  Hello! I want to write a comparation procedure (t-sql) for site seo. I have a table with field 'url' (nvarchar()) that contain a part of site url's. Ex: 'mysyte.com/?id=2'. Also this table for each url contains metadata, that i need to extract. The main problem is that full url on site looks like 'mysyte.com/?id=2&region=0&page=1', and i just need to ignore everething, except url in table: I mean: 'mysyte.com/?id=2' = is a part of 'mysyte.com/?id=2&region=0&page=1'

  I am using the Model-View pattern on a small application I'm writing. Here's the scenario: The model maintains a list of directories from where it can extract the data that it needs. The View has a Configuration or a Setting dialog where the user can modify this list of directories (the dialog has a JList displaying the list in addition to add and remove buttons). I need some advice from the community: The View needs to communicate these changes to the model. I thought first of adding to the model these methods: addDirectory() and removeDirectory(). But I am trying to limit the number of methods (or channels) that the View can use to communicate with and manipulate the model. Is there any good practice for this? Thank you.

  Hi, In order to do some statistical analysis I need to extract values in a column of an Excel sheet. I have been using the Apache POI package to read from Excel files, and it works fine when one needs to iterate over rows. However I couldn't find anything about getting columns neither in the API (link text) nor through google searching. As I need to get max and min values of different columns and generate random numbers using these values, so without picking up individual columns, the only other option is to iterate over rows and columns to get the values and compare one by one, which doesn't sound all that time-efficient. Any ideas on how to tackle this problem? Thanks,

• NSArrayController that is sorted and unique (no duplicates) for use in a pop-up in a core-data app

  I have core data app with an entity OBSERVATION that has as one of its attributes DEALNAME. I want to reference through Interface Builder or by making custom modifications to an NSArrayController a list of unique sorted dealnames so that I can use them in a pop-up. I have attempted to use @distinctUnionOfSets (and @distinctUnionOfArrays) but am unable to locate the proper key sequence. I can sort the ArrayController by providing a sort descriptor, but do not know how to eliminate duplicates. Are the @distinct... keys the right methodology? It would seem to provide the easiest way to optimize the use of IB. Is there a predicate form for removing duplicates? Or do I need to use my custom controller to extract an NSSet of the specific dealnames, put them back in an array and sort it and reference the custom array from IB? Any help would be appreciated. I am astounded that other have not tried to create a sorted-unique pop-up in tableviews.

  Hi folks...I have a dictionary with embedded objects, which looks something like this: notes = { 2009: [<Note: Test note>, <Note: Another test note>], 2010: [<Note: Third test note>, <Note: Fourth test note>], } I'm trying to access each of the note objects inside a django template, and having a helluva time navigating to them. In short, I'm not sure how to extract by index in django templating. Current template code is: <h3>Notes</h3> {% for year in notes %} {{ year }} # Works fine {% for note in notes.year %} {{ note }} # Returns blank {% endfor %} {% endfor %} If I replace {% for note in notes.year %} with {% for note in notes.2010 %} things work fine, but I need that '2010' to be dynamic.   Hi people, i need to write a program, that can redirect's http://localhost:8080 to en.wikipedia.org, it seems to be easy, but i have some problems(only with wikipedia with another sites works good). I make url to wikipedia: URL url = new URL("http", "en.wikipedia.org", 80, "/wiki"); than URLConnection, extract headers, and when i want connection.getInputStream(), i received message 404 Not Found. So i have tried some hack for host header, because in this way host header is localhost:8080, therefor i have tried to change host header to wikipedia, and it works, but after request in browser http://localhost:8080 wikipedia opens, but url in browser changes to en.wikipedia.org, but i want proceed with localhost :)

  Hi, Could anybody help me make a proper regular expression from a bunch of text in Ruby. I tried a lot but I don't know how to handle variable length titles. The string will be of format <sometext>title:"<actual_title>"<sometext>. I want to extract actual_title from this string. I tried /title:"."/ but it doesnt find any matches as it expects a closing quotation after one variable from opening quotation. I couldn't figure how to make it check for variable length of string. • After Port Forwarding, how to get my external IP in Java ?

  I set up a static IP and did port forwarding on my notebook, and now I have a static IP address, but it's relatively static, every time I re-start the machine, I get another address, and since I have a "static" IP I can now do Paypal IPN messaging. But how can I get this static IP from my Java program ? One way I can think of is to visit : http://portforward.com/ and on that page it tells me what my external IP is, so I can extract it with Java code, is there any other way that I can do in my Java code to get this info ?

• iPhone simple commercial barcode reader via camera

  Hey all, I've done some iPhone programming (safely midlevel) and now a requirement has come up for us to write a barcode reader that uses the iPhone camera. This is not for shopping or the general public but will be for internal use. My first thought was to simply programatically take a picture, upload it to server, and have a web service or something similar handle the heavy lifting of extracting the numbers out of the bar code. However I recently installed some apps already available on the iPhone that read bar codes, refer you to shopping sites, etc. and they seem to use the video camera to identify barcodes and extract the numbers. Does anyone know how this is being done or could point me to some open source or sample code?

