  • ID cannot be null (Auto Increment)

    - by THeK
I'm using an INSERT ON DUPLICATE KEY statement for my website. It's for creating news items, so I figured I could use the same MySQL command for both creating and updating news items. However, when I use the following: INSERT INTO table (id,title, content) VALUES(NULL,"Test","Test"); Instead of creating a new auto increment value it throws an error. However, the command works on my main development server. But not on my laptop. Both versions of MySQL are the same, the only difference being MySQL was installed manually on my server, and with WAMP on my laptop. Are there any MySQL Variables that could be causing this?

  • Need to integrate phpFox and Wordpress so that there is a single login.

    - by Jason
phpFox should take care of user login management, add user and edit user. But would like to automatically create a corresponding Wordpress account when user signs up for phpFox. And when user logs into phpFox user is auto logged into Wordpress so user doesn't really even realize Wordpress login or user account exists. What would be the best way to do this? Apps will be on the same server so could make native calls or use curl.

  • Value of variable changing before function is finished running

    - by Patrick
I have an image uploading script in which i use the following setup to assign names to uploaded images; $saltdate = date( 'U' ); $saltuser = $_SERVER[REMOTE_ADDR]; $saltname = md5($saltdate.$saltuser); // Recieve, Process, Save uploaded image // Update database with image name The problem that i encounter is that after processing/saving the image, when its time to add this file name to the database, the value of $saltdate seems to have changed and i will get a file name in the database that doesnt exist. How can i make sure that the value doesn't change once i establish it?

  • preg_match_all with surrounding data

    - by user323304
Hey. I have a large amount of log data that I need to get some relevant information out of. The syntax is: WORD1 some text KEYWORD some text WORD2 WORD1 some text KEYWORD some text WORD2 WORD1 some text KEYWORD some text WORD2 WORD1 some text KEYWORD some text WORD2 Would it be possible to use regex to get a certain block out of it - so that when I queried some keyword it would return WORD1 some text THIS_KEYWORD some text WORD2 PS: There could be multiple instances of one keyword, it should return all of the blocks (preg_match_all, PREG_SET_ORDER?).

  • How should i store availability calendar information in mysql? for [id] [date] [available/unavailab

    - by Haroldo
I'm building a simple calendar for holiday cottages to show when they are booked or available. What would be the fastest mysql table design for this, bearing in mind when users mark dates as available/booked they will do so via a start date and an end date. i can see 2 obvious options Store 'booked' data for every day [more rows] or, store 'booked' data with 2 columns a start_date and end_date [more processing?] Which is best or is there another method i'm missing?

  • call_user_function_array() and __construct

    - by John
I'm working on a simple framework, and I'm having a slight problem. I'd like to use call_user_function_array() to pass parameters to a function. That's fine, except the function I want to pass it to is __construct. I can't create an instance of an object with cufa(), and by instantiating an object, and then using cufa to call that instance's __construct(), I run into problems with a broken class because I'm calling the constructor twice (and one time it's called wrong.)

  • Wordpress Hooks vs. includes?

    - by Chris J. Lee
This is somewhat a subjective question. Noticed themes like thematic and carrington use hooks to display their themes. Trying to figure out which works best for a more efficient workflow. Which seems more efficient at theming? Trying to weigh in the cons and pros of hooks vs. just including static files.
