationFrame) window.cancelAnimationFrame = function(id) { clearTimeout(id); }; }()); function Graph(o){ this.options=o; this.vertices={}; this.edges={};//form {vertexID:{edgeID:edge}} } /** *Adds an edge to the graph.   • WPF Binding Syntax Question

    - by Gurdas Nijor
    I've seen this syntax show up, and have tried to google for it's definition to no avail; what does it mean when a dp is bound this way? <Grid> <ContentControl Content="{Binding}"/> </Grid> I was under the assumption that you have to bind to some property on the DataContext, or another element, but this appears to bind to nothing.

  • MVVM Binding to Properties.Settings

    - by LnDCobra
    In a MVVM approach how would I go about binding to Properties.Settings? Is there a way to bind a property in C# code(in the ViewModel) to another property(Properties.Settings.Default) or should i just bind to standard properties and on save make sure each property gets propogated manually to the Properties.Settings?

  • Can I force JAXB not to convert " into &quot;, for example, when marshalling to XML?

    - by Elliot
    I have an Object that is being marshalled to XML using JAXB. One element contains a String that includes quotes ("). The resulting XML has &quot; where the " existed. Even though this is normally preferred, I need my output to match a legacy system. How do I force JAXB to NOT convert the HTML entities? -- Thank you for the replies. However, I never see the handler escape() called. Can you take a look and see what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! package org.dc.model; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.Writer; import javax.xml.bind.JAXBContext; import javax.xml.bind.JAXBException; import javax.xml.bind.Marshaller; import org.dc.generated.Shiporder; import com.sun.xml.internal.bind.marshaller.CharacterEscapeHandler; public class PleaseWork { public void prettyPlease() throws JAXBException { Shiporder shipOrder = new Shiporder(); shipOrder.setOrderid("Order's ID"); shipOrder.setOrderperson("The woman said, \"How ya doin & stuff?\""); JAXBContext context = JAXBContext.newInstance("org.dc.generated"); Marshaller marshaller = context.createMarshaller(); marshaller.setProperty(Marshaller.JAXB_FORMATTED_OUTPUT, Boolean.TRUE); marshaller.setProperty(CharacterEscapeHandler.class.getName(), new CharacterEscapeHandler() { @Override public void escape(char[] ch, int start, int length, boolean isAttVal, Writer out) throws IOException { out.write("Called escape for characters = " + ch.toString()); } }); marshaller.marshal(shipOrder, System.out); } public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { new PleaseWork().prettyPlease(); } } -- The output is this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> <shiporder orderid="Order's ID"> <orderperson>The woman said, &quot;How ya doin &amp; stuff?&quot;</orderperson> </shiporder> and as you can see, the callback is never displayed. (Once I get the callback being called, I'll worry about having it actually do what I want.) --

  • Current Date in Silverlight XAML TextBlock

    - by user292110
    I am coming from Flex where you can do just about anything inside of curly braces. I am trying to get a TextBlock to display today's Date and Time without just coding it in C#. I have tried many different variations of the following with no luck. TextBlock Text="{Source=Date, Path=Now, StringFormat='dd/MM/yyyy'}" I know I could probably just set a property MyDate and bind to that but why can't I bind directly to the DateTime.Now property?

    It's possible to implement INotifyCollectionChanged or other interface like IObservable to enable to bind filtered data from xml file on this file changed ? I see examples with properties or collection, but what with files changes ? I have that code to filter and bind xml data to list box: XmlDocument channelsDoc = new XmlDocument(); channelsDoc.Load("RssChannels.xml"); XmlNodeList channelsList = channelsDoc.GetElementsByTagName("channel"); this.RssChannelsListBox.DataContext = channelsList;

