• Getting users latest tweet with Django

  I want to create a function which grabs every users latest tweet from a specific group. So, if a user is in the 'authors' group, I want to grab their latest tweet and then finally cache the result for the day so we only do the crazy leg work once. def latest_tweets(self): g = Group.objects.get(name='author') users = [] for u in g.user_set.all(): acc = u.get_profile().twitter_account users.append('http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/'+acc+'.rss') return users Is where I am at so far, but I'm at a complete loose end as to how I parse the RSS to get there latest tweet. Can anyone help me out here? If there is a better way to do this, any suggestions are welcome! It works fine when using Firefox, heres an example: guest@shell:/$ sudo make me sandwich sudo command not recognized. guest@shell:/$ clear *clears* guest@shell:/$ clear But under google chrome this happen: guest@shell:/$ sudo make me sandwich sudo command not recognized. guest@shell:/$ clear clear command not recognized. I believe that it has something to do with "commands.hasOwnProperty(command)" that is preventing it from working properly. I am using JQuery the javascript library to build the website, and I need to know how to solve this problem, or an alternative.

  I'm trying to append an onload event to a popup window in the following manner: var explorerWindow = window.open(PARAMS...); explorerWindow.onload = function() {window.opener.unlockObj(id);} The idea is to make the button that generates the popup window readonly, making it usable again once the popup window has loaded all of its contents. However, the event doesn't seem to be firing at all. I even changed it to the following and got nothing: explorerWindow.onload = function() {alert("bloop");} Is there something terribly wrong with my syntax or am I missing something else entirely? Also, I'm using JQuery if there are any appropriate gems there that will help in this situation. I tried the following with similar results, but I'm not so sure I got the call right: $(explorerWindow).load(function() {alert("bloop");}); Any help is greatly appreciated.

• Ruby string encoding problem

  I've looked at the other ruby/encoding related posts but haven't been able to figure out why the following is not working. Likely just because I'm dense, but here's the situation. Using Ruby 1.9 on windows. I have a set of CSV files that need some data appended to the end of each line. Whenever I run my script, the appended characters are gibberish. The input text appears to be IBM437 encoding, whereas my string I'm appending starts as US-ASCII. Nothing I've tried with respect to forcing encoding on the input strings or the append string seems to change the resultant output. I'm stumped. • Possible to bind an event listener to a (hypothetical) onChangeInnerHTML event?

  In my app, I have an OL tag whose contents are changed by various other dynamic events. Is there some way to put a listener on that OL so that I can execute a function whenever its contents are altered in any way? In this example I need to update a count of items in the list which appears in another spot in the interface. I am using jQuery if that helps. The contents of the OL are being changed with OL.append() and LI.remove(), in case those methods have some special events that I don't know about Thanks!

• Add HttpOnly flag to cookies on the fly with Apache?

  So I have a java webapp that uses tomcat with an apache proxy layer. I'm looking to make all cookies set from the app have the httpOnly flag. The problem with this is that tomcat is responsible for setting the flag from the application side and its default (in servlet api 2.5) is false. I was hoping I could set this flag for all cookies on the fly using apache. I've been trying different combinations and the closest I have gotten is setting the last cookie passed to httpOnly which is of course wrong: Header append Set-Cookie "; HttpOnly" I have no way of knowing what cookies/values are going to be passed from the app. Is this even possible?

• Most efficient way to fetch and output Content with 2-Level Comments?

  I have some content with up to 2-levels of replies. I am wondering what the most efficient way to fetch and output the replies. I should note that I am planning on storing the comments with fields content_id and reply_to, where reply_to refers to which comment it is in reply to (if any). Any criticism on this design is welcome. In pseudo-code (ish), my first attempt would be: # in outputting content CONTENT_ID all_comments = fetch all comments where content_id == CONTENT_ID root_comments = filter all_comments with reply_to == None children_comments = filter all_comments with reply_to != None output_comments = list() for each root_comment children = filter children_comments, reply_to == root_comment.id output_coments.append( (root_comment, children) ) send output_comments to template Is this the best way to do this? Thanks in advance. Edit: On second thought, I'll want to preserve date-order on the comments, so I'll have to do this a bit differently, or at least just sort the comments afterward.

  I am writing a .NET 2.0 based desktop client that will send large files ( well largish under 2GB) to a server. Need to develop the server as well. Server can be on any technology It should be secure so an underlying SSL stream is needed What are my options. Any obvious caveats etc I should be aware of To my mind the simplest solution is to open a tcp\ip connection over SSL to the server and send n packets each of size M bytes and then have the server append the chunks to the file and finally send an EOF packet as well IS this horrible. Will the perf suck on the server with all these disk writes What are any other clever options. I am limited to .NET 2.0 on the client if I did move to a WCF client will it buy be something magical and cool for this scenario Thanks

A vehicle is shipped if it's part of a shipment that's completed. A shipment is completed if it has an accepted bid. I'd prefer not to iterate over the querysets thereby forcing a hit to the DB before its necessary... isn't there a way to get all the associated shipments from a list of bids, for example?

  I'm developing a website, but I realized that, in addition to the link to my main javascript file, and the link to the jquery file, it's beginning to look like I'm going to have links to three or more plugins also. I'm just wondering if this is good practice? The site I'm building is a web app, so I need a lot of functionality, but I don't want to be a plugin glutton. Is it considered good to append all the javascript plugins together into one file so as to only have to download one file, or will I run into problems?

  So I am new to learning decorators and I have gone through countless tutorials and while I understand and can mostly follow all of the examples, I think the best way to learn, would be to implement a decorator myself. So I am going to use this example below. I realize a decorator is not at all necessary to do this, but for the sake of learning, I would like to add a decorator that filters the strings like dog name and breed and turns them into lowercase.   Here is a long string that I convert to a list so I can manipulate it, and then join it back together. I am having some trouble being able to have an iterator go through the list and when the iterator reach, let us say every 5th object, it should insert a '\n' right there. • Help! Obj-C/Iphone programming: extracting string from html text and reading off line by line

  hihi, I have this html text response from a particular website: <tr><td valign="top"><img src="/icons/image2.gif" alt="[IMG]"></td><td><a href="crsdsdfs2221.jpg">crash-2221.jpg</a></td><td align="right">14-Jun-2010 14:29 Notice for every line, there is this href=".__", which is an image file with random name and random format. I would like to extract that string within the inverted commas out so that i can append it into a URL path and download the image. I've been looking through this documentation from apple: http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/cocoa/conceptual/strings/Articles/SearchingStrings.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/20000149-CJBBGBAI on String programming but couldn't find one that fits my bill. Also after reading it, what code can I use to ensure that I will be reading the next line the next time my function is called( because I want to download the next picture). Hope some kind soul can help me out, thanks!
