  • Why does "xsd:date" of XML Schema Type mapped "javax.xml.datatype.XMLGregorianCalendar" When Schema-to-Java Mapping of JAXB does.

    - by Take
I don't know why does "xsd:date" of XML Schema Type mapped "javax.xml.datatype.XMLGregorianCalendar" When Schema-to-Java Mapping of JAXB does. Why does "xsd:date" of XML Schema Type mapped "java.util.Date" ? I guess that JAXB intentionally does its mapping. I want to know that reason if any. And if exists it, how to change "xsd:date" of XML Schema Type to "java.util.Date" of Java class without using annotation(ex.@XmlJavaTypeAdapter). I want to do mashalling and unmarshalling without all annotations.

  • Loading an XML file with todays date in the filename... need to fallback to old file if one with tod

    - by arala22
    So here is my question. Using javascript/jQuery I am currently loading in an XML file that has a file name such as carousel_large_2010-06-08.xml.. the way I am doing it is checked for todays date then grabbing a file that has that date in the filename... the issue is sometimes they wont be uploading a new file for a given day so it needs to fallback to a older date that exists.. Wondering how to do it? Here is my code: // set date for xml file var currentTime = new Date(), month = currentTime.getMonth() + 1, day = currentTime.getDate(), year = currentTime.getFullYear(); if(month.toString().length == 1){ month = '0'+month.toString(); } if(day.toString().length == 1){ day = '0'+day.toString(); } var dateObject = year+"-"+month+"-"+day; // start magic $jq.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "_xml/carousel/home/carousel_large_"+dateObject+".xml", dataType: "xml", success: HPCarousels.heroCarousel.parseXML, error: function(){ alert('Error Loading XML Content'); } });

  • ASP.NET: What's the best way to validate 3 drop downs boxes that are used to select a date (month, d

    - by Josh
I have two sets of drop downs for start date and end date. Each date is created by selecting a month, day, and year from 3 separate drop downs. I currently have RequiredFieldValidators on all the drop downs (which just shows a * if nothing has been selected yet), but I need to validate that the end date is greater than the start date. I can take care of the logic behind comparing the dates, but in terms of the validation method used, can someone help me out (I essentially need to validate 6 drop downs all at one time)? I tried a custom validation using client side javascript but couldn't get it to work. Can you even validate multiple drop downs using ASP.NET validation controls? (which is what I would like to do - I can always write the javascript, but was trying to stay away from this). Thanks.

  • How to deserialize JSON text into a date type using Windows 8 JSON.parse?

    - by canderso
I'm building a Windows 8 Metro app (aka "Modern UI Style" or "Windows Store app") in HTML5/JavaScript consuming JSON Web Services and I'm bumping into the following issue: in which format should my JSON Web Services serialize dates for the Windows 8 Metro JSON.parse method to deserialize those in a date type? I tried: sending dates using the ISO-8601 format, (JSON.parse returns a string), sending dates such as "/Date(1198908717056)/" as explained here (same result). I'm starting to doubt that Windows 8's JSON.parse method supports dates as even when parsing the output of its own JSON.stringify method does not return a date type. Example: var d = new Date(); // => a new date var str = JSON.stringify(d); // str is a string => "\"2012-07-10T14:44:00.000Z\"" var date2 = JSON.parse(str); // date2 is a string => "2012-07-10T14:44:00.000Z"

  • How do I find all the datetimes that happen on a particular date in ruby?

    - by Angela
I have a method which goes through each day of the week: def dates_week(d, delim) "<tr>" + (d.beginning_of_week...(d.beginning_of_week+5)).map do |day| "<#{delim}> #{yield(day)} </#{delim}>" end.join + "</tr>" end For each day of the week, I plug that as an arg into a method (or maybe a named_scope, haven't figured out which), that will then output the .count for :all the emails that have a :date_sent on that date. However, :date_sent is a date-timestamp, so I can't use == as I have below. def sent_emails_by_date(date) ContactEmail.find(:all, :conditions => "date_sent = '#{date}'" " ).count end How do I find all the emails that fall on the day for the date passed through from the method which loops through a week as shown above?

