    Hi, i am trying to build APACHE ODE source code with Buildr using Ruby.     hi all, in the last while I installed MS-TFS 2008 then started to get myself prepared to use Agile Process Guidance template shipped with the TFS. with little googling I passed through Mike Cohn materials: I watched his conference in youtube "sponsored by google: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fb9Rzyi8b90 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeT0pOVg0EI Read his book "Agile Estimating and Planning" Watching the video series in his website: http://www.mountaingoatsoftware.com/presentations-tag/video-recorded I was very happy while absorbing and eating the techniques he is using with the teams and how agile and scrum is such a great software process/methodology until I saw Mike answering a question regarding an architect role and talking about the requirements document... at that point everything start falling apart due to the following: Last year I had been assigned to make full analysis "including requirements gathering" for big project "very high priority project". within 2 months of hardwork, dedication and commitment I delivered the whole analysis with full satisfaction of the customer and my BOSS and ZERO amendments. Later on, the project entered the architecting, development ... phases. due to the fact that the system included many competitive and exciting features I requested patenting it and its going in the process... so imagine you are the kind of person who used to love facing all kind of challenges and returning with excellent experience and results for the stakeholders and yourself, How fairly agile and scrum processes will credit and admit your talent and passion while the scrum master/coach treat the team as one unit that accomplish user stories and converge through trial and error approach??!!!! with that dark thoughts about agile and scrum I found many people "anti agile" and on top of them is "Crispin Rogers Johnson": http://agile-crispin.blogspot.com/ that guy made anti statement for everything Mike Cohn used to talk about.   • Saving State Dynamic UserControls...Help!

    I have page with a LinkButton on it that when clicked, I'd like to add a Usercontrol to the page. I need to be able to add/remove as many controls as the user would like. The Usercontrol consists of three dropdownlists. The first dropdownlist has it's auotpostback property set to true and hooks up the OnSelectedIndexChanged event that when fired will load the remaining two dropdownlists with the appropriate values. My problem is that no matter where I put the code in the host page, the usercontrol is not being loaded properly. I know I have to recreate the usercontrols on every postback and I've created a method that is being executed in the hosting pages OnPreInit method. I'm still getting the following error: The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases. Everytime that the foreach loop hits a $content['contentTitle'] i need it to insert a new table and then from there carry on essentially what I am what is for the loop to spit out a new table every a new contentTitle is found, but then add the rest of the data in the array as tr and td's

  • Help with password complexity regex

    I'm using the following regex to validate password complexity: /^.*(?=.{6,12})(?=.*[0-9]{2})(?=.*[A-Z]{2})(?=.*[a-z]{2}).*$/ In a nutshell: 2 lowercase, 2 uppercase, 2 numbers, min length is 6 and max length is 12. It works perfectly, except for the maximum length, when I'm using a minimum length as well. For example: /^.*(?=.{6,})(?=.*[0-9]{2})(?=.*[A-Z]{2})(?=.*[a-z]{2}).*$/ This correctly requires a minimum length of 6! And this: /^.*(?=.{,12})(?=.*[0-9]{2})(?=.*[A-Z]{2})(?=.*[a-z]{2}).*$/ Correctly requires a maximum length of 12. However, when I pair them together as in the first example, it just doesn't work!! What gives? Thanks!

    I am writing a C# function for doing dynamic range compression (an audio effect that basically squashes transient peaks and amplifies everything else to produce an overall louder sound). This function definitely produces a louder overall sound, but with an unacceptable level of distortion, even at low threshold values and low ratios. Can anybody see anything wrong with this function? Am I handling the stereo aspect correctly (the function assumes stereo input)? As I (dimly) understand things, I don't want to compress the two channels separately, so my code is attempting to compress a "virtual" mono sample value and then apply the same degree of compression to the L and R sample value separately. Not sure I'm doing it right, however. I think part of the problem may the "hard knee" of my function, which kicks in the compression abruptly when the threshold is crossed. I think I may need to use a "soft knee" like this: Can anybody suggest a modification to my function to produce the soft knee curve?

