  • AD DS or AD LDS

    - by rajeevrautela
    Hi all, Greeetings !!! I need a suggestion about having AD DS or AD LDS for my infrastructure. So lets begin, Ex. I am having a website which as of now do not have any log in facility for the visitors, now we are developing a new application so that the visitors can create account on the website. the best example you can think of is of any telecom service provider, they have their webiste and now is creating a login facility for it's customers so the users can create an account and can subscribe for ebill sort of facilties. Hope the situation is clear now. for this particular application, i intend to have a web server, an application server, a DB server, one SMTP server and one AD server(for authentication of users and for saving the profiles also). My question here starts on AD front, here do i need AD DS or AD LDS here, what i need from AD is 1) provide user authentication, 2) provide role based access. this is my query. hope i'll get the answer very soon.

  • Synapse and string problems with HTTPSend in Delphi 2010

    - by Mick
    I have been trying to get to the bottom of this problem off and on for the past 2 days and I'm really stuck. Hopefully some smart folks can help me out. The issue is that I have a function that I call in a thread that downloads a file (using Synapse libraries) from a website that is passed to it. However, I've found that every once in a while there are sites where it will not pull down a file, but wget or Firefox/IE will download it without issue. Digging into it, I've found some curious things. Here is the relevant code: uses //[..] HTTPSend, blcksock; //[..] type TMyThread = class(TThread) protected procedure Execute; override; private { Private declarations } fTheUrl: string; procedure GetFile(const TheUrl: string); public property thrd_TheUrl: string read fTheUrl write fTheUrl; end; implementation [..] procedure TMyThread.GetFile(const TheUrl: string); var HTTP: THTTPSend; success: boolean; sLocalUrl: string; IsSame : boolean; begin HTTP := THTTPSend.Create; try HTTP.UserAgent := 'Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)'; HTTP.ProxyHost := 'MYPROXY.COM'; HTTP.ProxyPort := '80'; sLocalUrl := 'http://web.archive.org/web/20071212205017/energizer.com/usbcharger/download/UsbCharger_setup_V1_1_1.exe'; IsSame := SameText(sLocalUrl, sTheUrl); //this equals True when I debug /// /// /// THIS IS WHERE THE ISSUE BEGINS /// I will comment out 1 of the following when debugging /// HTTP.HTTPMethod('GET', sLocalUrl); // ----this works and WILL download the file HTTP.HTTPMethod('GET', sTheUrl); // --- this always fails, and HTTP.ResultString contains "Not Found" success := SysUtils.UpperCase(HTTP.ResultString) = 'OK'; if HTTP.ResultCode > 0 then success := True; //this is here just to keep the value around while debugging finally HTTP.Free; end; end; procedure TMyThread.Execute begin //fTheURL contains this value: http://web.archive.org/web/20071212205017/energizer.com/usbcharger/download/UsbCharger_setup_V1_1_1.exe GetFile(fTheUrl); end; The problem is that when I assign a local variable to the function and give it the URL directly, everything works. However, when passing the variable into the function, it fails. Anyone have any ideas? HTTP.HTTPMethod('GET', sLocalUrl); // ----this works and WILL download the file HTTP.HTTPMethod('GET', sTheUrl); // --- this always fails, and HTTP.ResultString contains "Not Found" I'm using the latest version of Synapse from their SVN repository (version from 2 days ago). NOTE: The file I am attempting to download is known to have a virus, the program I am writing is meant to download malicious files for analysis. So, don't execute the file once you download it. However, I'm using this URL b/c this is the one I can reproduce the issue with.

