Versioning SharePoint binary Workflow ASPX task forms

Hello. As noted by some developers, workflow versioning is somekind of headache in SharePoint. I`m wondering is there a way I can version my aspx forms? For sure, i can version code behind assemblies, but if markup changes for any of my files in LAYOUTS folder? Is there versioning available for files or do i have to choose new filename for my form? Sorry, i should have been more specific. Yes, i have files under version control (i can restore previous versions etc), but i`m not talking about this kind of version control. But by deploying new Workflow Version, i must not delete old one, because it is still running on many items in SharePoint, but rather , as noted in previous links, deploy new one so i don't break execution of workflows. But workflows will still break if i don't preserve old aspx forms used by users to interact with workflows. So i must ensure that Assemblies with old version numbers used by old workflow exists (this one is ok, i just changed assembly version number and deployed to GAC) I must ensure that old workflow still uses old aspx form used users to interact with workflow, but new workflow version should use new aspx form with more options (how to do this?).

How to start a marquee with JavaScript based on user input?

Hello everybody. I am trying to use JavaScript to start a marquee when a user puts their name into a textbox and then clicks a button. I've got an idea as to how to do it, but my script never fully works. Any help is appreciated! Localization approach for XSLT + RESX in ASP.NET

I have an ASP.NET web app where the back end data (XML format) is transformed using XSLT, producing XHTML which is output into the page. Simplified code: XmlDocument xmlDoc = MyRepository.RetrieveXmlData(keyValue); XslCompiledTransform xsl = new XslCompiledTransform(); xsl.Load(pathToXsl, XsltSettings.TrustedXslt, null); StringWriter stringWriter = new StringWriter(); xsl.Transform(xmlDoc, null, stringWriter); myLiteral.Text = stringWriter.ToString(); Currently my XSL file contains the XHTML markup elements, as well as text labels, which are currently in English. for example: <p>Title:<br /> <xsl:value-of select="title"/> </p> <p>Description:<br /> <xsl:value-of select="desc"/> </p> I would like the text labels (Title and Description above) to be localized. I was thinking of using .NET resource files (.resx), but I don't know how the resx string resources would get pulled in to the XSLT when the transformation takes place. I would prefer not to have locale-specific copies of the XSLT file, since that means a lot of duplicate transformation logic. (NOTE: the XML data is already localized, so I don't need to change that)

Although I have seen dozens of forum questions relating to "Could not load type", none of the advice in them seemed to apply to my situation. I wrote a new web application using aspx.net VB 2005. It is tiny, with just 2 pages, 1 of which has no code-behind. It runs aok in the IDE but when I installed it on my pc (and also when installed on the production server), and tried to run it this error came up: Parser Error Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. How best to embed multiple Flash Player instances using swfobject via a usercontrol?

I have a ListView on a Page within a MasterPage and some very ugly ugly autogenerated IDs. Such as..."ctl00_workbenchPlaceHolder_ListView1_ctrl1_LibItem2One" Using swfobject.embedSWF(...) requires me to hand over the id of a div on my page that can be replaced with object/embed markup depending on the browser context. My aim is to show the user a collection of video's they have uploaded to their website so they can review them and change some related data if desired. Hence the ListView which is populated via a SQLDataSource which currently provides a number of URLs pointing to .flv files. But it ain't gonna work if I put a <div id="replaceme"></div>' in my user control because I may then have more than one id="replaceme" and poor swfobject won't like it. So my evil solution is to put an <asp:Literal> in my usercontrol and build the script, function name and div tag id as a string. AsyncPostBackTrigger disables buttons...

I've a simple UpdatePanel and a button outside of it. I've introduced the button as an AsyncPostBackTrigger in the UpdatePanel. UpdatePanel itself works fine but the button does not. Whenever the button is clicked, its click handler does not run just like the button is not clicked at all! Why the button is not working and how can it be fixed? Lorem ipsum ... </p> I'd like to, without markup if possible, cause this text to flow into two columns (1-3 on the left, 4-6 on the right). The reason for my hesitation to add a column using a <div> is that this text is entered by the client via a WYSIWYG editor, so any elements I inject are likely to be killed later on inexplicably. Hello, I have developed an application which allows the user to switch between themes. I'm doing this by including the xaml file as a resource in my project and using the following code: MainTheme.ThemeUri = new Uri("SilverlightApplication1;component/Themes/[ThemeName]/Theme.xaml", UriKind.Relative); This worked well, untill I found these themes: http://timheuer.com/blog/archive/2010/05/17/silverlight-4-tools-released-and-new-application-templates.aspx The difference is that these themes consist of multiple files. So I made a Theme.xaml file that only includes MergedDictionaries so I could still use the code above. This is the Theme.xaml file for the Cosmopolitan theme. <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="CoreStyles.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="SDKStyles.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="Styles.xaml"/> <ResourceDictionary Source="ToolkitStyles.xaml"/> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> However, when I run the c# code above I get the following exception: System.Windows.Markup.XamlParseException: Failed to assign to property 'System.Windows.ResourceDictionary.Source'. Windows Sidebar gadget - cannont access a div in Flyout DOM

