  • Search multiple datepicker on same grid

    - by DHF
    I'm using multiple datepicker on same grid and I face the problem to get a proper result. I used 3 datepicker in 1 grid. Only the first datepicker (Order Date)is able to output proper result while the other 2 datepicker (Start Date & End Date) are not able to generate proper result. There is no problem with the query, so could you find out what's going on here? Thanks in advance! php wrapper <?php ob_start(); require_once 'config.php'; // include the jqGrid Class require_once "php/jqGrid.php"; // include the PDO driver class require_once "php/jqGridPdo.php"; // include the datepicker require_once "php/jqCalendar.php"; // Connection to the server $conn = new PDO(DB_DSN,DB_USER,DB_PASSWORD); // Tell the db that we use utf-8 $conn->query("SET NAMES utf8"); // Create the jqGrid instance $grid = new jqGridRender($conn); // Write the SQL Query $grid->SelectCommand = "SELECT c.CompanyID, c.CompanyCode, c.CompanyName, c.Area, o.OrderCode, o.Date, m.maID ,m.System, m.Status, m.StartDate, m.EndDate, m.Type FROM company c, orders o, maintenance_agreement m WHERE c.CompanyID = o.CompanyID AND o.OrderID = m.OrderID "; // Set the table to where you update the data $grid->table = 'maintenance_agreement'; // set the ouput format to json $grid->dataType = 'json'; // Let the grid create the model $grid->setPrimaryKeyId('maID'); // Let the grid create the model $grid->setColModel(); // Set the url from where we obtain the data $grid->setUrl('grouping_ma_details.php'); // Set grid caption using the option caption $grid->setGridOptions(array( "sortable"=>true, "rownumbers"=>true, "caption"=>"Group by Maintenance Agreement", "rowNum"=>20, "height"=>'auto', "width"=>1300, "sortname"=>"maID", "hoverrows"=>true, "rowList"=>array(10,20,50), "footerrow"=>false, "userDataOnFooter"=>false, "grouping"=>true, "groupingView"=>array( "groupField" => array('CompanyName'), "groupColumnShow" => array(true), //show or hide area column "groupText" =>array('<b> Company Name: {0}</b>',), "groupDataSorted" => true, "groupSummary" => array(true) ) )); if(isset($_SESSION['login_admin'])) { $grid->addCol(array( "name"=>"Action", "formatter"=>"actions", "editable"=>false, "sortable"=>false, "resizable"=>false, "fixed"=>true, "width"=>60, "formatoptions"=>array("keys"=>true), "search"=>false ), "first"); } // Change some property of the field(s) $grid->setColProperty("CompanyID", array("label"=>"ID","hidden"=>true,"width"=>30,"editable"=>false,"editoptions"=>array("readonly"=>"readonly"))); $grid->setColProperty("CompanyName", array("label"=>"Company Name","hidden"=>true,"editable"=>false,"width"=>150,"align"=>"center","fixed"=>true)); $grid->setColProperty("CompanyCode", array("label"=>"Company Code","hidden"=>true,"width"=>50,"align"=>"center")); $grid->setColProperty("OrderCode", array("label"=>"Order Code","width"=>110,"editable"=>false,"align"=>"center","fixed"=>true)); $grid->setColProperty("maID", array("hidden"=>true)); $grid->setColProperty("System", array("width"=>150,"fixed"=>true,"align"=>"center")); $grid->setColProperty("Type", array("width"=>280,"fixed"=>true)); $grid->setColProperty("Status", array("width"=>70,"align"=>"center","edittype"=>"select","editoptions"=>array("value"=>"Yes:Yes;No:No"),"fixed"=>true)); $grid->setSelect('System', "SELECT DISTINCT System, System AS System FROM master_ma_system ORDER BY System", false, true, true, array(""=>"All")); $grid->setSelect('Type', "SELECT DISTINCT Type, Type AS Type FROM master_ma_type ORDER BY Type", false, true, true, array(""=>"All")); $grid->setColProperty("StartDate", array("label"=>"Start Date","width"=>120,"align"=>"center","fixed"=>true, "formatter"=>"date", "formatoptions"=>array("srcformat"=>"Y-m-d H:i:s","newformat"=>"d M Y") )); // this is only in this case since the orderdate is set as date time $grid->setUserTime("d M Y"); $grid->setUserDate("d M Y"); $grid->setDatepicker("StartDate",array("buttonOnly"=>false)); $grid->datearray = array('StartDate'); $grid->setColProperty("EndDate", array("label"=>"End Date","width"=>120,"align"=>"center","fixed"=>true, "formatter"=>"date", "formatoptions"=>array("srcformat"=>"Y-m-d H:i:s","newformat"=>"d M Y") )); // this is only in this case since the orderdate is set as date time $grid->setUserTime("d M Y"); $grid->setUserDate("d M Y"); $grid->setDatepicker("EndDate",array("buttonOnly"=>false)); $grid->datearray = array('EndDate'); $grid->setColProperty("Date", array("label"=>"Order Date","width"=>100,"editable"=>false,"align"=>"center","fixed"=>true, "formatter"=>"date", "formatoptions"=>array("srcformat"=>"Y-m-d H:i:s","newformat"=>"d M Y") )); // this is only in this case since the orderdate is set as date time $grid->setUserTime("d M Y"); $grid->setUserDate("d M Y"); $grid->setDatepicker("Date",array("buttonOnly"=>false)); $grid->datearray = array('Date'); // This command is executed after edit $maID = jqGridUtils::GetParam('maID'); $Status = jqGridUtils::GetParam('Status'); $StartDate = jqGridUtils::GetParam('StartDate'); $EndDate = jqGridUtils::GetParam('EndDate'); $Type = jqGridUtils::GetParam('Type'); // This command is executed immediatley after edit occur. $grid->setAfterCrudAction('edit', "UPDATE maintenance_agreement SET m.Status=?, m.StartDate=?, m.EndDate=?, m.Type=?   • Update/Increment a single column on multiple rows at once

