  • Modal View Controller with keyboard on landscape iPad changes location when dismissed

    I present a modal view controller on my on my iPad with UIModalPresentationFormSheet presentation style and UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical transition style. The Modal View Controller contains a UIWebView with some TextFields on it. When the user taps one of the text fields the keyboard comes up. I have noticed that in landscape mode after the keyboard is shown, if I try to dismiss the modal view controller with animation the view changes its position from the center of the screen to the left side just before the animation starts.. This happens only if the keyboard is up and only in landscape mode on the iPad. If the user closes the modal view without pressing on any text field this doesn't happen. Anyone familiar with this strange behavior?

Its working nicely accross all the browsers.Except when I enable Selenium IDE ,my custom confirm dialog function fails to capture "options" parameters and firefox console echos like this: options is undefined callback=options.callback; Error When Selenium IDE is visible Normal Behaviour When Selenium IDE is closed Please help me sort out this issue so I should able to run selenium tests.

  • Swing: Scroll to bottom of JScrollPane, conditionally on current viewport location

    Hi all, I am attempting to mimic the functionality of Adium and most other chat clients I've seen, wherein the scrollbars advance to the bottom when new messages come in, but only if you're already there. In other words, if you've scrolled a few lines up and are reading, when a new message comes in it won't jump your position to the bottom of the screen; that would be annoying. But if you're scrolled to the bottom, the program rightly assumes that you want to see the most recent messages at all times, and so auto-scrolls accordingly. I have had a bear of a time trying to mimic this; the platform seems to fight this behavior at all costs. The best I can do is as follows: In constructor: JTextArea chatArea = new JTextArea(); JScrollPane chatAreaScrollPane = new JScrollPane(chatArea); // We will manually handle advancing chat window DefaultCaret caret = (DefaultCaret) chatArea.getCaret(); caret.setUpdatePolicy(DefaultCaret.NEVER_UPDATE); In method that handles new text coming in: boolean atBottom = isViewAtBottom(); // Append the text using styles etc to the chatArea if (atBottom) { scrollViewportToBottom(); } public boolean isAtBottom() { // Is the last line of text the last line of text visible? Adjustable sb = chatAreaScrollPane.getVerticalScrollBar(); int val = sb.getValue(); int lowest = val + sb.getVisibleAmount(); int maxVal = sb.getMaximum(); boolean atBottom = maxVal == lowest; return atBottom; } private void scrollToBottom() { chatArea.setCaretPosition(chatArea.getDocument().getLength()); } Now, this works, but it's janky and not ideal for two reasons. By setting the caret position, whatever selection the user may have in the chat area is erased. I can imagine this would be very irritating if he's attempting to copy/paste. Since the advancement of the scroll pane occurs after the text is inserted, there is a split second where the scrollbar is in the wrong position, and then it visually jumps towards the end. This is not ideal. Before you ask, yes I've read this blog post on Text Area Scrolling, but the default scroll to bottom behavior is not what I want.     Hi everybody, I want to create a function that returns the full path from a set node, back to the root value. I tried to make a recursive function, but ran out of luck totally. What would be an appropriate way to do this? I assume that a recursive function is the only way?   • Difference between normal and magic setters and getters

    I am using a magic getter/setter class for my session variables, but I don't see any difference between normal setters and getters. The code: class session { public function __set($name, $value) { $_SESSION[$name] = $value; } public function __unset($name) { unset($_SESSION[$name]); } public function __get($name) { if(isset($_SESSION[$name])) { return $_SESSION[$name]; } } } Now the first thing I noticed is that I have to call $session->_unset('var_name') to remove the variable, nothing 'magical' about that. Secondly when I try to use $session->some_var this does not work. I can only get the session variable using $_SESSION['some_var']. I have looked at the PHP manual but the functions look the same as mine. Am I doing something wrong, or is there not really anything magic about these functions.

    Hi, i met a very strange PHP behaviour, i don't understand why it behaves like this. Do you see some error? It doesn't show me any message it simply doesn't execute the function.

