  • Secure Streaming CDN Video Content

    Hi, I am using Amazon CloudFront to stream paid video content to my users and I am having problems getting the videos secured. Wowza does that by creating a secure token, but the use of wowza would be much more costly. Is there anyway that I can better protect my content by using Cloudfront or other CDN? Thanks!

    A couple years ago I found a great site called something like 'programming-books.com' (but not exactly that). It let users submit links to their favorite books for various programming languages, and write a short blurb about why they're so good. You could include their Amazon page and the website would grab a cover picture. I've since lost that bookmark and am trying to find it again, anyone know what site I'm talking about?     I know C and C++ and I have some experience with Java, but I don't know too much about Algorithms and Data Structures. I did a search on Amazon, but I don't know what book should I choose. I don't want a book which put its basis only on the theoretic part; I want the practical part too (probably more than the theoretical one :) ).     I'm using sqlite for the persistent store, so could I just upload the .sqlite file to, for example, Amazon S3 as a way of providing users with the ability to backup their app data? Then for restoring just download it back and replace the existing .sqlite file in the app's folder. Does anybody see any issues with that? Has anyone done it? Any other suggestions on how to implement data backup feature?

    I am considering building several C#/.NET4 applications all using a central, cloud based database. In addition, several LAMP (MySQL) web shops will be accessing the cloud DB. MySQL is the database that I'm most familiar with, and my default selection for the cloud DB would be MySQL on Amazon or Joyent. However, I was wondering what development "extras" are available for SQLServer in VisualStudio 2010 that are not available for MySQL. Are there any "killer features" that should make me consider SQLServer instead of MySQL?
