• iphone poll application to sync with myspace or facebook poll.

  Hi, We are developing an iphone application, which requires us to add polling(survey) functionality in the app. We also have same poll in either MySpace or Facebook. We have to sync the polling data to our iphone application. How can we achieve this? We have found some third party polling service provider like Zoomerang, Poll Daddy polls, etc., but they don't have supporting API for iphone application or at least one we are not aware of. If anyone can shed light on this on how to proceed with this, it will be really very helpful. Thanks in advance. Zach.

  I want to create an application. This application has to do something when a user presses special keys on keyboard or/and uses scroll wheel. This application is a service. It has no windows. I want to catch any keyboard or mouse events which were designed with other applications. For example, you are watching TV by 3rd party application. If you press Ctrl + Shift and use scroll wheel my application changes the volume. I use Windows 7 x64 and Visual Studio 2008.

  Hi, I am a C# developer and fancy the idea of writing a C# app or two to integrate with the Facebook API. I read from this page: http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/User:C_Sharp that there's this Microsoft SDK for Facebook Platform that has binary assemblies that I can use to write my C# app. As a start, I want to try out the example mentioned on the above-mentioned page -- one that gets me a friend list. The problem is: I am completely new to this Facebook development thing and I see I am going to need, at the very least, an API Key and some Facebook service Secret key or some such, to begin writing some code. Do I also need a developer account? Where do I get all these things from?

  I use Axis for webservice service. when more than 8 concurrent , there are some request halt randomly for about 30 seconds. I debug by log in every line and found from my code: public class foo{ void bar(){ a(); log.debug('exit from a'); } void a(){ log.debug('exit a'); } the time between "exit a" and "exit from a" are delay about 30 second. This is no reason. • CD/DVD drive not mounted when inserted with Disc of any kind

  I just noticed that if a insert a CD or a DVD of any kind, the Drive will start spinning but it will not show the mounted disc. Before it used to ask me what to do with the media inserted. Now it doesn't even do that. I ran in the terminal this code: eject -n and it displays this: " eject: device is `/dev/sr0'" what can I do to get the functionality back on my drive. also ran this command: sudo mount -o ro,unhide,uid=1000 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom but in return i get this: " mount: mount point /mnt/cdrom does not exist" Running Ubuntu 11.10 HERE IS THE HISTORY UNTIL NOW thanks Waltinator: I ran the 'dmesg' but don't know what I'm looking for. Im a newbie on this. The same thing with the 'ls -rlt /var/log' command. • How to clean sys.conversation_endpoints

  I have a table, a trigger on the table implemented using service broker. More than Half million records are inserted daily into the table. The asynchronous SP is used to check sveral condition by using inserted data and update other tables. It was running fine for last 1 month and the SP was get executed withing 2-3 seconds of insertion of record. But now it take more than 90 minute. At present sys.conversation_endpoints have too much records. (Note that all the table are truncated daily as I do not need those records day after) Other database activities are normal (average 60% CPU Utilization). Now where i need to look?? I can re-create database without any problem but i don't think it is a good way to resolve the problem

  Hi all, I'm currently implementing/configuring the LDAP authentication of a Java web application using Spring Security 3.0. I'm using Microsoft AD LDS as LDAP server and chose the Spring's BindAuthenticator. I found out that the authentication only works if the authenticated user is a member of the partition's Readers role. The BindAuthenticator tries to read the user's attributes after the authentication, which seems reasonable in scenarios where authorities are retrieved from the directory service. Being new to LDAP and AD, is this an acceptable practise when the application is integrated in an existing AD structure? Can fine-tune an give the user dns only read permissions for their own attributes rather than adding them to the Reader group? Thanks Thomas

People will be able to design flowcharts similar to how they do in Visio and they will be able to collaborate and work simultaneously on the the design. Now, I need to get an idea of the bandwidth such an application might consume. I am not sure how silverligt internally work so I need to get an idea whether such an application can be built in a way that make it economically feasible to sell such a product in a software as a service model.

  Can someone tell me if there is a webpage that lists the official Google limit on emails sent from a Google Apps Script? In testing my little script I got a Service invoked too many times: email (# 59) and now I can't send any more emails. The obvious place for this information would be in the MailApp.sendEmail documentation. But, that does not say anything about a limit. I found this discussion on the google forum from 2/11/10 where users discuss about a 100 or 500 emails/day limit, with a 24 hour ban, but no one from Google provided an official answer. Note that this is for google apps script, which is different from the google app engine, which does have well published limits.

