  • set windows PATH environment variable at runtime in Java

    I have a java program that fires off an executable using the Runtime.exec() method. I'm using the variant that takes in a set of command line params as one argument, and some environment variables as another argument. The environment variable I'm tryign to set is path, so i'm passing in "PATH=C:\some\path". This does not work. Is there some trick to this or any alternatives. I am stuck to Java 1.4 unfortunately.

    I want to retrieve the cpu usage/free percentage from mpstat output. The bash cut can be used to retrieve such details but i dont know what should be the delimiter viz.   • Can not set Windows XP Keyboard configuration

    A friend of mine came to me with a french Windows XP where windows had decided that keyboard would now be english-US keyboard instead of french keyboard. After a few attempts, I came to the strange conclusion that it's impossible to change it. Whatever keyboard configuration I apply, the language dialog does not complain but sticks to the english-us keyboard. I tried : setting two keyboards, with FR as default setting two keyboards, with EN-US as default one keyboard as FR It's like it was impossible to apply a new keyboard configuration. Any idea what could be wrong ?

It is working quite good on the 3GS (could be a bit faster but that's fine) ... but do you think I should test it on the 3G ?     I've read this question to figure out how to set float:none on an element which already has float:right set with class. I used element.style.cssFloat = "none", but this just added a new style property cssFloat which didn't over-ride the existing float:right. I've now fixed it using the adding/removing classes method. But is there a way of over-riding existing float rules in ie without having to use classes?

    I am trying to configure pppd to connect to a 3G network (Sprint, in this case) and then stay connected, reconnecting automatically if the remote connection is terminated. I have enabled the persist option.     When I compile a ruby file to a java class using jrubyc, I get different output when compiling with just jrubyc and with jrubyc --java (to generate the java file) and just javac. Why? Example: First Method: $ jrubyc --java myscript.rb $ javac -cp .:./jruby-complete.jar myscript.java Second Method: $ jrubyc myscript.rb I'd expect the generated classes to be exactly the same, but they're not. What's jrubyc doing under the covers? Thanks!

What is the problem with dmenu?

    I have been battling with .htaccess rules to get my SSL setup working right for the past few days.I get a requested URL not found error whenever I try access any requests that does not do through the index controller. For example this URL would work fine if I enter the it manually https://www.example.com/index.php/auth/register However my application has been built in such a way that the url should be this https://www.example.com/auth/register and that gives the requested URL not found error My other URLs such as https://www.example.com/index/faq https://www.example.com/index/blog https://www.example.com/index/terms work just fine. What rule do I need to write in my htaccess to get the URL https://www.example.com/auth/register working?     I'm trying to set up a JCarousel instance witht the wrap set to circular, however, I noticed an issue where I "inspect element" in Chrome, duplicate elements are added to the html when the slides repeat (it can be viewed on the official example page). http://sorgalla.com/projects/jcarousel/examples/static_circular.html I know this is an open bug on GitHub.     I currently started to "port" my console projects to WinForms, but it seems I am badly failing doing that. I am simply used to a console structure: I got my classes interacting with each other depending on the input coming from the console. A simple flow: Input -> ProcessInput -> Execute -> Output -> wait for input Now I got this big Form1.cs (etc.) and the "Application.Run(Form1);" But I really got no clue how my classes can interact with the form and create a flow like I described above. I mean, I just have these "...._Click(object sender....)" for each "item" inside the form. Now I do not know where to place / start my flow / loop, and how my classes can interact with the form.

  • Access router set up as a bridge behind another router

    I have a problem my ISP is refusing to help me with, even though they put up the whole system. Specifications: There's a Thomson TG784 router through which the internet comes in to the building, Behind that (for some reason) is a Juniper NetScreen 5XT - 105 Firewall/Router? which leads to an AMX nxa-enet24 switch that carries the connections all over the building and a series of Apple AirPorts for wifi. Problem: The first router (Thomson) is required for ipTV (by Elion). The tv or ipTV box has to be connected straight to the Thomson router. My service provider cannot see the Thomson router from their side, but see the Juniper, so we might think the Thomson has been configured as a bridge. I need a way to access the Thomson router and see it's configurations, because currently, when connecting a Samsung tv to that router (with elion app for ipTV viewing) or even a computer, it cannot access the internet and even if it could, it would update the Thomson router software, losing it's configurations which I need to preserve. I'm unable to find out the Thomson routers ip address to connect to it, and when directly conencting with a cat5 cable, it doesn't give me an ip address. Hope someone can show me the correct direction for solving my issue. Thank you all for reading, and I appreciate any help, Alari Truuts
