According to the tutorial, running xjc on the schema, one will get PurchaseOrder.java interface and PurchaseOrderType.java interface. When I run xjc on my schema I only get a ProjectType.java class, and when the xml actually consist of a single element, this won't parse, because there are no Project.java class/interface to match.

  I have the following tables: users (id, username, ... ) roles (id, name) roles_users (user_id, role_id) I am wondering how I can create a nice sort of user-role-grid from that which an admin can use to administer roles to users in a clear way. What I would like is basically a table full of checkboxes sort of like this: Login Editor Admin Alice ¦ ¦ ¦ Bob ¦ ? ? Carol ¦ ¦ ? [Apply] Generating the table isn't too much of a deal, but I am very unsure how to handle it when it comes to how to name all the checkboxes and especially how to read and update the database in a not too clumsy way. Does anyone have any good advice or pointers on how to do this in a mostly clean way? I'm using the Kohana 3 framework, if there is anything there that can make this even easier, but I of course welcome any answer.

  I have a homework question for one specific item with python GUIs. My goal is to create a GUI that asks a random mathematical equation and if the equation is evaluated correctly, then I will receive a message stating that it is correct. My main problem is finding out where to place my statements so that they show up in the labels; I have 1 textbox which generates the random equation, the next textbox is blank for me to enter the solution, and then an "Enter" button at the end to evaluate my solution. It looks like this: [randomly generated equation][Empty space to enter solution] [ENTER] I've managed to get the layout and the evaluate parameters, but I don't know where to go from here. • Trying to generate proportionally cropped thumbnails at a fixed width/height with PHP GD

  I'm trying to create a Thumbnail Generator in PHP with GD that will take an image and reduce it to a fixed width/height. The square it takes from the original image (based on my fixed width/height) will come from the center of the image to give a proportionally correct thumbnail. I'll try to demonstrate that confusing sentence with some nice ASCII :} LANDSCAPE EXAMPLE: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXOOOOOOOOXXXX XXXXOOOOOOOOXXXX XXXXOOOOOOOOXXXX XXXXOOOOOOOOXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX PORTRAIT EXAMPLE: XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX OOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX As you can see, it pulls out a square from the center of the image to use as a thumbnail. It seems simple, in theory, to get the height/width of the image and then calculate the offset based on my fixed width/height to get the thumbnail. But I can't seem to think of a way to code it :/ Also, how would I go about resizing the image before pulling out the center square? So the thumbnail contains a detailed image of the original rather than some zoomed in graphic?

  My question here is similar to the question here, except that I am working with C#. I have two colors, and I have a predefine steps. How to retrieve a list of Colors that are the gradients between the two? This is an approach that I tried, which didn't work: int argbMax = Color.Chocolate.ToArgb(); int argbMin = Color.Blue.ToArgb(); var colorList = new List<Color>(); for(int i=0; i<size; i++) { var colorAverage= argbMin + (int)((argbMax - argbMin) *i/size); colorList.Add(Color.FromArgb(colorAverage)); } If you try the above code, you will find that a gradual increase in argb doesn't correspond to a visual gradual increase in the color. Any idea on this?

• SSH Password/User problem with Cygwin sshd service

  hello I just set up SSHd through Cygwin on a Windows XP Pro box overseas using a RAT and discluded the openssh package from the install. I ran the cywin shell (from c:\cywin) and ran Now, It's under a port I know is safe and fowarded properly, but I won't share it's number. It's not a common port, but it's under 40000. Firewalls are off etc etc. I'm on the first Admin account made on the box. (It's full admin) I've run the following commands chmod +r /etc/passwd chmod +r /etc/group hmod 777 /var /*Created New Admin User Account To Be Used via SSH*/ mkpasswd -cl > /etc/passwd mkgroup --local > /etc/group I can connect locally, but not externally. I know my ports etc are fine. Any possible problems, as i really need this tunnel up :P

  Let's say that you have a standalone application (a Java application in my case) and that this application has a configuration file (a XML file in my case) where you store the credentials (user and password) for a bunch of databases you need to connect. Everything works great, but now you discover (or your are given a new requirement like me) that you have to put this application in a different server and that you can't have these credentials in the configuration files because of security and/or compliance considerations. I'm considering to use data sources hosted in the application server (a WAS server), but I think this could have poor performance and maybe it's not the best approach since I'm connecting from a standalone application. I was also considering to use some sort of encryption, but I would like to keep things as simple as possible. How would you handle this case? Where would you put these credentials or protect them from being compromised? Or how would you connect to your databases in this scenario?

What I have done: I already know how to store data in NSUserDefault. and also the reason why do we need to store it. Regarding Keychain I just know that storing in keychain stores the data with some extra security by encoding the original text while NSUserDefault stores the data as plain text.   I'm working on an app that sends raw data to zebra printer and print out barcodes. And since every item has its own unique barcode, I need to define a variable that automatically generates unique number of 12 digits long. see example: printBar prnt = new printBar("123456789012"); Is there anyway to define a double variable and pass it to a function that return uniqely 12 digits number and pass it over again to the printBar class?. But how to make sure everytime you access it returns a unique value?. I also thought of another way, since am using MS Access db, I can create a column of AutoNumber datatype and assign it to Random, but you don't get the exact 12 digits required, sometimes it generates a value of 10 digits sometimes more or less.

  I'm trying to zip a large number of pdf files (stored as BLOBs in the DB) and then return the zip as an attachment to the user. What's the best way to do this without running into memory issues? Another note: I actually need to merge some PDFs prior to adding them to the ZipOutputStream. Therefore, a couple PDFs will need to be stored in memory at a time. I assume it would be best to then store them as temporary files on the server before zipping them all?

• How to systematically generate images from data?

  I work for a performing arts nonprofit. We have seating charts for each of the theaters we work with; each seating chart shows the number of sections, the shape of each section, and the number of rows in each section. We'd like to create dynamic seating charts based on this info. We'd like them to look/feel kinda like this: http://www.fansnap.com/tickets/177754-on. But the tricky part is we'd like to be able to store all the info about each theater (the section names, shape/size of each section, and number of rows in each section) as data and then build a system that reads this data and uses it to create a dynamic map. I'm a life-long web developer, but I don't have have any experience with a difficult graphics problem like this. I realize it's a complex problem and I don't expect anyone to give me a complete answer here, but I would love direction on where I should be looking for more info. Is what I'm describing possible? Does this sort of technique have a name? Where can I learn more about how to accomplish this? What software should I use? Any info would be helpful.

  I'm looking at using the JasperReport Web Services to create user specific reports. As opposed to getting a user to supply the name of the user to use for the query (and therefore expose a risk of users viewing each others data), I'd like within JasperReport to pull out their identity from their (Basic) authentication details from the web service run report call and then use their user name as a query parameter when running the report. Is there any documentation or examples on how this can be achieved?
