• Perl module error on solaris-10

  I have installed perl and pm_dbdmysql perl module on solaris-10. I have a perl script which makes the mysql DB connection to a diff server and runs some queries and returns the results.   I'm trying to make an ad-hoc network for personal uses.. while creating it, it was created but when i tried to turn internet sharing on i got this error Windows could not set up internet connection sharing (ICS) I looked up google what is ICS and i found that it was an option in sharing tab in my connection properties, so i tried to enable it and i got this error An error occurred while internet connection sharing was being enabled. The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. I tried to also look up google for solution for this and i ended up with nothing really, i tried to enable the required services @ services.msc for it.. rebooted and still same thing it was working a while ago (had a problem at enabling my wireless for about 2 months and i just found a solution for it..) for some reason it doesn't now

• Add dpkg .symbols or.shlibs to package made using checkinstall

  I have created a simple package using checkinstall of the Oracle Instantclient client libraries, the package installs without problem and is seen in the system. Problem is, that checkinstall doesn't create /var/lib/dpkg/info/oracle-instantclient11.2-basic.symbols or /var/lib/dpkg/info/oracle-instantclient11.2-basic.shlibs files so when I try to create another package (with proper build scripts) that depends on oracle-instantclient11.2-basic the build fails with dpkg-shlibdeps: error: no dependency information found for \ /usr/lib/libclntsh.so.11.1 (used by \ debian/libopendbx1-oracle/usr/lib/opendbx/liboraclebackend.so.1.2.0). dh_shlibdeps: dpkg-shlibdeps \ -Tdebian/libopendbx1-oracle.substvars \ debian/libopendbx1-oracle/usr/lib/opendbx/liboraclebackend.so.1.2.0 \ returned exit code 2 make: *** [binary-arch] Error 9 Is there an easy way to automatically create a package with .symbols or .shlibs files?

  I have a homebuilt computer with a GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 motherboard with a Realtek RTL8111E LAN chip. Ethernet was working fine in Windows 7 until I reinstalled this OS, but now it's stopped, while still working in other OSes. I've tried reinstalling drivers from both the Gigabyte and Realtek sites to no avail; I've also plugged in and installed an Asus USB-N13 wifi dongle and this doesn't work oddly. How can I diagnose and fix this issue? In 'Network and Sharing Center' says "The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process" under the heading 'Unknown'. Following the advice at http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/130159-dependency-service-group-failed-start.html#post1122627 I've gone to 'Control Panel= Admin Tools= Services' and ensured the services listed at that URL are started (one - IIRC 'Come+ Event System' refused to start as user 'Local services' so I've had to set it to log on with the 'Local system account'... I suspect this may be part of the problem).

  I have currently have Ruby 1.9.1 (bad) and want to install 1.9.3 under rvm. However, rvm requirements gives a long list: install build-essential openssl libreadline6 libreadline6-dev curl git-core zlib1g zlib1g-dev libssl-dev libyaml-dev libsqlite3-dev sqlite3 libxml2-dev libxslt-dev autoconf libc6-dev ncurses-dev automake libtool bison subversion But I've hit a problem here: /# apt-get install libreadline6 Reading package lists...   My embedded system is for sh4 CPU. The debian distribution may get on http://www.si-linux.co.jp/pub/debian-sh/lenny-sh4/ I get the apt*.deb and extract the data.tar.gz. After setup the /etc/apt/sources.list, I could do 'apt-get update'. But it missing dependency when I try to run 'apt-get install ntpdate'. Is there any method to let apt-get ignore some base packages? Because those package is build by my original embedded system.(eg. busybox).

When I log into the OMSA web interface I can't see anything Also, omreport tells me nothing; root@box:~# omreport storage controller No controllers found I assume these two will use the same source of information so what ever is wrong will fix them both. I set up OMSA as per these instructions. Also I have compiled MegaCLI (as this is a PowerEdge 2950 with a Perc 6/i controller) and I have used that to update the RAID firmware, so that works, but the Dell tools aren't. • *nix OS that is easy to update to latest software

  I need to configure a server (*nix) that runs our (bespoke) CMS and Applications. In the past I have defaulted to using Cent OS 5, but I find this outdated difficult to upgrade the software to the versions we require. For example, we need PHP 5.3, but CentOS 5 has 5.2. Updating is fine but breaks something else (normally MySQL support in PHP). Eventually it will get to a situation where I can't upgrade because of missing dependancies and incompatible versions. Error: Missing Dependency: httpd = 2.2.3-43.el5.centos.3 is needed by package httpd-devel-2.2.3-43.el5.centos.3.i386 (updates) Is there a better alternative OS for hassle free updates, I need: Apache 2.2.17 (the development version for apxs) MySQL 5.5.8 PHP 5.3.5

• In Enterprise Architect I modified an interface, how to update the realizing classes?

