  • Powerpoint 2010 crash on quickstyle menu

    Windows 7 64-bit, recent install, added Office 2010. When I create some boxes and open the quick-style menu, it crashes (or stops responding, in windowese, and then it sends an error report). I've run the "Repair" from the installer, but it didn't help. There's nothing in Windows Update I've Googled and searched on Microsoft's site, but n Any other ideas? (It's not related to this ppt crash question as that concerns PPT 2007.   • Tomcat 6 Windows Server 64 Redirect Connector Fails

    So is there some problem with running the Tomcat connectors under a 64 bit windows OS? Here's my configuration: Windows Server 2003 64 bit Intel Xeon Tomcat 6.0.26 JVM 1.6.0 (64bit) ISAPI Redirect Connector 1.2.30.0 (64 bit) Calling the IP address of the site with :8080 brings up the tomcat page so I know that's running and the examples all work so its obviously not having a problem with the JVM. Calling the site ip on port 80 however gives me error 324 - looking at the application log on windows shows "Could not load all ISAPI filters for site/service. Therefore startup aborted". The ISAPI filter page under the web site properties shows the status of this filter to be down with a red arrow. The ISAPI filter name is jakarta and there is a corresponding virtual directory set up in the root of the site pointing to the same directory as the filter. The jakarta web service extension is also pointing to the required dll (c:\program files\apache software foundation\jakarta isapi redirector\bin\isapi_redirect.dll). Incidentally, this same problem occurs when trying to use Tomcat 5.5. I've also tried swapping out various redirect versions. It's really odd because I got it to work once with a version of the redirector that came with Plesk but I've since uninstalled everything to do with plesk and even trying to use the plesk-compiled dll doesn't work now. I am pulling my hair out on this, any ideas?

  • Making the iPhone work with stripped down Windows XP

    Hi, this is my first time posting here and I have a really specific question. I have an ASUS eee 901 running Windows XP Home. I had everything working well, but then I decided to improve performance by moving Windows to the smaller but faster internal SSD. I used Nlite to strip down Windows, following the instructions here: http://wiki.eeeuser.com/howto:nlitexp I now have a very lightweight installation of XP home with SP3 and all the current updates. Almost everything is working really well. I have installed iTunes and I CAN sync with no problems. However, each time I plug in my iPhone 3GS (latest firmware), Windows tries and fails to install drivers. The Found New Hardware Wizard launches, but nothing I do will make it complete successfully, with the result that the iphone does not show up in Windows as removable storage, or as a camera. When I launch the Camera and Scanner Wizard, it shows only my webcam, not the iphone. I have verified that I have the following files in place: Windows\System32\ptpusb.dll (regsvr32 successful) Windows\System32\ptpusd.dll (entry point not found, can not be registered) Windows\System32\usbaaplrc.dll (entry point not found, can not be registered) Windows\System32\drivers\usbaapl.sys Windows\System32\drivers\usbscan.sys Windows\System32\drivers\usbstor.sys Does anyone know if some other file is required or if there's some other element preventing this from working? Edit (From posted answer) I did select Cameras & Camcorders, and my webcam is working fine for video & still capture.

    Hi, We installed a clustered SQL 2005 installation on windows 2008 and reattached our san drives from another machine and restored to do a migration to new hardware. There have been a few minor issues, but this one has me stuck. Trying to populate Full-Text indexes is not working.   • After reinstallation, Disk Cleanup disappears when I click OK.

    After I reinstalled Windows 7, Disk Cleanup stopped working. I can start Disk Cleanup and select the drive to clean, but when I click on the OK button, the window disappears. Any solutions? But a new process - WerFault.exe appeared under svchost.exe a few seconds after i clicked the "OK" button. It disappeared, too, from the process list after some time (i think it disappeared along with cleanmgr.exe).

  • Windows 8, IIS8 how to make PHP imagick work

    I'm new to IIS server before IIS for 6 years I used Apache 2.X and with Apache imageMagick and its PHP module imagick worked just fine even with x64 version of PHP and Apache 2.4 and imageMagick. I tried to make imagick to work with IIS8 but it wont work. I always get the typical PHP startup warning in my log PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\Program Files (x86)\iis express\PHP\v5.4\ext\php_imagick.dll' - %1 is not a valid Win32 application. in Unknown on line 0 And the next thing why is IIS loading php from IIS express folder if I have php in the program files? But actually I dont care until it works :) So what I did so far I unistalled imageMagick 6.7.X 64bit version and installed the latest x86 version, tested it in command line and it worked, than I looked up on net the latest imagick DLL which was I think the 3.1.0RC2 (founded here http://www.peewit.fr/imagick/) than I copied the dll to PHP's ext folder than edited php.ini and added the imagick to the dynamic extensions after that I restarted IIS and than nothing :( I got the error which I wrote earlier. Today I installed PEAR package Installer because I read somewhere that someone made it work with it but he also mentioned, that he needed to comply wincache too. Isn't there any easier solutions to make it work? Could someone maybe write me a step by step guide how to make this work.

