  • Is it possible to create a sub window which will not deactivate the parent?

    Normally when creating a sub window (WS_POPUP), the child window will become activate and the parent will become deactivated. However, with menus, both remain active. At least I am assuming the menu is active, it at least has focus. Example: Click on the file menu in notepad, the menu appears, yet the notepad window still looks active. Is it possible to mirror this behavior with either a window style or responding to a particular message? Thanks Another example: Combo boxes seem to show a subwindow, yet do not deactivate the window. And you can click on that subwindow, while still maintaining an activate main window. Any ideas on how to grab the class /style of that window?

    I am trying to implement what I used to take for granted in Winforms applications. I am a Silverlight noob, so hopefully all this is elementary. I have a listbox in a Silverlight 4 app. I'd like to do the following: Right-click on the listbox Have the item under the location where I click highlight itself I'd like a context menu to popup (with my own items in the context menu) From my research so far, it appears that there is no ContextMenu construct in Silverlight, instead we have to build up a Grid/Canvas structure and attach it to a Popup object, which is what is then popped up. My questions are as follows: To accomplish #2, I need some kind of hit test on the listbox. I can't figure out how to do that and my google-fu isn't helping. Once I do identify the index under the mouse, how do I actually select the item? Is there a reusable Context menu component somewhere that I can use? Extra credit if the component allows arbitrary sub-menus.

  • How can I create a menu in the start menu for my program?

    This may be an easy question but I am not even sure of the terminology to search, so I have to ask. I want my program to have a menu when it is hovered over if it is pinned to the start menu. I am attaching a screenshot where windows powershell illustrates this function, and presents a list of tasks. Other programs sometimes use this to list recently opened files, etc. I am sure this is standard enough that there is a tutorial on it somewhere, would someone mind pointing me to it, or explaining how to do this? I hope that it doesn't matter too much what language is used, but I am proficient in Delphi, C++, and C#.

  • dojo dynamic right click context menu

    There are tons of different dojo right click context menus in a page slowing down the browser. Some divs have context menus while some others don't. So I just can't have a dynamic global context menu and still be able to fallback to the browser's built in menu in some cases, do I? The non lazy instantiation of the dojo context menus just take too much time. How can I make those context menus dynamic? Preferably being created on demand when the user actually right clicks on them.

    Is there anyway to use the built-in DNN Menu module to display a menu based at a different root node other than the current tab node? Given the following structure: Page1 -child1_1 -child1_2 Page3 Page2(hidden) -child2_1 -child2_2 In this scenario I will be having 2 menus on this skin. One will be normal navigation based off of the current node and the other will be a set of 'static' links to pages located outside the current node. When on Page1 the normal navigation will show Page1, Page3 and the children of Page1 nested under Page1. The 'static' links will use 'Page2' as their root and will show child2_1 and child2_2.

  • Adding my own items to Long Click on Text Box menu on android

    Hi all, I am currently developing an application for android. I'm not sure if this is possible but here it goes. When the user clicks and holds on a text box whether it is a website or a piece of software a menu is displayed which shows paste and input method. What I want to be able to do is add my own items to this menu and when the user clicks on my item it will load my app, they can select an item from a list view. It will then copy the contents and automatically paste it into the text field the user selected. Thanks for your help in this matter

    Hi I have a dynamic menu where the ul li items change in width depending on the text set in the CMS (Joomla). They want the menu item, on mouse over, to both have 1. a repeated background image and 2. an image placed at the top (http://screencast.com/t/Zjk4YTJmNGQ). Now, I'm great with doing the repeated background image on a mouse over and that would be great, but I am not sure how to get both of these images in one css declaration. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I haven't learned this technique yet :(

    On this winform application I am writing, I want to secure one menu item from most users. It runs a month-end and cannot be easily backed out if accidentally run. The menu option opens up a window to prompt the user for some information before processing. I don't care where exactly I do the check, but I want to be sure only certain users can run this function. A Google search (on my question title above) didn't turn up anything obvious. Can anyone point me in a direction to pick up who is signed into Windows and how to check if they are authorized?