  • Connecting Dell PowerVault NAS to ESXi

    - by Matt Fitz
    Just got a Dell PowerVault NAS storage device running Windows Storage Server Standard which includes NFS. When I try and connect the ESXi server I get the following message: Call "HostDatastoreSystem.CreateNasDatastore" for object "ha-datastoresystem" on ESXi "powerhouse" failed. Operation failed, diagnostics report: Unable to complete Sysinfo operation. Please see the VMkernel log file for more details. I am pretty sure it is a username/password type thing. Not sure were to begin though. Also, I am planning on using "Username Mapping" instead of Active Directory. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

    I am a beginner at c++ and figured the only way I am going to learn is to get dirty with some code. I am trying to build a program that connects to a mysql database. I am using g++, on linux. • SubSonic Stored Procedure Issue - Data Generated at Stored Procedure is different from Data Received

    - by ShaShaIn
    Hi All, I am facing a unknown problem while using stored procedure with SubSonic. I have written a stored procedure & application code that takes first name & last name as input parameter and return last login id as ouput parameter. It creates login id as first character of first name & complete last name for no-existing login id otherwise it adds 1 in the last login id e.g. First Name - Mark, Last Name - Waugh, First Login Id - MWaugh, Second Login Id - MWaugh1, Third Login Id - MWaugh2 etc. Stored Procedure SET ANSI_NULLS OFF GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[Users_FetchLoginId] ( @FirstName nvarchar(64), @LastName nvarchar(64), @LoginId nvarchar(256) OUTPUT ) AS DECLARE @UserId nvarchar(256); SET @UserId = NULL; SET @LoginId = NULL; SELECT @UserId = LoweredUserName FROM aspnet_Users WHERE LoweredUserName LIKE (LOWER(SUBSTRING(@FirstName,1,1) + @LastName)) IF @@rowcount = 0 OR @UserId IS NULL BEGIN SET @LoginId = (SUBSTRING(@FirstName, 1, 1) + @LastName); print @LoginId RETURN 1; END ELSE BEGIN SELECT TOP 1 LoweredUserName FROM aspnet_Users WHERE LoweredUserName LIKE (LOWER(SUBSTRING(@FirstName,1,1) + @LastName + '%')) ORDER BY LoweredUserName DESC RETURN 2; END Application Code public string FetchLoginId(string firstName, string lastName) { SubSonic.StoredProcedure sp = SPs.UsersFetchLoginId( firstName, lastName, null ); sp.Command.AddReturnParameter(); sp.Execute(); if (sp.Command.Parameters.Find(delegate(QueryParameter queryParameter) { return queryParameter.Mode == ParameterDirection.ReturnValue; }).ParameterValue != System.DBNull.Value) { int returnCode = Convert.ToInt32(sp.Command.Parameters.Find(delegate(QueryParameter queryParameter) { return queryParameter.Mode == ParameterDirection.ReturnValue; }).ParameterValue, CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); if (returnCode == 1) { // UserName as First Character of First Name & Full Last Name return sp.Command.Parameters[2].ParameterValue.ToString(); } if (returnCode == 2) { DataSet ds = sp.GetDataSet(); if (null == ds || null == ds.Tables[0] || 0 == ds.Tables[0].Rows.Count) return ""; string maxLoginId = ds.Tables[0].Rows[0]["LoweredUserName"].ToString(); string initialLoginId = firstName.Substring(0, 1) + lastName; int maxLoginIdIndex = 0; int initialLoginIdLength = initialLoginId.Length; if (maxLoginId.Substring(initialLoginIdLength).Length == 0) { maxLoginIdIndex++; // UserName as Max Lowered User Name Found & Incrementer as Suffix (Here, First Incrementer i.e. 1) return (initialLoginId + maxLoginIdIndex); } if (int.TryParse(maxLoginId.Substring(initialLoginIdLength), out maxLoginIdIndex)) { if (maxLoginIdIndex > 0) { maxLoginIdIndex++; // UserName as Max Lowered User Name Found & Incrementer as Suffix return (initialLoginId + maxLoginIdIndex); } } } } Now the problem is for some input (see test data below), the login id created at sql server end correctly but at application subsonic dal side, it truncates some characters. First Name - Jenelia and Last Name - Kanupatikenalaalayampentyalavelugoplansubhramanayam [dbo].[Users_FetchLoginId] - Execute Stored Procedure Separately - Login Id Is Correct JKanupatikenalaalayampentyalavelugoplansubhramanayam public string FetchLoginId(string firstName, string lastName) - Application Code DAL Side - LginId Is Wrongly Received From Stored Procedure JKanupatikenalaalayampentyalavelugoplansubhramanay You can easily see that 2 charactes are removed. If the data is correctly generated by stored procedure then why the characters are removed when data is received in output parameter of stored procedure? Is it due to any internal known or unknown bug of SubSonic? Your help is significant. Thanks in advance...

