• Can I fix the width of JRadioButton?

  I have sever JPanels which have to be ordered vertically. For that I want to fix the width of the JPanels. Because if they are too short in comparison with the windows width, they will go horizontally (one after another) and I do not want it. At the moment the width of the JPanel is not constant because the width of the JRadioButton (included into JPabel) is not constant. How can I make the width of the JRadioButton constant? At the moment it is not constant because of the label (which can be different).

• Axis error about runtime location

  The error is: Exception occurred while reading or writing file {0}The Axis2 facets cannot be installed since the Axis2 runtime location has not been set. Go to the Web Services preference page and set the Axis2 runtime location under Axis2 Preferences. In the preferences mentioned, the location is set correctly and in fact, it says "Axis2 runtime loaded successfully" after loadign the correct runtime location. So what's going on? Any solutions other than re-installing eclipse or creating a new workspace? I am using Axis2 1.4.1 and eclipse.

We decided to go with Date.strptime for parsing and validation, which works great, except for how it just ignores any garbage data entered.   I'm trying to use sqlite3 with lua (am already using c++, but I'm a n00b with lua- I read this) but I'm getting the following when trying to build the library or whatever: C:\lib\lsqlite3-7>mingw32-make process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, pkg-config --version, ...) failed. makefile:53: *** windows32. Stop. I'm not at all surprised at a makefile failing but I can't do them (is it spaces or tabs? where is it they have to go?), I would have thought there was a binary for windows? Any simple answers appreciated. I haven't got the time to learn make or install cygwin or whatever.

  I'm working on an automatic trading system. What sorts of safe-guards should I have in place? The main idea I have is to have multiple pieces checking each other. I will have a second independent little process which will also connect to the same trading account and monitor simple things, like ensuring the total net position does not go over a certain limit, or that there are no more than N orders in 10 minutes for example, or more than M positions open simultaneously. You can also check that the actual open positions correspond to what the strategy process thinks it actually holds. As a bonus I could run this checker process on a different machine/network provider. Besides the checks in the main strategy, this will ensure that whatever weird bug occurs, nothing really bad can happen. Any other things I should monitor and be aware of?

  What's a better way to traverse an array while iterating through another array? For example, if I have two arrays like the following: names = [ "Rover", "Fido", "Lassie", "Calypso"] breeds = [ "Terrier", "Lhasa Apso", "Collie", "Bulldog"] Assuming the arrays correspond with one another - that is, Rover is a Terrier, Fido is a Lhasa Apso, etc. - I'd like to create a dog class, and a new dog object for each item: class Dog attr_reader :name, :breed def initialize(name, breed) @name = name @breed = breed end end I can iterate through names and breeds with the following: index = 0 names.each do |name| dog = Dog.new("#{name}", "#{breeds[index]}") index = index.next end However, I get the feeling that using the index variable is the wrong way to go about it. What would be a better way?

• Reliable way to get the "ancestor" of an object with a specific classname, using jQuery

  I've got a javascript function that gets called on change event of a select form element. So, the "this" variable in js refers to the select element. This select element is in a td tag, in a tr tag. The tr tag has a classname of "FilterDetailsRow". Now, I've tested, and if I use this syntax: var filterRow = $(this).parent().parent(); it gets me what I want. However, is there a better way to tell jQuery, "starting with "this" can you please go up my tree of parents until you find one with a classname of "FilterDetailsRow"? • Multiple webservices in 1 ear/ejb project

  We have a ejb project (which is in an ear) that shares quite a bit of code between 2 webservices. The classes that the webservices expose are in different packages but they have different names. For example Web service1 com.d.trunk.Response WS1.process( com.d.trunk.Input ); Web service2 com.d.fwd.Response WS2.process( com.d.fwd.Input ); So this builds fine, but when we deploy and we view the generated wsdl and the generated xsd things begin to go a bit haywire. So if we look at web service 2 it generates the wsdl and xsd as we expect. But when we look at ws 1's wsdl for some reason it includes the xsd from the ws 2 and its own xsd. And its own xsd are missing key types like the Response type. Is this an issue because we have 2 web services in 1 ejb project? Or some config issue with Netbeans 6.7.1 and glassfish v2?

• Seeking through a streamed MP3 file with HTML5 <audio> tag

  Hopefully someone can help me out with this. I'm playing around with a node.js server that streams audio to a client, and I want to create an HTML5 player. Right now, I'm streaming the code from node using chunked encoding, and if you go directly to the URL, it works great. What I'd like to do is embed this using the HTML5 <audio> tag, like so: <audio src="http://server/stream?file=123"> where /stream is the endpoint for the node server to stream the MP3. The HTML5 player loads fine in Safari and Chrome, but it doesn't allow me to seek, and Safari even says it's a "Live Broadcast". In the headers of /stream, I include the file size and file type, and the response gets ended properly. Any thoughts on how I could get around this? I certainly could just send the whole file at once, but then the player would wait until the whole thing is downloaded--I'd rather stream it.

  I am working on a system for reserving seats. A user inputs how many seats they wish to reserve and the database will return a set of suggested seats that are not previously reserved that matches the number of seats being reserved. For instance if I had the table: SeatID | Reserved ----------------- 1 | false 2 | true 3 | false 4 | false 5 | false 6 | true 7 | true 8 | false 9 | false 10 | true And the user inputs that they wish to reserve 2 seats, I would expect the query to return that seats (3, 4), (4, 5), and (8, 9) are not reserved and match the given number of input seats. Seats are organized into sections and rows. Continuous seats must be in the same row. How would I go about structuring this query to work in such a way that it finds all available continuous seats that match the given input?

