• CoreData update problems

  My app makes updates in background thread then saves context changes. And in main context there is a table view that works with NSFetchedResultsController. For some time updates work correctly, but then exception is thrown. To check this I've added NSLog(@"%@", [self.controller fetchedObjects]); to -controllerDidChangeContent:. I've logged data during update & before saving. This object is in updatedObjects only. Why can this method return "bad" object? (Moreover, during updates this object is affected almost each update. And only after some passes becomes "bad" one). P.S.: I use RestKit to manage CoreData. UPDATED: The exception was got, when I did smth. like this: for (PRBattle *battle in [self.controller fetchedObjects) { switch (battle.statusScalar) { case ... default: [battle willAccessValueForKey:nil]; NSAssert1(NO, @"Unexpected battle status found: %@", battle); } } The exception is on line with -willAccessValueForKey:. Scalar status for battle is enum, that is bind to integer values 1..4. I've mentioned all possible values in switch's cases (above default:). And the last one has break;. So this one is possible only when battle.statusScalar returns non-enum value. • Getting overflow-y:scroll to work with fixed positioning html & css

  I have a Jquery tools scrollable thats set to be fixed to the bottom of the browser window. Ideally i would just like to get a overflow-y:scroll; working for the page as a whole when the browser is < 700px. (so no content gets hidden, as its all fixed place). This feels like it should be simple but its causing me huge headaches. js solutions are fine at this point. • Why is UITableView not reloading (even on the main thread)?

  I have two programs that basically do the same thing. They read an XML feed and parse the elements. The design of both programs is to use an asynchronous NSURLConnection to get the data then to spawn a new thread to handle the parsing. As batches of 5 items are parsed it calls back to the main thread to reload the UITableView. My issue is it works fine in one program, but not the other. I know that the parsing is actually occuring on the background thread and I know that [tableView reloadData] is executing on the main thread; however, it doesn't reload the table until all parsing is complete. I'm stumped. As far as I can tell... both programs are structured exactly the same way.   I have been trying to configure WCF to work with Azure ACS. This WCF configuration has 2 bugs: It does not publish MEX end point. It does not invoke custom behaviour extension. There is more code involved for checking token validation, but in my opinion at least MEX should get published and CreateBehavior() should get invoked in order for me to proceed further.

  Hi everyone, I've been spending hours now reading up on IE7's issue with rendering Flash content on top of other elements, particularly navigation menus (this is often a problem with dropdown menus and Flash ad banners, for example). Other information that may or may not be helpful is that the page is XHTML 1.0 Transitional and that Dreamweaver reports 1 error in the HTML code: <embed> is not in the XHTML 1.0 specification. And I have only select operations . And below is the method which is used most often to execute my select queries. One tricky thing which I am not understanding is in my findById method i am using this line of code getSession().beginTransaction(); without which it gives me an error saying that this cannot happpen without a transaction. • IE6 + IE7 CSS problem with overflow: hidden; - position: relative; combo.

  So I have created a slider for a homepage, that slides some images with a title and teaser text using jQuery. Everything works fine, and I went to check IE and found that IE 6 and 7 kills my slider css completely. I can't figure out why, but for some reason I can't hide the non active slides with overflow: hidden; I've tried tweaking the css back and forth, but haven't been able to figure out what's causing the problem. • Why Java servlet can't get Paypal IPN messages everytime ?

  I have a Java servlet running on my notebook with Windows Vista, I set up a static IP, did port forwarding and registered for a free DDNS service, now my servlet is running, I gave the url to Paypal to send me IPN messages, I went on to it's sandbox site got to the test tools page, tried to send test messages by clicking the "Send IPN" button, most of the time it would fail, the error is : "IPN delivery failed. Unable to connect to the specified URL. Please verify the URL and try again." But maybe 1 in 10 times, it might be successful and my servlet would get the message, and I looked at the messages I got, they are in correct format. So I called Paypal asking why, he said I shouldn't run the servlet on my notebook, in stead I should run it on the web server, but I told him my ISP doesn't support Java on their server, and since I did all the above steps, shouldn't it be the same to run the servlet on my notebook ? He said his test showed he couldn't get to my servlet, but I asked why maybe 1 in 10 times it could get through ? If there is something wrong with running it on my notebook, then 100% times it should fail, am I correct on this point ? But anyway he said that's all he could do, and I should troubleshoot it myself. • Can't print elements in a DIV tag

