• MVC2 Ajax Form does unwanted page refresh

  Hi, I am pretty new to MVC. I thought that the default behaviour of the Ajax.BeginForm was exactly not to do that? Where's my newbie mistake? My Controller is called correctly, but data passing also doesn't work. Probably because of the same mistake? • INetCfgComponent::RaisePropertyUi arguments

  I'm trying to do some COM interop and attempting to invoke the INetCfgComponent::RaisePropertyUi method. I've gotten to the point where I can enumerate devices and get a valid INetCfgComponent for the adapter that I want to display the UI for. However, I'm a COM newbie (let alone COM interop) so I have no idea what the third argument in RaisePropertyUi() is meant to be. I've tried passing in the INetCfgComponent object that I have, but that just results in a InvalidCastException. MSDN has the following to say about the argument: Pointer to the IUnknown interface. RaisePropertyUi retrieves from IUnknown the interface of the context in which to display a network component's property sheet. RaisePropertyUi uses this interface to restrict the display of the property sheet to the context of a connection.

• netbeans editor loses focus on editor and gives it to the menubar

  Hi all, I am newbie of using Netbeans and i have Netbeans 6.5 on XP. So, here is my problem: when i am working on Netbeans and switch to an another task and then come back later, editor of the Netbeans losts the focus and the menubar gains it. I don't want to press ALT key again to re-focus on the editor. I made some search on help contents of the Netbeans and google and i couldn't find any solution. Have any of you got an idea to solve this problem? By the way, i am sorry about my unfluent English. Have a nice day!

• HELP: deploying applications that use LINQ to Entities.

I want to use L2E since it s very convenient to my company's apps, I created a demo project, the demo does run on every machine but when I, lets say, press a button that has some code that uses the entity I get this error: specified store provider cannot be found in the configuration, or is not valid. note that I get this error only on machines that does not have VS2008 installed, on these machines (the ones with VS2008) the demo works well. any advice is appreciated. I am using MySql server with Mysql Conector 6.3 and the model is created with ADO.Net entitiy model. • Spring webflow validation

  Hi, complete and utter newbie on spring webflow (and indeed, spring mvc). 30 minutes in... got the first page of my flow appearing, which happens to be a captcha, an input field and a submit button. The actual captcha value is stored in session and i need to validate that the input field values matches the value in session. In order to do validation, my model is passed a 'ValidationContext'. Question: i can't seem to access session data from the ValidationContext. How do i do this? Thanks!

  I've developed an iPhone app that has been running MPMoviePlayer (pre 3.2 SDK) with no problems. I know this is a newbie question, but how do I get a movie to play in the new MPMoviePlayerViewController. I am only getting audio and wish to learn the new view controller. • Drupal 6: Drupal Themer gives same candidate name for different type of content types

  Hi friends, I'm a drupal newbie... I have different type of contents like News, Events, etc. and their content is different. News detail page has title-content text-date. but Events detail page has title-date-content text-location-speaker-etc. So I need different layout page for these different types. So, I enabled Drupal Themer to get a candidate name. for events page, it gave me page-node.tpl.php and it gives same for News page as well :( how can I separate these pages? I expected sth like page-event-node.tpl , but no... :/ Drupal Themer also give unique candidate name for event page like page-node-18.tpl.php but it doesnt mean anything since I can not create a general layout for all events by this node name. :( Appreciate helps so much!! I have a simple powershell script that just replace text but I found that the regex replace turn my multiline data source into a single line text when the output is produced. I want the line breaks to be preserved. Here is the dumb down version of the script. $source=(Get-Content textfile.txt) $process1 = [regex]::Replace($source, "line", "line2") $process1 | out-file -encoding ascii textfile2.txt You can create a test file call textfile.txt with simple lines like this to test it line line Some line More line here Have I missed something obvious? • Drawing a route in mapkit in iphone sdk

  Hello, I want to draw a route between 2 locations on the map.. something as a tour guide.When the tourist clicks another location i want to be able to draw the route as well as inform the distance from current location. I am aware of sites on the internet which tell how to draw polylines on map. But,one such example had a preloaded .csv file with various coordinates. Is there an alternate way to get the coordinates..as the location is selected dynamically.If no, how do i get the information for intermediate coordinates? • SSRS 2005: How do I make available varbinary data for download in a report?

