  • How to set up a local webDAV server for use with Goodreader on the ipad? [migrated]

    I need to know how to set up a local webDav server on my PC so that goodreader on ipad can automatically sync with it over the local wifi network? I am really a rookie when it comes to setting up a web server and have tried various guides on the internet. I tried setting up a webdav server using IIS and forwarded the required ports and enabled webdav publishing but goodreader can find it in the local wifi network automatically nor is it able to connect even after manually entering the credendtials. So i'll be really greateful if someone who has successfully setup a webdav server for use with goodreader can point me on how to do it?

  • usb stop working

    I'm using Xubuntu 12.04 on a 64 bit Intel core duo laptop and the 3 USB 3.0 ports stopped working if I do not use the mouse. I updated the kernel to 3.9 but the bug persists. I googled too much and the few reponses I got cannot fixed this. The only solution is shuting down, unplugging and then plugging them back, then all works fine. But after half an hour or two days the bug reappears. How can I solve this? Thanks and excuse my poor english.

  • Clean Ubuntu 14.04 install taking longer to boot after kernel upgrade

    Hello this is my first post. I own an Asus Chromebox (2gb ram, 16 gb sdd, 3.0 usb ports) and fresh installed Ubuntu 14.04 x64. I decided to upgrade kernel because I was experiencing some freezing issues with XBMC, So first i installed stable kernel 3.14.04 from mainline and boot time was fine (it booted very fast I would say about 5 seconds) then after a while I installed kernels 3.15 and 3.14.06 BUT this time I also removed OLD STOCK KERNELS (dunno if that has something to do) after that the problem began, boot time is taking way longer, I would say about 30 seconds. Finally today I installed kernel 3.14.07, set grub to boot with that by default but same thing :( I post boot.log and dmesg, hope it is correct for this matter, if you need any other log just let me know. boot.log dmesg

  • Drives will not show up on PCI RAID card in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

    Computer specs Intel E8200 Dual Core MSI G45M MB Ultra U12-40739 PCI Expansion Card - 2 SATA Internal Ports, 1.5Gbps, RAID 0, 1, JBOD 6 GB DDR2 Q1. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Amahi, for using Grey Hole, last night. The two disc on the raid card do not show up under Ubuntu 12.04LTS but they do show up under grey hole so I know the drives and the raid card are working and there. I need to access them in Ubuntu to format them and place folders on them but I can not see them or figure out how to access them. Q2. Only 4 of the six drives connected to the MB are showing in Ubuntu, but they show as active in grey hole. I also need to access these drives in Ubuntu as this is my storage server. I am new to LINUX so any help you can provide with simple directions will be greatly appreciated . Thank you Mechh69

  • Wireless hardware is not getting switched on in 12.04

    I have recently installed ubuntu 12.04 in sony vaio VPCEH. And updated all the available updates through update manager. When i switch on the bluetooth/wireless (hardware switch), only the bluetooth is turning on. For wireless, it shows as "hardware disabled". P.S: It was working fine few days before. Suddenly It is not turning on. i just get an answer for this question while googling. just enter the following command in the terminal. "sudo rfkill unblock all" This will unblock all hardware ports. that's it!!!!!! :) It works,..

  • unresposive cursor

    Running Lucid. Computer worked fine last night, went to bed and found the following problem this morning: (so no hard or software changes) Computer boots up, screen displays normally; date & time correct, background normal, toolbars OK, everything looks normal. Cursor moves round screen in the traditional manner but clicking produces nothing, not left, right or centre. Nothing will open. Tried restarting, using different USB ports and a different mouse. Have reduced system to minimum; monitor keyboard mouse only. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks in advance, David D

    Unfortunately, I can't seem to get a simple Apache VHost online. I used to simply have one VHost which bound to all: <VirtualHost *:80>, but this isn't appropriate for security anymore. I need to have one VHost for localhost requests (ie my dev server) and one for incoming requests via my domain name.   • Is it possible to change HANDLE that has been opened for synchronous I/O to be opened for asynchrono

    Dear all, Most of my daily programming work in Windows is nowadays around I/O operations of all kind (pipes, consoles, files, sockets, ...). I am well aware of different methods of reading and writing from/to different kinds of handles (Synchronous, asynchronous waiting for completion on events, waiting on file HANDLEs, I/O completion ports, and alertable I/O). We use many of those. For some of our applications it would be very useful to have only one way to treat all handles. I mean, the program may not know, what kind of handle it has received and we would like to use, let's say, I/O completion ports for all. So first I would ask: Let's assume I have a handle: HANDLE h; which has been received by my process for I/O from somewhere. Is there any easy and reliable way to find out what flags it has been created with? The main flag in question is FILE_FLAG_OVERLAPPED. The only way known to me so far, is to try to register such handle into I/O completion port (using CreateIoCompletionPort()). If that succeeds the handle has been created with FILE_FLAG_OVERLAPPED. But then only I/O completion port must be used, as the handle can not be unregistered from it without closing the HANDLE h itself. Providing there is an easy a way to determine presence of FILE_FLAG_OVERLAPPED, there would come my second question: Is there any way how to add such flag to already existing handle? That would make a handle that has been originally open for synchronous operations to be open for asynchronous. Would there be a way how to create opposite (remove the FILE_FLAG_OVERLAPPED to create synchronous handle from asynchronous)? I have not found any direct way after reading through MSDN and googling a lot. Would there be at least some trick that could do the same? Like re-creating the handle in same way using CreateFile() function or something similar? Something even partly documented or not documented at all? The main place where I would need this, is to determine the the way (or change the way) process should read/write from handles sent to it by third party applications.     I've got a solution which I setup / cleanup using batch files ... - there are a pair of MSMQ ports, send and receive, with another application on the end of the queues I'm finding I can't properly stop the orchestration in the batch file ... the error is the send port is unenlisted - I'm using the StopOrch.vbs script from the SDK samples But I can go into BizTalk Admin Console and manually stop the orchestration with Full Terminate Ok The setup / cleanup works Ok if I don't actually push any messages down the MSMQ queues

  • What's the best way to test a P2P live streaming app?

    Hey guys, I've been working on a P2P live streaming app and I'm having some trouble testing it properly. At the moment, I'm testing it using: 1) Another laptop + an external server 2) Multiple instances running on different ports Problem is: this is not exactly ready for production. Is there something like a simulator OR any of you guys worked on a torrent client, p2p client, live streaming solution and had to test it? Please let me know, Thanks, -hbt

  • EADDRNOTAVAIL when binding 127.0.0.1 on localhost?

    I'm getting errno==49 (EADDRNOTAVAIL) when trying to UDP-bind() to 127.0.0.1:47346 running Mac OS X on a G5 (big endian PowerPC). Is there something preventing me from doing so? I've tried other addresses and ports (192.168.1.2 and port 47346) but with no success. Here's a gdb printout of my sockaddr_in: $1 = { sin_len = 0 '\0', sin_family = 2 '\002', sin_port = 47346, sin_addr = { s_addr = 3232235778 }, sin_zero = "???\000\000??" }

    my hostname is newton ...when I set "127.0.0.1 Newton" in /etc/hosts .. parallels stops working.. when I set "127.0.0.1 localhost" in /etc/hosts apache installed via ports stops working.. when I add both '"127.0.0.1 localhost", and "127.0.0.1 newton" to hosts file.. parallels network doesnt work

I want to listen events when user logon and send some commands to phone., Is there any idea about this task?
