  my laptop has nvidia GT540m yesterday i install nvidia-current after updating fromsudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates then i write sudo nvidia-xconfig and then reboot my desktop visual effect changes and it look good like nvidia is working but still glx i not working and nvidia-setting tells me that You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver my dkms status is nvidia-current, 304.43, 3.2.0-30-generic-pae, i686: installed lspci |grep VGA output : 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 540M] (rev a1) also i can not login to my admin account but when i login to standard user or guest it works but still NVIDIA X driver is not working can any one suggest something so that NVIDIA X Driver start working as i seen many forum but none worked for me earlier i tried nvidia-173 ,nvidia-current(before x-swat/updates reprository) but none works for me

  I have a local business directory site. I'm trying to segment my incoming traffic by page-type such that I can find out what percentage of traffic is going to zip code pages exclusively and what percentage is going to city/state level pages. I basically want to filter by URL structure to find out what percentage of total traffic zip code pages account for. The reason for doing this is to find out if Google Tag Manager can help with this? • Connect Lenovo W520 with TV using VGA output

  I am trying to connect my Lenovo Thinkpad W520 with my 32 inch TV (Samsung) using he VGA output.The problem is that after connecting it with the TV I go to System Settings and then Monitors but it doesn't show up there.I rebooted my system and again nothing happened.So I tried to change my default video card in the BIOS and I chose to boot with Intel's card only.Again though nothing happened.I didn't tried with my NVidia video card because last time I did that Ubuntu was completely destroyed after saving the configuration file through the NVidia's X Server Control Panel.My laptop has NVidia Optimus technology,but I can choose from the BIOS which video card I want to use.After running : lspci | grep VGA in terminal the results are: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) (It shows only the Intel's video card because curently I have chose to boot using only Intel's video card.If I chose from the BIOS that I want to use the NVidia Optimus Technology and the option to let the system whether or not the Optimus technology is supported then both cards will show up in terminal after running lspci | grep VGA.)

• glx not working, optirun works, gnome in fallback mode

  It all started when I installed nvidia's own driver. Uninstalling it and reverting back to nvidia-current didn't solve the problem, so I have been playing with this for a while. Now nvidia-current seems to be functional. It seems glx support is missing, and my intel graphics is not responding. gnome loads only in fallback mode. • How can I test for a URLs existeance before redirecting to it?

  I am using Apache's mod_rewrite to redirect mobile users to my mobile site based on their http_user_agent. However not all pages have a mobile equivalent. Also mobile pages end in .html and "full" pages end in .shtml. Here is some pseudo code. Does the user have a certain HTTP_USER_AGENT? Is there a mobile page? If so take them there. If not, no redirection is needed. I want to do this with apache.

  We are initiating in Spring + Primefaces development and the first problem we have encountered is about storing the xhtml pages into the WEB-INF folder. When we use a faces form in a view located inside the WEB-INF folder, then the commandButton does not execute the managed bean method. Our bean : In fact we think the problem is that with JSF , the pages are rendered using a link to the same page as the action of the form, so if the page is located in WEB-INF it is not public accessible. We know that having all our xhtml views in the web folder instead of WEB-INF actually solves the issue, but we would like to store that pages into WEB-INF. Thank you.

• File access forbidden in htpasswd

  I have been using the htpasswd generated in this question and it seemed to have been working well until recently. Since yesterday, I am not able to access the newest file created in the folder ChatLogs(named 10_07_2012.txt). The server returns a 403 Forbidden error saying: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /ChatLogs/2012/07/10_07_2012.txt on this server. I am still able to access older files(until 09 July, 2012). At first I thought it might be because of file permissions, but they are the same as on other 9 files in the folder. What could be the problem? Please Help.

  I've just learned basics of Data oriented programming design, but I'm not very familiar with that yet. I've also read Pitfalls of Object Oriented Programming GCAP 09. It seems that data oriented programming is much better idea for games, than OOP. I'm just creating my own GUI system and it's completely OOP. I'm thinking if is data oriented programming design applicable for structured things like GUI. The main problem I see is that every type widget has different data, so I can hardly group them into arrays. Also every type of widget renders differently so I still need to call virtual functions.

