Increment non unique field during SQL insert

I'm not sure how to word this cause I am a little confused at the moment, so bare with me while I attempt to explain, I have a table with the following fields: OrderLineID, OrderID, OrderLine, and a few other unimportant ones. OrderLineID is the primary key and is always unique(which isn't a problem), OrderID is a foreign key that isn't unique(also not a problem), and OrderLine is a value that is not unique in the table, but should be unique for any OrderIDs that are the same...so if that didn't make sense, perhaps a picture OrderLineID, OrderID, OrderLine 1 1 1 2 1 2 3 1 3 4 2 1 5 2 2 For all OrderIDs there is a unique OrderLine. I am trying to create an insert statement that gets the max OrderLine value for a specific OrderId so I can increment it, but it's not working so well and I could use a little help. What I have right now is below, I build the sql statement in a program and replace OrderID # with an actual value. I am pretty sure the problem is with the nested select statement, and incrementing the result, but I can't find any examples that do this since my google skills are weak apparently.... INSERT INTO tblOrderLine (OrderID, OrderLine) VALUES (<OrderID #>, (SELECT MAX(OrderLine) FROM tblOrderLine WHERE orderID = <same OrderID #>)+1) any help would be nice.

FFMPEG Segfault Solutions

I'm trying to convert a bunch of movies into h.264 mp4's using FFMPEG. These movies are sourced from various portable camcorders such as the Flip Mino HD and the Kodak ZI8. One issue I'm having with video from the ZI8 is it seems to be causing FFMPEG to segfault. How to set up a wireless AP with a linux box and SOCKS proxy

I've got: (1) Linux box (Arch linux to be precise, but that doesn't really matter) (2) Ethernet connection on it (say, eth0) (3) Socks proxy on a remote site (say, remote :port), which can be accessed through (2) (4) Wireless card on local linux box (say, eth1) So, the task is: create a wireless access point using (4) on local site (1) in such a way that all connections from it will go through proxy (3). E.g., when one simply connects to that AP (well, there should be DHCP or something for that) and goes to serverfault.com, all the traffic goes through that SOCKS proxy. I'm just asking for the digging direction and some references, not step-by-step tutorial. Thanks in advance

SSL to SSL Redirects in IIS - Possible?

We have a situation where we would like to redirect https://service1.domain.com to https://service2.domain.com. I know this is very simple with http endpoints, but I'm not too sure about https. We have some legacy windows application web service clients that will not be updating their software version soon, and we cannot update their web references to https://service2.domain.com. Is there any way to leave these web service clients pointing to https://service1.domain.com, but have their requests forwarded to (and responded to by) https://service2.comain.com? The old server is running IIS 6.0. The new server is running IIS 7.0. We could probably upgrade it to 7.5 if needed, but I'm not certain. We could also probably make a seamless transition of the old web service to a new server using public DNS, but we cannot change the DNS name of "service1.domain.com." Thanks ServerFault!

COCOS2D - Animation Stops During Move

Hey guys! I am trying to run a "Walk" style animation on my main game sprite. The animations work fine, and my sprite is hooked up to my joystick all fine and dandy. However, I think where I setup the call for my walk animations are wrong. Because everytime the sprite is moving, the animation stops. I know putting the animation in such a weak if statement is probably bad, but please tell me how I could get my sprite to animate properly while it is being moved by the joystick. The sprite faces the right direction, so I can tell the action's first frame is being called, however, it doesn't animate until I stop touching my joystick. I'm having trouble figuring out how to set indexers in C# with Moq. How do I use a variable within an extended class public variable

Have a class that I am using, I am overriding variables in the class to change them to what values I need, but I also not sure if or how to handle an issue. I need to add a key that is generated to each of this URLs before the class calls them. However, what I want to express is that I want the Events where Data CONTAINS the word "Error" . . . how do I express that? I've Goggled around, but I can find no references to Regular Expression like pattern matching in the Event Viewer. XPath has "contains", but if Event Viewer will support it, I cannot seem to figure out the syntax for invoking it.

How do you set up redundant servers?

To the sysadmins out there, I'm trying to get an idea about how you go about maintaining redundant servers for small projects. The modest number of servers in my mind is two, and three main essential services come to mind: HTTP, mail and DNS. How do you automate this duplicity? Is rsync the tool of choice (again, for small projects)? In addition to common tools for these tasks, references to books and articles would be greatly appreciated. Mail Merge in Microsoft Word with images from Sharepoint

Is there any way of doing a Mail Merge in Microsoft Word 2007 taking data, including images from a Sharepoint site? It's a bit crude, but I've managed to merge text by taking the data off the sharepoint site as an Excel sheet and then merging that. My problem is what to do with the images. I can set references to the images up in the Sharepoint site, however all I can find is a way of Mail Merging when images are in the same folder as the document you are trying to Merge and I can't find a sensible automated way to pulls these images together into one single folder.