  • System Rescue CD on multiboot usb not working

    - by darkfeline
    I have a multiboot usb with System Rescue CD and GRUB2 on it. When I try to boot it, it tries to find systemrescuecd/sysrcd.dat, attempts to mount /dev/sr0 and all the partitions on /dev/sda before declaring cannot find systemrescuecd/sysrcd.dat on devices and dumping me onto a primitive shell. The relevant entries in grub.cfg: menuentry "SystemRescueCd 32bit" { linux /systemrescuecd/isolinux/rescuecd rootfs=/systemrescuecd subdir=systemrescuecd dostartx setkmap=us initrd /systemrescuecd/isolinux/initram.igz } menuentry "SystemRescueCd 64bit" { linux /systemrescuecd/isolinux/rescue64 rootfs=/systemrescuecd subdir=systemrescuecd dostartx setkmap=us initrd /systemrescuecd/isolinux/initram.igz } I think the problem is that System Rescue CD cannot see /dev/sdb, which is my usb, but I don't know where to begin to fix it. If it helps, I set up my USB with a utility called MultiSystem, which is like MultiISO for Linux.

  • Windows XP update not working

    - by Josh
    I have a problem with XP updating. It hangs when I try to search for updates on the website. But the automatic updates still work. And it's running IE6, so I'm trying to update to IE8, hoping that will fix the problems with the website. But when installing IE8 it just hangs at Installing Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP And if I try to install it manually, it hangs when installing the updates for IE8. So looking at these logs, is there anything going wrong with the update process? Here is the end of ie8_main.log: 00:00.547: Started: 2012/09/15 (Y/M/D) 08:14:31.046 (local) 00:00.719: Time Format in this log: MM:ss.mmm (minutes:seconds.milliseconds) 00:00.781: Command line: c:\cac6f883a91a15abdac3e9\update\iesetup.exe /wu-silent 00:00.828: INFO: Checking version for c:\cac6f883a91a15abdac3e9\update\iesetup.exe: 8.0.6001.18702 00:01.047: INFO: Acquired Package Installer Mutex 00:01.078: INFO: Operating System: Windows Workstation: 5.1.2600 (Service Pack 3) 00:01.328: ERROR: Couldn't read value: 'LIPPackage' from [Version] section in update.inf 00:01.359: INFO: Checking Prerequisites 00:01.391: INFO: Prerequisites Satisfied: Yes 00:01.484: INFO: Checking version for C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe: 6.0.2900.5512 00:01.516: INFO: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe version: 6.0.2900.5512 00:01.562: INFO: Checking if iexplore.exe's current version is between 8.0.6001.0... 00:01.594: INFO: ...and 8.1.0.0... 00:01.625: INFO: Maximum version on which to run IEAK branding is: 8.1.0.0... 00:01.656: INFO: iexplore.exe version check success. • Using windows command line from Pascal