  • Drop down menu like the default iPad application menus

    Hi Everyone, I'm currently working on my first iOS application to run on the iPad, and I've come across a problem. I have been asked to implement menu's similar to the ones in the default applications such as when you click on the "Calendars" button in the top left of the calendars app. Only issue is, I cant seem to find a standard UI object that looks like these, with the arrow connecting the menu to the button etc. Is this a standard UI component that I should be able to use, or will I have to imitate them by creating a custom object?   • High load average, low CPU and IO (Centos 5.7)

    A Drupal 7 site with CiviCRM, after running smoothly for a year on a 1&1 VPS suddenly became unresponsive. Now pages eventually load, but can take more than a minute. Looking at resource use in Virtuozzo, the load average carries a warning, and has remained above 1. While I understand this isn't particularly high, this is a change from when the site was working. Here is a typical snapshot of top: top - 03:10:32 up 3:21, 1 user, load average: 1.16, 1.22, 1.30 Tasks: 43 total, 1 running, 42 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 0.1%us, 0.1%sy, 0.1%ni, 99.7%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st Mem: 2097152k total, 1015112k used, 1082040k free, 0k buffers Swap: 0k total, 0k used, 0k free, 0k cached CPU idle level never seems to go much below 70%. wa is virtually always at 0. There appears to be lots of free memory.   • PHP displays blank white page even with all error reporting enabled

    I am trying to debug a broken page in a Drupal application and am having a hard time getting PHP to spit anything useful out. I have the following set: error_reporting = E_ALL display_errors = On display_startup_errors = On log_errors = On error_log = /var/log/php/php_error.log I have a file showing me phpinfo() which confirms these variables are set correctly for the environment. I have increased memory_limit to 256M (which should be more than enough). Yet, the only indication I get is a status 500 code in the apache access log and a blank white page from PHP.   • How can use mod_rewrite to redirect a multiple specific URLs containing multiple query strings?

    Hi there folks, we recently migrated a site from a custom CMS to drupal. In an effort to preserve some links that our users bookmarked (we have about 120 redirects) we would like to forward the original URLs to a new URL. I have been searching for a couple days, but can't seem to find anything simple to what I need. We have existing URLS that contain one or more query strings, for example: /article.php?issue_id=12&article_id=275 and we would like to forward to the new location: http://foobar.edu/content/super-happy-fun-article I started using: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/article\.php?issue_id=12&article_id=275$ http://foobar.edu/content/super-happy-fun-article [R=301,L] This, however, does not work. A simple RewriteRule works: RewriteRule ^test\.php$ index.php It is unclear to me how I need to use {QUERY_STRING} with multiple Basically it's 120 simple redirects that go from one existing URL to a new one. I don't need ranges [0-9], because there is no sequential order to existing URLs. Perhaps I can do what I need with RewriteMap and a simple text file that contains a line like this: index.php?issue_id=12&articleType_section=0&articleType_id=65 http://foobar.edu/category/fall-2008 If anyone has any idea on using mod_rewrite to accomplish this or if there is a better, or more simple mod, I am open to that as well. I've been following these instructions http://docs.moodle.org/en/NTLM_authentication#IIS_Configuration In the IIS Manager I open the Authentication module, disable anonymous authentication and enable Windows Authentication however according to every post I can find on the matter I should have a 'providers' option appear but I don't. I've double checked in Server Manager that the 'Windows Authentication' security feature is enabled for IIS. Any help anyone can offer would be great, Thank you!

  • Apache strace to hunt down a memory leak

    We have a server with a memory issue: the server keeps allocating itself memory and doesn't release it. We're running Apache. I set MaxReqsPerClient to a really low value just so the threads don't hold a lot of memory, but has anyone seen calls like this?   • Taskbar Network "Repair" menu option gone in Windows 7

    I used to LOVE that feature in Windows XP! Just right-clicked on the WiFi icon on the Taskbar (lower right-hand corner), then Repair. It doesn't take that long, and it usually helped me since I constantly go back and forth between LAN at work, VPN on WiFi from work and home, and also VPN to my own personal server. Even if you didn't need to refresh, doing so never hurts! Unfortunately, the feature seems to be removed from Win7 :( Now you can check for problems, but it only does the refresh if it thinks it needs too, and the whole process tasks so darn long! Is there a way to Repair my WiFi connection quickly and easily on Win7?

  • Bind "media" keys on MacBook keyboard to application menu items

    Currently, I am using PandoraBoy to listen to my Pandora stations. In the preferences, it allows you to set global hotkeys to control playing, like/dislike, volume, stations, etc. What I would like to do is allow the built-in media keys on my MacBook Pro's keyboard (F7-F12: Previous, Play/Pause, Next, Mute, Volume Up, Volume Down) to control PandoraBoy like they do iTunes. Right now, I am using Command-F(7-12) to control it, but that requires me to hold down the "fn" and command keys Is there a way to bind these commands to the media keys without needing to function-shift them?