  I've created an interface in a class model. This interface has two methods, A and B and method A takes an argument (a) and method B does not take an argument (yet). Additionally I've created a class that implements this interface, overriding both methods. After a discussing the model method B now should also take a parameter (b), so I modified the interface to reflect this change. However the class realizing this interface is not updated automatically. For one class it's possible to add the method by re-creating the link between the interface, specify the which method should be implemented and deleting this link again. Then the OLD method signature has to be removed as well. This is a lot of work if there is more then one class implementing the modified interface, not to mention error-prone. Does anybody know how to make an entire class model update this type of dependency?

  I've been trying to install hiphop-php on CentOS 6 with no luck. I found an .rpm for it but it fails dependency checks on boost which fails to install because it depends on curl which fails to install because it can't overwrite /etc/lib64/libcurl.so.4 I can't remove the current curl version because half the system seems to depend on it. Has anybody had any luck doing this? It's driving me mad. I tried compiling from source but that's even more hellish and I really have no idea what I'm doing anyway.

  Firstly, I must admit that I don't know much about setting up PHP beyond the basics. I have an Ubuntu 10.04 server system (hosted) running primarily as an FTP store for a commercial store software. The server that the commercial store is installed on is unfortunately not very reliable, and would like to move that to this Ubuntu 10.04 server. (We've already received permission from the store vendor to do this.) My problem is that they use Zend optimizer which is only compatible with PHP 5.2. I have tried a couple of "hacks" to downgrade PHP to 5.2, but it breaks so many other things that it doesn't seem worth it. My idea is to install some sort of container of Ubuntu 8.04 (like OpenVZ) on the server to house a native install of PHP 5.2 to meet the dependency of the store software. However, it appears that OpenVZ is no longer supported on Ubuntu. Is there another solution similar that I could run on a hosted server to installed a separate "container-like" 8.04 system?

I installed it with --force-depends and got it to install, but now when I try to run it, I get this error: /usr/bin/google-chrome: error while loading shared libraries: libnss3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Is there a way to still get google-chrome to load even without this dependency satisfied? • Best Guest OS for running freeswitch under Proxmox

  We have a lot of asterisk Systems running on dedicated machines and would like to use freeswitch to replace a number of them. One of the advantages of freeswitch is supposed to be that it is doing much better in a virtualized environment than asterisk is. However I can find very little information about people using it in Proxmox containers. I would like to know if anyone has seen any ready to run proxmox images that include freeswitch so we can test a number of things without having to deeply go into creating our own. Or at least a clue to which system images/distro images we can use to quickly get it installed not having to deal with too many dependency or different Linux version issues. Just to be clear: It should be for a more or less current Proxmox and current freeswitch. I am not looking forward to use the KVM mode but would consider it, if it is otherwise ready to run out of the box. I would rather use a real OpenVZ based container. Thanks for anyone helping!

• CGI error from PHP when running exec() on IIS

  Windows Server 2003 x64 PHP 5.2 IIS 6.0 The program Ink2Png.exe is set with Everyone-Read and Execute permissions. As does its dependency (microsoft.ink.dll) PHP Safe Mode is off exec() is passed [the full exe path], space, [full path to another file] This other file also has full read permissions. The output directory has full write permissions. As soon as exec() is hit, the connection dies, the browser does not even receive a full set of http headers, and it reports a CGI error. Examining the output, it appears the program was not even run. Any ideas? How can I figure out what exactly is happening and get it running again? EDIT: Also, it is a .NET application, if that is significant in any way.

In another question about installing Java on Ubuntu/Linux it said that I needed to do the following: sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner" However, that failed and I kept getting: sudo: add-apt-repository: command not found The solution to this, was to run: sudo apt-get install python-software-properties So, that seemed to work and the command above to "add-apt-repository" seems to complete with no errors. And I have run the following to confirm it got added. sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list But, now when I run the following: sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre I get: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Package sun-java6-jre is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source E: Package sun-java6-jre has no installation candidate Where do I go from here?
