    How could can I get the caret position from within an input field. I have seen a few bits and pieces on google but nothing bullet proof. Basically something like a Jquery plugin would be ideal so I could simply do $("#myinput").caretPosition() I realise there may by other non-jQuery solutions and these would also be brilliant if anyone has any??

    Hi, The basic question is: How do I perform a basic override of a plugin method without editing the original plugin file? Is it possible to create an override for a specific instance: Example: An rtf plugin uses: $('selector').wysiwyg('setContent',newContent); In order to display the rtf text as readonly I would like for the same method to be applied to a div instead of the body of the IFRAME I would like to overwrite the original 'setContent' with my own code, just for this one element.     Hi there, I'm creating a set of input fields and using javascript's .style.backgroundColor = "red" to change the colour of any invalid fields. In Chrome, there is no problem. However, in Firefox, as soon as I touch the backgroundColor (even if I set it to white) then I get these strange shadow effects.     I have been trying to change the cursor style to look like a pointer rather than an I beam thing, but it looks like FF does not respect the cursor spec in an input file field. For example, I have made this small fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/jDZtn/4/ where Id like the cursor to look like a pointer rather than an Ibeam when the user hovers over it. My end plan is to introduce opacity==0 and use a clickable button over it. I am not sure if this behaviour is a bug or not.

    im making an image button like this: <input type="image" src="red.jpeg" width="150px"> but it is displaying the original image size which is much larger, if i put: <img src="red.jpeg" width="150px"> it displays the image 150px wide as i want, what do you guys think is the problem with this? I have tried styling it with a class and CSS but not working either, please help me with this, im going nuts!!