  • Accessing array values in jQuery ajax callback function

    Values are received through a jQuery AJAX callback, but I've been unsuccessful getting at the values. Here's the ajax call: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "ajax/ax_all_ajax_fns.php", data: 'request=edit_timecard_entry&staff_id='+staff_id+'&tid='+tid, success: function(data){ alert(data); } } Here's the code sent out by ax_all_ajax_fns.php: $staff_id = $_POST['staff_id']; $t_id = $_POST['tid']; $rCard = mysql_query("SELECT `staff_id`, `date`, `project_id`, `project_num`, `task_desc`, `hours` FROM `timecards` WHERE `t_id`='$t_id'"); $aCard = mysql_fetch_assoc($rCard); print_r($aCard); // echo $aCard; Of course, I don't want the information print_r'd, I want it echoed. The print_r was used to demonstrate that the correct data was sent out by the PHP script, and it is echoed successfully in the alert() box in the success function. So the correct data is being returned, and (if correctly formatted) it is viewable. The data returned in this way looks like this in the alert() popup: Array ( [staff_id] => 51 [date] => 2012-10-18 [project_id] => 0 [project_num => 49 [task_desk] => This is a task [hours] => 3.30 ) But when I use echo to output the $aCard array and then try to break it down inside the success function of the ajax call, I can't figure out how to get at the values. My attempts have consistently returned values of "undefined". In the success function, in place of alert(data);, I've tried this: var tce_staff_id = data['staff_id']; alert(tce_staff_id); and this: var tce_staff_id = data.staff_id; alert(tce_staff_id); What am I missing? UPDATE: Thanks to Martin S. for information re json_encode() PHP instruction. I've modified the ajax script as follows: echo json_encode($aCard); I now get THIS result from alert(data); in the success function: {"staff_id":"51","date":"2012-10-18","project_id":"0","project_num":"49","task_desc":"This is a task","hours":"3.30"} However, the following returns "undefined": alert(data.staff_id); alert(data[0].staff_id); var test = data.staff_id; alert(test); Can anyone see what I'm missing? All above code comes immediately after alert(data) inside the success callback of the ajax function. alert(data) DOES work and displays the desired data, as above.

  • Winforms: calling entry form function from a different class

    I'm kinda new to programming and got a question on what is a good practice. I created a class that represents a ball and it has a function Jump() that use 2 timers and get the ball up and down. I know that in Winforms you got to call Invalidate() every time you want to repaint the screen, or part of it. I didn't find a good way to do that, so I reference the form in my class, and called Invalidate() inside my ball class every time I need to repaint to ball movement.   • Replacement for PHP's __autoload function?

    I have read about dynamically loading your class files when needed in a function like this: function __autoload($className) { include("classes/$className.class.php"); } $obj = new DB(); Which will automatically load DB.class.php when you make a new instance of that class, but I also read in a few articles that it is bad to use this as it's a global function and any libraries that you bring into your project that have an __autoload() function will mess it up. So does anyone know of a solution? Perhaps another way to achieve the same effect as __autoload()? Until I find a suitable solution I'll just carry on using __autoload() as it doesn't start becoming a problem until you bring in libraries and such. Thanks.

  • Splitting MS Access Database - Front End Part Location

    One of the best practices as specified by Microsoft for Access Development is splitting Access application into 2 parts; Front End that hold all the object except tables and the Back End that holds the tables. The msdn page links there to the article Splitting Microsoft Access Databases to Improve Performance and Simplify Maintainability that describes the process in details. It is recommended that in multi user environment the Back End is stored on the server/shared folder while the Front End is distributed to each user. That implies that each time there are any changes made to the front end they need to be deployed to every user machine. My question is: Assuming that the users themselves do not have rights to modify the Front End part of the application what would be the drawbacks/dangers of leaving this on the server as well next to the Back End copy? I can see the performance issues here, but are there any dangers here like possible corruptions etc? Thank you EDIT Just to clarify, the scenario specified in question assumes one Front End stored on the server and shared by users. I understand that the recommendation is to have FE deployed to each user machine, but my question is more about what are the dangers if that is not done. E.g. when you are given an existing solution that uses the approach of both FE and BE on the server. Assuming the the performance is acceptable and the customer is reluctant to change the approach would you still push the change? And why exactly? For example the danger of possible data corruption would definitely be the strong enough argument, but is that the case?     Hi, I need a POI database for a startup project I am working on - it will be a free basic version and a premium paid for version in the sense that user will pay a monthly subscription. I would like to use foursquare type checkin to places and plancast type functionality to search for places (one-line search). Ie I need to: - perform a search for POIs around a location - associate users to that POI, with a time stamp - allow users to add own POIs - provide free-text search for POIs (a la google one-line search) Google API allows great search, but I understand there are limits in number of requests that can be done? This would prevent scaling, and may result in application breaking when too many users. Also what does google T&C say about using this in a paid for service? Openstreetmap I understand does not have these contstraints, but do they also provide a good one-line search type API? Or how could I solve this? Many thanks for any advice, Ellie