  • XSLT transformation by grouping based on 3 elements/attributes

    - by Daniel
    This question is related to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2863202/xslt-1-0-grouping-to-reformat-element-defined-by-date-into-element-defined-by-tas Just to understand more clearly the trick behind. How would the XSLT look like if we were to group by date, task and shift as below: Input XML; <Person> <name>John</name> <date>June12</date> <shift tier=1> <workTime taskID=1>34</workTime> <workTime taskID=2>12</workTime> </shift> <shift tier=2> <workTime taskID=1>3</workTime> </shift> </Person> <Person> <name>John</name> <date>June13</date> <shift tier=1> <workTime taskID=1>21</workTime> <workTime taskID=2>11</workTime> </shift> <shift tier=2> <workTime taskID=1>2</workTime> </shift> </Person> and similarly, the output would be <Person> <name>John</name> <tier>1</tier> <taskID>1</taskID> <workTime> <date>June12</date> <time>34</time> </worTime> <workTime> <date>June13</date> <time>21</time> </worTime> </Person> <Person> <name>John</name> <tier>1</tier> <taskID>2</taskID> <workTime> <date>June12</date> <time>12</time> </worTime> <workTime> <date>June13</date> <time>11</time> </worTime> </Person> <Person> <name>John</name> <tier>2</tier> <taskID>1</taskID> <workTime> <date>June12</date> <time>3</time> </worTime> <workTime> <date>June13</date> <time>2</time> </worTime> </Person>

  • Javascript help fixing a working time ago date function to simply show seconds ago.

    - by Scarface
    Hey guys quick question, I am using a javascript function and it works except I can only make it say 0 seconds ago, when the time is under a minute. Can anyone quickly explain what I am doing wrong? function handleDate( timestamp ) { var n=new Date(), t, ago = " "; if( timestamp ) { t = Math.round( (n.getTime()/1000 - timestamp)/60 ); ago += handleSinceDateEndings( t, timestamp ); } else { ago += ""; } return ago; } function handleSinceDateEndings( t, original_timestamp ) { var ago = " ", date; if( t <= 1 ) { ago += t + " seconds ago"; } else if( t<60) { ago += t + " mins ago"; } else if( t>= 60 && t<= 120) { ago += Math.floor( t / 60 ) + " hour ago" } else if( t<1440 ) { //console.log(t) ago += Math.floor( t / 60 ) + " hours ago"; } else if( t< 2880) { ago += "1 day ago"; } else if( t > 2880 && t < 4320 ) { ago += "2 days ago"; } else { date = new Date( parseInt( original_timestamp )*1000 ) ago += months[ date.getMonth() ] + " " + date.getDate(); } return ago; } var months = ["January", "February", "March", "April", "May", "June", "July", "August", "September", "October", "November", "December"];

  • MS Acess SQL - where clause to get year from date based on the year - data located in MS access form

    - by primus285
OK, back again. I have a problem getting a drop down list to populate based on information in two fields. I have got the SQL correct as to Select just one year if I put DateValue('01/01/2001') in both places, but I am trying now to get it to grab the year data from the MS access form - another drop down named "cboYear". I'd hate to have to do something in VB, unless necessary. so far I have gotten this to pull up something (its always incorrect) SELECT DISTINCT Database_New.ASEC FROM Database_New WHERE Database_New.Date>=DateValue('01/01/' & [cboYear]) And Database_New.Date<=DateValue('12/31/' & [cboYear]); and SELECT DISTINCT Database_New.ASEC FROM Database_New WHERE Database_New.Date>=DateValue('01/01/' + [cboYear]) And Database_New.Date<=DateValue('12/31/' + [cboYear]); SELECT DISTINCT Database_New.ASEC FROM Database_New WHERE Database_New.Date>=DateValue('01/01/' AND [cboYear]) And Database_New.Date<=DateValue('12/31/' AND [cboYear]); both give errors saying that it is too complex to compute. Its probably something simple, but where do I go from here?

  • Lucene.Net: How can I add a date filter to my search results?

