• Creating an Excel Template for different data size

  I created an excel template for a file i've done for a routine work calculation. The file takes data from the data logger and does some analysis on it and outputs one number regardless of the input size. The problem I'm having is i have to modify the sheet to suit the number of rows, as everyday the data logger outputs a different number of rows. there are about 15 sheets in the workbook and it's annoying to have to change everyone of them everyday. What i'd like to do input the data logger csv, and boom the result gets outputted. Is there a way through vba or not to ahieve

• After MS Access Conversion 97 --> 2002 I get 'Enter Parameter Value' when exitting a form.

  Hi, So when I exit a form from my newly converted .mdb it asks to Enter Parameter Value. It goes through (ie if i enter a value, it asks for another) the values required for a query that is run on a List Box on the page. The query has not been changed during the conversion. The values it is getting for the query are from text boxes on the same form. There are a few Requeries in the form (run from VB) so I imagine that it is rerunning again on Exit (although this isnt explicit in the form properties). I'm not quite sure how to go about solving this. Your help would be great. Thanks

What I need to do is combine these columns of data into one big column. I do not care if there are duplicate entries, however I want it to skip row 1 of each column.   In the following AccessVBA code, I am trying to write a record to a memo field called "Recipient_Display": oRec1.Fields("RECIPIENT_DISPLAY") = Left(sRecipientDisplayNames, Len(sRecipientDisplayNames) - 2) When the string contains 2036 characters, the write completes. Above this number I get the following error: Run-time error'-2147217887(80040e21)': Could not update; currently locked by another session on this machine. What is the significance of this number 2036 and is there a property I can adjust that will allow the above update to take place?

• Ms Excel Problem Linking Range in Source Document to Custom Function in Target Document

  I have some customer MS Excel VBA code (MS Excel 2007) that takes a range as input and then does some work on it (it is quite a large range). I want to use a separate excel document as the source of the range data. If I have both the source and target document open then the function works just fine. If I have only the target document open I get #Value! returned and stepping through in the debugger I see "Error 2023" in the data value passed in. Any ideas how I make this work without having to open both spreadsheets simultaneously?

Do this external code get packaged with the spreadsheet what if people start emailing the spreadsheet around. Is there any overhead of this additional assemblies. Is there risk of the binaries getting detached from the spreadsheet It seems like microsoft has been pushing VSTO for over 5 years now but you read lots of mixed reviews and issues. Are we at the point where companies that do large VBA excel solutions can fully migrate over to dotnet without any real worries?

• Excel + Web Data

  I've spent hours scouring the net for anything to do with VBA calling data from the web in excel and nothing provides a tutorial on how to do so, only complicated examples un-related to what I want to do. I want to pull data from either a .html or .xml site, doesn't matter, via Excel and find specific points in that data. I can find specific points but don't know how to get the data or scroll through multiple lines. I've done this exact sort of thing in mIRC (sort of C code). http://eve-central.com/home/quicklook.html?typeid=438 http://api.eve-central.com/api/quicklook?typeid=438 Those are two examples, using roughly the same data I'd like to retrieve. It'd be FAR more specific with at most 100 or so different values. I'd like to be TAUGHT how to do it, not given the code to do it, or if you must explain each part with comments in-depth please.   I have a macro which can read the last cell/column of all tables in a Word 2003/2007 document and store the data in an MS-Access table. But, some Word documents have the data in structures like a table format but are not actually tables. The structure looks like a table, but the table borders are actually line connectors. These documents were created by a software(VeryPDF PDF to Word converter) which converted the PDF documents(the original format these documents were) into Word documents. Is there a way I can convert/replace the tabular structures with actual tables in Word so that I can use the macro? Or, is there a way I can read the value of the last column from the tabular structures using some VBA code? Any advice would be appreciated.

  I have a multi page spread sheet in excel that needs to read information dynamically from columns on other pages and have these values show up on a main page. Is there a way to do this as an excel formula or with excel-VBA? Edit: I also tried CP* (* being a wildcard character) and it didn't work. Edit2: Is there a way to match the value where the 'CP' is placed with its a other columns value?

• How to stop Excel from firing Worksheet_Change before Workbook_BeforeSave?

  Update: Issue Resolved A colleague of mine was changing a cell during Workbook_BeforeSave() without disabling events, therefore triggering Worksheet_Change(). Yes, silly, but at least it's our fault, not Excel's I've noticed that whenever I hit Ctrl+S in Excel, the Worksheet_Change() is fired before Workbook_BeforeSave(). Is it possible to supress this behaviour using VBA code, but without supressing all events (i.e. without Application.EnableEvents = false)? This happens regardless of what I'm doing. I've read about someone having a similar issue with ComboBoxes, but I'm not editing ComboBoxes, yet Worksheet_Change() fires always before saving. Any ideas? I'm only trying to figure out how to bypass some code inside Worksheet_Change() when the document is saved, because that code is only supposed to be executed when the user actually changes something, not when the workbook is saved. Saving is by no means changing...