How can I search special characters in a string using PHP ?

  Total row-count is in the range 10k-100k rows. Can I use RAND() on force.com? Unfortunately although all the rows have a unique numeric identifier, there are many gaps, and I'd often want to select a random row from a filtered subset anyway. I suspect there's no particularly efficient way to do this, but is it possible at all? Ultimately all I want to do is to extract one row from a table (or a subset based on specific filter criteria) at random. If force.com doesn't let me select a random row, then can I query the rows to select from, and assign sequential IDs to all the rows, say 1-1,035, and then select a random number in that range locally, say 349, and then get row 349?

I have quite a lot of content to have in my application to make it run properly, and I'm thinking of putting all of it in a database, and distribute it in an embeded database with the application in the market. The only trouble is that I have no idea of how to do that. I know that I can extract a file .db from Eclipse DDMS with the content of my database, and I suppose I need to put it in the asset folder of my application, but then how to make the application use it to regenerate the application database? I am not concerned with performance optimization, because the results are being parsed to an XML file that will serve as a cache (database is hardly updated). So even a dirty solution would be fine.   How does one create a JAR file programmatically using java.util.jar.JarOutputStream? The JAR file produced by my program looks correct (it extracts fine) but when I try loading a library from it Java complains that it cannot find files which are clearly stored inside it. If I extract the JAR file and use Sun's jar command-line tool to re-compress it the resulting library works fine. In short, something is wrong with my JAR file. • Is there a more efficient way to retrieve tables from websites using wpf + webclient

  new to the community, but here is my first question that I am stuck on. I am new to WPF and WebClient using c# and I am attempting to make a program that access www.nba.com to populate a combobox I have with team names, and then when a user selects a team from the combobox, I wanted to populate a portion of the main window with the roster from the teams home site, same style and eveything. I was able to populate the combobox using the WebClient.OpenRead and reading in the markup to extract the team names. Now I am on the more difficult part. I was planning on using the same method to grab all the markup and then somehow display the table in a content panel, but I feel that this is a very tedious thing to do. Can anyone give me any tips for completing this action or is there a method in the webclient class that allows me to search a webpage for a table or object other than text? Thanks.

What is the best course of action to make the information secure and easy to extract on the receiver side?   I'm working on a software which follows the HTTP redirection which is dynamically calculated by the server depending on a pparameter. I don't want to show the primary server in Mobile Safari but rather the redirected address only. The sendSynchronousRequest blocks the app for this time completely which is messy, I can't even display the "Busy" animation. Does anyone know how I can retrieve the redirected address asynchronously without safari appearance in the meanwhile with the redirecting server URL or display some sort of the "Be patient" animation during the sendSynchronousRequest? What disadvantages would have the passing of sendSynchronousRequest in another thread?

Some nodes will be good XML and will go into an XElement, however, some will not. In the CATCH, I'd like to now only catch the standard XmlException stuff... I'd also like to catch an extract of the current Xml and a string. However, if I do any kind of READ operation on the node before I pass it to the XElement, it moves the reader forward. How can get a "snapshot" of the contents of the OuterXml of the reader without interfering with it's position?

The libs number around 40-50 and it's really hard to determine what the structure was initially meant to be, there isn't clear documentation on the full dependency map. What tools would anyone recommend to extract such data? Presumably, in the simplest manner, if did the following: define the set of paths which correspond to library units set all .cpp/.h files within those to belong to those compilation units capture the 1st order #include dependency tree One would have enough information to compose a map - refactor - and recompose the map, until one has created some order. I note that http://www.ndepend.com have something nice but that's exclusively .NET unfortunately. I read something about Doxygen being able accomplish some static dependency analysis with configuration; has anyone ever pressed it into service to accomplish such a task?

  Hi, I can easily validate a XML document against a XML Schema, eg. with XMLSpy or programmatically. Is it possible to do this with a WSDL file? It does not seem possible with XMLSpy or any other XML tool I know. For me the only possibility right now is to do it programmatically, eg. by generating Java code from the WSDL and starting a request, which is then marshalled correctly. If there is no tool / easy programmatic approach, is there a tool which can extract XML Schema from the WSDL? Best

• Which workflow engine should I chose for implementing a dynamic reconfiguration of workflows?

  I want to be able to interrupt a running workflow instance, say when a new activity is about to be invoked, and extract information both about the structure of the workflow and the data in the particular instance. Then I will consult with an external system and according to its response I will possibly alter the behaviour of the workflow. The options I would like to have are addition/removal of activities and altering parameters for the activities to be invoked. I am currently struggling with the engine it's best to go with. I have looked at WWF, Apache ODE, Oracle Workflow and Active BPEL and as far as I understand they can all provide me with the options I need. I would really appreciate any recommendations on which one will be the easiest to work with for my purpose and any restrictions either of the above might have that would prevent me from reaching my goal.
