  • Why the vertical scroll bar moves automatically ?

    - by Misha Moroshko
    I don't understand why the vertical scroll bar moves automatically to the most top position when "Line 9" clicked, for example. Further clicks does not move the scroll bar. Could anyone explain why, and how to fix this ? I work with Firefox 3.6.3. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <body> <div> <table> <tr row='0'><td class='column1'>Line 0</td></tr> <tr row='1'><td class='column1'>Line 1</td></tr> <tr row='2'><td class='column1'>Line 2</td></tr> <tr row='3'><td class='column1'>Line 3</td></tr> <tr row='4'><td class='column1'>Line 4</td></tr> <tr row='5'><td class='column1'>Line 5</td></tr> <tr row='6'><td class='column1'>Line 6</td></tr> <tr row='7'><td class='column1'>Line 7</td></tr> <tr row='8'><td class='column1'>Line 8</td></tr> <tr row='9'><td class='column1'>Line 9</td></tr> </table> </div> </body> $(document).ready(function() { $(".column1").each(function(index) { $(this).after("<td class='column2'>Details " + index + "</td>"); $(this).toggle(function() { $("[row='" + index + "'] .column2").fadeIn("fast") }, function() { $("[row='" + index + "'] .column2").fadeOut("fast") }); }); }); div { overflow: auto; height: 100px; width: 300px; border: 1px solid blue; } .column1 { cursor: pointer; } .column2 { display: none; }

  • Would this prevent the row from being read during the transaction?

    - by acidzombie24
    I remember an example where reads in a transaction then writing back the data is not safe because another transaction may read/write to it in the time between. So i would like to check the date and prevent the row from being modified or read until my transaction is finish. Would this do the trick? and are there any sql variants that this will not work on? update tbl set id=id where date>expire_date and id=@id Note: dateexpire_date happens to be my condition. It could be anything. Would this prevent other transaction from reading the row until i commit or rollback?

  • Listing issue, GROUP mysql

    - by SethCodes
    Here is a mock-up example of Mysql table: | ID | Country | City | ________________________________ | 1 | Sweden | Stockholm | | 2 | Sweden | Stockholm | | 3 | Sweden | Lund | | 4 | Sweden | Lund | | 5 | Germany | Berlin | | 6 | Germany | Berlin | | 7 | Germany | Hamburg | | 8 | Germany | Hamburg | Notice how both rows Country and city have repeated values inside them. Using GROUP BY country, city in my PDO query, the values will not repeat while in loop. Here is PDO for this: $query = "SELECT id, city, country FROM table GROUP BY country, city"; $stmt = $db->query($query); while($row = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) : The above code will result in an output like this (some editing in-between). GROUP BY works but the country repeats: Sweden - Stockholm Sweden - Lund Germany - Berlin Germany - Hamburg Using bootstrap collapse and above code, I separate the country from the city with a simple drop down collopase. Here is code: <li> <a data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#<?= $row['id']; ?>" href="search.php?country=<?= $row['country']; ?>"> <?= $row['country']; ?> </a> <div id ="<?= $row['id']; ?>" class="collapse in"> //collapse div here <a href="search.php?city=<?= $row['city']; ?>"> <?= $row['city']; ?><br></a> </div> //end </li> It then looks something like this (once collapse is initiated): Sweden > Stockholm Sweden > Lund Germany >Berlin Germany >Hamburg Here is where I face the problem. The above lists the values Sweden and Germany 2 times. I want Sweden and Germany to only list one time, and the cities listed below, so the desired look is to be this: Sweden // Lists one time > Stockholm > Lund Germany // Lists one time >Berlin >Hamburg I have tried using DISTINCT, GROUP_CONTACT and other methods, yet none get my desired output (above). Suggestions? Below is my current full code in action: <? $query = "SELECT id, city, country FROM table GROUP BY country, city"; $stmt = $db->query($query); while($row = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) : ?> <li> <a data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#<?= $row['id']; ?>" href="search.php?country=<?= $row['country']; ?>"> <?= $row['country']; ?> </a> <div id ="<?= $row['id']; ?>" class="collapse in"> //collapse div here <a href="search.php?city=<?= $row['city']; ?>"> <?= $row['city']; ?><br></a> </div> //end </li> <? endwhile ?>