  I have a class with a protected method Zig::punt() and I only want it to be accessible to the class "Avocado". In C++, you'll normally do this using the "friend Avocado" specifier, but this will cause all of the other variables to become accessible to "Avocado" class; I don't want this because this breaks encapsulation. Is what I want impossible, or does there already exist an obscure trick out there that I can use to achieve what I want? Or possibly alternative class design patterns that'll achieve the same thing? • Activate first workbook after closing second one?

  Open workbook A. Code in A opens workbook B. B is now the active WB. Code in B ends with ThisWorkBook.Close B closes, so A appears. Problem is, I can't get ANY Activate events in WB A to fire automatically after WB B closes. But if I close WB B manually, using mouse to 'x' out the WB, or via the menus, then WB A triggers Activate events. Somehow using VBA to close WB B prevents WB A Activate events from triggering. Same results in Excel 97 and 2003 Am I missing something, or is there a workaround?? Thanks! John

  Hi, I have 54 excel files with three sheets each, each sheet has a different amount of data entries but they are set out in a identical format, and I need to import the data from those sheets into a single workbook using VBA. Is there any way I can program it so I can build the loops to import the data, but without having to write in each workbook name for each loop/sheet? • Site Security/Access management for asp.net mvc application

  I am trying to find a good pattern to use for user access validation. Basically on a webforms application I had a framework which used user roles to define access, ie, users were assigned into roles, and "pages" were granted access to a page. I had a table in the database with all the pages listed in it. Pages could have child pages that got their access inherited from the parent. When defining access, I assigned the roles access to the pages. Users in the role then had access to the pages. It is fairly simple to manage as well. The way I implemented this was on a base class that every page inherited. On pageload/init I would check the page url and validate access and act appropriately. However I am now working on a MVC application and need to implement something similar, however I can't find a good way to make my previous solution work. Purely because I don't have static pages as url paths. Also I am not sure how best to approach this as I now have controllers rather then aspx pages. I have looked at the MVCSitemapprovider, but that does not work off a database, it needs a sitemap file. I need control of changing user persmissions on the fly. Any thoughts/suggestions/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

OAM Upgrade Steps Overview Pre-Req : You already have a OAM 11g Installed Upgrade Step 1: Configure User Store & Make it Primary Upgrade Step 2: Create Policy Domain , this is dome by UA automatically Upgrade Step 3: Migrate Partners : This is done by running Upgrade Assistant Verify successful Upgrade Details on UA step : To Upgrade the existing OSSO 10g servers to OAM server , this is done by running the UA script in OAM , which copies over all the partner app details from osso to OAM 11g , run_ua.sh is the script name which will ask you to input the Policies.properties from SSO $OH/sso/config folder of osso 10g & other variables like db password . Some pointers Upgrading oso to Oam 11g , by default enables the coexistence mode on the OAM Server Front-end the OAM server with the same Load Balancer that is the front end of the OSSO 10g servers. Now, OAM and OSSO 10g servers are working in a co-exist mode. OAM 11g is made to understand 10g OSSO Token format and session handling capabilities so as to co-exist with 10g OSSO servers./li How to test ? • Improving the performance of a db import process

  I have a program in Microsoft Access that processes text and also inserts data in MySQL database. This operation takes 30 mins or less to finished. I translated it into VB.NET and it takes 2 hours to finish. The program goes like this: A text file contains individual swipe from a corresponding person, it contains their id, time and date of swipe in the machine, and an indicator if it is a time-in or a time-out. I process this text, segregate the information and insert the time-in and time-out per row. I also check if there are double occurrences in the database. After checking, I simply merge the time-in and time-out of the corresponding person into one row only. This process takes 2 hours to finished in VB.NET considering I have a table to compare which contains 600,000+ rows. Now, I read in the internet that python is best in text processing, i already have a test but i doubt in database operation. What do you think is the best programming language for this kind of problem? How can I speed up the process? My first idea was using python instead of VB.NET, but since people here telling me here on SO that this most probably won't help I am searching for different solutions.