  Hi, Is there a way or at least a workaround on masking default webmail urls or disabling access webmail urls so users will not be able to change their passwords? Website is PHP based and is using apache server under a shared hosting account. The thing is that http://domain.com/webmail will let users access the main panel where they can change their individual passwords. We do not need this. Most solutions point to changing httpd.conf which we are not allowed to change since this is on a shared hosting service. I'm looking for at least a workaround to this issue. How about disabling it through their browsers if my client is under a network server, this would be a decent workaround isn't it? or are there any more suggestions aside from this? Please help. This is my urgent issue. Thank you very much!

  I am using .NET and am creating a desktop app/service that will display notifications in the corner of my Desktop when certain events are triggered. I don't want to use a regular Message Box b/c that would be too intrusive. I want notifications to slide into view and then fade out after a few seconds. I am thinking of something that will act very much like the Outlook alerts that one gets when a new message arrives. The question is: Should I use WPF for this? I've never done anything with WPF but will happily try it if that's best means to the end. Is there a way to accomplish this with regular .NET libraries?

My web service generates some XML-data, then I want to format it with XSL-stylesheet, pass the result to JSP-page and show to user. I'm using JAXP for XSL-transformations and I want to create a javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource object with XSL-file stream for the javax.xml.transform.Transformer object, but I'm having a difficulty with specifying the path/URL for the XSL-file. So the question is: where should I put my XSL-stylesheets in a project and how should I access them from code? I'm using Glassfish v3 and NetBeans 6.8. Thanks.

  We are trying to design 6 web services, which will serve another client component. The client component requires data from the web service we are implementing. Now, the problem is, there is not 1 WS we are implementing, there is one WS which the client component hits, this initiates a series (5 more) of WSs which gather data from their respective data stores and finally provide the data back to the original WS, which then delivers the data back to the client component. So, if the requested data becomes huge, then, this will be a serious problem for our internal communication channel. So, what do you guys suggest? What can be done to avoid overloading of the communication channel between the internal WS and at the same time, also delivering the data to the client component.

As far as I can tell, this package is actually connecting to the devnev.exe.config configuration file (if I use AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetupInformation.ConfigurationFile), it will retrieve the path to the devnev.exe.config Firstly, is this correct? Shouldn't the package automatically pick up the app.config file? If this is the case, then how can I make the project use the app.config file? I'm running VS2010 Ultimate, programming in C#. Thanks!

  I have a service that accepts Xmla queries for Analysis services, often times those queries themselves will have a string that contains a fragment that looks something like {{[Time].[Year].[All]}} Recording these requests works fine but when I try to re-run the test I get an error from the test runner... Request failed: Exception occurred: There is no context parameter with the name ' [Time].[Year].[All]' in the WebTestContext This was confusing for some time but when I asked VS to generate a coded version of the test I was able to see the problem a bit better. • SOA design principles with regards to database relationships

  If I were to extricate my current membership provider from my solution, i.e. as a dll and expose it as a web service with it's own db, how would I model the relationships with regards to SOA design. For example I have a table: USER id, name, lastname, username, password, role. and table PRODUCT id, name, price, createdate, userid the foreign key being userid to table user. How would I model the relationship and/or query the db. If I wanted to get all products that were uploaded today for example, before I would query: SELECT u.name, u.lastname, u.username, p.* FROM PRODUCT p INNER JOIN USER u ON p.userid = u.id WHERE createdate = '05/05/2010' Now that I don't have the table within the database how would I perform this query? • How entity edit URL from within plug-in in MS Dyanmics CRM 4.0

  I would like to have a workflow create a task, then email the assigned user that they have a new task and include a link to the newly created task in the body of the email. I have client side code that will correctly create the edit URL, using the entities GUID and stores it in a custom attribute. However, when the task is created from within a workflow, the client script isn't run. So, I think a plug-in should work, but I can't figure out how to determine the URL of the CRM installation. I'm authoring this in a test environment and definitely don't want to have to change things when I move to production. I'm sure I could use a config file, but seems like the plug-in should be able to figure this out at runtime. Anyone have any ideas how to access the URL of the crm service from within a plug-in? Any other ideas? Thanks!

  Hi, I'm writing an application that lets the end use design a Form just the way Visual Studio lets you design a windows forms. I looked into visual studio forms designer articles in msdn and also studied open-source SharpDevelop editor. Both the examples host visual studio's windows forms designer to provide form-design service in their respective applications. My question is - Does it imply any licensing issue with Microsoft for directly hosting their Visual Studio Forms designer in my own application ? I don't want move ahead without proper and correct information. Can anybody here help me out if there's any licensing issues in case I want to host visual studio windows fomr designer in my own application. If there's any such licensing implication - then how does Sharp-Develop do this ?