    - by Jordan
    I'm trying to use some windows command line tools from within a short Pascal program. To make it easier, I'm writing a function called DoShell which takes a command line string as an argument and returns a record type called ShellResult, with one field for the process's exitcode and one field for the process's output text. I'm having major problems with some standard library functions not working as expected. The DOS Exec() function is not actually carrying out the command i pass to it. The Reset() procedure gives me a runtime error RunError(2) unless i set the compiler mode {I-}. In that case i get no runtime error, but the Readln() functions that i use on that file afterwards don't actually read anything, and furthermore the Writeln() functions used after that point in the code execution do nothing as well. Here's the source code of my program so far. I'm using Lazarus 0.9.28.2 beta, with Free Pascal Compiler 2.24 program project1; {$mode objfpc}{$H+} uses Classes, SysUtils, StrUtils, Dos { you can add units after this }; {$IFDEF WINDOWS}{$R project1.rc}{$ENDIF} type ShellResult = record output : AnsiString; exitcode : Integer; end; function DoShell(command: AnsiString): ShellResult; var exitcode: Integer; output: AnsiString; exepath: AnsiString; exeargs: AnsiString; splitat: Integer; F: Text; readbuffer: AnsiString; begin //Initialize variables exitcode := 0; output := ''; exepath := ''; exeargs := ''; splitat := 0; readbuffer := ''; Result.exitcode := 0; Result.output := ''; //Split command for processing splitat := NPos(' ', command, 1); exepath := Copy(command, 1, Pred(splitat)); exeargs := Copy(command, Succ(splitat), Length(command)); //Run command and put output in temporary file Exec(FExpand(exepath), exeargs + ' __output'); exitcode := DosExitCode(); //Get output from file Assign(F, '__output'); Reset(F); Repeat Readln(F, readbuffer); output := output + readbuffer; readbuffer := ''; Until Eof(F); //Set Result Result.exitcode := exitcode; Result.output := output; end; var I : AnsiString; R : ShellResult; begin Writeln('Enter a command line to run.'); Readln(I); R := DoShell(I); Writeln('Command Exit Code:'); Writeln(R.exitcode); Writeln('Command Output:'); Writeln(R.output); end.

  • Problems with wireless file copy - hangs during copy

    - by Eran Kampf
    I have this problem on my home network where when I try to copy files via wireless connection, at some point the copy fails and the machine doing the copy loses connection to the network. I'm pretty much lost as to figuring out the source for the problem... Some more details that might help: It's not OS related. I have Windows 7 machines and Leopard machines and this occurs on both I'm using a 3com OfficeConnect router Wired transfer works fine Other programs that require heavy wireless traffic work just fine:streaming large HD movies, Xbox Live! ... I'm lost as to how to even begin trying to diagnose the problem so any tips are welcome...

  • How to install Snow Leopard Server over Regular Snow Leopard

    - by SeniorShizzle
    I'm in the ADC so I have legitimate access to a free copy of Snow Leopard Server and licence key which I need to use to test my Push Notifications. I downloaded the software, and when I opened the .dmg I saw "Click to install Snow Leopard Server" which I did, and then it prompted me to restart the computer to begin installation. When the computer restarted, however, it just booted into my regular OS X partition. I kept trying to no avail. Obviously I'm missing something stupid here but I'm not a server admin so I don't know what to do :) The dmg is almost 6GB so I can't burn a DVD of it. I really need your help! Thanks guys!

  • How to hack airport extreme to support USB 3G modem?

    - by Mike Caron
    Has anyone out there ever tried to hack the Airport Extreme, specifically with regard to the USB port? There are many cellular routers available that provide WiFi sharing of a USB modem link. However, instead of buying yet another router, I'd like to use my expensive Airport Extreme with it. The AE has a USB port on the back, but it's been said that it only talks to printers. Is there a way to hack the USB driver on the AE to allow it to recognize a USB modem, then use that as the connectivity instead of the LAN? I would imagine that one could use OpenFirmware to boot something on the AE. If one can boot it, then one could provide access using SSH across the lan. Once access is granted, then let the hacking begin... but I don't know how to (a) get the mini-osx on to USB (is it the same as the ATV without a UI?) or (b) how to load up certain things once boot has begun.