    - by rockinthesixstring
I've got my searcher working really well, however it does tend to return results that are obsolete. My site is much like NerdDinner whereby events in the past become irrelevant. I'm currently indexing like this Public Function AddIndex(ByVal searchableEvent As [Event]) As Boolean Implements ILuceneService.AddIndex Dim writer As New IndexWriter(luceneDirectory, New StandardAnalyzer(), False) Dim doc As Document = New Document doc.Add(New Field("id", searchableEvent.ID, Field.Store.YES, Field.Index.UN_TOKENIZED)) doc.Add(New Field("fullText", FullTextBuilder(searchableEvent), Field.Store.YES, Field.Index.TOKENIZED)) doc.Add(New Field("user", If(searchableEvent.User.UserName = Nothing, "User" & searchableEvent.User.ID, searchableEvent.User.UserName), Field.Store.YES, Field.Index.TOKENIZED)) doc.Add(New Field("title", searchableEvent.Title, Field.Store.YES, Field.Index.TOKENIZED)) doc.Add(New Field("location", searchableEvent.Location.Name, Field.Store.YES, Field.Index.TOKENIZED)) doc.Add(New Field("date", searchableEvent.EventDate, Field.Store.YES, Field.Index.UN_TOKENIZED)) writer.AddDocument(doc) writer.Optimize() writer.Close() Return True End Function Notice how I have a "date" index that stores the event date. My search then looks like this ''# code omitted Dim reader As IndexReader = IndexReader.Open(luceneDirectory) Dim searcher As IndexSearcher = New IndexSearcher(reader) Dim parser As QueryParser = New QueryParser("fullText", New StandardAnalyzer()) Dim query As Query = parser.Parse(q.ToLower) ''# We're using 10,000 as the maximum number of results to return ''# because I have a feeling that we'll never reach that full amount ''# anyways. And if we do, who in their right mind is going to page ''# through all of the results? Dim topDocs As TopDocs = searcher.Search(query, Nothing, 10000) Dim doc As Document = Nothing ''# loop through the topDocs and grab the appropriate 10 results based ''# on the submitted page number While i <= last AndAlso i < topDocs.totalHits doc = searcher.Doc(topDocs.scoreDocs(i).doc) IDList.Add(doc.[Get]("id")) i += 1 End While ''# code omitted I did try the following, but it was to no avail (threw a NullReferenceException). While i <= last AndAlso i < topDocs.totalHits If Date.Parse(doc.[Get]("date")) >= Date.Today Then doc = searcher.Doc(topDocs.scoreDocs(i).doc) IDList.Add(doc.[Get]("id")) i += 1 End If End While I also found the following documentation, but I can't make heads or tails of it http://lucene.apache.org/java/1_4_3/api/org/apache/lucene/search/DateFilter.html

  • Javascript DateFormat for different timezones

    - by Elie
I'm a Java developer and I'm used to the SimpleDateFormat class that allows me to format any date to any format by settings a timezone. Date date = new Date(); SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MM-yyyy hh:mm:ss"); sdf.setTimeZone(TimeZone.getTimeZone("America/Los_Angeles")); System.out.println(sdf.format(date)); // Prints date in Los Angeles sdf.setTimeZone(TimeZone.getTimeZone("America/Chicago")); System.out.println(sdf.format(date)); // Prints same date in Chicago SimpleDateFormat is a pretty neat solution in Java but unfortunately I can't find any similar alternative in Javascript. I'm extending the Date prototype in Javascript to do exactly the same. I have dates in Unix format but I want to format them in different timezones. Date.prototype.format = function(format, timezone) { // Now what? return formattedDate; } I'm looking for a neat way to do this rather than a hack. Thanks

  • Throwing exception vs returning null value with switch statement

    - by Greg
So I have function that formats a date to coerce to given enum DateType{CURRENT, START, END} what would be the best way to handling return value with cases that use switch statement public static String format(Date date, DateType datetype) { ..validation checks switch(datetype){ case CURRENT:{ return getFormattedDate(date, "yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss"); } ... default:throw new ("Something strange happend"); } } OR throw excpetion at the end public static String format(Date date, DateType datetype) { ..validation checks switch(datetype){ case CURRENT:{ return getFormattedDate(date, "yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss"); } ... } //It will never reach here, just to make compiler happy throw new IllegalArgumentException("Something strange happend"); } OR return null public static String format(Date date, DateType datetype) { ..validation checks switch(datetype){ case CURRENT:{ return getFormattedDate(date, "yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss"); } ... } return null; } What would be the best practice here ? Also all the enum values will be handled in the case statement

