    Hi guys! <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Test</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/GetContacts*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> I got a simple problem where I can't find any solution on the internet. I have a ajax calls that have the url http://localhost:80/Push/GetContacts?id=23..... The above servlet mapping is not correct for the AJAX call. it issues a http 404 not found call. What is the right syntax to enable my ajax call?

  • "Zoom" text to be as big as possible within constraints/box

    First problem: You have 400 pixels width to go on, and need to fit some text within that constraint as large as possible (thus, the text shall use that amount of space). Throw in a new constraint: If the text is just "A", then it shall not zoom this above 100 pixels (or some specific font size). Then, a final situation: Linebreaks. Fit some text in the largest possible way within e.g. 400 x 150 pixels. An obvious way is to simply start with point 1, and then increase until you can't fit it anymore. This would work for all three problems, but would be very crude. The fitting of a single line within bounds could be done by writing it with some fixed point size, check the resulting pixel bounds of the text, and then simply scale it with a transform (the text scales properly too then, check out TransformUI). Any ideas of other ways to attack this would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello, I am having a form and many input elements in that. I want certain fields to be validated, so i keep validateLenth etc on those. And i want some fields to not be validated. For example, i have contact information and address information both on the same page. I want to treat contact information as one group. So if some fields are invalid they should not be submitted and address information to be independent of contact information. Thus, if address information is corrected it should be submitted. I have one form only on the page but two buttons, one for address and one for contact. Simply put :- What is the equivalent of validationGroup of Asp.Net in JSF?

  • Deploy to web container, bundle web container or embed web container...

    I am developing an application that needs to be as simple as possible to install for the end user. While the end users will likely be experience Linux users (or sales engineers), they don't really know anything about Tomcat, Jetty, etc, nor do I think they should. So I see 3 ways to deploy our applications. I should also state that this is the first app that I have had to deploy that had a web interface, so I haven't really faced this question before. First is to deploy the application into an existing web container. Since we only deploy to Suse or RedHat this seems easy enough to do. However, we're not big on the idea of multiple apps running in one web container. It makes it harder to take down just one app. The next option is to just bundle Tomcat or Jetty and have the startup/shutdown scripts launch our bundled web container. Or 3rd, embed.. This will probably provide the same user experience as the second option. I'm curious what others do when faced with this problem to make it as fool proof as possible on the end user. I've almost ruled out deploying into an existing web container as we often like to set per application resource limits and CPU affinity, which I believe would affect all apps deployed into a web container/app server and not just a specific application.     Hi, I am having trouble parsing self closing XML tags using SAX. I am trying to extract the link tag from the Google Base API.I am having reasonable success in parsing regular tags.   • Multivalue Mysql Inserts using HibernateTemplate

    I am using Spring HibernateTemplate and need to insert hundreds of records into a mysql database every second. Not sure what is the most performant way of doing it, but I am trying to see how the multi value mysql inserts do using hibernate. String query = "insert into user(age, name, birth_date) values(24, 'Joe', '2010-05-19 14:33:14'), (25, 'Joe1', '2010-05-19 14:33:14')" getHibernateTemplate().execute(new HibernateCallback(){ public Object doInHibernate(Session session) throws HibernateException, SQLException { return session.createSQLQuery(query).executeUpdate(); } }); But I get this error: 'could not execute native bulk manipulation query.' Please check your query ..... Any idea of I can use a multi value mysql insert using Hibernate? or is my query incorrect? Any other ways that I can improve the performance? I did try the saveOrUpdateAll() method, and that wasn't good enough!

  • How do i set the Transaction Isolation in EJB?

    Hello, I am not able to find a way to set TransactionIsolation in ejb. Can anybody tell me how do i set it? I am using persistence. I have looked the following classes : EntityManager , EntityManagerFactory, UserTransaction. None of them seems to have any method like setTransactionIsolation or such. Do we need to change persistence.xml? I just read a book named Mastering EJB 3.0 4th edition. They gave a full 10 page theory about Isolation level that this problems occur and that occurs and such things but at the end they gave this paragraph :- "As we now know, the EJB standard does not deal with isolation levels directly, and rightly so. EJB is a component specification. It defines the behavior and contracts of a business component with clients and middleware infrastructure (containers) such that the component can be rendered as various middleware services properly. EJBs therefore are transactional components that interact with resource managers, such as the JDBC resource manager or JMS resource manager, via JTS, as part of a transaction. They are not, hence, resource components in themselves. Since isolation levels are very specific to the behavior and capabilities of the underlying resources, they should therefore be specified at the resource API levels. " What exactly does it mean? What is meant by resource level APIs? Please help me. If persistence has no way to set Isolation Level then why do they give such huge theory in an EJB book and make it heavy in weight unnecessarily :(