I have some problems passing an array of structures (containing mpz_ts) adress to a function : I wille try to explain my problem with some code. I would need to edit the mpz_t2 structure array in petit_test. I tried some other ways allocating and passing the array to the function but I didn't manage to get this right.   • Getting text at clicked location in an HTML element

    I have a div element containing some text. When the user clicks a word inside that div I'd like to highlight just that word. In order to do this I need to know what character position in the text the click occurred at, so I can then locate nearby whitespace and insert some formatting around the word. Finding out where the click occurred within the text is the trick here. Is that kind of thing possible?

  • Changing IIS URL Rewrite config location

    Hi When used at site level, the IIS7 URL Rewrite 2 module saves its configuration in the web.config file of that site. I'm using Sitecore CMS, and best practice is to store any web.config customisations in a separate config file for ease of upgrading, staging/production setups etc. Is there any way to specify a different config file for IIS7 redirects? I know that application-level rewrites are stored in ApplicationHost.config, but I have several sites running on the server and would like to keep them separated. Thanks, Adam

  • VS2010: "Select Resource" dialog & resx location

    Got two issues with the VS2010 / VS2008 select resource dialog - the one that appears when you want to add an image to a button in a WinForms app for example. Give me my files back! It only seems to see the default project resources file (Properties\Resources.resx), and resx files in project root (say MyProject\famfamfam.resx). We have quite a few icons all over the app, and because some of them come from different icon sets (like famfamfam), and some are related to this project only we'd like to keep them separate. For that same reason (keeping solution neat & tidy) we want to store these extra resource files in the Resources folder (eg. Resources\famfamfam.resx). However, we'd also like to keep using the Select Resource dialog :-) Because it does not see the 'extra' resource files, we're having to select a 'fake' icon now (from the global Resources.resx file) and then manually change that to reference the right icon in .Designer.cs. As you can imagine, this is a pain. Stop modifying my files! Second issue is a bit more annoying. We use the excellent MultiLang add-in for Visual Studio to globalize our app. It stores its translations in MultiLang.resx & MultiLang.XY.resx files in the project root, where XY is a language code, eg. .cs.resx for Czech. These have to be set to No code generation access modifier. What Select Resource seems to be doing is set all .resx files it can find to Internal. Exec summary Is there a way to convince Select Resource dialog to look for extra .resx files anywhere besides the project root? Is there any way to stop it from modifying the access modifier of the resources it does see (other than file a bug with MS)? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

  • Jqm is not a function

    Hi all, I'm having some trouble with Jquery and JqModal, and I hope you are able to help, since I've been struggling for hours.. Having a single button element with an onclick action running my method "test" (shown below): $('#picture_form').jqm({ajax: '/test.php'}); $('#picture_form').jqmShow(); This will load the ajax content of test.php into my div element picture_form, shown using JqModal as its supposed to! Though when I close this window, and re-clicks the button I'm getting the error: $("#picture_form").jqm is not a function. As a solution I've tried to use the JqModal trigger function, and this leaves me able to open and close the JqModal windows as many times as I want to. Sadly I can only call the 'trigger' using test environment, in my production code I have to open the JqModal window using a function.. Does anyone have a clue why this 'bug' appears when calling the opening when using a function? Thanks in advance

    Hi, I'm new to using TFS build. I've got a build defined that runs as a continuous integration. It creates a drop folder, but there's nothing in it. What's the best practice for moving stuff in the drop folder? I've seen a Binaries folder, do I need to copy things into their, or do I alter the TFSbuild.proj in some way to copy the files I want to the drop folder? Thanks.
