  • Coarse classing based on weight of evidence in r

    - by user3619169
    How can we use weight of evidence for binning continuous data in R. For e.g. I have a data: Recency 364 91 692 13 126 4 40 93 13 33 262 12 136 21 88 16 4 19 24 89 36 5 274 125 740 6 13 715 591 443 104 853 260 125 62 357 559 155 163 16 433 91 1380 96 374 130 574 101 5 11 34 401 13 215 168 So, what should be the command to bin this variable in different groups, based on Weight of evidence, or you can say coarse classing. Output I want is: Group I: Recency <200 Group I: Recency 200-400 Group I: Recency 400 Thanks

  • Find first cell in a row that contains a number?

    - by Dexter
    I'm working in Excel with an exported table such as this: |-------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | | A | B | C | D | E | F | G | H | I | |---|-------------------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-------|-----|-----------| | 1 | Domain | JAN | FEB | MAR | APR | MAY | Start | End | Change | |---|-------------------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-------|-----|-----------| | 2 | www.mydomain1.com | | 1 | 4 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | |---|-------------------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-------|-----|-----------| | 3 | www.mydomain2.com | 2 | 4 | 12 | 18 | 23 | 2 | 23 | 21 | |---|-------------------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-------|-----|-----------| | 4 | www.mydomain3.com | | | 14 | 12 | | 14 | xxx | NOT FOUND | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------------| I'm trying to compare the current state (last cell) to the original cell (first cell with a value). In column I, I have the formula =IF(G2 = "xxx", "NOT FOUND", IF(H2 = "xxx", "NOT FOUND", H2 - G2)) In column H, I have the formula =IF(F2 = "", "xxx", F2) In column G, I need to find the first cell with a number. If there isn't one in that range, I need G to be "xxx". I suppose I only need to check for the first cell in the range (B2 to F2) that contains a value, not just a number. I tried using an Index and Match combo, but I couldn't quite understand it.

JSON String: { "id":31896, "name":"Zickey attitude - McKinley, La Rosi\u00e8re, 21 ao\u00fbt 2006", ... } this causes an unterminated string in javascript. my focus on solution is: data.replace(/(\S)\1(\1)+/g, ''); or data.replace(/\u([0-9A-Z])/, ''); any ideas/solution? example: http://api.jamendo.com/get2/id+name+url+stream+album_name+album_url+album_id+artist_id+artist_name/track/jsonpretty/track_album+album_artist/?n=13&order=ratingmonth_desc&tag_idstr=jazz last node is the problem, fyi. • Python raises a KeyError (for an out of dictionary key) even though the key IS in the dictionary

    - by ignorantslut
I'm getting a KeyError for an out of dictionary key, even though I know the key IS in fact in the dictionary. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? print G.keys() returns the following: ['24', '25', '20', '21', '22', '23', '1', '3', '2', '5', '4', '7', '6', '9', '8', '11', '10', '13', '12', '15', '14', '17', '16', '19', '18'] but when I try to access a value in the dictionary on the next line of code... for w in G[v]: #note that in this example, v = 17 I get the following error message: KeyError: 17 Any help, tips, or advice are all appreciated. Thanks.

  • Using LINQ to filter rows of a matrix based on inclusion in an array

    - by Bob Feng
I have a matrix, IEnumerable<IEnumerable<int>> matrix, for example: { {10,23,16,20,2,4}, {22,13,1,33,21,11 }, {7,19,31,12,6,22}, ... } and another array: int[] arr={ 10, 23, 16, 20} I want to filter the matrix on the condition that I group all rows of the matrix which contain the same number of elements from arr. That is to say the first row in the matrix {10,23,16,20,2,4} has 4 numbers from arr, this array should be grouped with the rest of the rows with 4 numbers from arr. better to use linq, thank you very much!

  • Mysql database structure...

    - by Patrick
I'm creating a members site, and I'm currently working on the user Preference settings. Should I create a table with all the preference fields (about 17 fields) or should I include them in the main member table along with the account settings? Is there a limit as to how many fields I should have in a table? currently the member table has about 21 fields... not sure if its okay to add another 17 more fields when I can easily just put them in another table. It'll take more coding to pull up the data though... any sugguestions?

  • VS2008 is very slow on a specific large C++ solution

    - by VioletRose
I have a solution with 21 C++ projects and 1 VB.NET project. The IDE responds very slowly when I simply move the carret in a file or try to open the menu. The process seems to take 50% of CPU for each movement. It only happens with this solution and only on my machine. The solution has total of 2380 source and header files, of which 1280 are header files. I tried to remove all connection to the source control (Perforce) but it didn't help. Also, I have Visual Assist installed but even after removing it (uninstall), the same behavior continued. Any idea?

  • Background text in a Bootstrap WELL

    - by patrick
I have a problem putting a text in the background of a Bootstrap well. I first posted the problem in this question, but that was a too simple representation of my problem. I'm looking for an effect created in this jFiddle, a text in the background of a menu. The example works how I want to to work, but when I put this in a Bootstrap Well I get this (http://jsfiddle.net/aBqw8/21/). The background text disappears, it's probably behind the Well. When I remove the background color from the well I can see the text. If I remove the "position:relative" from the span it shows the title, but then it interferes with the menu, which is what I am trying to avoid. Thanks for your help!