  Hi, SSRS newbie question here... I have a table where one column is varbinary(max) data. I would like to make a report that makes this data available for download as a hyperlink so the user can just click on the item and get a file download dialog for the binary data. In this particular case, the binary data happens to be the content of old pdf files, but that shouldn't matter. I tried searching around but I can't find any pointers on how to do this. It seems to me that it should be possible. There are ways to display images in a report using varbinary data, so it makes sense that one should be able to make arbitrary binary data downloadable on a report, right?

I have an IP camera connected to my internal network. - "http://192.168.1.20/videostream.cgi?user=admin&pwd=" gives a live streaming view in Firefox or Internet Explorer. • drawRect not being called in my subclass of UIImageView

  I have subclassed UIImageView and tried to override drawRect so I could draw on top of the image using Quartz 2D. I know this is a dumb newbie question, but I'm not seeing what I did wrong. Isn't it supposed to be called when the view first loads? Have I incorrectly overridden it?

  We recently updated our SQL 2008 server to use SP 2 and its causing a few headaches. We use SSRS on this server and when a client tries to print a report by the built-in print function, we're needing to download the RsClientPrint ActiveX control from the server from the client gets the following error Unable to load client print control. We have about 700 computers that are needing this fixed and I've followed the instructions found on the following URL: http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/client-side-printing-silent-deployment-of-rsclientPrint.aspx We have two issues: Most of the users who will be using this ActiveX control are not local administrators so they will not be able to install the control themselves Since there are so many computers, this has to be done silently behind the scenes run by a local admin account After following the information from the link above, we're able to put the files in the C:\Windows\System32 folder and register the DLL but we still get the same problem. The only small thing I've noticed is that in the HTML for the report page, everything that references a version is referencing version 2007.100.4000.00 and the version of the DLL that I pulled from the report server is 2007.100.1600.22. Also, for some clients that are local administrators, they are prompted every time to install the ActiveX control when they click print. This works successfully but we can't have the user asked if they want to install the same control every time they need to print.

• Display Image over map layer in GeoServer

  Hi I am newbie when it comes to GeoServer and trying to figure out if there is an easy way to display images on top of map layer. A background: In my application, based on a search criteria, some polygons are drawn on the map. Each polygon has a corresponding image (in TIFF format) that is stored somewhere. I want to load the image on top of the map when the user zooms in to a certain zoom level. I know this can be done using openLayers but since my images are in TIFF format, (openLayers is not able to render TIFF images as far as i know) i have to convert them to .PNG first which would be very slow considering the number of images i have. Hence I was wondering whether it would be possible to create a image layer that would retrieve an image of a certain polygon at a certain zoom level. If so, could anyone point me to an example or give me an idea on whether this is possible. I am using spring 2.5, tomcat 5, java 1.6 and geoserver 2.0 Thanks.

  I have a bit of a newbie xml schema question. I believe the answer is that what I need to do is not possible with schema, but I'd like to be sure. The problem is that I have a webservice that returns a response with one type of root element on success (say <Response), and on a complete failure, returns a document with a different root element (say, <Exception). So, basically, two completely different documents: <Response......</Response OR <Exception....</Exception Is it possible to describe these two different documents with one schema document? It's like I want a choice as the first element under the schema element -- but that isn't valid syntax. I've tried a couple of variants that parse as valid xsd, but don't validate the documents. Any suggestions? Or is this simply not possible? Thanks very much in advance -- m

I have a set of related applications that I'd like to group into a sub-application but can not figure out how to get manage.py to do this for me. Ideally I'll end up with a structure like: project/ app/ subapp1/ subapp2/ I've tried: manage.py startapp app.subapp1 manage.py startapp app/subapp1 but this tells me that / and . are invalid characters for app names I've tried changing into the app directory and running ../manage.py subapp1 but that makes supapp1 at the top level. NOTE, I'm not trying to directly make a stand-alone application. I'm trying to do all this from within a project.

