Accessing Sub functions /procedures from DPR or other function / procedure in Delphi

Hello, stackoverflowers :) As much I know - Subroutines are with Private access mode to its parent unction / procedure, right? Is there any way to access them from "outer-world" - dpr or other function / procedure in unit? Also - which way takes more calcualtion and space to compiled file? for example: function blablabla(parameter : tparameter) : abcde; procedure xyz(par_ : tpar_); begin // ... end; begin // ... end; procedure albalbalb(param : tparam) : www; begin xyz(par_ : tpar); // is there any way to make this function public / published to access it therefore enabling to call it this way? end; // all text is random. // also, is there way to call it from DPR in this manner? // in C++ this can be done by specifing access mode and/or using "Friend" class .. but in DELPHI?

How to get the parameter names of an object's constructors (reflection)?

Say I somehow got an object reference from an other class: Object myObj = anObject; Now I can get the class of this object: Class objClass = myObj.getClass(); Now, I can get all constructors of this class: Constructor[] constructors = objClass.getConstructors(); Now, I can loop every constructor: if (constructors.length > 0) { for (int i = 0; i < constructors.length; i++) { System.out.println(constructors[i]); } } This is already giving me a good summary of the constructor, for example a constructor public Test(String paramName) is shown as public Test(java.lang.String) Instead of giving me the class type however, I want to get the name of the parameter.. in this case "paramName". How would I do that? I tried the following without success: if (constructors.length > 0) { for (int iCon = 0; iCon < constructors.length; iCon++) { Class[] params = constructors[iCon].getParameterTypes(); if (params.length > 0) { for (int iPar = 0; iPar < params.length; iPar++) { Field fields[] = params[iPar].getDeclaredFields(); for (int iFields = 0; iFields < fields.length; iFields++) { String fieldName = fields[i].getName(); System.out.println(fieldName); } } } } } Unfortunately, this is not giving me the expected result. What i intend to do is get z.php to read a text file called 'sites.txt' which has a list of sites: site1.com/a.php site2.com/b.php site3.com/c.php to execute the urls in the sites in 'sites.txt' i want it to go through siteA.com/z.php?ip=xxx.xxx.xx.xxx&location=UK (z.php will then read 'sites.txt') All sites in the 'sites.txt' file will be executed as site1.com/a.php?ip=xxx.xxx.xx.xxx&location=UK site2.com/b.php?ip=xxx.xxx.xx.xxx&location=UK I hope that makes more sense, i have tried looking around but couldnt find what i was looking for. Hi, I have the following xml object representing a ImageButton <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ImageButton xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/genreCellItemId" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center" android:paddingLeft="5.0dip" android:paddingRight="5.0dip"> </ImageButton> I try to inflate it and add it to a TableRow with the following code : LayoutInflater inflater= this.getLayoutInflater(); TableLayout grid = (TableLayout)findViewById(R.id.bodyTableLayout); TableRow row = (TableRow)inflater.inflate(R.layout.genre_row, null); View myButton = (View)inflater.inflate(R.layout.genre_cell, null); row.addView(tempButton, new TableRow.LayoutParams()); grid.addView(row, new TableLayout.LayoutParams()); Ok so I noticed that it didn't look as expected, so I fire up the Hierarchy Viewere and noticed that the ImageButton's actually have an layout_width = FILL_PARENT instead of WRAP_CONTENT, also the layout_gravity is NONE and there is no padding to be seen... Do, am I inflating it wrongly ? Or is maybe the new TableRow.LayoutParams() part doins omething wrong ?