  • issue with std::advance on std::sets

    - by tim
    I've stumbled upon what I believe is a bug in the stl algorithm advance. When I'm advancing the iterator off of the end of the container, I get inconsistent results. Sometimes I get container.end(), sometimes I get the last element. I've illustrated this with the following code: #include <algorithm> #include <cstdio> #include <set> using namespace std; typedef set<int> tMap; int main(int argc, char** argv) { tMap::iterator i; tMap the_map; for (int i=0; i<10; i++) the_map.insert(i); #if EXPERIMENT==1 i = the_map.begin(); #elif EXPERIMENT==2 i = the_map.find(4); #elif EXPERIMENT==3 i = the_map.find(5); #elif EXPERIMENT==4 i = the_map.find(6); #elif EXPERIMENT==5 i = the_map.find(9); #elif EXPERIMENT==6 i = the_map.find(2000); #else i = the_map.end(); #endif advance(i, 100); if (i == the_map.end()) printf("the end\n"); else printf("wuh? %d\n", *i); return 0; } Which I get the following unexpected (according to me) behavior in experiment 3 and 5 where I get the last element instead of the_map.end().   • OpenVPN won't start on ubuntu - PID not found

    - by you8301083
    I am running ubuntu version 12.04 LTS and I have installed OpenVPN on it. After a while of troubleshooting why my client won't connect (I have generated keys and confligured the client), I ran 'service openvpn status' from the command line and received the following error: could not access PID file for VPN 'server' I have rebooted, started and restarted the service, but each time I check the status, I receive the PID error. I'm pretty sure that I can't connect because the service isn't running. Where can I begin troubleshooting this? I don't know what to look for. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Issue with Autofac 2 and MVC2 using HttpRequestScoped

    - by Page Brooks
    I'm running into an issue with Autofac2 and MVC2. The problem is that I am trying to resolve a series of dependencies where the root dependency is HttpRequestScoped. When I try to resolve my UnitOfWork (which is Disposable), Autofac fails because the internal disposer is trying to add the UnitOfWork object to an internal disposal list which is null. Maybe I'm registering my dependencies with the wrong lifetimes, but I've tried many different combinations with no luck. The only requirement I have is that MyDataContext lasts for the entire HttpRequest. I've posted a demo version of the code for download here. Autofac modules are set up in web.config Global.asax.cs protected void Application_Start() { string connectionString = "something"; var builder = new ContainerBuilder(); builder.Register(c => new MyDataContext(connectionString)).As<IDatabase>().HttpRequestScoped(); builder.RegisterType<UnitOfWork>().As<IUnitOfWork>().InstancePerDependency(); builder.RegisterType<MyService>().As<IMyService>().InstancePerDependency(); builder.RegisterControllers(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly()); _containerProvider = new ContainerProvider(builder.Build()); IoCHelper.InitializeWith(new AutofacDependencyResolver(_containerProvider.RequestLifetime)); ControllerBuilder.Current.SetControllerFactory(new AutofacControllerFactory(ContainerProvider)); AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas(); RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); } AutofacDependencyResolver.cs public class AutofacDependencyResolver { private readonly ILifetimeScope _scope; public AutofacDependencyResolver(ILifetimeScope scope) { _scope = scope; } public T Resolve<T>() { return _scope.Resolve<T>(); } } IoCHelper.cs public static class IoCHelper { private static AutofacDependencyResolver _resolver; public static void InitializeWith(AutofacDependencyResolver resolver) { _resolver = resolver; } public static T Resolve<T>() { return _resolver.Resolve<T>(); } } UnitOfWork.cs public interface IUnitOfWork : IDisposable { void Commit(); } public class UnitOfWork : IUnitOfWork { private readonly IDatabase _database; public UnitOfWork(IDatabase database) { _database = database; } public static IUnitOfWork Begin() { return IoCHelper.Resolve<IUnitOfWork>(); } public void Commit() { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("Commiting"); _database.SubmitChanges(); } public void Dispose() { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("Disposing"); } } MyDataContext.cs public interface IDatabase { void SubmitChanges(); } public class MyDataContext : IDatabase { private readonly string _connectionString; public MyDataContext(string connectionString) { _connectionString = connectionString; } public void SubmitChanges() { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("Submiting Changes"); } } MyService.cs public interface IMyService { void Add(); } public class MyService : IMyService { private readonly IDatabase _database; public MyService(IDatabase database) { _database = database; } public void Add() { // Use _database. } } HomeController.cs public class HomeController : Controller { private readonly IMyService _myService; public HomeController(IMyService myService) { _myService = myService; } public ActionResult Index() { // NullReferenceException is thrown when trying to // resolve UnitOfWork here. // Doesn't always happen on the first attempt. using(var unitOfWork = UnitOfWork.Begin()) { _myService.Add(); unitOfWork.Commit(); } return View(); } public ActionResult About() { return View(); } }