• Best way to display a list of events by month

  I have a mySQL table of events and want to display them in a list using PHP. Pretty simple, except I only want to display the month name once, for example: May 2010 12th, 7 pm. Event 1 - event one description 15th, 5:30 pm. Event 2 - event two description June 2010 9th, 7 pm. Event 1 - event one description 11th, 5:30 pm. Event 2 - event two description I'm very new at SQL and PHP. I can think of one way to do it. It would involve selecting all records grouped by date, then looping through all records, comparing the month/year value each time and the first time the month/year doesn't match, print a new header row to my HTML table. I can't believe it's the best or most efficient way to go. Any ideas for a newbie? I'm sure my way would work, but it's inelegant at best, and processor-intensive at worst.

• Windows 2008 RenderFarm Service: CreateProcessAsUser "Session 0 Isolation" and OpenGL

  Hello, I have a legacy Windows server service and (spawned) application that works fine in XP-64 and W2K3, but fails on W2K8. I believe it is because of the new "Session 0 isolation " feature. (Note: As a StackOverflow newbie I'm being limited to one link in this post, so you'll need to scroll to bottom to lookup the links for '' items)* Consequently, I'm looking for code samples/security settings mojo that let you create a new process from a windows service for Windows 2008 Server such that I can restore (and possibly surpass) the previous behavior. I need a solution that: Creates the new process in a non-zero session to get around session-0 isolation restrictions (no access to graphics hardware from session 0) - the official MS line on this is: Because Session 0 is no longer a user session, services that are running in Session 0 do not have access to the video driver. This means that any attempt that a service makes to render graphics fails. Querying the display resolution and color depth in Session 0 reports the correct results for the system up to a maximum of 1920x1200 at 32 bits per pixel. The new process gets a windows station/desktop (e.g. winsta0/default) that can be used to create windows DCs. I've found a solution (that launches OK in an interactive session) for this here: *(Starting an Interactive Client Process in C++ - 2) The windows DC, when used as the basis for an *(OpenGL DescribePixelFormat enumeration - 3), is able to find and use the hardware-accelerated format (on a system appropriately equipped with OpenGL hardware.) Note that our current solution works OK on XP-64 and W2K3, except if a terminal services session is running (VNC works fine.) A solution that also allowed the process to work (i.e. run with OpenGL hardware acceleration even when a terminal services session is open) would be fanastic, although not required. I'm stuck at item #1 currently, and although there are some similar postings that discuss this (like *(this -4), and *(this - 5) - they are not suitable solutions, as there is no guarantee of a user session logged in already to "take" a session id from, nor am I running from a LocalSystem account (I'm running from a domain account for the service, for which I can adjust the privileges of, within reason, although I'd prefer to not have to escalate priorities to include SeTcbPrivileges.) For instance - here's a stub that I think should work, but always returns an error 1314 on the SetTokenInformation call (even though the AdjustTokenPrivileges returned no errors) I've used some alternate strategies involving "LogonUser" as well (instead of opening the existing process token), but I can't seem to swap out the session id. I'm also dubious about using the WTSActiveConsoleSessionId in all cases (for instance, if no interactive user is logged in) - although a quick test of the service running with no sessions logged in seemed to return a reasonable session value (1). Is there a better approach (short of "Launch on logon" and auto-logon for the servers?) Is there something wrong with this code, or a different way to create a process token where I can swap out the session id to indicate I want to spawn the process in a new session? I did try using LogonUser instead of OpenProcessToken, but that didn't work either. (I don't care if all spawned processes share the same non-zero session or not at this point.) • use jsonp to get xml cross domain

  I am trying to read xml into a webpage from another server, and I assume that my problem is Same-Origin Policy, and therefore a cross domain problem. I have a bit of googling and it seems that jsonp is the way forward. Based on some examples I found here on stackoverflow and another sites, this is what I have, and it does not "hit" the server with the xml.