Disappearing Windows Explorer pinned items

This has happened twice now in three months: After rebooting, ALL the pinned items from my Windows Explorer taskbar jumplist are gone. Also, recent items from Windows Explorer are much fewer, only one or two if I remember correctly. After the first time I re-pinned the items I wanted, but about a month later it happened again. I re-pinned All other pinned items in other jumplists (e.g. Word) are fine and have never disappeared. Googling for the problem showed that ccleaner can affect this, but I personally do NOT use any cleaners or related progs on this machine. I also think that both times it happened it was after a windows update, although I can't recall what kind of update it was. After each time, Little Registry Editor showed invalid references in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RecentDocs , but I had NOT used it prior to the deletions. Any ideas on why this happens and how to prevent it?

Want to display a 3D model on the iPhone: how to get started?

I want to display and rotate a single 3D model, preferably textured, on the iPhone. Doesn't have to zoom in and out, or have a background, or anything. I have the following: an iPhone a MacBook the iPhone SDK Blender My knowledge base: I can make 3D models in various 3D programs (I'm most comfortable with 3D Studio Max, which I once took a course on, but I've used others) General knowledge of procedural programming from years ago (QuickBasic - I'm old!) Beginner's knowledge of object-oriented programming from going through simple Java and C# tutorials (Head Start C# book and my wife's intro to OOP course that used Java) I have managed to display a 3D textured model and spin it using a tutorial in C# I got off the net (I didn't just copy and paste, I understand basically how it works) and the XNA game development library, using Visual Studio on Windows. What I do not know: Much about Objective C Anything about OpenGL or OpenGL ES, which the iPhone apparently uses Anything about XCode My main problem is that I don't know where to start! All the iPhone books I found seem to be about creating GUI applications, not OpenGL apps. I found an OpenGL book but I don't know how much, if any, applies to iPhone development. And I find the Objective C syntax somewhat confusing, with the weird nested method naming, things like "id" that don't make sense, and the scary thought that I have to do manual memory management. Where is the best place to start? I couldn't find any tutorials for this sort of thing, but maybe my Google-Fu is weak. Or maybe I should start with learning Objective C? I know of books like Aaron Hillgrass', but I've also read that they are outdated and much of the sample code doesn't work on the iPhone SDK, plus it seems geared towards the Model-View-Controller paradigm which doesn't seem that suited for 3D apps. Basically I'm confused about what my first steps should be.

Can I ping via an arbitrary interface of a DD-WRT system?

There's a Linksys WRT54GL router with DD-WRT firmware (v23SP2). What I tried, as suggested here: ping -I vlan2 <address> ping 192.168.2.1 <address> In both cases ping simply exits with no error messages. Also, ping ignores many other parameters, again, by exiting silently. I failed to find any references that DD-WRT has a limited version of ping whatsoever. I also don't think it can be a permissions issue as mentioned here since the only user with DD-WRT is root. What's wrong?

Active Directory LDS Structure Best Practices

I'm looking for guidance in structuring an LDS directory and finding only best practices targeted at Domain Services. Does anyone here have references for the hierarchical structure we set up in the directory? I'm interested in small items, like whether to name the top node with "DC" tags or "O" tags, etc. E.g., should it be "DC=CompanyName,DC=local" when we're not actually using any specific domain? Shouldn't it be "O=CompanyName"? And I'm interested in whether this question is even worth considering.

BSOD when playing Portal 2 using ATI Radeon 4800 on H61M/U3S3 mobo

playing Portal 2 will always give me blue screen of death, usually after about 10 minutes of playing. BSOD references atikmpag.sys. I have tried several updates for graphics driver and through ATI Catalyst Center. I have updated the motherboard BIOS. My RAM is OK. Nothing changes. I had previously run the game fine, then I removed my video card to use on-board graphics once, and after re-installing the video card, I get this problem every time. Agile language for 2d game prototypes?

Occasionally ( read: when my fiancé allows ) I like to prototype different game or game-like ideas I have. Usually I use Java or C# (not xna yet) because they are the languages I have the most practice with. However I would like to learn something more suited to agile development; a language in which it would be easier to knock out quick prototypes. At my job I have recently been working with looser (weak/dynamically typed) languages, specifically python and groovy, and I think something similar would fit what I am looking for. So, my question is: What languages (and framework/engine) would be good for rapidly developing prototypes of 2d game concepts? A few notes: I don't need blazing fast bitcrunching performance. In this case I would strongly prefer ease of development over performance. I'd like to use a language with a healthy community, which to me means a fair amount of maintained 3rd party, libraries. I'd like the language to be cross-platform friendly, I work on a variety of different operating systems and would like something that is portable with minimum effort. I can't imagine myself using a language with out decent options for debugging and editor syntax highlighting support. Note: If you are aware of a Java or C# library/framework that you think streamlines producing game prototypes I open to learning something new for those languages too

How to fore Word to recompute image numbers?

I have a word document containing images and tables. These have captions which are numbered, like "Image 1-Example of something". Later on I decided to rearrange some of chapters of my document. However numbering of objects remained the same, so the first image is image 8, the second is image 3, etc. I want to force Word to recompute image numbering so first image in document would be image 1, the second - image 2, etc. Is that possible? Will references (added through cross reference feature) to those objects be updated?

