  • Mixing sound files on an iPhone

    - by quano
I've got a couple of wav files and possibly a mp3 that I'd like to mix to a single wav or mp3-file. I'm using C/C++/Obj-C (iPhone). I have really no experience with this sort of thing. If anyone could give me some pointers, I would be very grateful. Thanks.

  • How do you pronounce "->"

    - by tster
I'm referring to the C operator which is used on pointers to mean the same think as the dot (".") would mean on the value. Incidentally, I'm most interested in how to pronounce it in perl as in $hello->world().

  • actionscript 3.0 load images dynamically

    - by johnny
I am making a photo slideshow in flash and would like to be able to load images dynamically from a folder. So that whenever i have a new photo i can just stick it in a folder and have my swf file read from that folder and update the slideshow. Is this doable in actionscript 3.0? if so any pointers would be helpful. thanks!

  • What is an Entity? Why is it called Entity?

    - by rkrauter
What is the deal with Entities (when talking about the Entity Framework)? From what I understand, it is pretty much an in memory representation of a data store like sql tables. Entities are smart enough to track changes and apply those changes to the data store. Is there anything more to it? Thanks in advance.

  • using REST webservices as a datasource for Lift ?

    - by Jeff Bowman
Is there a way to use a webservice (REST in this case) as the data source for a Lift application? I can find a number of tutorials/examples of using Lift to provide the REST API, but in my case the data is hosted elsewhere and exported as a REST webservice. Pointers to doc are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

  • Suggestion for a Data Structure!

    - by Jay
I have the following requirements for a data structure: Direct access to an element with the help of a key (Key will be an integer, range is also same as integer range) Avoid memory allocation in chunks (Allocate contigous memory for the data structure including the data) Should be able to grow the data structure size dynamically Which data structure would you suggest? Any pointers in the direction will also be of help.

  • Search Complexity of a Hashtable within a Hashtable?

    - by spacker_lechuck
Say we have a hashtable of size m, and at each bucket we store a hashtable of size p. What would the worst case/average case search complexity be? I am inclined to say that since computing a hash function is still atomic, the only worst case scenario is if the value is at the end of the linked list in the hashtable of size p, so O(n)? I have no idea how to calculate the average case for this scenario and would appreciate any pointers!

  • Having a white space issue with scala, I think?

    - by Uruhara747
I'm trying to write a script to make generating Lift projects quicker but I believe i'm running into a white space issue. val strLiftGen = "mvn archetype:generate -U-DarchetypeGroupId=net.liftweb\ -DarchetypeArtifactId=lift-archetype-blank\ -DarchetypeVersion=1.0\ -DremoteRepositories=http://scala-tools.org/repo-releases-DgroupId=" + args(0)"-DartifactId=" + args(1)"-Dversion=1.0-SNAPSHOT */" Anyone care to hit the newb with the stick of wisdom and tell me a smart way of handling a long string like this?

  • Linking against multiple shared libraries that all linked against a common static library

    - by live2dream95
Say you have 2 share libraries, lib1.so and lib2.so, that both have libcommon.a statically linked into them. Would the compiler complain about ambiguous symbol reference if you were to dynamically link both lib1.so and lib2.so? Or would be the compiler be smart enough to know libcommon symbols are shared between lib1 and lib2 and allow you to dynamically link against both?

  • Vague MVC and Castle Windsor question. Sorry...

    - by Matt W
I have inheritted some code in which the MVC Controller classes all get their constructors called by Castle....DefaultProxyFactory.Create() somewhere along the line (the call stack drops out to the , which isn't helping.) So, basically, how would I go about finding out where Castle is being told how to call the constructors of my Controllers? I am very new to Castle, Windsor and MicroKernel, etc, and not a master of ASP's MVC. Many thanks for any pointers - sorry about the vagueness, Matt.

  • Php recursion into multidimensional array

    - by dclowd9901
I'm trying to write a script that, in its process, would need to be able to write an undefined number of nested arrays, and those arrays need to be able to have custom keys. Essentially, the script is being used to convert an HTML DOM into a multidimensional array. I'm not extremely well versed in recursion, so any pointers would be awesome.

  • Criteria SpatialRestrictions.IsWithinDistance NHibernate.Spatial

    - by idjones82
    Has anyone implemented this, or know if it would be difficult to implement this/have any pointers? public static SpatialRelationCriterion IsWithinDistance(string propertyName, object anotherGeometry, double distance) { // TODO: Implement throw new NotImplementedException(); } from NHibernate.Spatial.Criterion.SpatialRestrictions I can use "where NHSP.Distance(PROPERTY, :point)" in hql. But want to combine this query with my existing Criteria query. for the moment I'm creating a rough polygon, and using criteria.Add(SpatialRestrictions.Intersects("PROPERTY", myPolygon));

  • Sorting a string in array, making it sparsely populated.

    - by S1syphus
For example, say I have string like: duck duck duck duck goose goose goose dog And I want it to be as sparsely populated as possible, say in this case duck goose duck goose dog duck goose duck What sort of algorithm would you recommend? Snippets of code or general pointers would be useful, languages welcome Python, C++ and extra kudos if you have a way to do it in bash.
