I very interested in remote access to my server, in particular restarting it when it is in a stalled or blue-screen state.. How can I determine if my server is AMT enabled?     I found this site to compare CPU's. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html What wasn't clear is how the benchmark for multiple core processors is calculated. If one CPU has 4 cores (such as Intel Core i7 which comes in 2, 4, and 6 core versions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core_i7#Core_i7), does that mean that the benchmark should be double that of the version that has 2 cores (assuming the same clock frequency)?

  • Black Screen After Sleep (Win 8)

    I have an SSD only, Intel HD Graphics only, Ultrabook running on Windows 8 64-bit and after I turn it back on, after a long sleep of a few hours, the screen remains black even though the power is on (the fan and keyboard backlight are on). I have to force a shut down and switch it back on to use it normally again. Hibernation and hybrid-sleep are turned off. It comes out of sleep of less than an hour just fine. Any advise? Mark

    I have an Asus EEEBox (EB202, intel GMA 950) hooked up to my 1080p TV (DVI-HDMI cable). I use it to watch standard definition movies and TV shows. I prefer to run at 1280x720 so that I can see things more easily, but every time I turn off the TV, then back on again, the resolution defaults to 1080p (1920x1080). How can I force a specific resolution? If that's not possible, is there a way to use a batch script to switch to the desired resolution faster?

    Hi there! I tried running DxDiag (DirectX diagnostics), and I noticed that my graphics card is set to the onboard one that comes with the Core i5 processor (some Intel HD stuff). On my computer, I also have a dedicated graphics card (an Nvidia 310). No serious gaming stuff, I know - just for programming. However, I would still love to know how to switch to that dedicated graphics card instead. My laptop is an MSI CX720.

    I have a new computer with an Asus P8Z68-V LE + Intel i2500 + 8GB of RAM. I installed Ubuntu without any issue, but the USB3 (from the motherboard - on the back of the computer) doesn't work. I plug a USB stick -- nothing, I plug my USB3 external drive -- nothing, when I plug them into the USB2 and everything works perfectly. Also, I ran all updates and everything is up to date. What am I missing?

    I understand the 32 bit Vista limit in addressing only 4Gb of memory space but I have a very specific question: I have 3Gb installed on a Vista 32 bit system with a 512Mb video card, MSI X-58 board, Intel i7, 920 CPU. System Information currently shows: Installed Memory: 3.00Gb Available Physical Memory: 1.73 Gb My understanding is that the 512Mb video card occupies memory addresses between 4.0Gb and 3.5Gb and so does not subtract from the 3.0Gb of physical memory (correct my understanding if wrong) My Question: If I install another 1Gb of RAM, will my Available Memory increase to 2.73Gb?
