• Android - Custom Icons in ListView

  Is there any way to place a custom icon for each group item? Like for phone I'd like to place a phone, for housing I'd like to place a house. Here is my code, but it keeps throwing a Warning and locks up on me. • Problem uploading .docx through html form

  I've made a simple form, with the proper enctype for uploading files. When i try to upload a .docx everything works fine in IE 8 and Safari, but in Firefox or IE 7 or 6 i can't even click submit, nothing happens! Could this still be a server issue? It's an apache server. • IE6 "frame" layout with 100% height and scrollbars

  I want to achieve a simple "frame" layout with fixed header, fixed left navigation area, and a main content area that fills 100% of the remainder of the viewport with scrollbars if necessary. My best attempt is below - but when I add enough content to the main div to force scrolling, I see that the scrollbar extends below the bottom of the viewport. What am I doing wrong? Or what is IE6 doing wrong and how can I fix it?   Howdy, I have a database I am using the Visual Studio 2010 Database Project tool vsdbcmd.exe to create a schema from. vsdbcmd /a:Import /dsp:Sql /model:"Database" /cs:"Server=SqlServer; Initial Catalog=DatabaseName; Integrated Security=SSPI;" The tool is reporting an error: Error TSD02016, Gen-259 (12,50) The column name is not valid. No table name was specified. How would I go about pinpointing where this error is originating? I have found one resource on the internet (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com....) that points to a possibility of a keyword used incorrectly, but the error messages are not the same. What is Gen-259? For example, this url from Amazon Japan has Japanese characters within the querystring (specifically, the path): http://www.amazon.co.jp/????????-DVD-???/dp/B00005R5J3/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1269891925&sr=8-3 What I would like to do is have: http://www.mysite.com/???????? or even http://www.mysite.com/index.php?name=???????? be able to properly decode the $GET[name] string. I think I have tried all of the urldecode and utf8_decode possibilities, but I just get gibberish in response. This all works fine in a form $_POST, but I need these urls to be emailable...

• Conflict between Jquery Validate and Asp.net MVC

  Hi I am using asp.net mvc 2.0 and jquery validate 1.7 (http://bassistance.de/jquery-plugins/jquery-plugin-validation/) What happens is this. A user can click on a link to edit a product. When a user clicks on which product they want to edit a jquery dialog box appears with a form of textboxes and dropdown lists. These html controls have information filled in them. Say if the user chooses to edit the Ipad product a dialog will appear and one of the form textboxes will have "Ipad" in it. Now this form gets rendered on the server side(the form is in a partial view). When loading the dialog box a ajax request is made to get that partial view and in the response part of the ajax call I do something like $('#EditDialog).html(ajaxresponse).dialog({...}); So I would have something like this rendered in my dialog box <form id="EditProduct"> Product Name: <input type="text" value="IPad" name="ProductName" /> </form> Now my jquery validate would be something like this. $("#EditProduct").validate( { errorContainer: "#Errorbox", errorLabelContainer: "#Errorbox ul", wrapper: "li", rules: { ProductName: "required" } }); So I know this works because I use the same validate for add product and if you try to leave ProductName blank it will show a validation error. Now it does not work with the edit one though and I think I know the reason why but not how to fix it. The value for the textbox is "IPad" this is how the Html.TextBoxFor() renders it. However if a user goes and changes the product name to "Iphone" or blank the value never changes. It is always "Ipad" in the html. So I think when the validate goes and looks it goes oh there is a value already in it. It is valid even though in reality it might be blank. When I post to the server through ajax it gets the right value and the server side validation stops it but my entire clientside validation is rendered useless because of this problem as it will never change the html.

• Arranging models, views, controllers in a Kohana 3 project

  I'm looking at how to set up a mid-sized web application with Kohana 3. I have implemented MVC patterns in the past but never worked against a "formalized" MVC framework so I'm still getting my head around the terminology - toying around with basic examples, building views and templates, and so on. I'm progressing fairly well but I want to set up a real-world web project (one of my own that I've been planning for quite some time now) as a learning object. I learn best by example, but example-based documentation is a bit sparse for Kohana 3 right now - they say so themselves on the site. While I'm not worried about getting into the framework soon enough, I'm a bit concerned about arranging a healthily structured code base from the start - i.e. how to split up controllers, how to name them, and how to separate the functionality into the appropriate models. My application could, in its core, be described as a business directory with a main businesses table. Businesses can be listed by category and by street name. Each business has a detail page. Business owners can log in and edit their business's entry. Businesses can post offers into an offers table. I know this is pretty vague, but I don't want to cram too much information into this question. I'll be more than happy to go into more detail if needed. Supposing I have all the basic functionality worked out and in place already - list all businesses, edit business, list businesses by street name, create offer, and so on, and I'm just looking for how to fit the functionality into a MVC pattern and into a Kohana application structure that can be easily extended: Do you know real-life, publicly accessible examples of "database-heavy" applications like directories, online communities... with a log-in area built on Kohana 3 where I could take a peek how they do it? Are there conventions or best practices on how to structure an extendable login area for end users in a Kohana project that is not only able to handle a business directory page, but further products on separate pages as well? Do you know application structuring HOWTOs or best practices for Kohana 3 not mentioned in the user guide and the inofficial Wiki? Have you built something similar and could give me some recommendations?

