  • Why do certain replied emails missing threading when replied back in Mutt?

    I use Mutt for emails. I have threads enabled and I can see that most of the emails are threaded in Mutt. So that is all good. But sometimes I reply to an email and the answer(from other person) to my replied email wont be part of any threads. The thing is that when I reply in Mutt (which I use Vim to edit them), the subject parts keeps getting longer and longer with many "Re"s. That is the case with those emails with missing threads. I have: set strict_threads="yes" set sort="threads" set edit_headers=yes I am wondering if this has anything to do with Mutt or the person I am communicating over email. Could this one be the culprit? set metoo=yes Any suggestions?

    Hi can someone please help me. I'm using win7 64Bit and I'm trying to download this program "Croque-Mort" But when I do, I'm getting an error: "Component MSINET.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" I tried to check it by opening my cmd.exe and run as administrator and then type : regsvr32 msinet.ocx Then I got an error: "The module "MSINET.OCX" failed to load. Make sure the binary is sorted at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or depenedent .DLL files. The specified module coudl not be found" Is there a way to install this component? Would appreciate your help

  • Can't set up Usermin correctly to allow users to login outside of local network, what am I missing?

    I'm fairly new at creating a server, but the biggest problem I am currently having at the moment is getting Usermin set up to be accessible from outside the LAN. I talked to other people that use it and was told that all I need to do is type the url:20000 to access the login screen, but that doesn't work. I have also tried the ip:20000 and that doesn't lead to anything. Instead I get the error message: Error - Bad Request This web server is running in SSL mode. Try the URL https://hostname:10000/ instead. (where hostname is my server's hostname) I know it must be a configuration issue, but I have checked all my settings and as far as I can tell I don't have the ports blocked anywhere. I have the correct ports forwarded on my router and my server firewall doesn't have the port block either. Is there anything I am missing? Any help would be appreciated and I will add more information upon request. Thank You.

    I'm using sunspot/rails version 2. It's working great, but I can't figure out how to handle missing fields. If I don't have latitude and longitude this code will map it to 0,0 (near Africa): searchable do text :resume, :stored => true text :city, :boost => 5 latlon(:geo) { Sunspot::Util::Coordinates.new(latitude, longitude) } end I tried using two search blocks, each with a different conditional, but sunspot just uses the first searchable block. What I want to happen is for things missing locations to still be searchable, just not by location.

  • smbclient -L host works. ping host doesn't work. What is missing

    I upgrade my ubuntu desktop to 13.10. When I say upgrade I mean installed on a new partition from scratch (old partition is available if To the problem: I'm trying to ping a host (Drobo-FS server) by it's netbios name. I get "Unknown Host". However running smbclient -l HostName - give me all the output in the world. Stracing the ping I can it tries to use resolv.conf (expected fail) and then when accessing mdns stuff it fails (no mdns.allow file) and exits. Here's the host line from /etc/nsswitch.conf: hosts: files wins mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns mdns4 I've added wins right after files (and also tried before dns. Nothing helps. Reboot after every change. What am I missing?

  • How can I boot a vm on Hyper-V 2012 when it has a virtual hard-drive missing?

    We have a Hyper-V 2012 server with 8 VM's on. We have attached extra virtual hard-drives to each of the computers to store backups on. These drives are stored on a NAS. After a power failure, we tried to boot the VM's and found that they couldn't be booted without the attached backup drives. We couldn't boot the NAS at that point and so we had to remove all the extra drives manually, boot the VM's and re-attach the drives at a later date when we got the NAS back up and running. These backup drives are non-essential to the running of the system. I would like to know if there is a way to boot a VM on Hyper-V 2012 with some of the hard-drives (scsi) missing so that we can recover automatically from a power failure.

  • "Missing operating system" even when booting from Linux Live CD: hardware problem?

    My parents' computer stopped booting from the HDD into Windows: it's showing a "Missing operating system" error. I tried burning a Live CD of the latest Ubuntu and booting from that, but it's giving me the same error. I know the Live CD works (I can boot my laptop from it). It does seem to be actually trying to boot from the CD (when I boot with the CD in it takes longer to get to the error message than if I boot with the CD out, or if I change the BIOS boot order to skip the CD drive; and the CD drive light is active during that time). Might this be a hardware problem? Are there common problems I can look for that might cause this?