  • xsd:datetime and XmlGregorianCalendar causes NullPointerException

    - by Draemon
The following works: public Date getDate() { return date; } and produces something like: <date>2010-03-23T17:43:50.879Z</date> And I can use an XmlGregorianCalendar to return xsd:date or xsd:time types fine: @XmlSchemaType(name="date") public XmlGregorianCalendar getDate() { return date; } which produces something like: <date>2010-03-23</date> But trying to return xsd:datetime like so: @XmlSchemaType(name="datetime") public XmlGregorianCalendar getDate() { return date; } Causes this stack trace: java.lang.NullPointerException at com.sun.xml.bind.v2.model.impl.RuntimeBuiltinLeafInfoImpl.checkXmlGregorianCalendarFieldRef(RuntimeBuiltinLeafInfoImpl.java:864) at com.sun.xml.bind.v2.model.impl.RuntimeBuiltinLeafInfoImpl.access$200(RuntimeBuiltinLeafInfoImpl.java:111) at com.sun.xml.bind.v2.model.impl.RuntimeBuiltinLeafInfoImpl$13.print(RuntimeBuiltinLeafInfoImpl.java:536) ...snip... at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:852) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11Protocol.java:588) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$Worker.run(JIoEndpoint.java:489) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) Which doesn't mention my code at all. • How do I change the Creation/Mod Date of all folders on a USB drive using Touch command?

    - by Chad--24216
I've got a USB drive with mp3 music on it that I play in my car. My car has a USB drive port. Problem is that the car sorts the music by Creation/Modification Date (and not alphabetically). This makes it a pain to find what artist I'm looking for. To solve this problem, I need a way to "update" the Creation/Modification Date for all folders on the USB drive every time I add a new folder of music to the USB drive. Anyone know how I can do this? The Touch command works great, but the format touch <filename> would take forever to do on each folder on the drive. Anyway to select all folders on the drive and then touch <all folders>? On my USB drive I have a folder for each album and the songs within each respective folder, like so: Album-1-folder Album-2-folder I need to apply the Touch command to each of the "album" folders on the drive. I stumbled upon a simple solution to solve this issue:touch /media/USB_Drive/*

  • How can you force the start and end date of a task in Microsoft Project to be on the same day?

    - by Hauke P.
I have a task called "Interview person A about topic X". The task's duration is set to 2 hours. The start date of the task should automatically be calculated taking dependencies and resource availabilities into account. My question boils down to: How can I force this task to start and end on the same date? Background: In my case, Microsoft Project sets the start date to a Friday at 5pm. As my working hours are set to 8am to 12am and 1pm to 6pm (Mon-Fri), Microsoft Project "splits up" the task at 6pm on Friday and plans to continue it at 8am on the following Monday. However, it does not make any sense to stop the interview on a Friday and restart it on Monday. Therefore the automatic suggestion is not helpful in this case. That's why I'm looking for a way way to force the task to start and end on the very same day. (In my example, I'd like Microsoft Project to delay the start date of the task until Monday 8am as this is the first time slot in which the task "fits in completely".) By the way: I have lots of such cases... for that reason it would be really great if there was a solution that doesn't just deal with this single special case.)

