  • Setting a cookie based on the name of the link that is clicked.

    TLDR When clicking on a link I want to assign a cookie with a name of instrument and a value of the text on the link clicked. Using Jquery.1.4.2.min.js, Jquery.cookie.1.0.js I am trying to create a cookie when a link is clicked (will always link to "page.html"). name of instrument value of the TEXT So far I am trying to use: Link1: <a href="page.html">link1</a> Link2: <a href="page.html">link2</a> Script: $('a[href=page.html]').click(function() { var name = 'instrument'; var value = $(this).text(); $.cookie(name, value, { expires: 365 }); }); When I click the link it just loads the link and no cookie is set. Debugging with firebug, firecookie, firequery. No cookie for instrument or anything along the lines is found. Onload I'll hit the "<a href="page.html">projects</a>" but not the "$.cookie(name, value, { expires: 365 });" at all.

  • How can I *prevent* Apache2 from setting the Content-Type header?

    I have a CGI script that prints the following on stdout: print "Status: 302 Redirect\n"; print "Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1\n"; print "Location: $redirect\n"; print "Content-Length: 0\n"; print "Date: $date\n\n"; Where $redirect and $date are reasonable values. What Apache2 actually sends also includes a Content-Type: header (text/plain). I've commented out the DefaultType in the server configuration file. I'm trying to debug a downstream problem that arises when no Content-Type: header is sent. So what magic incantation do I have to perform to prevent Apache2 from adding the content type header?

  • Javascript error in Setting focus to a textbox inside a lightbox(Overlay) window.

    Hi All, I have a textbox, a button and a "AdvancedSearch" link on my aspx page. On page load, the focus is set to the textbox. On click of the "AdvancedSearch" link, a lightbox(overlay) window will be opened. I want to set focus to a textbox present within this lightbox window. I am using javascript to achieve this. The code looks somewhat like this: if( element.type != "hidden" && element.style.display != "none" && !element.disabled ) { element.focus(); return; } when the lightbox window loads, i get a javascript error - "Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus" Any idea why this error is thrown and why it is not able to set focus to the textbox in the lightbox window?     I'd like to understand a little more clearly how css margins work with divs and child content. If I try this... <div style="clear: both; margin-top: 2em;"> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> </div> ...the Save button is right up against the User Role (margin fail): If I change it to this... <div style="clear: both;"> <input style="margin-top: 2em;" type="submit" value="Save" /> </div> ...there is a gap between the Save button and the User Role (margin win): Questions: Can someone explain what I'm observing? Why doesn't putting a margin on the div cause the input to move down? Why must I put the margin on the input itself? There must be some fundamental law of css I am not grasping.

  • Setup for games animation: How do I know JFrame is finished setting itself up?

    I'm using javax.swing.JFrame to draw game animations using double buffer strategy. First, I set up the frame. JFrame frame = new JFrame(); frame.setVisible(true); Now, I draw an object (let it be a circle, doesn't matter) like this. frame.createBufferStrategy(2); bufferStrategy = frame.getBufferStrategy(); Graphics g = bufferStrategy.getDrawGraphics(); circle.draw(g); bufferStrategy.show(); The problem is that the frame is not always fully set-up when the drawing takes place. Seems like JFrame needs up to three steps in resizing itself, until it reaches it's final size. That makes the drawing slide out of frame or hinders it to appear completely from time to time. I already managed to delay things using SwingUtilities.invokeLater(). While this improved the result, there are still times when the drawing slides away / looks prematurely draw. Any idea / strategy? Thanks in advance. EDIT: Ok thanks so far. I didn't mention that I write a little Pong game in the first place. Sorry for the confusion What I actually looked for was the right setup for accelerated game animations done in Java. While reading through the suggestions I found my question answered (though indirectly) here and this example made things clear for me. A resume for this might be that for animating game graphics in Java, the first step is to get rid of the GUI logic overhead.

Is there a way to make vim treat expanded tabs like "normal" tab so that list option works as expected?

  • Why does setting document.domain require me to set it in all popups and iframes too?

