  Hi, I already know how to get my Activity as fullscreen on Android, now I need to draw a Image in this screen.   Trying to connect to 4D Database. PHPINFO says PDO is installed etc etc... Testing on localhost MAMP system. • Convert byte array to understandable String

  I have a program that handles byte arrays in Java, and now I would like to write this into a XML file. However, I am unsure as to how I can convert the following byte array into a sensible String to write to a file. Assuming that it was Unicode characters I attempted the following code: String temp = new String(encodedBytes, "UTF-8"); Only to have the debugger show that the encodedBytes contain "\ufffd\ufffd ^\ufffd\ufffd-m\ufffd\ufffd\/ufffd \ufffd\ufffdIA\ufffd\ufffd". The String should contain a hash in alphanumerical format. How would I turn the above String into a sensible String for output?

  I am using nothing but raw Socket IO. There isn't one HttpURLConnection nor any http client libs in my project.   I have the following code, which uses a Unicode string class from a library that I'm writing: #include <cstdio> #include "ucpp" main() { ustring a = "test"; ustring b = "ing"; ustring c = "- -"; ustring d; d = "cafe\xcc\x81"; printf("%s\n", (a + b + c[1] + d).encode()); } The encode method of the ustring class instances converts the internal Unicode into a UTF-8 char *. However, because I don't have access to the char class definition, I am unsure on how I can define an implicit typecast (so that I don't have to manually call encode when using with printf, etc).

• Track unicode words from Twitter using Ruby and the Tweetstream API

  I am trying to track a set of keywords from Twitter by using the Streaming API (can't post the link here because of spam limitations: google twitter streaming API). I am doing this inside Ruby, using the TweetStream gem: http://bit.ly/cODAWI The problem I have is that I want to track keywords that contain some unicode/UTF-8 characters. For instance: require 'rubygems' require 'tweetstream' TweetStream::Client.new("my_user_name", "my_password").track("é") do |s| puts s.text end (you can try it out, provided you installed the tweetstream and json gems) This piece of code does not print anything, while replacing "é" with "e" outputs a bunch of tweets continuously. • 2-byte (UCS-2) wide strings under GCC

  Hi all, when porting my Visual C++ project to GCC, I found out that the wchar_t datatype is 4-byte UTF-32 by default. I could override that with a compiler option, but then the whole wcs* (wcslen, wcscmp, etc.) part of RTL is rendered unusable, since it assumes 4-byte wide strings. For now, I've reimplemented 5-6 of these functions from scratch and #defined my implementations in. But is there a more elegant option - say, a build of GCC RTL with 2-byte wchar-t quietly sitting somewhere, waiting to be linked? The specific flavors of GCC I'm after are Xcode on Mac OS X, Cygwin, and the one that comes with Debian Linux Etch.

Am I missing something?

• How to implement navigation drawer selector similar to Google Play Music

  I am looking to implement a navigation drawer selector which shows the currently selected item at all times when the drawer is opened and that is retained even when the drawer is closed. Something like this: I have used something like this but it only shows the selector when I click on the list item.   I'm watching CXF service traffic using DonsProxy, and the CXF client sends an HTTP header "SoapCompressed": HttpHeadSubscriber starting... Sender is CLIENT at 127.0.0.1:2680 Packet ID:0-1 POST /yada/yada HTTP/1.1 Content-Type: text/xml; charset=UTF-8 SoapCompressed: true Accept-Encoding: gzip,gzip;q=1.0, identity; q=0.5, *;q=0 SOAPAction: "" Accept: */* User-Agent: Apache CXF 2.2 Cache-Control: no-cache Pragma: no-cache Host: localhost:9090 Connection: keep-alive Transfer-Encoding: chunked I'd like to turn SoapCompressed off in my dev environment so that I can see the SOAP on the wire. I've searched Google and grepped the CXF source code, but don't see anything in the docs or code that reference this. Any idea how to make the client send "SoapCompressed: off" instead, without routing it through Apache HTTPD or the like? Is there a way to configure it at the CXF client, in other words?