  • Applying styles to a GridView matching certain criteria

    - by NickK
    Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to ASP.Net so it's probably just me being a bit stupid, but I just can't figure out why this isn't working. Basically, I have a GridView control (GridView1) on a page which is reading from a database. I already have a CSS style applied to the GridView and all I want to do is change the background image applied in the style depending on if a certain cell has data in it or not. The way I'm trying to handle this change is updating the CSS class applied to each row through C#. I have the code below doing this: protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { GridViewRow row = e.Row; string s = row.Cells[7].Text; if (s.Length > 0) { row.CssClass = "newRowBackground"; } else { row.CssClass = "oldRowBackground"; } } In theory, the data from Cell[7] will either be null or be a string (in this case, likely a person's name). The problem is that when the page loads, every row in the GridView has the new style applied to it, whether it's empty or not. However, when I change it to use hard coded examples, it works fine. So for example, the below would work exactly how I want it to: protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { GridViewRow row = e.Row; string s = row.Cells[7].Text; if (s == "Smith") //Matching a name in one of the rows { row.CssClass = "newRowBackground"; } else { row.CssClass = "oldRowBackground"; } } It seems as if the top piece of code is always returning the string with a value greater than 0, but when I check the database the fields are all null (except for my test record of "Smith"). I'm probably doing something very simple that's wrong here, but I can't see what. Like I said, I'm still very new to this. One thing I have tried is changing the argument in the if statement to things like: if (s != null), if (s != "") and if (s == string.empty) all with no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated and don't hesitate to tell me if I'm just being stupid here. :)

  • Please help me in creating an update query

    - by Rajesh Rolen- DotNet Developer
    I have got a table which contains 5 column and query requirements: update row no 8 (or id=8) set its column 2, column 3's value from id 9th column 2, column 3 value. means all value of column 2, 3 should be shifted to column 2, 3 of upper row (start from row no 8) and value of last row's 2, 3 will be null For example, with just 3 rows, the first row is untouched, the second to N-1th rows are shifted once, and the Nth row has nulls. id math science sst hindi english 1 11 12 13 14 15 2 21 22 23 24 25 3 31 32 33 34 35 The result of query of id=2 should be: id math science sst hindi english 1 11 12 13 14 15 2 31 32 23 24 25 //value of 3rd row (col 2,3) shifted to row 2 3 null null 33 34 35 This process should run for all rows whose id 2 Please help me to create this update query I am using MS sqlserver 2005

  • Are table headers only for the top row in html?

    - by Bill Zimmerman
    Hi, I always see the th tag only used in the first row of the table. Is there some specific reason why it can't be used to create 'left' headers along the leftmost column. Is this bad form, or is this ok. Basically, a table with headings on the top row and the leftmost column, with the very top left square being empty. e.g. <table> <tr> <th/> <!--empty--> <th>Top 1</th> <th>Top 2</th></tr> <tr> <th>LeftHeader?</th> <td>data1</td> <td>data2</td></tr> </table>

  • How to order by results from 2 seperate tables in PHP and MySQL.

    - by Vafello
    I am trying to output results of 2 sql queries to one JSON file. The problem is that I would like to order them ascending by distance which is the result of equation that takes homelat and homelon from the users table and lat, lng from locations table.(basically it takes lattitude and longitude of one point and another and computes the distance between these points). Is it possible to take some parameters from both select queries, compute it and output the result in ascending order? $wynik = mysql_query("SELECT homelat, homelon FROM users WHERE guid='2'") or die(mysql_error()); ; $query = "SELECT * FROM locations WHERE timestamp"; $result = map_query($query); $points = array(); while ($aaa = mysql_fetch_assoc($wynik)) { while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { array_push($points, array('name'=>$row['name'], 'lat'=>$row['lat'], 'lng'=>$row['lng'], 'description'=>$row['description'], 'eventType'=>$row['eventType'], 'date'=>$row['date'], 'isotime'=>date('c', ($row['timestamp'])), 'homelat'=>$aaa['homelat'], 'homelon'=>$aaa['homelon'])); } echo json_encode(array("Locations"=>$points));

  • Can't create a MySQL query that generates 4 rows for each row in the table it references.

