    - by Ravi
Hi. I am new to grails and jasper reports. Please help me with the issue. I am trying one example on how to save in excel format the data that we display in grails. I am able to save as excel but not able to get anything inside excel sheet after opening it, not even columns. Refer the link http://www.wysmedia.com/2009/05/dance-with-dynamic-jasper-report/ for the example I am trying. Many thanks.

  • How do I set selection to Nothing when programming Excel using VBA?

    - by Curt
When I create a graph after using range.copy and range.paste it leaves the paste range selected, and then when I create a graph a few lines later, it uses the selection as the first series in the plot. I can delete the series, but is there a more elegant way to do this? I tried Set selection = nothing but it won't let me set selection. I also tried selection.clear, but that just cleared the last cells that were selected, and still added an extra series to the plot. Curt

  • Microsoft Excel; Two conditions have to be true then be counted

    - by Chris Jones
I'm working on a spreadsheet that two conditions have to true in order to be counted. If the month is January, and the number next to it is less than or equal to 30, then it's counted. Same rule applies for all the other months. Thus far, I have: =COUNTIFS(Sheet1!D2:D7,(SUMPRODUCT(--(MONTH(D2:D7)=1))),Sheet1!E2:E7,(COUNTIFS(E2:E7,"<=30"))) For example: Column D Jan 1, 2014 Feb 3, 2014 Feb 16, 2014 Mar 5, 2014 Mar 13, 2014 Mar 29, 2014 Column E 37 25 30 31 1 16 Outcome Jan 0 Feb 2 Mar 2

  • Excel pivot refresh, save and close in Access VBA code

    - by schneidm
I am using the following code to refresh Excel pivot tables from an Access application. What is the best way to save and close the Excel app after the pivots refresh? In my last attempt the code was trying to save and close before the pivots had refreshed. Private Sub Command161_Click() Dim objXL As Object, x On Error Resume Next Set objXL = CreateObject("Excel.Application") With objXL.Application .Visible = True 'Open the Workbook .Workbooks.Open "myfilepath.xls" 'Refresh Pivots x = .ActiveWorkbook.RefreshAll End With Set objXL = Nothing End Sub

  • How can I change my code in Excel 2003 to allow me to paste to multiple cells?

    - by PikeCoAL
Ran in to a little problem. If I try to paste to multiple cells that are in the range in the code below, I get a run time error 13, type mismatch. The cells in the range may have data other than X but I only want the hyperlink to appear if the cell contains X. It works fine if I just type an X in the cell or if I paste to one cell at a time. I will have times when I want to paste other text to mutiple cells in this range. Thanks to Remnant for his help on the original code. This one last hurdle will put me in the clear. Thx. Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Dim rangeLimit As Range Set rangeLimit = Range ("B9:B37,C9:C37,D9:D37,E9:E37,F9:F37,G9:G37,H9:H37,I9:I37,J9:J37,K9:K37,L9:L37,M9:M37") If Not Intersect(rangeLimit, Target) Is Nothing Then If Target = "x" Or Target = "X" Then Target.Hyperlinks.Add Anchor:=Target, Address:="", SubAddress:="Exceptions!A1", TextToDisplay:=Target.Value End If End If End Sub

  • Calling a Add-in function from Excel's VBA

    - by graham
I am using an Excel Add-in for an Erlangs: http://abstractmicro.com/erlang/helppages/ref-erlbblockage.htm I try to call the Erlang-B function within the Add-in from within VBA thus: Function Erl(Erlangs As Double, Capacity As Double) Erl = Application.WorksheetFunction.ErlbBlockage(Capacity, Erlangs) End Function ...but it doesn't work. I get #VALUE! returned in the Excel cell. I think it is because the function is not part of standard Excel (it is in the Add-in). So how do I call it?

  • A Simple C# DLL - how do I call it from Excel, Access, VBA, VB6 ?

    - by divinci
Hi all, I have a simple class library written in c#. using System; namespace TestDll { public class Test { public string HelloWorld { get { return "Hello World"; } } } } My question is how can I call this HelloWorld function from Microsoft Office Visual Basic (which I think is VB6)? My first step was to add the DLL as a reference - but on browsing and selecting the compiled DLL the message "Can't add a reference to the specified file." was thrown. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why/how to get this working? Thanks in advance SO!

  • EXCEL - Locking a Cell from User input whilst allowing a Linked combobox?

    - by Christopher Leach
I have a Protected Worksheet which is a checklist with a series of checkpoints. Each row has Item and Description cells that are locked. Each row has several columns with its contents to be set by a ComboBox and a text input column. Both i have left unlocked. I have Locked the the Item and Description columns and left only the 'Select Unlocked Cells' checked via Sheet Protection. I have one ComboBox on the worksheet that moves around and adjusts its LinkedCell and its Content list using the worksheets SelectionChanged event. When the user selects a cell to bring up the drop down list, the user is able to type into the cell and the Drop Down Box disappears. What is the best way to keep the cell unlocked so it can be selectable(as 'Select Locked Cells" is unchecked) however stop the user from being able to type in the cell and to allow the cells contents to become modifiable only via the ComboBox?

  • Unable to download microsoft excel files from a IIS SSL site

    - by Jeffrey
The web master at my corporation added SSL to the web site and now none of my users can download Microsoft word and xcel files the sites generates. According to Microsoft the following must be down. Web sites that want to allow this type of operation should remove the no-cache header or headers. Typical of MS they don't tell you what to do, how to do it, or what the best practice is. The web master says its a web config setting. But all i can finds is <configuration> <appSettings/> <connectionStrings/> <system.web> <httpRuntime sendCacheControlHeader="false"/> and I don't know if this is the best way to achieve the result. I would greatly appreciate some advice on this subject.

  • How to start with PowerPivot for Excel

    - by Marco Russo (SQLBI)
Now that Office 2010 has been released, many people will start looking for resources to start learning PowerPivot. Of course, the book I’m writing will be helpful when it will be published (September 2010), but you can also start with some online content on Microsoft sites. First of all, this is the web site dedicated to PowerPivot: http://www.powerpivot.com/ It contains several videos and demos and it’s also possible to use a Virtual Lab without installing Office 2010 on your PC. Then, there is...(read more)
