    I am trying to use the CTFramesetterSuggestFrameSizeWithConstraints method of CTFrameSetter to calculate the rect for a given attributed string. However, both the width and height are slightly less than needed. I would appreciate any suggestions on what may be causing this or how to correct it please.

  • Write raw struct contents (bytes) to a file in C. Confused about actual size written

    Basic question, but I expected this struct to occupy 13 bytes of space (1 for the char, 12 for the 3 unsigned ints). Instead, sizeof(ESPR_REL_HEADER) gives me 16 bytes. typedef struct { unsigned char version; unsigned int root_node_num; unsigned int node_size; unsigned int node_count; } ESPR_REL_HEADER; What I'm trying to do is initialize this struct with some values and write the data it contains (the raw bytes) to the start of a file, so that when I open this file I later I can reconstruct this struct and gain some meta data about what the rest of the file contains. I'm initializing the struct and writing it to the file like this: int esprime_write_btree_header(FILE * fp, unsigned int node_size) { ESPR_REL_HEADER header = { .version = 1, .root_node_num = 0, .node_size = node_size, .node_count = 1 }; return fwrite(&header, sizeof(ESPR_REL_HEADER), 1, fp); } Where node_size is currently 4 while I experiment. The file contains the following data after I write the struct to it: -bash$ hexdump test.dat 0000000 01 bf f9 8b 00 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 0000010 I expect it to actually contain: -bash$ hexdump test.dat 0000000 01 00 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 0000010 Excuse the newbiness. I am trying to learn :) How do I efficiently write just the data components of my struct to a file?

  • Eclipse RCP Preferences Dialog Tree Size

    In my RCP application, I'm trying to use the Eclipse preferences dialog. I'm adding extensions to the "org.eclipse.ui.preferencePages" and preparing related IWorkbenchPreferencePage implementations. My preference page names are a bit long, so that they are not totally visible on the left side tree of the preferences dialog. Dragging the sash bar to the right increases the width of this tree, but it is resetted after the program is closed and reopened. Is it possible to increase the default width of this tree?

    I need low-latency audio in my project, and I know Android 2.3 supports OpenSL ES. I have read documents and sample code and I decide to use Android simple buffer queue to do the play and record. I now try to write a simple application to do the test. However, I have some questions about recording. If I set the recorder stop when it is recording, how do I know the exact number of bytes filled in the last buffer if it is not filled up ? In 1.1 version, the callback function has some parameters about buffer and its filled data, but there is no such parameters in version 1.0.1. Is there any way to get this information ? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated !

    I have a function that will parse the results of a DataReader, and I don't know how many items are returned, so I want to use a while..do loop to iterate over the reader, and the outcome should be a list of a certain type. (fun(reader) -> [ while reader.Read() do new CityType(Id=(reader.GetInt32 0), Name=(reader.GetString 1), StateName=(reader.GetString 2)) ]) This is what I tried, but the warning I get is: This expression should have type 'unit', but has type 'CityType'. Use 'ignore' to discard the result of the expression, or 'let' to bind the result to a name. So what is the best way to iterate over a DataReader and create a list?

    I have a old computer , i want to buy a big LCD now the best i can found is Viewsonic's 24" lcd TFT monitor . So will it run without any problems or i need to upgrade the video cards or something too ? The computer is not that much old it has P4 bord and celeron processor with 128 graphics memory . And in properties it shows i can maximum use 1280 x 1024 resolution. I am noob hardware wise So need help on this stuff. Thanks

    I have the following HTML code: <style type="text/css"> .submitbutton{margin-left:-2px} </style> ... <form> ... <input class=submitbutton type=submit value="Create Listings" /> </form> In Firefox, the input button has more padding than in Chrome. Any ideas why? UPDATE: If you're wondering why I have the negative margin - it's because between the input field and the input button - there is too much space.

    Hi, How can I allow SKU be longer than 34 characters (for simple products) for all products? When i add new product(simple) and enter more than 34 characters, Magento cuts it to 34 after saving. In the database the 'sku' attributes ( for quete item,order item,invoice item, shipment item) from eav_attribute table hold varchar(255). For Catalog_Product_Entity the attributed is VarChar(64). In either case, it is more than 34characters. Thus, I could change SKU to 64 characters without making any change in database, correct? How do i do that? I have good understanding of the user side magento code, but not Admin side. Can you suggest me good tutorial on making changes in Admin side that could help me figure this question myself. I am using the following code: UIImage *imageU = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:[[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath] stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"myImage.png"]]; CGFloat imageW = CGImageGetWidth(imageU.CGImage); CGFloat imageH = CGImageGetHeight(imageU.CGImage); My question is that if it is there any other way to know the width and height of an image, in pixels, without having to load the image on a variable, that's probably consuming memory. Can the dimensions be read from the file directly without loading the whole image? thanks.

  • Android: Is decreasing size of .png files have some effect to resulted Bitmap in memory

    I'm writing game with a large amount of .png pictures. All worked fine. Than I added new activity with WebView and got memory shortage. After that I made some experiment - replace game .png images with ones that just fully filled with some color. As result memory shortage had gone. But I suppose that Bitmap internally hold each pixel separately so such changes should have no effect. Maybe this because of initial images have alpha channel and my test images have not it? But actually question is: Will decreasing .png images files sizes make some effect on decreasing usage of VM application heap or not?

    Regular HTML select boxes (such as, e.g. found here), while being "chosen" are presented by the iPhone on a native widget that seems to totally ignore regular html font sizes and whatnot. It does some ellipsing when it goes too long, but the font is way too big for a list I want to present -- even on landscape, only about 35 characters can fit. Is there any way to tell the iPhone to use a smaller font there?

    Hi all, This may well be a little of an open-ended question The site I am working on requires to be optimised for performance. One of the key areas is to optimise the file sizes of the images used upon the site. Unfortunatley these images are being created by employees who do not have the required knowledge for creating images for the web, and it is my job to produce a set of guidelines for them to use. I was wondering whether there was any resource/guidlines/literature regarding typical images file sizes for images of different dimensions - as I would like to include something like this to aid them to ensure their images are being created properly.   • How to determine the width of content or size a container to content

    My goal is to display the entire contents of a FlowDocument (that is, without paginating) in a column layout. It would have a fixed height, but the width would depend on the contents of the FlowDocument. My problem is: FlowDocumentReader does not automatically resize to the contents of the FlowDocument. As you see in my XAML below, FlowDocumentReader.Width is 5000 units (just a large number that can accommodate most documents) -- when I make it Auto, it just clips to the width of the ScrollViewer and paginates my stuff! Is there a proper way of solving this problem?