  • How to create a shared lock blocking an intent exclusive lock

    - by FremenFreedom
    As I understand it, a SELECT statement will place a shared lock on the rows that it will return. While that SELECT is running, if an UPDATE statement comes along and needs to grab an intent exclusive lock then that UPDATE statement will need to wait until the SELECT statement releases its shared locks. I am trying to test this SELECT shared lock thing by doing a BEGIN TRAN and then running a SELECT, not COMMITing, and then running an UPDATE in another session on the exact same row. The UPDATE worked fine -- no lock, no wait. So this must not be a valid way to simulate a shared lock blocking an intent exclusive lock? Can you give me a scenario where I can create a lock with a SELECT that would force an UPDATE to wait? I'm working with SQL Server 2000 and 2005 across a linked server: the table is on the 2005 instance, the select is happening on 2000, and the update is executed from 2005. All in SSMS 2005.

  • Storyboard apply to all labels

    - by ThitoO
    Hi everyone ! I whant to apply a little storyboard to a collection of labels in my window. My storyboard is like that : <Storyboard x:Key="Storyboard1" AutoReverse="True" RepeatBehavior="Forever"> <ColorAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="label" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(Label.Foreground).(SolidColorBrush.Color)"> <SplineColorKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.1000000" Value="#FFFFFF"/> </ColorAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> I have a window composed of that : <Grid Background="#FF000000"> <Viewbox HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center" Stretch="Uniform"> <UniformGrid x:Name="grid" Background="#FF000000" /> </Viewbox> </Grid> When I want to start my storyboard I do that : Storyboard.SetTarget( _stb, myLabel ); _stb.Begin(); where _std is my storyboard loaded by the window's resources. The animation works fine, but on all labels (not only the one I want). I tried to switch SetTarget by SetTargetName but labels are created into my window by the constructor and names can not be founded when I try "SetTargetName". Do you have any ideas ? Thanks :) ------------ Edit : We asked me to be more descriptive -------------------------------------------------------------------- Label are not created directly in the xaml, they are created by the constructor of the window : public SpellerWindow(IKeyboard keyboard, int colomnNumber, SolidColorBrush background, SolidColorBrush foreground ) { InitializeComponent(); grid.Columns = colomnNumber; int i = 0; foreach( IKey key in keyboard.Zones.Default.Keys ) { Label lb = new Label(); lb.Foreground = foreground; lb.Name = "label"+(i++).ToString(); lb.Content = key.ActualKeys[keyboard.CurrentMode].UpLabel; lb.HorizontalAlignment = HorizontalAlignment.Center; lb.VerticalAlignment = VerticalAlignment.Center; Viewbox box = new Viewbox(); box.Stretch = Stretch.Fill; box.Child = lb; box.Tag = key; grid.Children.Add( box ); } } Animations are started by an event handler : void Highlighter_StartAnimation( object sender, HiEventArgs e ) { Storyboard stb; if( !_anims.TryGetValue( e.Step.Animation.Name, out stb ) ) { stb = (Storyboard)_window.FindResource( e.Step.Animation.Name ); _anims.Add( e.Step.Animation.Name, stb ); } DoAnimations( _zones[e.Step.Zone], stb ); } Finally, animations are started by DoAnimations : void DoAnimations( List<Label> labels, Storyboard stb ) { foreach( Label lb in labels ) { Storyboard.SetTarget( stb, lb ); stb.Begin(); } } I want to highlight a collection of labels, but all labels are flashing. I don't know why, but I try to create a label into the Xaml directly, and set a Storyboard.TargetName (bound to the name of the label) in the Xaml of the storyboard. And it's working ... Now you know everything. Thanks for you help :)