Subdomain only accessible from one computer

I recently added a wildcard A record to my domain (*.root.com), mapping it to a certain elastic ip on AWS. I've configured apache to redirect all references to something.root.com to root.com, except for one specific "dev" subdomain, which is hosting its own site (a Django app, specifically). The Problem: This setup works perfectly for me on my computer. But on other computers around the office, it doesn't seem to work. Specifically, trying to visit dev.root.com gives an "unable to find server" error. Pinging dev.root.com gives a "cannot resolve hostname" error. The weird thing: pinging any other subdomain of root.com does work, from all machines. I would think this was all due to DNS propagation, except all the computers are behind the same office router, so how could that be the case? Any ideas?

How does one delete a directory filled with files and other subdirectory permanently, bypassing the trash, from the command line in OS X?

So my command line skills are a little rusty and I'm having trouble remembering the differences between the meanings of flags in different distro's os's. I also don't really remember all my technical lingo so manpages seem really unclear. Basically I'm on Mac OS X and want to delete a directory along with all of its contents. What I'm mainly concerned about, I suppose, is that it'll delete literally ALL of the references within the directory, including ../ and ../<everything else, including ../'s own ../> and then just totally screw up my entire system. Which of these do I want to run? $ rm -R dir-name/ or $ rm -r

IPv6 in a Small Business

I’ve been tasked to identify a new server and IT equipment for the company I work for (employees <20). I’m looking at getting a SBS 2011 Standard box. My Question is: Apart from ensuring that our router is IPv6 compliant, is there anything else I need to do/investigate to ensure that we won’t have IPv6 related problems in the future? When investigating this I can only find references to DNS Mangers etc. The SBS 2011 box will be used for exchange and remote log in access – it won’t be hosting any websites. Also will VOIP phone systems be affected by IPv6? (We are running a rather old VOIP system, would that need to be updated?

Using 64 bit wuauclt from 32 bit command prompt

I have a script that for legacy reasons needs to run inside a 32 bit command shell. This script also includes references to certain core windows binaries - most notably wuauclt but others as well - which are not accessible by default within the 32 bit environment. This script is being run in several locations including many windows 7 and server 2008 r2 boxes. I'm aware of the possibility to copy files from the system32 to syswow64 in order to get around this. Is there any better method - something along the lines of adding an entry to the path variable - which will allow me to fall back to these 64 bit binaries from within a 32 bit script?

Corrupt mysql system tables

I am having issues with the columns_priv table in the mysql system database. I cannot add new users currently. I have tried repairing it using mysqlcheck --auto-repair --all-databases --password but I get the following output: mysql.columns_priv Error : Incorrect file format 'columns_priv' error : Corrupt Is there any other way to repair this table, or how do I go about replacing it with a blank table? What would I lose by doing that? Thank you Edit (Additional Info) mysqld is currently using 100% cpu constantly. Filter data in sheets from a master sheet

I have a 'master sheet' with lots of furniture data in it, in column A there are the suppliers names. What I would like is to be able to have my master sheet with all the info and then sub sheets named by supplier; in these sub sheets I would like to reference the master sheet and pull out all of the items that are from that supplier. For example: I would have a sheet called 'Ikea' which would look in the master sheet and search the A column for all entries of 'Ikea'. If present, copy or reference that row 1:12 in the 'ikea' sheet. I would like to do it all dynamically using references rather than copying the data. Also, I would like it to auto update rather than having to run a macro to recalculate it each time. Can this be done with formulars rather than macros?

Using the same code in different (partial) views

Maybe this question is quite simple because I'm new to MVC2. I have a simple demo MVC project. (1) A weak-typed view: Index.aspx <% Html.RenderPartial("ArticalList", ViewData["AllArticals"] as List<Artical>); %> (2) A strong-typed partical view: ArticalList.ascx <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<List<Artical>>" %> <% foreach (Artical a in Model) { %> <%= Html.ActionLink(a.Title, "About", new { id = a.ID })%><br /> <%} %> (3) Here is the HomeController.cs public ActionResult Index() { ViewData["AllArticals"] = Artical.GetArticals(); return View(); } public ActionResult ArticalList() { return PartialView(Artical.GetArticals()); } Sorry I'm using a Web-Form "angle", because if I'm using a Web-Form, when I visit Index.aspx, rendering ArticalList.ascx will call public ActionResult ArticalList(). But here I need to write Artical.GetArticals() twice in two actions. How can I put them in one?

Software that will burn DVDs with a SFV or Pararchive file for each disc?

I'd like to burn several thousand RAW files (.DNG) of around 10-30 MB each to DVD to backup my photo archive. I'm looking for software that can do this and include an SFV-type file on each disc burnt. These are my requirements: compression is optional, and probably not desirable due to the extra time involved files should be spread amongst the discs as self-contained units, i.e. I don't want to have to load files from more than one disc to be able to read the files on that disc, so that excludes WinRAR's spanning options I don't want to spend time writing ISO images first as this will be a task I'll need to repeat often as I add new images to my archive - the software should write to the DVDs for me as simply as possible I'd like the SFV/Pararchive/recovery record to be stored with the files on each disc, so it only references the files on that particular disk Thanks in advance!