  • September 2011 Release of the Ajax Control Toolkit

    - by Stephen Walther
I’m happy to announce the release of the September 2011 Ajax Control Toolkit. This release has several important new features including: Date ranges – When using the Calendar extender, you can specify a start and end date and a user can pick only those dates which fall within the specified range. This was the fourth top-voted feature request for the Ajax Control Toolkit at CodePlex. Twitter Control – You can use the new Twitter control to display recent tweets associated with a particular Twitter user or tweets which match a search query. Gravatar Control – You can use the new Gravatar control to display a unique image for each user of your website. Users can upload custom images to the Gravatar.com website or the Gravatar control can display a unique, auto-generated, image for a user. You can download this release this very minute by visiting CodePlex: http://AjaxControlToolkit.CodePlex.com Alternatively, you can execute the following command from the Visual Studio NuGet console: Improvements to the Ajax Control Toolkit Calendar Control The Ajax Control Toolkit Calendar extender control is one of the most heavily used controls from the Ajax Control Toolkit. The developers on the Superexpert team spent the last sprint focusing on improving this control. There are three important changes that we made to the Calendar control: we added support for date ranges, we added support for highlighting today’s date, and we made fixes to several bugs related to time zones and daylight savings. Using Calendar Date Ranges One of the top-voted feature requests for the Ajax Control Toolkit was a request to add support for date ranges to the Calendar control (this was the fourth most voted feature request at CodePlex). With the latest release of the Ajax Control Toolkit, the Calendar extender now supports date ranges. For example, the following page illustrates how you can create a popup calendar which allows a user only to pick dates between March 2, 2009 and May 16, 2009. <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="CalendarDateRange.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.CalendarDateRange" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="asp" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" %> <html> <head runat="server"> <title>Calendar Date Range</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm" runat="server" /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtHotelReservationDate" runat="server" /> <asp:CalendarExtender ID="Calendar1" TargetControlID="txtHotelReservationDate" StartDate="3/2/2009" EndDate="5/16/2009" SelectedDate="3/2/2009" runat="server" /> </form> </body> </html> This page contains three controls: an Ajax Control Toolkit ToolkitScriptManager control, a standard ASP.NET TextBox control, and an Ajax Control Toolkit CalendarExtender control. Notice that the Calendar control includes StartDate and EndDate properties which restrict the range of valid dates. The Calendar control shows days, months, and years outside of the valid range as struck out. You cannot select days, months, or years which fall outside of the range. The following video illustrates interacting with the new date range feature: If you want to experiment with a live version of the Ajax Control Toolkit Calendar extender control then you can visit the Calendar Sample Page at the Ajax Control Toolkit Sample Site. Highlighted Today’s Date Another highly requested feature for the Calendar control was support for highlighting today’s date. The Calendar control now highlights the user’s current date regardless of the user’s time zone. Fixes to Time Zone and Daylight Savings Time Bugs We fixed several significant Calendar extender bugs related to time zones and daylight savings time. For example, previously, when you set the Calendar control’s SelectedDate property to the value 1/1/2007 then the selected data would appear as 12/31/2006 or 1/1/2007 or 1/2/2007 depending on the server time zone. For example, if your server time zone was set to Samoa (UTC-11:00), then setting SelectedDate=”1/1/2007” would result in “12/31/2006” being selected in the Calendar. Users of the Calendar extender control found this behavior confusing. After careful consideration, we decided to change the Calendar extender so that it interprets all dates as UTC dates. In other words, if you set StartDate=”1/1/2007” then the Calendar extender parses the date as 1/1/2007 UTC instead of parsing the date according to the server time zone. By interpreting all dates as UTC dates, we avoid all of the reported issues with the SelectedDate property showing the wrong date. Furthermore, when you set the StartDate and EndDate properties, you know that the same StartDate and EndDate will be selected regardless of the time zone associated with the server or associated with the browser. The date 1/1/2007 will always be the date 1/1/2007. The New Twitter Control This release of the Ajax Control Toolkit introduces a new twitter control. You can use the Twitter control to display recent tweets associated with a particular twitter user. You also can use this control to show the results of a twitter search. The following page illustrates how you can use the Twitter control to display recent tweets made by Scott Hanselman: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="TwitterProfile.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.TwitterProfile" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="asp" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" %> <html > <head runat="server"> <title>Twitter Profile</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm" runat="server" /> <asp:Twitter ID="Twitter1" ScreenName="shanselman" runat="server" /> </form> </body> </html> This page includes two Ajax Control Toolkit controls: the ToolkitScriptManager control and the Twitter control. The Twitter control is set to display tweets from Scott Hanselman (shanselman): You also can use the Twitter control to display the results of a search query. For example, the following page displays all recent tweets related to the Ajax Control Toolkit: Twitter limits the number of times that you can interact with their API in an hour. Twitter recommends that you cache results on the server (https://dev.twitter.com/docs/rate-limiting). By default, the Twitter control caches results on the server for a duration of 5 minutes. You can modify the cache duration by assigning a value (in seconds) to the Twitter control's CacheDuration property. The Twitter control wraps a standard ASP.NET ListView control. You can customize the appearance of the Twitter control by modifying its LayoutTemplate, StatusTemplate, AlternatingStatusTemplate, and EmptyDataTemplate. To learn more about the new Twitter control, visit the live Twitter Sample Page. The New Gravatar Control The September 2011 release of the Ajax Control Toolkit also includes a new Gravatar control. This control makes it easy to display a unique image for each user of your website. A Gravatar is associated with an email address. You can visit Gravatar.com and upload an image and associate the image with your email address. That way, every website which uses Gravatars (such as the www.ASP.NET website) will display your image next to your name. For example, I visited the Gravatar.com website and associated an image of a Koala Bear with the email address [email protected]. The following page illustrates how you can use the Gravatar control to display the Gravatar image associated with the [email protected] email address: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="GravatarDemo.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.GravatarDemo" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="asp" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" %> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <title>Gravatar Demo</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm" runat="server" /> <asp:Gravatar ID="Gravatar1" Email="[email protected]" runat="server" /> </form> </body> </html> The page above simply displays the Gravatar image associated with the [email protected] email address: If a user has not uploaded an image to Gravatar.com then you can auto-generate a unique image for the user from the user email address. The Gravatar control supports four types of auto-generated images: Identicon -- A different geometric pattern is generated for each unrecognized email. MonsterId -- A different image of a monster is generated for each unrecognized email. Wavatar -- A different image of a face is generated for each unrecognized email. Retro -- A different 8-bit arcade-style face is generated for each unrecognized email. For example, there is no Gravatar image associated with the email address [email protected]. The following page displays an auto-generated MonsterId for this email address: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="GravatarMonster.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.GravatarMonster" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="asp" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" %> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <title>Gravatar Monster</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm" runat="server" /> <asp:Gravatar ID="Gravatar1" Email="[email protected]" DefaultImageBehavior="MonsterId" runat="server" /> </form> </body> </html> The page above generates the following image automatically from the supplied email address: To learn more about the properties of the new Gravatar control, visit the live Gravatar Sample Page. ASP.NET Connections Talk on the Ajax Control Toolkit If you are interested in learning more about the changes that we are making to the Ajax Control Toolkit then please come to my talk on the Ajax Control Toolkit at the upcoming ASP.NET Connections conference. • Cannot get Correct month for a call from call log history