  • .NET 3.5 Installation Problems in Windows 8

    Windows 8 installs with .NET 4.5. A default installation of Windows 8 doesn't seem to include .NET 3.0 or 3.5, although .NET 2.0 does seem to be available by default (presumably because Windows has app dependencies on that). I ran into some pretty nasty compatibility issues regarding .NET 3.5 which I'll describe in this post. I'll preface this by saying that depending on how you install Windows 8 you may not run into these issues. In fact, it's probably a special case, but one that might be common with developer folks reading my blog. Specifically it's the install order that screwed things up for me -  installing Visual Studio before explicitly installing .NET 3.5 from Windows Features - in particular. If you install Visual Studio 2010 I highly recommend you install .NET 3.5 from Windows features BEFORE you install Visual Studio 2010 and save yourself the trouble I went through. So when I installed Windows 8, and then looked at the Windows Features to install after the fact in the Windows Feature dialog, I thought - .NET 3.5 - who needs it. I'd be happy to not have to install .NET 3.5, but unfortunately I found out quite a while after initial installation that one of my applications/tools (DevExpress's awesome CodeRush) depends on it and won't install without it. Enabling .NET 3.5 in Windows 8 If you want to run .NET 3.5 on Windows 8, don't download an installer - those installers don't work on Windows 8, and you don't need to do this because you can use the Windows Features dialog to enable .NET 3.5: And that *should* do the trick. If you do this before you install other apps that require .NET 3.5 and install a non-SP1 one version of it, you are going to have no problems. Unfortunately for me, even after I've installed the above, when I run the CodeRush installer I still get this lovely dialog: Now I double checked to see if .NET 3.5 is installed - it is, both for 32 bit and 64 bit. I went as far as creating a small .NET Console app and running it to verify that it actually runs. And it does… So naturally I thought the CodeRush installer is a little whacky. After some back and forth Alex Skorkin on Twitter pointed me in the right direction: He asked me to look in the registry for exact info on which version of .NET 3.5 is installed here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP where I found that .NET 3.5 SP1 was installed. This is the 64 bit key which looks all correct. However, when I looked under the 32 bit node I found: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v3.5 Notice that the service pack number is set to 0, rather than 1 (which it was for the 64 bit install), which is what the installer requires. So to summarize: the 64 bit version is installed with SP1, the 32 bit version is not. Uhm, Ok… thanks for that! Easy to fix, you say - just install SP1. Nope, not so easy because the standalone installer doesn't work on Windows 8. I can't get either .NET 3.5 installer or the SP 1 installer to even launch. They simply start and hang (or exit immediately) without messages. I also tried to get Windows to update .NET 3.5 by checking for Windows Updates, which should pick up on the dated version of .NET 3.5 and pull down SP1, but that's also no go. Check for Updates doesn't bring down any updates for me yet. I'm sure at some random point in the future Windows will deem it necessary to update .NET 3.5 to SP1, but at this point it's not letting me coerce it to do it explicitly. How did this happen I'm not sure exactly whether this is the cause and effect, but I suspect the story goes like this: Installed Windows 8 without support for .NET 3.5 Installed Visual Studio 2010 which installs .NET 3.5 (no SP) I now had .NET 3.5 installed but without SP1. I then: Tried to install CodeRush - Error: .NET 3.5 SP1 required Enabled .NET 3.5 in Windows Features I figured enabling the .NET 3.5 Windows Features would do the trick. But still no go. Now I suspect Visual Studio installed the 32 bit version of .NET 3.5 on my machine and Windows Features detected the previous install and didn't reinstall it. This left the 32 bit install at least with no SP1 installed. How to Fix it My final solution was to completely uninstall .NET 3.5 *and* to reboot: Go to Windows Features Uncheck the .NET Framework 3.5 Restart Windows Go to Windows Features Check .NET Framework 3.5 and voila, I now have a proper installation of .NET 3.5. I tried this before but without the reboot step in between which did not work. Make sure you reboot between uninstalling and reinstalling .NET 3.5! More Problems The above fixed me right up, but in looking for a solution it seems that a lot of people are also having problems with .NET 3.5 installing properly from the Windows Features dialog. The problem there is that the feature wasn't properly loading from the installer disks or not downloading the proper components for updates. It turns out you can explicitly install Windows features using the DISM tool in Windows.dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:f:\sources\sxs You can try this without the /Source flag first - which uses the hidden Windows installer files if you kept those. Otherwise insert the DVD or ISO and point at the path \sources\sxs path where the installer lives.   • DXVA and ATI.... what am I missing?

    ATI Radeon HD3650 ffdshow (the one comes with CCCP 2010-10 AND the latest from Free-codecs site) Catalyst 10.12 Latest DirectX, Windows 7 HP x64 If I try to play it simply, the player (mpc-hc) won't use the acceleration. If I disable checks, I get artifacts. Back then it worked perfectly with my Intel and ATI too (Lenovo ThinkPad T500, switchable graphics). This only appeared recently. What should I do? What am I missing? If possible, I don't really want to downgrade drivers (waaa ATI drivers s.ck ... sorry but.. honestly), because the older one got a buggy DP driver so my external display gets a totally wrong resolution.   • Why am I missing 4GB of RAM on Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit?

    I noticed today that a server was very low on memory. It physically has 8GB installed and runs Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64bit. It also hosts 2 virtual machines using HyperV. Server is Dell Poweredge R510. However the host OS reports in task manager that it only has 4GB of RAM, despite actually having 8GB and it being a 64bit OS. Computer properties shows Installed memory: 8.00GB (3.99GB usuable). Why would "usable" be half the real RAM installed under a 64bit OS? Additionally nearly all of the 4GB of visible RAM on the host OS is being used by something without anything showing up in task manager (presumably HyperV as it's allocated 3.6GB to the virtual machines its hosting). However that doesn't explain where the other 4GB has gone which Windows can't even see. Where is my missing 4GB of RAM? Update: Dell OpenManage says this: Total Installed Capacity 8192 MB Total Installed Capacity Available to the OS 4096 MB So looks like Nathan's suggestion of memory mirroring might be correct. I'll have to reboot to check this (I think?) Update 2 OK. So I reboot and I get a message saying "the amount of system memory has changed" (despite not having touched the hardware in a year). Once Windows has booted, all 8GB is visible again. Looks like I probably have a hardware RAM issue (I'll perhaps try reseating it whenever I can chuck everyone off the server next). Thanks for your answers and comments. I was hoping it was going to be the mirrored-RAM option but it seems not - that's not even mentioned in the BIOS.