• Why does my MySQL remote-connection fail (VLAN)?

  ubuntu-community! Again I have a problem with my special friend MySQL :D I have got two servers - a database-server and a web-server - who are connected via VLAN. Now I want the web-server to have remote access to the database-server's MySQL. So I created the user user in mysql.user. user's Host is xxx.yyy.zzz.9 which is the internal IP-address of the web-server. xxx.yyy.zzz.0 is the network. I also created user with Host % . As long as I use MySQL on the database-server logging in as user, everything works fine. But trying to log in as user from xxx.yyy.zzz.9 using mysql -h xxx.yyy.zzz.8 -u user -p (where xxx.yyy.zzz.8 is the database-server's internal IP), I get ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'xxx.yyy.zzz.8' (110) So I tried to activate Bind-Address in the my.cnf file. Well, if I use xxx.yyy.zzz.8, nothing changes. But if I try xxx.yyy.zzz.9 and try to restart MySQL, I get mysql stop/waiting start: Job failed to start I checked the log files and found - nothing. The database-server's MySQL doesn't even register, that the web-server tries to connect remotely. My idea is, that maybe I didn't configure the VLAN properley, even though I asked someone who actually knows such stuff and he told me, I did everything right.   I have system which is equipped with Intel Celeron processor 1.1 GHz s370 with 384 Mb of RAM on Intel d815egew motherboard which supports wake-on-lan function. I want to use such a PC for Internet sharing to the local network. Also this PC is a DHCP+DNS server as well as router/gateway. Based on above I decided to install Lubuntu as it is lightweight system. I installed Lubuntu 10.04.4 LTS from alternate ISO. System has no auto login. System boots and has acceptable performance. Host PC has onboard 4 network adapters: eth0 – ethernet controller which is used for Local Network connections. Has static address 10.0.0.1 eth1 – ethernet controller which is not used and not configured so far, I plan to connect printer here later on. eth2 - ethernet controller which is used to connect to Internet, which we plan to share for the local network wlan0 – wireless controller, it is used in role of access poit for local Network and has address 10.0.0.2 We want to control our gateway remotely. So, we need to be able to power it on remotely. To allow this I’ve done the following things: $ cd /etc/init.d/ made a new file with command $ sudo vim wakeonlanconfig Wrote the following lines to the newly created file, saved and closed it #!/bin/bash ethtool -s eth0 wol g ethtool -s eth2 wol g exit Made the abovementioned file executable $ sudo chmod a+x wakeonlanconfig Then included it into autostart sequence during boot. $ sudo update-rc.d -f wakeonlanconfig defaults after system reboot we will be able to poweron system remotely. Than we need to have a possibility to connect remotely to the host via SSH and VNC. So, I installed following packets with the following commands: $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install openssh-server tightvncserver Add ssh daemon into autostart sequence during boot. $ sudo update-rc.d -f ssh defaults Power off the host PC $ sudo halt Then I went to remote place, send magic paket and powered the Host up. System started... And I connected to the host via Putty from remote system under Windows. Than logged in and run the command to start vnc server. $ tightvncserver -geometry 800x600 -depth 16 :2 VNC server successfully started and I got message like follows. New 'X' desktop is gateway:2 Starting applications specified in /home/dolv/.vnc/xstartup Log file is /home/dolv/.vnc/gateway:2.log Using UltraVNC Viewer programm under windows I connected to the host's vnc server, enterd the password and.... sow only mouse cursor in form of cross on a grey background of 800x600 dots, no desktop. Here is my .vnc/xstartup file #!/bin/sh xrdb $HOME/.Xresources xsetroot -solid grey #x-terminal-emulator -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" & #x-window-manager & # Fix to make GNOME work export XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE=1 /etc/X11/Xsession The Question: What I have to change and where to make LXDE session start automatically after tightvncserver starts?

Oracle Identity Manager and Oracle Identity Analytics are now offered as part of Oracle Identity Governance Suite. OIA and OIM share a common UI architecture, common data model and common support for connected and disconnected resources.  When requesting new access/entitlements is there an approval process? Yes. We leverage SOA BPEL-based workflows for approvals  Are the identity self service capabilities based on Oracle ADF? Yes they are completely based on Oracle ADF  Can you give some examples of personalization and customization with Oracle Identity Manager 11gR2? With the new UI config framework we can enable different levels of UI customization. Customers now have the ability to Point & click to customize; or drag and drop customization without any need for coding. So users can easily personalize the interface of their application within the browser. For example, they can change the logo, Rearrange, hide Home Page regions; regularly searched items can be saved and re-used; Searchable & search results columns can be configured; Sorting preferences are remembered and so on. For more sophisticated customization, Customers can also edit the standard JSF within the page to alter business rules, modify page flows, page layouts and other items.
