• Beginner Access VBA SQL INSERT Question

  Syntax question: I am using the code below to call a query in Access VBA strSQL = "INSERT INTO tblLoanDetails ([ServerName]) VALUES ('Test') WHERE [ID]=3" Call CurrentDb.Execute(strSQL) And i am getting a runtime error of "3067: Query must contain atleast one table or query." the insert statement string looks like this (Threw the var into a text box): INSERT INTO tblLoanDetails ([ServerName]) VALUES ('Test') WHERE [ID]=3 I also tried adding a semi-colon to the end but with no luck. I also double checked to make sure my table is called tblLoanDetails and my Column names are ServerName, and ID Appreciate any help.

  So I have (for instance) three views: A: root view B: a view functionally identical to root C: a data entry view which collects a few piece of info What I'm trying to do is reuse C to supply the data it collects to either A or B. It should supply the data to whichever of the two it is pushed onto. The data for A is similar, but functionally distinct, to what collects for B. Right now, I'm passing data from C to A or B via a singleton class. What I'm trying to avoid is having two instances of C, one to supply data to A and B (because, in actuality, the program will have 5 total views like C. Does the question make sense?

Supposing I have an instruction like this one, in the rules part: "=" BEGIN(attribution); <attribution>{var_name} { fprintf(yyout, "="); ECHO; } <attribution>";" BEGIN(INITIAL); {var_name} is a regular expression that matches a variable's name, and all I want to do is to copy at the output all the attribution instructions, such as a = 3; or b = a; My rule though cannot write with fprintf the left member of the attribution, but only = 3; or =a; One solution for that might be that, after I make the match "=" and I am in the attribution state, to go 2 positions back as to get the left operand as well. How can I do that in Flex?

  I have a DB with user accounts information. I've scheduled a CRON job which updates the DB with every new user data it fetches from their accounts. I was thinking that this may cause a problem since all requests are coming from the same IP address and the server may block requests from that IP address. Is this the case?   I've had a test, and there was a question I lost some points on, because I wasn't able to answer it : Which of the following is NOT a condition which can cause a thread to block : Calling an objects's wait() method Waiting for an I/O operation Calling sleep() Calling yield() Calling join() As far as I know, all of these are blocking calls : wait() returns when an something calls notify(), blocks until then If the thread is WAITING for an I/O operation then it's obviously blocked sleep(), obviously, blocks until the time runs out, or something wakes up the thread yield() "cancels the rest of the thread's timeslice" (lacking a better term), and returns only when the thread is active again join() blocks until the thread it's waiting for terminates. Am I missing something here?

  Hi, Some time ago I have payed to a programmer for doing multithread server. In the meantime I have learned C# a bit and now I think I can see the slowndown problem - I was told by that guy that nothing is processed on the main thread (Form) so it cannot be frozen..but it is. But I think that altough BeginAcceptSocket is async operation, but its callback runs on the main thread and if there is locking, thats the reason why the app freezes. Am I right?   I read various stuff on this and understand the principle and concepts involved, however, none of paper mentions the details of how to calculate the fitness of a chromosome (which represents a route) involving adjacent cities (in the chromosome) that are not directly connected by an edge (in the graph). For example, given a chromosome 1|3|2|8|4|5|6|7, in which each gene represents the index of a city on the graph/map, how do we calculate its fitness (i.e. the total sum of distances traveled) if, say, there is no direct edge/link between city 2 and 8. Do we follow some sort of greedy algorithm to work out a route between 2 and 8, and add the distance of this route to the total? This problem seems pretty common when applying GA to TSP. Anyone who's done it before please share your experience. Thanks.

  Hi everyone. I am working on releasing an app that will greatly benefit from using the in app purchase model. The app is a sort of book viewer, and the content I would like to make available for purchase will be more books in various languages. Each book is stored in sqlite format, in separate .db files. Now, the way that my developer has set it all up is that he added a line onto the bottom of the info.plist file called databases. Inside that database section, I can type in 'es' as the key, and for the value the name of the spanish database, and it populates in a uitableview in spanish, using NSLocale. So it is very easy to setup and implement different databases, which is great, but now I am confused about how I can implement my in app purchase model. Sorry about the long winded intro, here is my question: Is it possible to have an in app purchase add a line to my info.plist file? Or if not, is it possible to have the purchase reveal a new and updated plist file altogether that I would have already setup correctly? Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks

I designed a small wiki with needed functionalities and a scientific RTE - ofcourse lot is expected. I used mootools framework and AJAX extensively. I was always curious when ever I saw the query strings passed from URL. Long encrypted query string directly getting passed to the server. Especially Google's design is such. I think this is the start of providing a Web Service to a client - I guess. Now, my question is : is this a special, highly professional, efficient / advanced web design technique to communicate queries via the URL ? I always felt that direct URL based communication is faster.