  • Help with force close occurrences in my app

    This is the last issue with this app. Periodic force close situations. I think something should be on another thread but I'm not sure what. Anyway, I can always count on a freeze on first install.   • In need of help with setting up the open source library JFreeChart

    I am having trouble with setting up the open source library JFreeChart for creating charts using Java. This is the process I have followed so far in trying to set it up: I downloaded the latest version from their download page http://sourceforge.net/projects/jfreechart/files/. I then unpacked the jfreechart-1.0.13.zip in the directory C:\JFreeChart\jfreechart-1.0.13\ on my system drive. In the unpacked directory there is a folder entitled "lib" which contains the packaged .jar files specified as necessary to use JFreeChart. I added the following directory to my classpath: C:\JFreeChart\jfreechart-1.0.13\lib\ I then created a simple program and added the line "import org.jfree.chart.*;" to see if it would compile with a package imported from JFreeChart. I navigated to the folder in which my sample program was contained and compiled with the following command: "javac -classpath C:\ Program.java" I was given the following error: "package org.jfree.chart does not exist" Could someone please give me some input as to what I have done incorrectly in this setup process? This is the first time I've tried using an open source library, so I don't have any prior experience to go on myself. Thank you very much in advance.

It is known that the probability that the child won't like the second type of chocolate is doubled than the probability that he won't like the first type. What is the probability that the child like at least one of the two type of chocolates? So I tried: 1-[P(not like the first type AND not like the second type)] which is like: 1-[P(not like the first type)*P(not like first type / not like the second type) + P(not like the second type) which equals: P(not like first type / not like second type) But now, I don't have the data of the conditional probability. In addition, I'd like to see how could it solved using a computer programming language. Any ideas? Thank you.

    I'm building a CMS for my company's website (I've looked at the existing Django solutions and want something that's much slimmer/simpler, and that handles our situation specifically.. Plus, I'd like to learn this stuff better). I'm having trouble wrapping my head around generic relations. I have a Page model, a SoftwareModule model, and some other models that define content on our website, each with their get_absolute_url() defined. I'd like for my users to be able to assign any Page instance a list of objects, of any type, including other page instances. This list will become that Page instance's sub-menu. We're on our way. What I'm not sure how to pull off, is on the page instance's change form, how to create the relationship between that page, and any other extant object in the database. My desired end result: to render the following in a template: <ul> {% for link in page.links.all %} <li><a href='{{ link.content_object.get_absolute_url() }}'>{{ link.title }}</a></li> {% endfor%} </ul> Obviously, there's something I'm unaware of or mis-understanding, but I feel like I'm, treading into that area where I don't know what I don't know.     Hi all, I have a personal project I'm planning and I came to a small hurdle. I want to have an item with price that will be the default for all clients/users. However, in my business I have some clients that are grandfathered in to some special pricing. In the case of these grandfathered in cases, I'll manually plug their special price in my admin section. Then all they will see is their special pricing while the regular users/clients see the default price. What is the best and simplest way to design the back-end for this?     Hi all, I have an associative array in awk that gets populated like this... chr_count[$3]++ When I try to print my chr_counts I use this: for (i in chr_count) { print i,":",chr_count[i]; } But not surprisingly, the order of i is not sorted in any way. Is there an easy way to iterate over the sorted "keys" of chr_count?

  • Android - need UI help/advice

    I have been working on Android for the past couple of months getting to know how various components work. One area I am completely lacking in knowledge is any sort of User Interface or graphical interface creation. As an excercise I have been asked to break down the HTC call screen into what components it contains and rebuild as close as possible. Here is a picture of the HTC call screen: From my understanding the above UI has a custom title bar where "Meteor" and the call time appears. Then the main image in the middle block along with a text view showing the called party, in this case "Voice Mail" and the number. The bottom is then a custom view maybe with three custom buttons used within it. Would I be correct in my above assumptions? So the parts I should look into start programming are a custom title bar and a custom view with three custom buttons to place at the bottom? What layout would be reccomended? I hope this question is seen as relative to Stack Overflow, if it is not then I will delete it. Thanks in advance