  I have a site with various pages, like: /about/history /about/team /contact/email-us /contact I want to figure out how much time people are spending on the entire /about section, and how much on the /contact section. If I run a query on the Google Analytics API and set the dimension to ga:pagePathLevel1 and the metric to ga:avgTimeOnPage, I get results like this: { pagePathLevel1: /about, avgTimeOnPage: 28 }, { pagePathLevel1: /contact, avgTimeOnPage: 10 } This looks roughly like what I want, but I'm not sure how to intepret it: Is the value of avgTimeOnPage the average time spent by any user on all pages that match that path? Or is it the average time spent by any user on any single page that matches that path? I'm looking for the average time spent across all pages matching that path, but the time estimates look shorter than I'd expect.

  I've been out of the Ubuntu loop for quite a while now and have a completely new laptop now.   having problems with my new lenovo x230 - using dual montiors, only vga registers anything. This has the Intel graphics controller : 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge Graphics Controller (rev 09) TO get it to even boot, had to add the nomodeset parameter to the kernel. Otherwise will not even start up X Ive upgraded my kernel to the latest 3.6 with no difference. The display section reads the monitor as the only display and labels it as laptop. Cant seem to get it to work! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  We have a site which has a sidebar with sections (or "widgets" if you like) showing stuff like "Recent Articles", "Other Articles by this User", "Similar Articles" etc. The issue is, Google seems to take these links very seriously. In fact, if I have only a single article which is closely related to a certain phrase (and several other pages link to it in their sidebars), when I do a Google search, it lists all those other pages highlighting that one link to the page that should actually be the most relevant one. And these pages don't even mention the phrase anywhere else. It there a common approach with adding these sidebar links? For example, I might add them through ajax after the page is loaded, but then crawlers will have harder time finding them?

• Second monitor not coming back on after going into hibernate

  10 and a new problem has come up. When I my machine hibernates the second monitor does not come back on. I did not have this problem in 11.04. The main monitor is plugged into a vga port, and the second plugged into a display port then an adapter to vga the system is a Dell Optiplex 790 and the graphics card is (according to lspci) a VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) I am running the classic Gnome desktop though the problem occurs in Unity as well.

• Search engine bots accessing strange URLs

  We have ELMAH enabled on our site and get errors whenever a Page Not Found error is triggered on the website. We have recently redesigned a new website and so we understand that search engine robots might have previously indexed pages which they try to access and result in a Page Not Found errors. For this reason, we have set up permanent redirects for such previously indexed pages to the respective new pages. The website in mention is www.chambercollege.com and for example, a previously indexed URL was www.chambercollege.com/special-offers.aspx. This page is no longer accessible so we have created the necessary permanent redirect to redirect to the respective page on www.chambercollege.com/en/content/special-offers-161/. Now we are starting to receive Page Not Found errors of search engine bots (e.g. MSN bot) trying to access the URL www.chambercollege.com/special-offers.aspx/images/shadow_right.jpg/. Any idea how could a search engine make up that strange URL and whether you have any suggestions of what to do best?

• SharePoint Search Problem: The crawler could not communicate with the server.

  This one was not easy to solve ... Error: The crawler could not communicate with the server. Check that the server is available and that the firewall access is configured. Context: Some pages were not crawled (giving the above error) and, what is worse, all the sub content of that site was not crawled either! (the pages were the homepages of the site) Solution:The pages that could not be crawled due to this error contained a custom web part. This web part used default credentials for a given action. During crawling, the SP_Search account tried to perform this action but did not have the appropriate rights. • Sudden drop of pageviews/visit and increase of bounce rate in Analytics

  Google analytics stats: 04 june 2012 Visits: 4.423 Unique visitors: 3.558 Pageviews: 77.352 Pageviews / visit: 17,49 Visit length: 00:06:26 Bounce rate: 1,09% 05 june 2012 Visits: 4.652 Unique visitors: 3.825 Pageviews: 45.087 Pageviews / visit: 9,69 Visit length: 00:06:45 Bounce rate: 19,60% From one day to another the bounce rate went from 1% to 19%, the pageviews dropped by half so did the pageviews/visit. The only thing I changed (If I remember correctly) on the site, was an advertisment that used a javascript. Could this be the reason? and, if it is, how can I know which one is the real stats?