    We use jquery and requirejs to create a 'viewmodel' like this: define('vm.inkoopfactuurAanleveren', ['jquery', 'underscore', 'ko', 'datacontext', 'router', 'messenger', 'config', 'store'], function ($, _, ko, datacontext, router, messenger, config, store) { var isBusy = false, isRefreshing = false, inkoopFactuur = { factuurNummer: ko.observable("AAA") }, activate = function (routeData, callback) { messenger.publish.viewModelActivated({ canleaveCallback: canLeave }); getNewInkoopFactuurAanleveren(callback); var restricteduploader = new qq.FineUploader({ element: $('#restricted-fine-uploader')[0], request: { endpoint: 'api/InkoopFactuurAanleveren', forceMultipart: true }, multiple: false, failedUploadTextDisplay: { mode: 'custom', maxChars: 250, responseProperty: 'error', enableTooltip: true }, text: { uploadButton: 'Click or Drop' }, showMessage: function (message) { $('#restricted-fine-uploader').append('<div class="alert alert-error">' + message + '</div>'); }, debug: true, callbacks: { onComplete: function (id, fileName, responseJSON) { var response = responseJSON; }, } }); }, invokeFunctionIfExists = function (callback) { if (_.isFunction(callback)) { callback(); } }, loaded = function (factuur) { inkoopFactuur = factuur; var ids = config.viewIds; ko.applyBindings(this, getView(ids.inkoopfactuurAanleveren)); /*<----- THIS = OUT OF SCOPE!*/ / }, bind = function () { }, saved = function (success) { var s = success; }, saveCmd = ko.asyncCommand({ execute: function (complete) { $.when(datacontext.saveNewInkoopFactuurAanleveren(inkoopFactuur)) .then(saved).always(complete); return; }, canExecute: function (isExecuting) { return true; } }), getView = function (viewName) { return $(viewName).get(0); }, getNewInkoopFactuurAanleveren = function (callback) { if (!isRefreshing) { isRefreshing = true; $.when(datacontext.getNewInkoopFactuurAanleveren(dataOptions(true))).then(loaded).always(invokeFunctionIfExists(callback)); isRefreshing = false; } }, dataOptions = function (force) { return { results: inkoopFactuur, // filter: sessionFilter, //sortFunction: sort.sessionSort, forceRefresh: force }; }, canLeave = function () { return true; }, forceRefreshCmd = ko.asyncCommand({ execute: function (complete) { //$.when(datacontext.sessions.getSessionsAndAttendance(dataOptions(true))) // .always(complete); complete; } }), init = function () { // activate(); // Bind jQuery delegated events //eventDelegates.sessionsListItem(gotoDetails); //eventDelegates.sessionsFavorite(saveFavorite); // Subscribe to specific changes of observables //addFilterSubscriptions(); }; init(); return { activate: activate, canLeave: canLeave, inkoopFactuur: inkoopFactuur, saveCmd: saveCmd, forceRefreshCmd: forceRefreshCmd, bind: bind, invokeFunctionIfExists: invokeFunctionIfExists }; }); On the line ko.applyBindings(this, getView(ids.inkoopfactuurAanleveren)); in the 'loaded' method the 'this' keyword doens't refer to the 'viewmodel' object. the 'self' keyword seems to refer to a combination on methods found over multiple 'viewmodels'. The saveCmd property is bound through knockout, but gives an error since it cannot be found. How can the ko.applyBindings get the right reference to the viewmodel? In other words, with what do we need to replace the 'this' keyword int he applyBindings. I would imagine you can 'ask' requirejs to give us the ealiers instantiated object with identifier 'vm.inkoopfactuurAanleveren' but I cannot figure out how.

  • Debugging in XCode as root

    - by Anton
    In my program I need to create sockets and bind them to listen HTTP port (80). The program works fine when I launch it from command line with sudo, escalating permissions to root. Running under XCode gives a 'permission denied' error on the call to binding function (asio::ip::tcp::acceptor::bind()). How can I do debugging under XCode? All done in C++ and boost.asio on Mac OS X 10.5 with XCode 3.1.2.

  • To know is the object already retrieved in inject

    - by zerkms
    Is it possible to know that particular dependency already has been satisfied by ninject kernel? To be clear: Let's suppose we have this module: Bind<IA>().To<A>(); Bind<IB>().To<B>(); And some "client"-code: var a = kernel.Get<IA>(); // how to get here "true" for assumption: "IA was requested (once)" // and "false" for: "IB was not requested ever"

  • ruby socket dgram example

    - by Bub Bradlee
    I'm trying to use unix sockets and SOCK_DGRAM in ruby, but am having a really hard time figuring out how to do it. So far, I've been trying things like this: sock_path = 'test.socket' s1 = Socket.new(Socket::AF_UNIX, Socket::SOCK_DGRAM, 0) s1.bind(Socket.pack_sockaddr_un(sock_path)) s2 = Socket.new(Socket::AF_UNIX, Socket::SOCK_DGRAM, 0) s2.bind(Socket.pack_sockaddr_un(sock_path)) s1.send("HELLO") s2.recv(5) # should equal "HELLO" Does anybody have experience with this?

  • Why am I getting null object reference error when saving (OnItemUpdating event) the first edit item

    - by craigmoliver
    I'm getting the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." when trying to reference a HiddenField (lvEditProjectSteps_hdnStepStatusId for future reference) from the EditItem during the OnItemUpdating event after the Update event fires in a ListView. This only occurs on the FIRST item in the ListView. I checked the source and the HTML is being rendered properly. ANY insight is appreciated! Thanks in advance...