  I'm using the admin interface to view invoices and products. To make things easy, I've set the products as inline to invoices, so I will see the related products in the invoice's form. As you can see I'm using a many-to-many relationship. In models.py: class Product(models.Model): name = models.TextField() price = models.DecimalField(max_digits=10,decimal_places=2) class Invoice(models.Model): company = models.ForeignKey(Company) customer = models.ForeignKey(Customer) products = models.ManyToManyField(Product) In admin.py: class ProductInline(admin.StackedInline): model = Invoice.products.through class InvoiceAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): inlines = [FilteredApartmentInline,] admin.site.register(Product, ProductAdmin) The problem is that django presents the products as a table of drop down menus (one per associated product). Each drop down contains all the products listed. So if I have 5000 products and 300 are associated with a certain invoice, django actually loads 300x5000 product names. Also the table is not aesthetic. How can I change it so that it'll just display the product's name in the inline table? Which form should I override, and how?

• Using XMLDecoder to cast Encoded XML to List<>

  I am writing an application that reads in a large number of basic user details in the following format; once read in it then allows the user to search for a user's details using their email: NAME ROLE EMAIL --------------------------------------------------- Joe Bloggs Manager [email protected] John Smith Consultant [email protected] Alan Wright Tester [email protected] ... The problem I am suffering is that I need to store a large number of details of all people that have worked at the company. The file containing these details will be written on a yearly basis simply for reporting purposes, but the program will need to be able to access these details quickly. The way I aim to access these files is to have a program that asks the user for the name of the unique email of the member of staff and for the program to then return the name and the role from that line of the file. I've played around with text files, but am struggling with how I would handle multiple columns of data when it comes to searching this large file. What is the best format to store such data in? A text file? XML? The size doesn't bother me, but I'd like to be able to search it as quickly as possible. The file will need to contain a lot of entries, probably over the 10K mark over time. EDIT: I've decided to go with the XML serialisation method. I've managed to get the code for Encoding working perfectly, but the Decoding code below does not work. XMLDecoder d = new XMLDecoder( new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream("data.xml"))); List<Employee> list = (List<Employee>) d.readObject(); d.close(); for(Employee x : list) { if(x.getEmail().equals(userInput)) { // do stuff } } When the program hits List<Employee> list = (List<Employee>) d.readObject(); an exception is thrown claiming that "Employee cannot be cast to java.util.List". I've added a bounty to this and anyone that can help me solve this problem once and for all will get lots of lovely points. EDIT 2: I've looked a bit more into the problem and have come across Serialization as a potential answer. If anyone can look into this for me as I've no experience with Serialization or Deserialization I'd be very grateful. It can provide an Object with no problems whatsoever, but I really need to return it in the same format as it went in (List). EDIT 3: Ugh, this problem is really starting to drive me crazy and to be honest I'm starting to think that it's an unsolvable problem. If possible, could someone take a look at the code and help provide a solution for me?

  Hi, I have a rather obscure linking problem in Visual Studio 2008. The linker error message is: "LNK1104: cannot open file 'boost_thread-vc90-mt-gd-1_38.lib'". All pathes and dependencies are set. What I noticed though is that Visual Studio misses boost_thread-vc90-mt-gd-1_38.lib and not libboost_thread-vc90-mt-gd-1_38.lib (notice the lib at the beginning of the file name). I added the .lib as libboost_thread-vc90-mt-gd-1_38.lib to the project and it appears as libboost_thread-vc90-mt-gd-1_38.lib in the command line. Why does Visual Studio the beginning of the file name?

• When will the ValueConverter's Convert method be called in wpf

  I have an ObservableCollection bound to a list box and a boolean property bound to a button. I then defined two converters, one that operates on the collection and the other operates on the boolean property. Whenever I modify the boolean property, the converter's Convert method is called, where as the same is not called if I modify the observable collection. What am I missing?? • Spring ResourceServlet throws too many open files exception in jetty and tomcat under linux

  I was running the petclinic example that was created with spring roo, also I test booking-mvc example that comes whit spring webflow 2.0.9 and the same happens, this is when I reload the main page many times.   I try to setup a project with spring-test using TestNg in Maven. So, test-context.xml is under src/test/resources/, how do I indicate this in the pom.xml so that 'mvn test' command will work? Thanks, UPDATE: Thanks for the reply. Cannot load context file error was caused by I moved the file arround in different location since I though the classpath was the problem. • Passing a ManagedObjectContext to a second view

  I'm writing my first iPhone/Cocoa app. It has two table views inside a navigation view. When you touch a row in the first table view, you are taken to the second table view. I would like the second view to display records from the CoreData entities related to the row you touched in the first view. I have the CoreData data showing up fine in the first table view. You can touch a row and go to the second table view. I'm able to pass info from the selected object from the first to the second view. But I cannot get the second view to do its own CoreData fetching. For the life of me I cannot get the managedObjectContext object to pass to the second view controller. I don't want to do the lookups in the first view and pass a dictionary because I want to be able to use a search field to refine results in the second view, as well as insert new entries to the CoreData data from there. Here's the function that transitions from the first to the second view. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { // Navigation logic may go here -- for example, create and push another view controller. If I do this. trip = Trip.create( { name: 'Flight', flights: { flights: flights.to_json } } ) It works. I don't want this though because now I have to access the json array with trip.flights.flights. Not the behavior I'm wanting.

  In my View (using Zend_View so the the view is an object), I make calls to object properties and methods to populate the template like so: <?= $this->user->name ?> // Outputs John Doe <br/> <?= $this->user->getCompany()->name ?> // Outputs Acme <br/> <?= $this->method() ?> // Outputs foobar If I make it so that all property requests (like for 'user') go through __get() is there any way that I can catch the subsequent calls so that I can force a method call on the final outputted value? For example so that I could do automatic escaping of output. As I see it right now, I either have to escape the input as it goes into the database or use compiled templates like Smarty does, or switch to assigning every variable to the View object so that it has direct control to force escaping before outputting the data.