As some needed plugins are generated using GMF and EMF, the build workflow must be something like this: SVN Check-out Invoke Generation Run Tests Build all Publish update-site Over the last couple of weeks, i played around with PDE Headless Build and Buckminster. Anyhow i still got problems with both and can't decide on which i should spent my effort. So what would you prefer? What experience you made?   • How can one manage to fully use the newly enhanced Parallelism features in .NET 4.0?

    I am pretty much interested into using the newly enhanced Parallelism features in .NET 4.0. I have also seen some possibilities of using it in F#, as much as in C#. Despite, I can only see what PLINQ has to offer with, for example, the following: var query = from c in Customers.AsParallel() where (c.Name.Contains("customerNameLike") select c; There must for sure be some other use of this parallelism thing. Have you any other examples of using it? Is this particularly turned toward PLINQ, or are there other usage as easy as PLINQ? Thanks! =)

I was digging around making sure things were configured to my liking and noticed the option to enable ACPI 2.0 support. It was disabled by default but I was wondering: Do I need ACPI 2.0 support? Motherboard is ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe. I should also note that I primarily use Windows-7.

    Sinatra is a Ruby DSL for building web applications. It is distinguished from its peers by its minimalism. It is a ruby-based view engine that uses significant white space to avoid having to close tags. It makes views more concise and easier to read. Based on my syntax highlighter for Gherkin I have started to build a sinatra web application that publishes syntax highlighted gherkin feature files. I have found that there is a need to have features online so that customers can access them, and so that they can be linked to project management tools like Jira, Mingle, trac etc. The first thing I want my application to be able to do is display a list of the features that it knows about. This will happen when a user requests the root of the application. Here is my sinatra handler: get '/' do feature_service = Finding::FeatureService.new(Finding::FeatureFileFinder.new, Finding::FeatureReader.new) @features = feature_service.features(settings.feature_path, settings.feature_extensions) haml :index end The handler and the view are in the same scope so the @features variable will be available in the view.   • MD3200 - 3 to 4x less throughput than MD1220. Am I missing something here?

    I have two R710 servers with similar configuration. One in my office has MD1220 attached. Another one in the datacenter of my hosting services vendor has MD3200. I'm getting significantly worse throughput from MD3200 at my vendors setup. I'm mostly interested in sequential writes, and I'm getting these results in bonnie++ and dd tests: Seq. writes on MD1220 in my office: 1.1 GB/s - bonnie++, 1.3GB/s - dd Seq. writes on MD3200 at my vendor's: 240MB/s - bonnie++, 310MB/s - dd Unfortunately, I could not test the exactly the same configurations, but the two I have should be comparable. If anything, my good performing environment is cheaper than the bad performing. I expect at least similar throughput from these two setups. My vendor cannot really help me. Hopefully, somebody more familiar with the DAS performance can look at it and tell if I'm missing something here and my expectations are too high. To summarize, the question here is it reasonable to expect about 100MB/s of sequential write throughput per each couple of drives in RAID10 on MD3200? Is there any trick to enable such performance in MD3200 with dual controller as opposed to simple MD1220 with a single H800 adapter? More details about the configurations: A good one in my office: Dell R710 2CPU X5650 @ 2.67GHz 12 cores 96GB DDR3, OS: RHEL 5.5, kernel 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5 x86_64 20x300GB 2.5" SAS 10K in a single RAID10 1MB chunk size on MD1220 + Dell H800 I/O controller with 1GB cache in the host Not so good one at my vendor's: Dell R710 2CPU L5520 @ 2.27GHz 8 cores 144GB DDR3, OS: RHEL 5.5, kernel 2.6.18-194.11.4.el5 x86_64 20x146GB 2.5" SAS 15K in a single RAID10 512KB chunk size, Dell MD3200, 2 I/O controllers in array with 1GB cache each Additional information. I've also ran the same tests on the same vendor's host, but the storage was: two raids of 14x146GB 15K RPM drives RAID 10, striped together on the OS level on MD3000+MD1000. The performance was about 25% worse than on MD3200 despite having more drives. When I ran similar tests on the internal storage of my vendor's host (2x146GB 15K RPM drives RAID1, Perc 6i) I've got about 128MB/s seq. writes. Just two internal drives gave me about a half of 20 drives' throughput on MD3200. The random I/O performance of the MD3200 setup is ok, it gives me at least 1300 IOPS. I'm mostly have problems with sequentioal I/O throughput. Thank you for looking into it. Regards Igor