Const-Qualification of Main's Parameters in C++

The C++ standard mandates that all conforming implementations support the following two signatures for main: int main(); int main(int, char*[]); In case of the latter signature, would the addition of (top-level) const-ness break any language rules? For example: int main(const int argc, char** const argv); From my understanding, top-level const qualification doesn't affect the function's signature hash, so it should be legal as far as the specification is concerned. Also, did anyone ever encounter an implementation which rejected this type of modification?

jquery dialog calls a server side method with button parameters

Hello all, I have a gridview control with delete asp:ImageButton for each row of the grid. What I would like is for a jquery dialog to pop up when a user clicks the delete button to ask if they are sure they want to delete it. So far I have the dialog coming up just fine, Ive got buttons on that dialog and I can make the buttons call server side methods but its getting the dialog to know the ID of the row that the user has selected and then passing that to the server side code. The button in the page row is currently just an 'a' tag with the id 'dialog_link'. Ive thought of lots of different ways of doing this (parameter passing, session variable etc...) but cant figure out how to get any of them working. I have a build.bat file which uses %1 internally... so you might call: build 1.23 I wanted it to read the parameter from a separate file, so I tried putting "1.23" in version.txt and doing: build < version.txt But it doesn't work. Isn't this how piping works? Is what I want possible and if so how?

Detecting and reloading updated application parameters at runtime

I am working on an ASP.NET web application(using .NET 4.5 and C#).The application deals with lot of units (for measuring like KG,Litre,KM etc). So based on the selected unit we have to implement some allowed range.This values can be configured without much effort. We identified two solutions for this Keeping a configuration xml. Suppose the values in xml, does it requires an iisreset or any other thing which can take the site down for some time, if we are changing the xml file to change some validation. Keeping in Db, then use SQL dependency caching. So an update to DB can reflect the caching values.SO i believe if we change the values, it will update the cache. How much complex is this and does it effect the performance ? It will be great helpful, if we have some other method to achieve this. Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to inspect the contents of a Table Value Parameter via the debugger?

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the Visual Studio / SQL Server Management Studio debugger to inspect the contents of a Table Value Parameter passed to a stored procedure? To give a trivial example: CREATE TYPE [dbo].[ControllerId] AS TABLE( [id] [nvarchar](max) NOT NULL ) GO CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[test] @controllerData [dbo].[ControllerId] READONLY AS BEGIN SELECT COUNT(*) FROM @controllerData; END DECLARE @SampleData as [dbo].[ControllerId]; INSERT INTO @SampleData ([id]) VALUES ('test'), ('test2'); exec [dbo].[test] @SampleData; Using the above with a break point on the exec statement, I am able to step into the stored procedure without any trouble. The debugger shows that the @controllerData local has a value of '(table)' but I have not found any tool that would allow me to actual view the rows that make up that table.

Well, It's a beginer's question but I really don't know what is the best way. I have a basic CRUD (Create, Retrieve, Update and Delete) in my project and I'd like to output some message if succeded or not in a div inside the same page. So, basically, I have a form which action is setted to the same page and I have a div #statusDiv below this same form which I'd like to output something like Register included with success. What is the best way for doing this? Set a flag in the controller $this->view->flagStatus = 'message' then call it in the view? Just to make it more clear. The example below may not be problematic as is, but it should be enough to illustrate a point. Imagine that there is a lot more work than trimming going on. public string Thingy { set { // I guess we can throw a null reference exception here on null. value = value.Trim(); // Well, imagine that there is so much processing to do this.thingy = value; // That this.thingy = value.Trim() would not fit on one line ... So, if the assignment has to take two lines, then I either have to abusereuse the parameter, or create a temporary variable. I am not a big fan of temporary variables. On the other hand, I am not a fan of convoluted code. I did not include an example where a function is involved, but I am sure you can imagine it. One concern I have is if a function accepted a string and the parameter was "abused", and then someone changed the signature to ref in both places - this ought to mess things up, but ... who would knowingly make such a change if it already worked without a ref? Seems like it is their responsibility in this case. If I mess with the value of value, am I doing something non-trivial under the hood? If you think that both approaches are acceptable, then which do you prefer and why? Thanks.

Also when you create an object does it use the type parameter of the class? example Rule<String> r = new Rule<String>(); Does this normally apply to the type parameter of the class, in the situation where they do not conflict? I mean when only the class has a type parameter, not the constructor, or does this look for a type parameter in the constructor? If they do conflict how does this change? SEE DISCUSSION BELOW if I have a function call x = <Type Parameter>method(); // this is a syntax error even inside the function or class ; I must place a this before it, why is this, and does everything still hold true. Why don't I need to prefix anything for the constructor call. Shouldn't Oracle fix this.

