  • What does "Computing additional info" mean?

    Eclipse Helios periodically starts running a job which displays "Computing additional info". During this time, Eclipse is very sluggish, bordering on unusable. What does this job do? Can I shut it off? I just hope that someone in the JDT team comes to sense and gets rid of it, make it go faster, or at the very least change it to something meaningful.

  • Unable to download trace file

    Whenever I switch to DDMS view and start method profiling, I get the following error message when I stop profiling: Method Profiling Error: Unable to download trace file: Remote object doesn't exist! This only happens with 1.6 and 2.1 AVDs, 2.2 and 2.3 work fine. I've been having this problem ever since the latest update to the Eclipse Android plugin. I'm using Eclipse 3.5.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 with Android Development Toolkit version 8.0.0.v201011171904-77661. Let me know if you need any more information.

    I have an issue creating a new android project using the eclipse wizard, everything worked fine by yesterday. had a few project working. Now, when i press "Finish" on the final step of the wizard it remain open and an empty project with white-marked packages is added to the work branch, I tried to reinstall eclipse and it's sdk+plug, still nothing. There is an stop button on the progress view and I want to create some kind of listener to handle the events of the chancel button, but I don't know how I can do it.     Is there a difference between a package and a folder in eclipse? for example, if I have this hierarchy requirement: java –classpath C:\ChatCompany\BackendChatServer\ -Djava.security.policy=c:\HW2\permissions.policy hw2.chat.backend.main.ChatBackendServer when the package's name is: "hw2.chat.backend.main" and "ChatCompany\BackendChatServer\" is the folder name, then how can I make this separation between a package and a folder in eclipse, so that I can write "package hw2.chat.backend.main" and not "package ChatCompany.BackendChatServer.hw2.chat.backend.main"? thanks

I would like to move a CheckBox, so it displays in a different location than the top-left corner under Absolute Layout inside main.xml, for 'Android'. I'm using Eclipse to edit my views.     I am new to maven and hit a problem that looks easy in the first place but I already kept me busy for a whole day about and no way to get it working. It looks like by default the build-helper-maven-plugin will check if the folder is there and if it is not it won’t add it. I am using maven 3.0.4 outside eclipse to run the build and I can see in the maven logs something like this: [INFO] Source directory: <some path>\properties added. This is my project structure: project1 \-- properties (this is the real folder) project2 \-- some_real_folder \-- properties (this is the link resource pointing to the project1/properties folder) All I need is to have both "some_real_folder" and the linked resource "properties" added to the .classpath of the project2

    I have created a project using the following maven webapp project in eclipse: When adding a package to the project (right click project - new - package), the package gets added as a folder (I added a package named core). It does not have the usual package icon: If I try to create a new class and select a package, there are no entries in the list box. I have tried creating packages in a normal eclipse dynamic web project and these work correctly. How do I get packages in Maven enabled webapp projects?

  • In GWT 2.1.0.M2 the options "-style pretty" couldn't be recognized

    I am using GWT eclipse plugin and try to add option "-style pretty" inside arguments tab of debug configuration window in eclipse. But after click debug it just prompts "Unknown argument: -style". I used to use webcreator to create gwt app. this is my first time to use plugin and i am not sure i put it into the right place or gwt 2.1.0.M2 just doesn't support this option (which is wired).   • Configuring php with apache

    I managed to thoroughly confuse myself with php configuration in my apache install (on a mac). I am trying to get xdebug to work in eclipse and noticed that there are two different installs of php on my machine. The one (v5.4.5) in the apache install directory /opt/local/apache2/ and another one (v5.3) in the default system directory /usr/bin. My questions are: The php in the apache install directory was installed by me from source. But it does not have a php.ini file, instead it has PEAR.conf and other bunch of conf files. What are they and did I install something wrong? Can I compile apache with php support and have it use the php from the system directory right? How do I know which php its using? httpd -M is the only command i can see. Can I force apache to use a different php?