• AVAudioPlayer currentTime problem

  Hi, I'm trying to use the audioplayer with a slider in order to seek into a track (nothing complicated). But I have a weird behavior... for some value of currentTime (between 0 and trackDuration), the player stop playing the track, and goes into "audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying:successfully:" with successfully to NO. And it did not go into "audioPlayerDecodeErrorDidOccur:error:" It's like it can't read the time i'm giving to it. For exemple the duration of the track is: 295.784424 seconds i set the currentTime to 55.0s (ie: 54.963878 or 54.963900 or 54.987755, etc... when printed as %f). The "crashes" always happen when the currentTime is 54.987755... and I really don't understand why... So if you have any idea... ^^

  I set my wordpress permalink structure to /%postname%/ but now when I go to a page other than the home page (for example if I went to somelink.com/about) I lose all javascript references. I think this happens because the links to the js files are no longer right as it is in the imaginary folder "about". • Kohana PHP - Multiple apps with shared model

  I'm using Kohana 3 to create a website that has two applications, an admin application and the actual site frontend. I have separated my folders to have the two applications separated, so the hierarchy looks as follows: /applications /admin /classes /controller /... /site /classes /controller /.... My question is, how I need to go about creating a shared /model folder. Essentially, both the admin and site itself operates on the same data, so the database layer and business logic remains more or less the same. So to me, it makes sense to have a single model folder, sitting outside of the two application folders. Is it possible to achieve the following hierarchy: /applications /model --> Where model sits in a neatly generic location, accessible to all applications /admin /classes /controller /... /site /classes /controller /.... • How do I include external Libraries in CodeIgniter?

  I'm new to codeigniter, and I'm trying to integrate amazon's FPS into my page. There are a bunch of libraries and models that go with Amazon FPS, which I would need included to make the appropriate calls. How do I include them in CodeIgniter? I tried placing the entire Amazon folder inside the system/libraries directory, and then tried including libraries with $this-load-library( 'Amazon/FPS/Client' ); However, I run into problems with the relative path there, because Client.php contains the statement require_once ('Amazon/FPS/Interface.php'); ... which is in the same folder. There has to be a better way to do all this - can anyone please help? Thanks!!

• Can an Aspect conditionally render parts of a JSP page ?

  At present the jsp pages have normal authorize tags to conditionally render links and information etc. The website is on the intranet, and we're using Spring Security 2.0.4. Ive now got a business user who wants to allow all roles to access everything for the first few weeks, then gradually add the security back in as feedback is gathered from the business. Rather than go through every page, removing the authorize tags, only to have to put them back in, is is possible to configure these through an aspect, or is there any other way to externalize this into a config file ? I've found Spring's MethodSecurityInterceptor and the meta data tags, but these wouldn't give me the externalization. I've been on google for the last hour, and am now pretty sure this can't be done, but would love to find out I haven't been asking the right questions. Advice appreciated

• sqlite no such table

  can anyone please help. I've seen many people with the same problem and looked at all suggestions but still cannot get this to work. I have tried to unistall the application and install again, I have tried to change the version number and start again. I've debugged the code and it does go into the onCreate function, but when I go to make a select query it says the users table does not exist. Any help would greatly be appreciated. • Using JavaScript eval to parse JSON

  Question: I'm using eval to parse a JSON return value from one of my WebMethods. I prefer not to add jquery-json because the transfer volume is already quite large. So I parse the JSON return value with eval. Now rumors go that this is insecure. Why ? Nobody can modify the JSOn return value unless they hack my server, in which case I would have a much larger problem anyway. And if they do it locally, JavaScript only executes in their browser. So I fail to see where the problem is. • I am unable to find login page for phpmyadmin

  I was using phpmyadmin(in Wamp) without a password for root. I thought to set a password for root and goto Privileges page and set a password for root. Now whenever I go to localhost/phpmyadmin page it gives me the following error. MySQL said: Documentation #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server. I don't know that what is the problem. It is not showing me a login type page to enter a username and password. Any idea that what is the problem ? Thanks

• .NET Database Apps: Your Preferred Setup

  I'm struggling to settle into a pattern for developing typical database driven apps in C# and Visual Studio. There are so many ways to set them up, using drag/drop datasets and adapters or writing the queries manually in ADO.NET or Linq to SQL, Linq to Entities, to bind or not to data bind etc etc. Where to store the connection string, in app.config or in a method or both etc etc. So many tutorials and all of them are different. Everytime I write something I start hating the way it looks and works, so I scrap it and start over. It's getting a bit tedious. Maybe it's alittle of the OCD in me. Would any of you professional developers out there share your method of setting up and structuring your database logic and maybe some sample code? It's really how to go about organizing the code and the method(s) of interacting with SQL that I'm trying to get into a routine with, one that works and won't get me laughed at by someone reviewing it.

  Hi, I have a UITableView with a list of items such as item1, item2, item3, item4 and so on. If I select on item1, it will go to the detail view of item1 (which is controlled by DetailsViewController). What I am trying to do is to add a button called "Next" on DetailsView. When clicked, the DetailsView will refresh and show item2. When clicked again, it will show item3 and so on. I have been searching high and low for that to implement. But to no avail.   .NET has this concept of Application Domains which from what I understand can be used to load an assembly into memory. I've done some research on Application Domains as well as go to my local book store for some additional knowledge on this subject matter but it seems very scarce. All I know that I can do with Application Domains is to load assemblies in memory and I can unload them when I want. What are the capabilities other that I have mentioned of Application Domains? Do Threads respect Application Domains boundaries? Are there any drawbacks from loading Assemblies in different Application Domains other than the main Application Domains beyond performance of communication? Links to resources that discuss Application Domains would be nice as well. I've already checked out MSDN which doesn't have that much information about them.
