    I have only JTabbedPane inside JFrame. JTabbedPane sets its dimensions to biggest page width/height.   • Is there a client-side way to prevent an image from being cached?

    Is it possible to control with javascript whether a browser goes to the server for an image or to the browser cache? Can I force the browser to make a server call when it would otherwise use a cached image? I know I can simply append a query string to my image url, but, if I understand correctly, that works because the browser sees that as a new image. I want the old image to be replaced in the cache.

    I've got a UIWebView which starts off with the scalesPagesToFit property set to YES. This loads up the page and scales it fine. When the user taps a button I want to turn off the scaling and show the page full size but I'm struggling to figure out how to force the page to redraw. I specifically do not want to refresh the page (ie fetch it from the server again) just redraw the page that has already been downloaded. I've tried setNeedsLayout and setNeedsDisplay but neither of these work

I have "iexplore.exe" set to 8888 (decimal mode) under MACHINE, but it's still coming up documentMode = 5. I thought 8888 was suppose to force IE8 Standards Mode whether you have a doctype or not. What is going on?

    If I do something like: result = Appointment.find( :all, :include => :staff ) logger.debug { result.inspect } then it only prints out the Appointment data, and not the associated staff data. If I do result[0].staff.inpsect then I get the staff data of course. The problem is I want to return this to AJAX as JSON, including the staff rows. How do I force it to include the staff rows, or do I have to loop through and create something manually?

    This may be a dumb question but it seems like activateIgnoringOtherApps: may be the only way to activate an app using Cocoa. I have a java app that loads up a Cocoa app and I want the Cocoa app to be activated when this happens. The problem is I do not want to have to launch an intermediate app (some sort of controller) and use this app to activateIgnoringOtherApps: my other Cocoa app. Is there some way to use activateIgnoringOtherApps: to force my Cocoa app to become active?

    When I compile something on my Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 PC it gets linked against glibc. Lucid uses 2.11 of glibc. When I run this binary on another PC with an older glibc, the command fails saying there's no glibc 2.11... As far as I know glibc uses symbol versioning. Can I force gcc to link against a specific symbol version? In my concret use I try to compile a gcc cross toolchain for ARM.

    Hello, I am repeatedly drawing to an offscreen bitmap context non-destructivly on iphone. Right now the only way I have figured out to get it to display is to update the drawRect of my UIView with the contents of the context. This runs really slow and seems unnecessary. I have tried to force it to refresh by: NestedArguments.GetBindingExpression(ItemsControl.ItemsSourceProperty).UpdateTarget(); But still, no luck! YES, it does get updated. I have set a breakpoint and checked. What is going on? Other bindings seem to work without a problem

    How do you limit the result set of a mapped collection in nHibernate? For instance: Model.Items; will always return all the Items for the given Model. Is there any way to force it to return only, say, 20 Items without creating a specific query ? Something like Model.Items.SetMaxResults(20); In other words, I would like nHibernate to return IQueryable instead of a simple IList, when I access a collection.