Different output between release and Debug

I can't figure this one out. I can only assume there is some other difference between the release and build applications that is exposing a major issue with my code? Or another difference between the outputs I need to account for. What do I need to do to get the expected output?

I have some info back from a LAN switch as below Vlan 1 is administratively down, line protocol is down Vlan 2 is up, line protocol is up Helper address is 192.168.0.2 Vlan 3 is up, line protocol is up Helper address is not set Vlan 4 is up, line protocol is up Helper address is 192.168.0.2 Vlan 5 is down, line protocol is down Helper address is 192.168.0.2 Vlan 6 is down, line protocol is down Helper address is not set Helper address is not set And the output I'm trying for is Vlan 1,admin down,n/a Vlan 2,up/up, 192.168.0.2 Vlan 3, up/up, not set Vlan 4, up/up, 192.168.0.2 Vlan 5, down/down, 192.168.0.2 Vlan 6, down/down, not set So the helper isn't always there (line 1) sometimes it's set sometimes it isn't, sometimes there are two lines (last Vlan - I only need 1) and the Vlan can have states of admin down, up/up, up/down (not here) and down down. So using Python and pexpect I can get the above output, but I'm having difficulty parsing out the consecutive lines. I've tried enumerate and then use key+1 for the next line, but the fact that there can be 0,1 or 2 lines following the Vlan screws me. Any ideas please?

Hi, I want to grab the image src on a product page in a e commerce website. I'm writing this as a bookmarklet, so I'd like the code to work universally as possible. I've noticed that there are only two reoccurring factors in the product image tag among top e-commerce websites (amazon, bestbuy ect.): border=0 and 180<width&height<400. So how could I write a selector that would give me the srcof the first img element on the page with no border and width & height between 180 and 400 px? Or is there a better way of doing this? P.S. since I'm trying to keep the bookmarklet as light as possible, I don't want to use any libraries (jquery, yui etc)

Parameterizing a SQL IN clause?

How do I parameterize a query containing an IN clause with a variable number of arguments, like this one? select * from Tags where Name in ('ruby','rails','scruffy','rubyonrails') order by Count desc In this query, the number of arguments could be anywhere from 1 to 5. I would prefer not to use a dedicated stored procedure for this (or XML), but if there is some fancy SQL Server 2008 specific way of doing it elegantly, I am open to that.

What is an appropriate way to programmatically exit an application?

I am evaluating user inputs as commands for my application. If the user presses Q, or q, and then hits enter, the application quits and execution terminates. Is there a proper context, or best practices on how to do that? I do not have any resources to release, or anything like that. Should I just use System.exit(0);? Is there a recommended way to do that? Why can't these generic type parameters be inferred?

Given the following interfaces/classes: public interface IRequest<TResponse> { } public interface IHandler<TRequest, TResponse> where TRequest : IRequest<TResponse> { TResponse Handle(TRequest request); } public class HandlingService { public TResponse Handle<TRequest, TResponse>(TRequest request) where TRequest : IRequest<TResponse> { var handler = container.GetInstance<IHandler<TRequest, TResponse>>(); return handler.Handle(request); } } public class CustomerResponse { public Customer Customer { get; set; } } public class GetCustomerByIdRequest : IRequest<CustomerResponse> { public int CustomerId { get; set; } } Why can't the compiler infer the correct types, if I try and write something like the following: var service = new HandlingService(); var request = new GetCustomerByIdRequest { CustomerId = 1234 }; var response = service.Handle(request); // Shouldn't this know that response is going to be CustomerResponse? I just get the 'type arguments cannot be inferred' message. Is this a limitation with generic type inference in general, or is there a way to make this work?

Hi, i have this two lines: var_dump($parametros_post_signin); $this->redirect('prueba/aux?email='.$parametros_post_signin['signin']); the first one prints this: array 'signin' => array 'email_address' => string '' (length=0) 'password' => string '' (length=0) the second one takes to another action where i have this code: var_dump($request->getParameter('email')); that prints this: string 'password' (length=8) I expected it to print something like this: string '' (length=0) What should i do to the get value of the 'email_address' field ?