  • Displaying an Image in an activity using URI

    Hi, I'm writing an application that uses Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE) to capture and image. On the process of capturing the image, I noted the output of the image's URI. Right after finishing the camera activity, I wish to display the image using this specific URI. The method I used to capture images is: private void saveFullImage() { Intent intent = new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE); File file = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(), "test.jpg"); outputFileUri = Uri.fromFile(file); intent.putExtra(MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT, outputFileUri); startActivityForResult(intent, TAKE_PICTURE); } Which is a method taken from Reto Meier's book Professional Android 2 Application Development. The method works fine, and I assume that the URI of the picture I just took is stored in the outputFileUri variable. Then at this point of the code is where I want to display the picture: @Override protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { if (requestCode == TAKE_PICTURE) { //I want to display the picture I just took here //using the URI } } I'm not sure how to do it. I tried creating a new layout object and a new ImageView object using the method setImageURI(outputFileUri). My main layout (xml) did not have a ImageView object. But even when I set the contentView to the new layout with the ImageView attached to it, it doesn't display anything. I tried creating a Bitmap object from the URI and set it to the ImageView, but I get an unexpected error and forced exit. I have seen examples from here here which creates a Bitmap from URI, but it's not displaying it? My question is just how to display an image in the middle of a running activity? Do I need to get the File Path (like this) in order to display it? If I make a Bitmap out of the URI, how do I display the Bitmap? I'm just probably missing something simple...so any help would be a greatly appreciated! Also additional question for thought: If I were to take multiple pictures, would you recommend me to use the SimpleCursorAdapter instead? Thanks!

    I got a very weird problem and a weird solution: class Parent { protected void aProtectedMethod() { doSomething(); } } class Child extends Parent { void anotherMethod() { new SomeInterface() { public void interfaceMethod() { aProtectedMethod(); } }; } } When child.anotherMethod() is run, I got IllegalAccessException at myProtectedMethod(), saying my inner class doesn't have access to the Parent class... However, if I add: protected void aProtectedMethod() { super.aProtectedMethod(); } in my Child class, everything is fine... I wonder why this is?

  • I have to make a simple app that connects devices in a network, but I have no idea of how to this

    I want to write an App for android that has only one ListView. The App will constantly search for anything (mobile devices, desktops, etc.) that is connected in the wifi network. The problem is, I have no idea how to do this. What do I need to study? I comprehend I'd need to use a Thread or a Runnable to constantly search for those devices. Also I know very little about TCP, UDP or any internet protocols. So, can someone give me a basis of what I need to learn to develop this App?

  • Compound Primary Key in Hibernate using Annotations

    Hi, I have a table which uses two columns to represent its primary key, a transaction id and then the sequence number. I tried what was recommended http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/stable/annotations/reference/en/html_single/#entity-mapping in section 2.2.3.2.2, but when I used the Hibernate session to commit this Entity object, it leaves out the TXN_ID field in the insert statement and only includes the BA_SEQ field! What's going wrong?     Given a fully qualified class name, and a number of dimensions, i would like to get the Class name for this class. I believe i can do this like such public Class<?> getArrayClass(String className, int dimensions) throws ClassNotFoundException { Class<?> elementType = Class.forName(className); return Array.newInstance(elementType, new int[dimensions]).getClass(); } However this requires me to create an unneeded instance of the class. Is there a way to do this without creating the instance? It does not appear that Class.forName("[[[[Ljava/lang/String;") (or a algorithmically generated version) works correctly in all instances from various blog posts i've seen.

  • Please help me to allow my `JTable` to search the text even the table is in editable mode on key-press

    If user starts pressing keys using keyboards then JTable is supposed to be searched the matching text for him and if user double clicks on cell then Table should allow him to edit the text. And the issue is - Table is only searching text when the table is in non-editable mode and if Table is editable and user starts typing the text-using keyboard, cell is allowing him to edit the cell rather then search. Mr mKorbel has just solved my issue to allow edit only if double click on Table cell. Please help me to allow my JTable to search the text even the table is in editable mode on key-press.