    I'm using a long-polling iframe solution for a chat script. Unfortunately, this requires me to set document.domain='yourdomain.com' in the iframe and main document, because the iframe is a subdomain call. The huge problem is...now all my other scripts that use popups and iframes are broken. They now require me to put document.domain in them too. It does fix it, but this is not an ideal solution at all. Is there another way around this problem?

  • PHP is truncating MSSQL Blob data (4096b), even after setting INI values. Am I missing one?

    I am writing a PHP script that goes through a table and extracts the varbinary(max) blob data from each record into an external file. The code is working perfectly, except when a file is over 4096b - the data is truncated at exactly 4096. I've modified the values for mssql.textlimit, mssql.textsize, and odbc.defaultlrl without any success.   • Setting an empty default value for a char-column in MySQL?

    Hi In phpMyAdmin I have a char(32) column that has no default value(ie. Default: None). When I try to insert data through a SQL query, it throws out an error saying that the column "doesn't have a default value". I need it to be empty, so instead I've just set it's default value as "As defined: " and then nothing in the value field. Is this a bad idea? And is it any better than simply throwing in an empty value for the column in the SQL query? Thanks for your time.

    I need to be able to change the size of my Silverlight object at run time because I have content that changes in size dramatically between pages, and I'd rather not show a Silverlight scroll bar inside the browser scroll bar. I was able to do the following to get it to work: In the aspx page hosting the silverlight control: - Set your Div to the starting size you need it to be - Set the Silverlight Obejct to width=”100%” height=”100%” In your Main page add this: public static void ChangeSize(string height) { var myDiv = HtmlPage.Plugin.Parent; while (myDiv.TagName != "div") myDiv = myDiv.Parent; myDiv.SetStyleAttribute("height", height); } Anywhere you want to now change the size of the page do this: string newHeight = (App.Current.Host.Content.ActualHeight + 75).ToString(); MainPage.ChangeSize(newHeight + "px"); //App.Current.Host.Content.ActualHeight will get the current actual height of the object Is there a way that I can set this to re-size automatically so that I do not have to specify the amount to change? Currently using SL 2, interested in if there is another way in a different version though.

I went to the microsoft website and I didn't quite pick up on anything i was looking for. . Also while I have your attention, how would I make it so the user chooses from either option and because I don't know which option the user will select " double MenuOption = " could be anything, whatever the user inputs right? so would what I have even work? I am doing this all by hand, and don't get much lab time to work on this as I have tons of other courses to work on and then a boring job to go to, and my PC at home has a restarting issue lol. soo any and all help is greatly appreciated. p.s the computer I'm on right now posting this, doesn't have any compilers, coding programs, and it's not mine just to get that out of the way.   • SqlCE Flush Interval - Will the default setting lead to corruption?

    SqlCE has a parameter set on the Connect String called Flush Interval. It is defined as: The interval time (in seconds) before all committed transactions are flushed to disk. If not specified, the default value is 10. I thought that a committed transaction, by definition, is a transaction that has been flushed to disk, specifically the database file. If a transaction is only stored in RAM then cannot the transaction be easily lost? I thought that transactions were first written to a log file and then applied to the database file itself, so perhaps this parameter could mean the time to wait until the transaction log is applied to the database file? I would have thought that this parameter should be 0.

    I'm trying to convert the following MATLAB code to Python and am having trouble finding a solution that works in any reasonable amount of time. M = diag(sum(a)) - a; where = vertcat(in, out); M(where,:) = 0; M(where,where) = 1; Here, a is a sparse matrix and where is a vector (as are in/out). The solution I have using Python is: M = scipy.sparse.diags([degs], [0]) - A where = numpy.hstack((inVs, outVs)).astype(int) M = scipy.sparse.lil_matrix(M) M[where, :] = 0 # This is the slowest line M[where, where] = 1 M = scipy.sparse.csc_matrix(M) But since A is 334863x334863, this takes like three minutes. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this faster, please contribute them! For comparison, MATLAB does this same step imperceptibly fast. Thanks!