  • Trying to configure domain-based access via htaccess file.

    - by kenja
    I've created an account with no-ip.com that registers my ip with a subdomain of their service. When I do an nslookup, I see that the service is working and that my domain is being shown. Now I want to provide access to that subdomain on the admin site of our server which is protected by htaccess IP restrictions. When I try to add the new domain to my script it does not work. Am I doing something wrong? • ASMX Web Services with SOAP Extension

    - by digitall
    I am in the process of setting up a web service for an external client to connect to my client's application and update some information. I went the ASMX route (the rest of the application runs on WCF) because I knew the external client could be very difficult to deal with and I was trying to keep everything as simple as possible. They also aren't a .Net shop which makes things worse. After getting the service setup for them I provided the ASMX URL for them to see how to format the SOAP headers/message content. They have since come back and told me their tool is unable to send them in the format required by .Net and I can either come up with a different way to accept messages or we have to go with FTP. Based on this I have been researching how to intercept their message, reformat it the way my service requires it (which means adding two lines), and then let it process. This path led me to SOAP Extensions which I have been trying to work with but can't seem to figure out. When I have my sample application call the web service from the generated code Add Web Reference provides everything works great until I add in my extension. All it currently does is override ChainStream setting an internal stream equal to the one being passed in and returning a new stream, like this: private Stream newStream = null; private Stream oldStream = null; public override Stream ChainStream(Stream stream) { this.oldStream = stream; this.newStream = new MemoryStream(); return newStream; } I also override ProcessMessage and in it take the contents of oldStream and set newStream equal to that and then write to a different stream with an XmlWriter. I take that new stream and using a StreamReader read it into a string, with the end goal being manipulating it here and setting newStream (which is being used by ChainStream) equal to the contents of this. Here is that piece: public override void ProcessMessage(SoapMessage message) { switch (message.Stage) { case SoapMessageStage.BeforeDeserialize: this.Process(); break; default: break; } } private void Process() { this.newStream.Position = 0L; XmlTextReader reader = new XmlTextReader(this.oldStream); MemoryStream outStream = new MemoryStream(); using (XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(outStream)) { do { writer.WriteNode(reader, true); } while (reader.Read()); writer.Flush(); } outStream.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin); StreamReader streamReader = new StreamReader(outStream); string message = streamReader.ReadToEnd(); newStream = outStream; newStream.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin); streamReader.Close(); } By running this, which seems to me like it would be fine, my test application gets a 400 Bad Request back from the service. If I either don't use the extension or I don't do anything in ProcessMessage everything seems fine. Any suggestions to this? As a side note, once I get this working with the generated code from the WSDL I will be moving to a WebRequest to try sending the message to the service. Currently that bombs out with a 415 Unsupported Media Type response. I'm trying to keep this post to one question but if anyone has any tips with using a WebRequest to connect to an ASMX service it would be much appreciated!

  • disallow anonymous bind in openldap

    Folks, I have followed the instructions here http://tuxnetworks.blogspot.com/2010/06/howto-ldap-server-on-1004-lucid-lynx.html to setup my OpenLdap and its working just fine, except an anonymous user can bind to my server and see the whole user/group structure. LDAP is running over SSL. I have read online that i can add disallow bind_anon and require authc in the slapd.conf file and it will be disabled but there is no slapd.conf file to begin with and since this doesn't use slapd.conf for its configuration as i understand OpenLdap has moved to a cn=config setup so it wont read that file even if i create one. i have looked online without any luck. • How do I lookup a 'quantity' of items in excel?

