  • Hidden features of PL/SQL

    - by Adam Paynter
In light of the "Hidden features of..." series of questions, what little-known features of PL/SQL have become useful to you? Edit: Features specific to PL/SQL are preferred over features of Oracle's SQL syntax. However, because PL/SQL can use most of Oracle's SQL constructs, they may be included if they make programming in PL/SQL easier.

  • Cucumber and Silverlight 4

    - by weijiajun
So I am wondering if anyone is familiar or has done any work with cucumber and Silverlight. I currently have a template directory and build file that will create RSpec tests using Bacon (light weight RSpec). I have been looking into SpecFlow and Cuke2Nuke but almost everything I have seen works with general .net code not silverlight code. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I have a WPF application which runs perfectly fine on vista/7 but on Windows XP it chucks up the System.Windows.Markup.XamlParse error, and it's quite frustrating because I have a hell of a lot of controls in my application and I don't know what is causing the problem. Can anyone shine some light here? Thanks.

  • What's the worst working environment you've had to suffer?

    - by John
We'll leave "worst job ever" for another day if it wasn't already done... but after some recent discussions on good environments, what is the worst you've had? I've always been quite lucky - seats that go up and down, some kind of natural light, etc. But I think I dodged a bullet... what horror stories can you share?

  • Any simple way to "resize" an NSBezierPath?

    - by d11wtq
I have an NSBezierPath that I'm filling and stroking. I'd like to add some inner glow to the path (a light stroke, just inside of the outer stroke), and the thing that comes to mind is to use the same path shrunk by 1 pixel (the size of the line that is already )stroked. Is there a way to do this? Alternatively, is there some sort of pattern I can use when applying both a border (stroke) and a glow to a bezier path? Example, the (extremely subtle) inner glow on the Google Chrome tabs:

  • JS Display Content based on Dropdown User input

    - by Thomas
I am working on a search box that displays different options based on a users selection via dropdown box. Basically I need a really clean, light-weight method for switching out different divs without reloading the page. Im new to JS, but I know enough that there should be some really simple way of setting the display property using JS - Im just not totally sure how to go about it. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

Working through online tutorials currently, probably going to pick up Head First C#.

  • How to organize Drupal templates?

    - by picardo
I created a few custom templates while modifying a theme (Acquia Prosper), and my usual practice is to put all my templates in this fashion: theme-name/templates/page/page-front.tpl.php But it didn't quite work this time. So I'm wondering why. I looked through the templates.php for a clue, but there is nothing there. My base theme where I used this organization was genesis, and in that theme it seems to work, but not in Acquia Prosper. Can anyone shed some light on this?

  • Issue with Column footer and Summary bands on Jasper reports

    - by lakshmi
I am creating invoices with Jasper reports. I have a detail section that has the list of all items followed by a column footer which has Totals, Tax etc., and then the return policy in the Summary section. I want to always ensure that the detail is followed by column footer followed by summary bands. How can we ensure this? I found that sometimes the Summary comes before the Column footer. Can someone throw some light on this? Thanks, Lakshmi

  • On iPhone, what does EPERM (errno == 1) mean in reponse to send() of UDP data?

    - by Chris Markle
We sending data over UDP from the iPhone, sometimes, but not always, in response to our first send() of UDP data, we are getting back a -1 return code and errno set to 1 (EPERM / operation not permitted). The EPERM result for send(), sendto() and sendmsg() is not documented in the man pages as a return result from those functions. Has anyone out there encountered this and might be able to shed some light on what this errno value means in this context?

  • Body CSS Gradient that Stops and Continues as Solid Color

    - by Alfo
Something similar to this question has been asked here - HTML/CSS Gradient that stops at a perticular height and continues further with a solid color, but as far as I can see this doesn't work when using it on the body for a background color - which is what I want to achieve. Specifically, I would like it to be light blue at the top of the page, gradient into dark blue 200px further down, and then continue in dark blue for ever. Thanks to anybody who can help, Alfo.

  • Securing Coredata objects

    - by Abraham Durairaj
I am working on an application which has got some sensitive information. I am aware that it would be difficult for a layman to hack into iphone to get the information. If I use SQLite directly I have something called SQLite Cipher to encrypt / encode the database. Is there anyway where I can have the same way of encrypting the coredata so it makes it hard for hackers to get into the data. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks in Advance

    if (preg_match('(\p{Nd}{4}/\p{Nd}{2}/\p{Nd}{2}/\p{L}+)', '2010/02/14/this-is-something')) { // do stuff } The above code works.   • Is F# a poor choice for a functional language

    - by dagda1
Hi, To me, I think F# is a bad choice due to the fact that it uses threads behind the scenes. To me, threads are too "heavy" due to things like context switching. I can see why Erlang is a good choice because it uses light weight processes. Am I wrong? Cheers Paul

  • Joomla, Drupal, DotNetNuke or something else for a sport club?

    - by kjm
I am setting up a web site for a football club and I am wondering which CMS to use. I am a developer but I am doing this as a favour to a friend and would rather grab something with modules in it (registration, events, calender, etc etc) already. I need to be able to customise it but I had a look around and Wordpress looks like a blogging tool. I am wondering if anyone has experience with the above or any others and if shed some light. Thanks
