    I'm using the following function to get a URL parameter. function gup(name, url) { name = name.replace(/[\[]/, '\\\[').replace(/[\]]/, '\\\]'); var results = new RegExp('[\\?&]'+name+'=?([^&#]*)').exec(url || window.location.href); return results == null ? null : results[1]; } It works only if the parameter has a value, for example. gup('a', 'http://example.com/page.php?a=1&b=2'); will return 1. But if I try gup('a', 'http://example.com/page.php?a&b=2'); It returns null. I want it to return true because parameter "a" exists in that url, even though it has no value it's still there and gup() should return true. Could I get a bit of help rewriting this? I'm not that good with regex.

I need a way to bust client cache on new JS modules, by way of a different requested URL. i.e., if the file hello/there.js has already been cached on the client, I can change the file name to force the browser to get the new file. In other words, for the module hello/there, I'd like require.js to request the url hello/there___v1234___.js (the file name can look different, it's just an example), according to a version string which is accessible on the client. What is the best way to achieve that?

    As you can imagine, Googling or Binging for any phrase containing an '@' is difficult. In creating a new web service, one of the members of the imported C# proxy class is prefixed with the @. For example: plan.@event = new Insurance.Event(); I assume that it is Visual Studio's way resolving potential conflicts with reserved words because 'event' is a reserved word. Changing the property in the web service interface to something other than 'event' (i.e. 'healthevent') removes the @ from the property. Is this a correct assumption?

At the end of the test, the test-engine will evaluate the answers. If the student obtains more than 50% then he can unlock the next module. And his test score is printed using Crystal Reports and saved in teacher's database, against that student's record. Else, if his score is less than 50%, the test-engine will count the no. of attempts to clear the quiz & randomly generate another set of 20 questions from a file (from the teacher's database).   • Is there a way to accept '%' as part of input that works both in python 2.6 & 3.0?

    In 2.6, if I needed to accept input that allowed a percent sign (such as "foo % bar"), I used raw_input() which worked as expected. In 3.0, input() accomplishes that same (with raw_input() having left the building). As an exercise, I'm hoping that I can have a backward-compatible version that will work with both 2.6 and 3.0. When I use input() in 2.6 and enter "foo % bar", the following error is returned: File "<string>", line 1, in <module> NameError: name "foo" is not defined ...which is expected. Anyway to to accomplish acceptance of input containing a percent sign that works in both 2.6 and 3.0? Thx.

    When I execute virt-copy-in command on a kvm host(Debian7.1), I got error saying "guestfish not found". However according to the dpkg comamnd, guestfish do have been installed: john@sver:~$ dpkg-query -l | grep guestfs* ii libguestfs-perl ... ii libguestfs-tools ... ii libguestfs0 ... What's the problem? Is the libguestfs-tools not the guestfish in Debian? Or it's just a broken dependency in libguestfs-tools in Debian7.1(my KVM Host)?

  • Acer Aspire One 725 - missing graphic card driver for Radeon HD 7290?

    Recently I bought an Acer Aspire One 725 Netbook and installed Ubuntu 12.10 on it. I bought it, because it can run HD movies and has Full HD on external VGA port. However, movies from youtube have a really slow framerate. If you open three tabs in Opera (for example g-mail, youtube and askubuntu) it gets really laggy. My suspicion is that the driver for graphic card is missing. When I check the System->Details->Graphics the driver is unknown. After running lspci | grep VGA I get this output: 00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Device 980a From what I see, I have a AMD C70 processor integrated with AMD Radeon HD 7290. Has anyone had the same problem? Do you know which drivers need to be installed for the graphics to work properly? On official Acer page there are only drivers for Win7 and Win8... Update: OK. Another attempt. I have a fresh Ubuntu 12.10. All updates done. downloaded Catalyst 12.11 beta drivers and decided to create a package.   • dmidecode showing more ram slots than available?

    I have some failing RAM in a server and I ran dmidecode to figure out what tyoe of RAM I needed to replace it with. The server has 6 RAM slots, 4 of which are in use. When I run dmidecode this is what I get. dmidecode 2.10 SMBIOS 2.4 present.     I am happily working on a contract for a good, solid company. This client is very happy with my work and has asked me to consider converting to full-time employment. My problem is the headhunter. This firm has not been entirely upfront with me throughout this contract. A mistake was made by the firm that benched me for several days, costing me those days' pay. Inadequate healthcare coverage left me with a bill of several thousand dollars after my wife's brief hospital stay. My feeling is that I did the work that earned me the invitation to work full-time for this company. Asking for 1/3 of the commission I figure they're going to receive would nicely counterbalance the inequities that I perceive were dealt to me. Is this an (un)reasonable or (in)appropriate request?

  • Excel string manipulation to check data consistency

    Background information: - There are nearly 7000 individuals and there is data about their performances in one, two or three tests. Every individual has taken the 1st test (let's call it Test M). Some of those who have taken Test M have also taken Test I, and some of those who have taken Test I have also taken Test B. For the first two tests (M and I), students can score grades I, II, or III. Depending on the grades they are awarded points -- 3 for grade I, 2 for II, 1 for III. The last Test B is just a pass or a fail result with no grades. Those passing this test get 1 point, with no points for failure. (Well actually, grades are awarded, but all grades are given a common 1 point). An amateur has entered data to represent these students and their grades in an Excel file. Problem is, this person has done the worst thing possible - he has developed his own notation and entered all test information in a single cell --- and made my life hell. The file originally had two text columns, one for individual's id, and the second for test info, if one could call it that. It's horrible, I know, and I am suffering. In the image, if you see "M-II-2 I-III-1" it means the person got grade II in Test M for 2 points and grade III in Test I for 1 point. Some have taken only one test, some two, and some three. When the file came to me for processing and analyzing the performance of students, I sent it back with instructions to insert 3 additional columns with only the grades for the three tests. The file now looks as follows. Columns C and D represent grades I, II, and III using 1,2 and 3 respectively. Column C is for Test M, column D for Test I. Column E says BA (B Achieved!) if the individual has passed Test B. Now that you have the above information, let's get to the problem. I don't trust this and want to check whether data in column B matches with data in columns C,D and E. That is, I want to examine the string in column B and find out whether the figures in columns C,D and E are correct. All help is really appreciated. P.S. - I had exported this to MySQL via ODBC and that is why you are seeing those NULLs. I tried doing this in MySQL too, and really will accept a MySQL or an Excel solution, I don't have a preference. Edit : - See file with sample data

    Hi guys I'm trying to read through an email inbox for my application - I'm using the zend framework here. The problem is that I'm unable to retrieve the message body for certain emails.
