  I want to start something like a personal TuneWiki on my computer. I'm using Windows and have a lot of MP3s. Now I want to add lyrics to them for personal use. I tried Windows Media Player but it is bit a hard to synchronize all of the text with the song time. Are there other tools or players for adding lyrics so that when I start to play a song the streaming text will be synchronized with the beat?

• How can I fix a broken AVI file?

  I have a broken AVI, it won't play in VLC, Xine or MPlayer. I tried Handbrake (reads the file and resets the source to None), OggConvert, Avidemux and mencoder fail to read the file, I cannot seem to reencode this file. I suspect the header info is corrupt, is there a way to get the a/v streams out with a missing header?

I have an audio cd, which has audio files with the file format as .cda ( CD Audio Track ). Each one of these files have a size of 1 KB each, and the rest of the CD has nothing else. Is there a way that I can get the audio files from the CD and then convert it into mp3 format and then play it in any other devices as I like.

But my problem is after I updated my music collection and started to play it (it is all loaded into my playlist), amarok doesn't start next song after the current song is finished.   Hello, I am using virtualBox with windows datacenter to play around with some web development. The last time I had to shut down the computer, it installed an update and shut down normally. When I rebooted, it started doing a checkdisk and processed a bunch of files (from hard poweroffs before mabey). Now when I start, I get a bluescreen of death every time it loads (Safe mode,etc) I have googled around for a boot / recovery disk, but can't seem to find one for datacenter. Cheers -Will

  I use mpd on 3 Ubuntu servers at home. Apparently, if you take a .pls file and convert it to a .m3u file, you can stream it as long as you put is in the designated mpd playlist directory. In my case, the path to that directory is /var/lib/mpd/playlists. When I move the converted file to this directly, even though the mpd client recognizes the saved .m3u file, it won't play it. Does anyone have experience with this function of mpd?

  Whenever I play a flash video on my browser (whichever I use, Chrome, Firefox or IE), there's a risk that I lose my Internet connection. I know it's limited to my computer only as my roommates are unaffected. I'm the only one that loses connection. Using Internet Explorer's diagnosis tool always repairs the connection, but it's annoying as hell. My OS is Windows XP, if that matters. Anyone knows what may be causing this and how to fix it?

As a work-around, I'll just play the videos and record the soundtrack for later listening.
