  Hi, I am using the below script to output data to a csv file: set heading off set linesize 10000 set pagesize 0 set echo off set verify off spool D:\OVERNIGHT\TEMP_FILES\PFRA_DETAIL_VIXEN_OUTPUT.txt SELECT TRIM(T4.S_ORG_ID)||','|| TRIM(T4.NAME)||','|| TRIM(T3.CREATION_TIME)||','|| TRIM(T5.X_HOUSE_NUMBER)||','|| TRIM(T5.X_FLAT_NUMBER)||','|| TRIM(T5.ADDRESS)||','|| TRIM(T5.CITY)||','|| TRIM(T5.ZIPCODE)||','|| TRIM(T3.NOTES) FROM TABLE_CASE T1 INNER JOIN TABLE_QUEUE T2 ON T1.CASE_CURRQ2QUEUE = T2.OBJID INNER JOIN TABLE_PHONE_LOG T3 ON T1.OBJID = T3.CASE_PHONE2CASE INNER JOIN TABLE_BUS_ORG T4 ON T1.X_CASE2X_BUS_ORG = T4.OBJID INNER JOIN TABLE_ADDRESS T5 ON T1.CASE2ADDRESS = T5.OBJID WHERE case_currq2queue IN(422); / spool off; exit; However the data is being truncated to 80 characters. • What is a practical, real world example of the Linked List?

  I understand the definition of a Linked List, but how can it be represented and related to a common concept or item? For example, inheritance in OOP can be related to automobiles. All (most) automobiles in real life are the essentially same thing; an automobile has an Engine, you can start() it, you can make the car go(), stop() and so on. An automobile would typically have a maximum passenger capacity but it would differ between a Bus and a SportsCar, which are both automobiles. Is there some real life, intuitive example of the plain ole' singly Linked List like we have with inheritance? The typical textbook Linked List example shows a node with an integer and a pointer to the next, and it just doesn't seem very useful. Your input is appreciated.

• SQLAlchemy automatically converts str to unicode on commit

  Hello, When inserting an object into a database with SQLAlchemy, all it's properties that correspond to String() columns are automatically transformed from <type 'str'> to <type 'unicode'>. Is there a way to prevent this behavior?   Anyone know of a script (php, python, perl, bash, whatever) that will convert a stylesheet from px to em? Like, it would take input of the filename and base font-size (default 16) and convert all px instances to em? eg: convertpx2ems --file stylesheet.css --base-font-size 16 would convert this: button { font-size:14px; padding:8px 19px 9px; } to something like this: button { font-size: .875em; padding: .5em 1.188em .563em; } ...maybe, is there a way to do this with sass?

  Hello, I have a form which uses validators for its fields. These validators can send back either Severity.SEVERITY_ERROR or Severity.SEVERITY_WARN messages, as illustrated: if (!isInMainFamily) { FacesMessage message = new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_WARN, "You should make sure to tag your competency in at least one main category", null); throw new ValidatorException(message); } However, SEVERITY_WARN messages are not blocking for me. They are just a way to tell the user they should correct their input, but won't prevent them from submitting the form and saving their data. However, it seems that throwing any kind of ValidatorException flags the FacesContext as "validationFailed", which then prevents the submission of the form. Is there a way to get around this? Or am I misunderstanding something? Thanks a lot for your help, Sébastien

• ServerControl randomly null

  Hi, I got a master page with a server control in it. Randomly the server control is inaccessible from codebehind. This doesn't happen on a specific action (eg a Button click or so). Currently I have no clue what this could be. I don't think it's output caching since this is not explcitly activated and the error happens far to seldom for that. But I'm going to disable caching in the master page explicitly with next deployment. Anyone an idea how to find more info to find what's happening? Or has someone had a similar error? Thanks. sa

  I'm new to Python... and coming from a mostly Java background, if that accounts for anything. I'm trying to understand polymorphism in Python. Maybe the problem is that I'm expecting the concepts I already know to project into Python. But I put together the following test code: class animal(object): "empty animal class" class dog(animal): "empty dog class" myDog = dog() print myDog.__class__ is animal print myDog.__class__ is dog From the polymorphism I'm used to (e.g. java's instanceof), I would expect both of these statements to print true, as an instance of dog is an animal and also is a dog. But my output is: False True What am I missing?

• Merge two bytes in java/android

  Hi, I have a frame of 22 bytes. The frame is the input stream from an accelerometer via bluetooth. The acceleromter readings are a 16 bit number split over two bytes. When i try to merge the bytes with buffer[1] + buffer[2], rather than adding the bytes, it just puts the results side by side. so 1+2 = 12. Could someone tell me how to combine these two bytes to obtain the original number. (btw the bytes are sent little endian) Thanks

  Is it possible for a PostgreSQL plpgsql function to not return anything? I've created a function, and I don't need it to return anything at all, as it performs a complex SQL query, and inserts the results of that query into another table (SELECT INTO ....). Thus, I have no need or interest in having the function return any output or value. Unfortunately, when I try to omit the RETURN clause of the function declaration, I can't create the function. Is it possible for a PostgreSQL plpgsql function to not return anything?

  Hello! I'm stuck on a problem and, after what seems like days of searching for a solution, I'm reaching out to Stack Overflow for help. I'm trying to replace a standard dropdown form element with a Textbox and a Div containing an unordered list. I'd prefer to have the solution be based on jQuery, but am open to alternatives. I've found a couple jQuery plugins that -almost- do what I need, but are far enough from being a real solution that I need to keep looking. Here's an image of what I'm going for: I'd like the dropdown to look as pictured, and when an element is selected (with mouse or keyboard), have just the first line handed back into the textbox (and not be editable). I'd also like to populate a hidden input field with a value that will be used on Submit. I'm pulling my hair out over this one. Any help and guidance will be most appreciated! Thanks! ~PF

  Hi, I've written a program in C++. It's just using the console to have it as portable as possible. Unfortunately, many Windows-Users seem not to understand how to use the program (Linux Users are just fine with it :) ). So I'd like to write a GUI for that program. As this needs to run on Windows only, I'd like to write it in C#. But I want to maintain the GUI apart from the original program. So basically, I need a way to include a compiled *.exe into another program. Is there a way to catch the console output from another program and send inputs to it? • Use a grepped file as an included source in bash

  I'm on a shared webhost where I don't have permission to edit the global bash configuration file at /ect/bashrc. Unfortunately there is one line in the global file, mesg y, which puts the terminal in tty mode and makes scp and similar commands unavailable. My local ~./bashrc includes the global file as a source, like so: # Source global definitions if [ -f /etc/bashrc ]; then . /etc/bashrc fi My current workaround uses grep to output the global file, sans offending line, into a local file and use that as a source. # Source global definitions if [ -f /etc/bashrc ]; then grep -v mesg /etc/bashrc > ~/.bash_global . ~/.bash_global fi Is there a way to do include a grepped file like this without the intermediate step of creating an actual file? But if it was a method, why would it begin with a capital letter and has no return data type?