  • Need an efficient algorithm solve this kind of complex structure

    - by Rizvan
Problem Statement is : Given 2 Dimensional array, print output for example If 4 rows and 6 columns, output would be: 1 2 3 4 5 6 16 17 18 19 20 7 15 24 23 22 21 8 14 13 12 11 10 9 I tried it is looking like square within square but when I attempted this problem, I put so many while and if loops but didn't got exact answer. If row and columns increases how to handle it? This is not homework. I was learning solving complex structure so I need to understand it by some guidance.

  • read after lseek always return 0

    - by Wins
I'm having an issue reading byte in file after performing lseek long cur_position = lseek(fd, length * -1, SEEK_CUR ); // Rewind file reading by length bytes. printf("cur_position: %i\n", cur_position); int num_byte = read(fd, &byte, 1); printf("num_byte = %i\n", num_byte); With the initial variable length set to 34, the above code would produce cur_position 5 (so there are definitely at least 34 bytes after the lseek function returns), but the variable num_byte returned from function read always returns 0 even though there are still more bytes to read. Does anyone know the reason num_byte always return 0 or do I make mistake in the above code? Just for information, the above code was run on the following machine $ uname -srvpio Linux 3.2.0-24-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 21 16:52:17 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

  • Failure retrieving contents of directory

    - by Bondye
Currently I have a couple of websites. My problem is that if I login on 1 specific domain with any of my programs (using notepadd++, FileZilla and Netbeans) the program stops at the content listing. I had it correctly running, (I'm working on a project on this domain for more than a year now) and suddenly I broke it somehow. This only happens on 1 specific domain, all other domains (from other hosts) are working. My colleague (next to me with same ip address) is able to login on this domain. Notepadd++ says: Failure retrieving contents of directory Filezilla says: Failed to retrieve directory listing Netbean popups: Upload files on save failed. (Because I have the setting upload on save enabled.) What I tried: First I thought it's my firewall, I disabled firewall but no result. Also notice that all other domain are working. Maby a blacklist with my ip address? No my colleague has the same ip address. Could anyone help me on this? • Why i disconnect every few seconds? using USB wireless adapter

    - by Rev3rse
i know it's for ubuntu questions..but mint and ubuntu are very similiar and i had the same problem with linux ubuntu too..so i think this is the right place for my question anyway i don't have experience with drivers and other things, after installing Linux on my machine( i did dist-upgrade btw) everything seem to be great because i didn't have to install any driver, after a while i realized that my connection stop after few minutes(actually it shows that I'm connected but it's not) so i have to reconnect and after few minutes it disconnect again. I'm using Alfa USB wireless adapter AWS036H, and my Linux version is 11 i think the driver i'm using is Realtek i searched in the Internet and i found nothing. these are some outputs of few things people usually ask for: Note: I'm NOT using a laptop. dmsg: [19445.604448] [UFW BLOCK] IN=wlan0 OUT= MAC=00:c0:ca:44:62:d1:00:24:c8:4b:46:e0:08:00 SRC=2.174.220.77 DST=192.168.1.6 LEN=52 TOS=0x00 • Why does my laptop resume immediately after suspend?

    - by Igor Zinov'yev
I seem to be having some problem with suspend mode. Every time I try to suspend my laptop, it just locks the screen. Or maybe it successfully suspends just to resume only an instant after. What could cause such a behaviour? I'm running 32-bit Ubuntu 12.04 with the 3.2.0-25 kernel on a HP dv5-1178er Pavilion laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo). Here are the relevant log sections: kern.log: Jun 1 10:42:21 igor-laptop kernel: [ 2225.131171] PM: Syncing filesystems ... done. • What’s New in The Second Edition of Regular Expressions Cookbook

    - by Jan Goyvaerts
%COOKBOOKFRAME% The second edition of Regular Expressions Cookbook is a completely revised edition, not just a minor update. All of the content from the first edition has been updated for the latest versions of the regular expression flavors and programming languages we discuss. We’ve corrected all errors that we could find and rewritten many sections that were either unclear or lacking in detail. And lack of detail was not something the first edition was accused of. Expect the second edition to really dot all i’s and cross all t’s. A few sections were removed. In particular, we removed much talk about browser inconsistencies as modern browsers are much more compatible with the official JavaScript standard. There is plenty of new content. The second edition has 101 more pages, bringing the total to 612. It’s almost 20% bigger than the first edition. We’ve added XRegExp as an additional regex flavor to all recipes throughout the book where XRegExp provides a better solution than standard JavaScript. We did keep the standard JavaScript solutions, so you can decide which is better for your needs. The new edition adds 21 recipes, bringing the total to 146. 14 of the new recipes are in the new Source Code and Log Files chapter. These recipes demonstrate techniques that are very useful for manipulating source code in a text editor and for dealing with log files using a grep tool. Chapter 3 which has recipes for programming with regular expressions gets only one new recipe, but it’s a doozy. If anyone has ever flamed you for using a regular expression instead of a parser, you’ll now be able to tell them how you can create your own parser by mixing regular expressions with procedural code. Combined with the recipes from the new Source Code and Log Files chapter, you can create parsers for whatever custom language or file format you like. If you have any interest in regular expressions at all, whether you’re a beginner or already consider yourself an expert, you definitely need a copy of the second edition of Regular Expressions Cookbook if you didn’t already buy the first. If you did buy the first edition, and you often find yourself referring back to it, then the second edition is a very worthwhile upgrade. You can buy the second edition of Regular Expressions Cookbook from Amazon or wherever technical books are sold. Ask for ISBN 1449319432.