When peering into the System.Gadget.Flyout.document object through the debugger, the body parameter is null - I don't think that's right. The System.Gadget.Flyout.file value is being set elsewhere when the gadget first loads. What am I doing wrong? Also, does the System.Gadget.Flyout.show property have to be true before the System.Gadget.Flyout.document property can be accessed? My ultimate goal is to open a flyout and dynamically populate it's html

What is the correct date format for a Date column in YUI DataTable ?

I have produced a data table. All the columns are sortable. It has a date in one column which I formatted dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss . This is different from the default format as defined in the doco, but I should be able to define my own format for non-american formats. (See below) The DataTable class provides a set of built-in static functions to format certain well-known types of data. In your Column definition, if you set a Column's formatter to YAHOO.widget.DataTable.formatDate, that function will render data of type Date with the default syntax of "MM/DD/YYYY". If you would like to bypass a built-in formatter in favor of your own, you can point a Column's formatter to a custom function that you define. The table is generated from HTML Markup, so the data is held within "" tags. This gives me some more clues about compatible string dates for javascript: In general, the RecordSet expects to hold data in native JavaScript types. For instance, a date is expected to be a JavaScript Date instance, not a string like "4/26/2005" in order to sort properly. Converting data types as data comes into your RecordSet is enabled through the parser property in the fields array of your DataSource's responseSchema I suspect that the I'm missing something in the date format. So what is an acceptable string date for javascript, that Yui dataTable will recognise, given that I want format it as "dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss" ?

Hi, I wonder if someone can help shed some light on this: I drop a cookie if a user arrives to the site with a specific key/value in query string. i.e.: http://www.somesite.com?key=hmm01 The cookie code exists at top of the template before <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML ) : <?php header("Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8"); ob_start(); if (isset($_GET['key'])) { setcookie("cookname", $_GET['key'], time()+2592000); /* Expires in a month */ } ob_end_flush(); ?> On the same page though within the : I have the following php code that sniffs the cookie and outputs some text: ` switch ($cookievalue) { case hmm01: echo "abc"; break; case hmm02: echo "def"; break; case hmm03: echo "ghi"; break; default: echo "hello"; } ?` -- Problem is when the user first arrives the sniffer script doesn't detect the cookie and outputs the default text: hello Only when user refreshes page or navigates to a different page does the sniffer detect the cookie. Any ideas on how to drop the cookie and output the correct text without a page refresh? Many thanks.

Why am I losing the fucntionality of the original base class at this level? Is it incorrect to add the element (button1) to the maskcontainer inside of the main.xaml? My end goal is to create a container that is reusable, but inherits all properties/methods that I've specified throughout the chain. Any help is appreciated.

Three Checkboxes, One must be selected to enable submit button, needs Jquery?

I have between 1-three checkboxes and by default they are all disabled. In order for the submit button to be active ove checkbox minumum must be selected. Can someone help me with a jquery snippet to achieve this? My markup looks like this and the site used jquery 1.42. embedded php in html to include header (top part of page) into the page

Hi there, I'm trying to put the top of my page (which is all html) in a seperate file so I only need to change things once like the menu bar etc. So I googled some and found a solution on this website as well, but it doesn't work and I don't know why. So I have a page like article.html and on the top I have this: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html lang="en"> <head> <?php include("/pages/header.php"); ?>  In the header.php I have the html that should be on the top of each page and it starts with: <?php /** * @author name * website header */ ?>  So what's wrong with this. When I open the page article.html and right click on it to view the source, I can see the php from above calling the header.php file. Thanks!

Frameset isn't working in IE

First of all, why use a frame set in the first place you ask? answer: Because my boss told me. That been said, I have 2 files. Index.html and Head.html. Is there anything I am doing wrong, and if not then can the same effect be achieved without frames and if so how?

In Firefox 2, usage of overflow:hidden makes other divs overlap current div

Hi, When I use overflow:hidden for div which is positioned absolute (for menu), other div overlaps. Here is the code. It works fine in FF3. Any help appreciated. Please note that html should be as it is. Also if you can provide solution, just by changing styles of menu div (the div which contains menu text) it is more helpful for me. Javascript working in chrome but not in explorer

Anyone has any idea how can I make it work in explorer (I tried allowing blocked content when that message about activeX appears in explorer)? Thanks, Greg