    - by UkraineTrain
    I need to create a MySQL query that generates 4 rows for each row in the table it references. I need some of the information in those rows to repeat and some to be different. In the table each row stands for one day. I need to break the day up in 6 hour increments, hence the four rows for each entry. I need to create one column which for each day will have '12AM', '6AM', '12PM', and '6PM' values and another column will have the corresponding numeric values calculated for those entries. Thanks a lot in advance and I will really appreciate any help on this.

  • Why will this for loop not return one field from list rather than the list?

    - by Dick Eshelman
    import csv """sample row = 10/6/2010,73.42,74.43,72.9,74.15,2993500""" filename_in = 'c:/python27/scripts/fiverows.csv' reader = csv.reader(open(filename_in, "rb"), dialect="excel", delimiter="\t", quoting =csv.QUOTE_MINIMAL) for row in reader: for item in row: print 'row = ',row print 'item = ', item When you run this script and print the row you get the sample row returned in [] as a list. When you print the item you get the sample row as an unquoted string. Why do I not get each field ie, (10/6/2010), (73.42), etc. returned as an item? How do I return a single item?

  • Excel Help: Fill Tool - Drag to the side (across columns) but increase the formula by Row Number.

    - by B-Ballerl
    There are answers out there to this question, but all of them have been under explianed so hence to difficult to coprehend and use them to my advantage. I want to do the seemingly simple (but not) task of Draging a Formula (Filling a series) across Column's while increasing the formula row number relativley. For Example to drag this formula: | =A1 | =A2 | =A3 Some other notes, Transposing by copy paste has proven too difficult for the amount of data. Offset and Indirect has been used by other people to do this but I don't get how they work at all so when I attempt to use them I don't know how to format it to my range. Here's a example photo Idealy we want the dragged section to continue on to fill the formula.

  • Random select is not always returning a single row.

    - by Lieven
    The intention of following (simplified) code fragment is to return one random row. Unfortunatly, when we run this fragment in the query analyzer, it returns between zero and three results. As our input table consists of exactly 5 rows with unique ID's and as we perform a select on this table where ID equals a random number, we are stumped that there would ever be more than one row returned. Note: among other things, we already tried casting the checksum result to an integer with no avail. DECLARE @Table TABLE ( ID INTEGER IDENTITY (1, 1) , FK1 INTEGER ) INSERT INTO @Table SELECT 1 UNION ALL SELECT 2 UNION ALL SELECT 3 UNION ALL SELECT 4 UNION ALL SELECT 5 SELECT * FROM @Table WHERE ID = ABS(CHECKSUM(NEWID())) % 5 + 1

  • count(*) vs count(row-name) - which is more correct?

    - by bread
    Does it make a difference if you do count(*) vs count(row-name) as in these two examples? I have a tendency to always write count(*) because it seems to fit better in my mind with the notion of it being an aggregate function, if that makes sense. But I'm not sure if it's technically best as I tend to see example code written without the * more often than not. count(*): select customerid, count(*), sum(price) from items_ordered group by customerid having count(*) > 1; vs. count(row-name): SELECT customerid, count(customerid), sum(price) FROM items_ordered GROUP BY customerid HAVING count(customerid) > 1;

  • How to make a DIV auto height resizable even if the content is absolute?

Like what you see, the container does not fit the content except if the squares are positioned in Relative, is there a solution for this? I don't want to just set the height for container because the squares are not static so i want something that resizes automatically. Thanks

Here's a link to where I got the formulas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prolate_spheroid & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oblate_spheroid). I think I've written them wrong, but here is my code so far; from math import pi, sqrt, asin, degrees, tanh def checkio(height, width): height = float(height) width = float(width) lst = [] if height == width: r = 0.5 * width surface_area = 4 * pi * r**2 surface_area = round(surface_area, 2) lst.append(surface_area) elif height > width: #If spheroid is prolate a = 0.5 * width b = 0.5 * height e = 1 - a / b surface_area = 2 * pi * a**2 * (1 + b / a * e * degrees(asin**-1(e))) surface_area = round(surface_area, 2) lst.append(surface_area) elif height < width: #If spheroid is oblate a = 0.5 * height b = 0.5 * width e = 1 - b / a surface_area = 2 * pi * a**2 * (1 + 1 - e**2 / e * tanh**-1(e)) surface_area = round(surface_area, 2) lst.append(surface_area, 2) return lst