  • cannot get mssql working with sql server 2005

    I'm a MySQL/Apache user, trying my hand with IIS and SQL server, so please, if this is a stupid question have patience. I'm using IIS version 7.5. PHP version 5.3.13 and SQL server 2005 IIS is running on port 90, not sure if that will make a difference or not. I know my sql server is running because I can explore/connect to it in Server management studio. I know php is configured properly, because //localhost:90/phpinfo.php works fine. I updated the php_msql.dll extension in phpinfo to: extension=ext/php_msql.dll EDIT- However, when I run phpinfo() under the "configure command" row, this is present: --without-mssql I found/downloaded the ntwdblib.dll and placed it in both sys32 and php root. All these things were supposed to fix the issue, and they haven't. This is the code I'm using, straight from php.net: <?php // Server in the this format: <computer>\<instance name> or // <server>,<port> when using a non default port number $server = 'localhost'; // Connect to MSSQL $link = mssql_connect($server, 'uname', 'pwd'); if (!$link) { die('Something went wrong while connecting to MSSQL'); } ?> obviously I'm using a real username and password, but when I load the file in my browser, I receive a 500 error.   • Remove ActiveRecord in Rails 3 (beta)

    Now that Rails 3 beta is out, I thought I'd have a look at rewriting an app I have just started work on in Rails 3 beta, both to get a feel for it and get a bit of a head-start. The app uses MongoDB and MongoMapper for all of its models nad therefore has no need for ActiveRecord. In the previous version, I am unloading activerecord in the following way: config.frameworks -= [ :active_record ] # inside environment.rb In the latest version this does not work - it just throws an error: /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/railties-3.0.0.beta/lib/rails/configuration.rb:126:in `frameworks': config.frameworks in no longer supported. See the generated config/boot.rb for steps on how to limit the frameworks that will be loaded (RuntimeError) from *snip* Of course, I have looked at the boot.rb as it suggested, but as far as I can see, there is no clue here as to how I might go about unloading AR. The reason I need to do this is because not only is it silly to be loading something I don't want, but it is complaining about its inability to make a DB connection even when I try to run a generator for a controller. This is because I've wiped database.yml and replaced it with connection details for MongoDB in order to use this gist for using database.yml for MongoDB connection details. Not sure why it needs to be able to initiate a DB connection at all just to generate a controller anyway.... Is anyone aware of the correct Rails 3 way of doing this?

Running depends.exe on all three servers gives equal results for the nonR2 servers: My DLL is shown as x86 (compiled as AnyCPU, running in x64 w3wp), all other modules show as x64. Missing IESHIMS.DLL and LINKINFO.DLL - both of these seem to be red herrings according to Google. The third server shows the same, except it does not miss LINKINFO.DLL All servers are running IIS7 (7.5 for the R2 one) under a custom domain account that has been granted the necessary permissions: aspnet_regiis -ga [user] Load user profile is set to false on all three servers. I've tried setting this to true on one of the faulting servers, according to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1846816/iis7-failed-to-grant-minimum-permission-requests By running processmonitor I can see that it's now using the C:\Users\TEMP\AppData\Local\Temp directory for various temp files - the other ones are not using any such directory. So far I'll let it run in this way to see if this changes anything. I'm in doubt however given that the third server is not exhibiting the problems, yet still has "Load user profile" set to the same value, false. I've also tried running Fuslogvw on all three servers, logging binding failures to disk. All three servers report the same binding errors for VJSharpCodeProvider and CppCodeProvider, but these seem to be normal as well and can be solved by not defining the DEBUG and TRACE constants during build. We're running about 500 websites on each server (identical, load balanced), of which 50 are under moderate load, the problem has arisen both under heavy load as well as under minimal load however. Right now I'm waiting for the errors to happen again so I can hopefully see a pattern and determine whether "Load user profile" alleviates the issue. Any suggestions in the meantime would be very welcome! Also, I don't understand how the lack of "Load user profile" would cause an issue like this? And even further, how it would seemingly work on R2 but not on plain 2008? Thanks!

    I am having trouble using impersonation to delete a PerformanceCounterCategory from an MVC website. I have a static class and when the application starts it checks whether or not a PerformanceCounterCategory exists, and if it contains the correct counters. If not, it deletes the category and creates it again with the required counters.     I have migrated a VS2008 ASP.NET MVC solution to VS2010/MVC2/.NET 4.0 The solution builds locally and all unit tests pass. Our TFS server is still TFS2008 and I am having problems getting the CI build to pass. The projects all build successfully, the unit tests all run and pass but the Running Tests item fails.     I am creating a tool in c# to retrieve messages of a CAN-network (network in a car) using an Dll written in C/C++. This dll is usable as a COM-interface. My c#-formclass implements one of these COM-interfaces. And other variables are instantiated using these COM-interfaces (everything works perfect). The problem: The interface my C#-form implements has 3 abstract functions. One of these functions is called -by the dll- and i need to implement it myself. In this function i wish to retrieve a property of a form-wide variable that is of a COM-type. Manually adding libcpmtd.lib (static) or msvcprtd.lib (dll) to the linker doesn't help. Has anyone else seen this?