  I am using a Drag-able and re-sizeable DIV's in this HTML file. Where the user will place the DIV tag to his desired place in a main parent DIV tag. Now I want to print this main DIV tag, but the problem is that the code which I'm using to PRINT this main DIV is printing in a sequence, like not the way user has arranged the DIV's. • Getting segmentaion fault after destructor

  I'm making a small file reading and data validation program as part of my TAFE (a tertiary college) course, This includes checking and validating dates. I decided that it would be best done with a seperate class, rather than integrating it into my main driver class. The problem is that I'm getting a segmentation fault(core dumped) after my test program runs. Near as I can tell, the error occurs when the program terminates, popping up after the destructor is called. • Watching setTimeout loops so that only one is running at a time.

  I'm creating a content rotator in jQuery. 5 items total. Item 1 fades in, pauses 10 seconds, fades out, then item 2 fades in. Repeat. Simple enough. Using setTimeout I can call a set of functions that create a loop and will repeat the process indefinitely. I now want to add the ability to interrupt this rotator at any time by clicking on a navigation element to jump directly to one of the content items. I originally started going down the path of pinging a variable constantly (say every half second) that would check to see if a navigation element was clicked and, if so, abandon the loop, then restart the loop based on the item that was clicked. The challenge I ran into was how to actually ping a variable via a timer. The solution is to dive into JavaScript closures...which are a little over my head but definitely something I need to delve into more. However, in the process of that, I came up with an alternative option that actually seems to be better performance-wise (theoretically, at least). Then, within the loop, before the next step of each loop is called, it checks to see if the variable it has still matches the global variable. If not, it knows that a new loop has already been activated so it just ends the existing loop. Thoughts on this? Valid solution? Better options? Caveats? Dangers? UPDATE: I'm using John's suggestion below via the clearTimeout option. However, I can't quite get it to work. However, if I leave that last line in, it doesn't actually stop the initial loop. Why? What happens is that both loops seem to run in parallel for a period. So, when I click my navigation, clearTimeout is called, which clears it.

• asp.net mvc 3 iis 7.5 404 error

  Well works fine on my dev machine. Deploys fine from visual studio 2010 using msdeploy to IIS 7.5 with a site named apps.mydomain.com/myapp. So essentially I want to browse to http://apps.mydomain.com/myapp but when I do I get 404 error. I have Windows authentication enabled only on the site everything else is disabled. I have installed hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980368. App pool .NET 4 integrated pipeline. I have tried classic pipeline also but doesn't work. Edit 2 executed %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe -ir still doesn't work What am I doing wrong or do I need to do anything else?   I'm making a small file reading and data validation program as part of my TAFE (a tertiary college) course, This includes checking and validating dates. I decided that it would be best done with a seperate class, rather than integrating it into my main driver class. The problem is that I'm getting a segmentation fault(core dumped) after my test program runs. Near as I can tell, the error occurs when the program terminates, popping up after the destructor is called.   Hi there, I'm building a contact us page that also uses a reCaptcha, but im having a few issues with it. I fill in all of the fields in the contact form and the correct reCaptcha words, but the form does not submit. I'm assuming this is something to do with the validation, but wondered if someone might be able to spot where i'm going wrong? • Why won't my AJAX controls work? (and ajax for .net 4 not working?)

  I'm totally new to ajax. I'm using VS2005. I just downloaded .NET framework 4 and so then I downloaded ajaxcontroltoolkit.binary.net4 via [http://ajaxcontroltoolkit.codeplex.com/releases/view/43475] (as opposed to ajaxcontroltoolkit.binary.net35 for .NET 3.5), but when I try to load the ajaxcontroltoolkit.dll into my toolbox (as said in the tutorials), I get the following error msg: "'C:......\ajaxcontroltoolkit.dll' is not a microsoft .NET module." First question: Why is this happening? So I tried downloading the "Recommended" ajaxcontroltoolkit.binary.net35, and it accepted the .dll file and loaded all my controls. So, I started a new website and tried to check out a combobox, and it displays, but IE is giving the follow error msg: 'Sys.Extended.UI.PositioningMode.BottomLeft' is null or not an object.' 2nd question: Why is this happening?