    - by Nishant Kumar
I am trying to extract information from the call log of the android. I am getting the call date that is one month back from the actual time of call. I mean to say that the information extracted by my code for the date of call is one mont back than the actual call date. I have the following in the Emulator: I saved a contact. Then I made a call to the contact. Code: I have 3 ways of extracting call Date information but getting the same wrong result. My code is as follows: /* Make the query to call log content */ Cursor callLogResult = context.getContentResolver().query( CallLog.Calls.CONTENT_URI, null, null, null, null); int columnIndex = callLogResult.getColumnIndex(Calls.DATE); Long timeInResult = callLogResult.getLong(columnIndex); /* Method 1 to change the milliseconds obtained to the readable date formate */ Time time = new Time(); time.toMillis(true); time.set(timeInResult); String callDate= time.monthDay+"-"+time.month+"-"+time.year; /* Method 2 for extracting the date from tha value read from the column */ Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance(); calendar.setTimeInMillis(time); String Month = calendar.get(Calendar.MONTH) ; /* Method 3 for extracting date from the result obtained */ Date date = new Date(timeInResult); String mont = date.getMonth() While using the Calendar method , I also tried to set the DayLight SAving Offset but it didnot worked, calendar.setTimeZone(TimeZone.getTimeZone("Europe/Paris")); int DST_OFFSET = calendar.get( Calendar.DST_OFFSET ); // DST_OFFSET Boolean isSet = calendar.getTimeZone().useDaylightTime(); if(isSet) calendar.set(Calendar.DST_OFFSET , 0); int reCheck = calendar.get(Calendar.DST_OFFSET ); But the value is not set to 0 in recheck. I am getting the wrong month value by using this also. Please some one help me where I am wrong? or is this the error in emulator ?? Thanks, Nishant Kumar Engineering Student