    Let's say I have a quatity of items: 1 2 3 4 5 4 3 2 1 2 3 4 in a column of cells. What I want to be able to do is count the quantity how many unique "items" there are in this array: 1 -- 2 2 -- 3 3 -- 3 4 .. 3 And so forth. I want the table to look like this: Also, is there a way to accomplish this if I don't know all of the values of the array to begin with? I'm looking for a way to have excel search an array, find a unique value, count how many times that value is in the array, and then move onto the next values.

  • Changing Commenting behavior for ruby in Aptana Studio

When I try to use Ctrl+Shift+/ it inserts a comment of this form: =begin My lines of code My lines of code My lines of code My lines of code My lines of code =end I would like the Ctrl+Shift+/ to be defaulted to toggle commenting with '# ' instead. I have gone to the key preferences and tried changing PyDev toggle comment to Ctrl+Shift+/ but it doesn't work. It must be picking that behavior from somewhere else. What do I need to change so that I get the IDE to behave like I want. Ted.

  • SQL Server "Long running transaction" performance counter: why no workee?

    - by Sleepless
    Please explain to me the following observation: I have the following piece of T-SQL code that I run from SSMS: BEGIN TRAN SELECT COUNT (*) FROM m WHERE m.[x] = 123456 or m.[y] IN (SELECT f.x FROM f) SELECT COUNT (*) FROM m WHERE m.[x] = 123456 or m.[y] IN (SELECT f.x FROM f) COMMIT TRAN The query takes about twenty seconds to run. I have no other user queries running on the server. Under these circumstances, I would expect the performance counter "MSSQL$SQLInstanceName:Transactions\Longest Transaction Running Time" to rise constantly up to a value of 20 and then drop rapidly. Instead, it rises to around 12 within two seconds and then oscillates between 12 and 14 for the duration of the query after which it drops again. According to the MS docs, the counter measures "The length of time (in seconds) since the start of the transaction that has been active longer than any other current transaction." But apparently, it doesn't. What gives?

  • LFD always stops working after ~30 days, until I give /etc/csf/csf.pl -r

    - by gus
    When I give /etc/csf/csf.pl -r , I see lots of lines flushing, then I begin to get the notification emails again, (several emails per day), for example: Time: Wed Sep 12 08:39:47 2012 +0800 IP: 221.13.104.162 (CN/China/-) Failures: 5 (sshd) Interval: 300 seconds Blocked: Permanent Block Log entries: Sep 12 08:39:25 MyHost sshd[9677]: Failed password for root from 221.13.104.162 port 51106 ssh2 Sep 12 08:39:28 MyHost sshd[9712]: Failed password for root from 221.13.104.162 port 51690 ssh2 Sep 12 08:39:32 MyHost sshd[9739]: Failed password for root from 221.13.104.162 port 52128 ssh2 Sep 12 08:39:36 MyHost sshd[9778]: Failed password for root from 221.13.104.162 port 52670 ssh2 Sep 12 08:39:40 MyHost sshd[9821]: Failed password for root from 221.13.104.162 port 53155 ssh2 And then after about 30 days, the emails stop coming, it is as if something has filled up, and requires flushing again. I don't know much about CSF/LFD, but I would have imagined that this would work in a FIFO manner, so it should be able to run indefinitely within finite space. My /etc/csf/version.txt says 4.83 My cat /proc/version says Linux version 2.6.18-028stab066.8 (root@rhel5-64-build) (gcc version 4.1.2 20070626 (Red Hat 4.1.2-14)) #1 SMP Fri Nov 27 20:19:25 MSK 2009
