    Hi, I'm using a RichTextBox class to make some automatic text formatting. And mz question is, how do I get the RichTextBox to put some string immediately after the caret. When I use RichTextBox.CaretPosition.InsertTextInRun("some string") the text is inserted after the current logical block, but I need to be insterted immediately after the caret, in the middle of a Run block. I hope it's clear, thx very much.

Does jquery have a similar function built-in? If not, how should I go about implementing the desired functionality?

    I have just recently started working with Laravel. Great framework so far! However I have a question. I am using a layout template like this: public $layout = 'layouts.private'; This is set in my Base_Controller: public function __construct(){ //Styles Asset::add('reset', 'css/reset.css'); Asset::add('main', 'css/main.css'); //Scripts Asset::add('jQuery', 'http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.1/jquery.min.js'); //Switch layout template according to the users auth credentials. if (Auth::check()) { $this -> layout = 'layouts.private'; } else { $this -> layout = 'layouts.public'; } parent::__construct(); } However I get an error exception now when I try to access functions in my diffrent controllers, which should not call any view, i.e. when a user is going to login: class Login_Controller extends Base_Controller { public $restful = true; public function post_index() { $user = new User(); $credentials = array('username' => Input::get('email'), 'password' => Input::get('password')); if (Auth::attempt($credentials)) { } else { } } } The error I get, is that I do not set the content of the different variables in my public $layout. But since no view is needed in this function, how do I tell Laravel not to include the layout in this function? The best solution that I my self have come a cross (don't know if this is a bad way?) is to unset($this -> layout); from function post_index()... To sum up my question: how do I tell Laravel not to include public $layout in certain functions, where a view is not needed? Thanks in advance, fischer

    I came into matrix world from loop world(C, etc) I would like to call a function on each individual member of a vector/matrix, and return the resulting vector/matrix. This is how I currently do it: function retval = gauss(v, a, b, c) for i = 1:length(v) retval(i) = a*(e^(-(v(i)-b)*(v(i)-b)/(2*c*c))); endfor endfunction Example usage: octave:47> d=[1:1000]; octave:48> mycurve=gauss(d, 1, 500, 100); Now, all advice on Matlab/Octave says: STOP whenever you catch yourself using loops and think of a better way of doing it. Thus, my question: Can one call a function on each member of a vector/matrix and return the result in a new vector/matrix all at once without using explicit loops? That is I am looking for something like this: function retval = newfun(v) retval = 42*(v^23); endfunction Perhaps, it is just syntactic sugar, that is all, but still would be useful to know.

  • How to make dynamically generated .net service client read configuration from another location than

    Hi, I've currently written code to use the ServiceContractGenerator to generate web service client code based on a wsdl, and then compile it into an assembly in memory using the code dom. I'm then using reflection to set up the binding, endpoint, service values/types, and then ultimately invoke the web service method based on xml configuration that can be altered at run time. This all currently works fine. However, the problem I'm currently running into, is that I'm hitting several exotic web services that require lots of custom binding/security settings. This is forcing me to add more and more configuration into my custom xml configurations, as well as the corresponding updates to my code to interpret and set those binding/security settings in code. Ultimately, this makes adding these 'exotic' services slower, and I can see myself eventually reimplementing the 'system.serviceModel' section of the web or app.config file, which is never a good thing. My question is, and this is where my lack of experience .net and C# shows, is there a way to define the configuration normally found in the web.config or app.config 'system.serviceModel' section somewhere else, and at run time supply this to configuration to the web service client? Is there a way to attach an app.config directly to an assembly as a resource or any other way to supply this configuration to the client? Basically, I'd like attach an app.config only containing a 'system.serviceModel' to the assembly containing a web service client so that it can use its configuration. This way I wouldn't need to handle every configuration under the sun, I could let .net do it for me. Fyi, it's not an option for me to put the configuration for every service in the app.config for the running application. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Bryan

  • Type error while trying to implement the (>>=) function in order to create a custom monad transforme

    Hello, I'm trying to create a monad transformer for a future project, but unfortunately, my implementation of the Monad typeclasse's (=) function doesn't work. First of all, here is the underlying monad's implementation : newtype Runtime a = R { unR :: State EInfo a } deriving (Monad) Here, the implementation of the Monad typeclasse is done automatically by GHC (using the GeneralizedNewtypeDeriving language pragma). The monad transformer is defined as so : newtype RuntimeT m a = RuntimeT { runRuntimeT :: m (Runtime a) } The problem comes from the way I instanciate the (=) function of the Monad typeclasse : instance (Monad m) => Monad (RuntimeT m) where return a = RuntimeT $ (return . return) a x >>= f = runRuntimeT x >>= id >>= f The way I see it, the first >>= runs in the underlying m monad. Thus, runRuntimeT x >>= returns a value of type Runtime a (right ?). Then, the following code, id >>=, should return a value of type a. This value is the passed on to the function f of type f :: (Monad m) => a -> RuntimeT m b. And here comes the type problem : the f function's type doesn't match the type required by the (=) function. Jow can I make this coherent ? I can see why this doesn't work, but I can't manage to turn it into something functionnal.     I'm using an XML schema document to validate incoming data documents, however the schema appears be failing during compilation at run time because it refers to a complex type which part of an external schema. The external schema is specified in a element at the top of the document. I had thought it might be an access problem, so I moved a copy of the external document to a localhost folder. I get the same error, so now I'm wondering if there might be some sort of issue with the use of the element.   • Geolocation SQL query not finding exact location

    I have been testing my geolocation query for some time now and I haven't found any issues with it until now. I am trying to search for all cities within a given radius, often times I'm searching for cities surrounding a city using that city's coords, but recently I tried searching around a city and found that the city itself was not returned. I have these cities as an excerpt in my database: city latitude longitude Saint-Mathieu 45.316708 -73.516253 Saint-Édouard 45.233374 -73.516254 Saint-Michel 45.233374 -73.566256 Saint-Rémi 45.266708 -73.616257 But when I run my query around the city of Saint-Rémi, with the following query... SELECT tblcity.city, tblcity.latitude, tblcity.longitude, truncate((degrees(acos( sin(radians(tblcity.latitude)) * sin(radians(45.266708)) + cos(radians(tblcity.latitude)) * cos(radians(45.266708)) * cos(radians(tblcity.longitude - -73.616257) ) ) ) * 69.09*1.6),1) as distance FROM tblcity HAVING distance < 10 ORDER BY distance desc I get these results: city latitude longitude distance Saint-Mathieu 45.316708 -73.516253 9.5 Saint-Édouard 45.233374 -73.516254 8.6 Saint-Michel 45.233374 -73.566256 5.3 The town of Saint-Rémi is missing from the search. So I tried a modified query hoping to get a better result: SELECT tblcity.city, tblcity.latitude, tblcity.longitude, truncate(( 6371 * acos( cos( radians( 45.266708 ) ) * cos( radians( tblcity.latitude ) ) * cos( radians( tblcity.longitude ) - radians( -73.616257 ) ) + sin( radians( 45.266708 ) ) * sin( radians( tblcity.latitude ) ) ) ),1) AS distance FROM tblcity HAVING distance < 10 ORDER BY distance desc But I get the same result... However, if I modify Saint-Rémi's coords slighly by changing the last digit of the lat or long by 1, both queries will return Saint-Rémi. Also, if I center the query on any of the other cities above, the searched city is returned in the results. Can anyone shed some light on what may be causing my queries above to not display the searched city of Saint-Rémi? I have added a sample of the table (with extra fields removed) below. I'm using MySQL 5.0.45, thanks in advance.   • jQuery trigger mouseover function when page loads with the mouse over the element

    Hello all, I have an ASP.NET document, with an Image element within it. I created a mouseover function on this image element and it's working fine. The question is: If the mouse is ALREADY over the element when the document loads itself, the mouseover function doesn't trigger (I need to mouseout and then mouseover again in order to trigger it). Is there any way to check in the $(document).ready function if the mouse is already on top of this element? and if yes- trigger the mouseover function. Thanks all!

    myfunc() runs successfully when called from within the same js file. but it is undefined (Firebug) when called from an HTML page: JS file: $(function() { myfunc() { alert('inside myfunc'); } alert('outside myfunc'); myfunc(); //this successfully runs myfunc() }); HTML: <script> $(function() { myfunc(); //this doesn't run myfunc(). It's undefined }); </script> But when I change myfunc() declaration to: myfunc = function () { ... } It's no longer undefined, and runs successfully. Sorry for this very noob question, but what just happened? Why did it work when I changed the way I declared the function?

    hi havent found the solution yet in the forum. i want to call a function i created in the index.html via a objective-c function.