    - by Jordan Feldstein
I'm trying to add rows to a column, keeping the order of the newest column set to one, and all other rows counting up from there. In this case, I add a new row with order=0, then use this query to update all the rows by one. "UPDATE favorits SET order = order+1" However, what happens is that all the rows are updated to the same value. I get a stack of favorites, all with order 6 for example, when it should be one with 1, the next with 2 and so on. How do I update these rows in a way that orders them the way they should be? Thanks, ~Jordan

  • MySQL Connect Only 10 Days Away - Focus on InnoDB Sessions

    - by Bertrand Matthelié
Time flies and MySQL Connect is only 10 days away! You can check out the full program here as well as in the September edition of the MySQL newsletter. Mat recently blogged about the MySQL Cluster sessions you’ll have the opportunity to attend, and below are those focused on InnoDB. Remember you can plan your schedule with Schedule Builder. Saturday, 1.00 pm, Room Golden Gate 3: 10 Things You Should Know About InnoDB—Calvin Sun, Oracle InnoDB is the default storage engine for Oracle’s MySQL as of MySQL Release 5.5. It provides the standard ACID-compliant transactions, row-level locking, multiversion concurrency control, and referential integrity. InnoDB also implements several innovative technologies to improve its performance and reliability. This presentation gives a brief history of InnoDB; its main features; and some recent enhancements for better performance, scalability, and availability. Saturday, 5.30 pm, Room Golden Gate 4: Demystified MySQL/InnoDB Performance Tuning—Dimitri Kravtchuk, Oracle This session covers performance tuning with MySQL and the InnoDB storage engine for MySQL and explains the main improvements made in MySQL Release 5.5 and Release 5.6. Which setting for which workload? Which value will be better for my system? How can I avoid potential bottlenecks from the beginning? Do I need a purge thread? Is it true that InnoDB doesn't need thread concurrency anymore? These and many other questions are asked by DBAs and developers. Things are changing quickly and constantly, and there is no “silver bullet.” But understanding the configuration setting’s impact is already a huge step in performance improvement. Bring your ideas and problems to share them with others—the discussion is open, just moderated by a speaker. Sunday, 10.15 am, Room Golden Gate 4: Better Availability with InnoDB Online Operations—Calvin Sun, Oracle Many top Web properties rely on Oracle’s MySQL as a critical piece of infrastructure for serving millions of users. Database availability has become increasingly important. One way to enhance availability is to give users full access to the database during data definition language (DDL) operations. The online DDL operations in recent MySQL releases offer users the flexibility to perform schema changes while having full access to the database—that is, with minimal delay of operations on a table and without rebuilding the entire table. These enhancements provide better responsiveness and availability in busy production environments. This session covers these improvements in the InnoDB storage engine for MySQL for online DDL operations such as add index, drop foreign key, and rename column. Sunday, 11.45 am, Room Golden Gate 7: Developing High-Throughput Services with NoSQL APIs to InnoDB and MySQL Cluster—Andrew Morgan and John Duncan, Oracle Ever-increasing performance demands of Web-based services have generated significant interest in providing NoSQL access methods to MySQL (MySQL Cluster and the InnoDB storage engine of MySQL), enabling users to maintain all the advantages of their existing relational databases while providing blazing-fast performance for simple queries. Get the best of both worlds: persistence; consistency; rich SQL queries; high availability; scalability; and simple, flexible APIs and schemas for agile development. This session describes the memcached connectors and examines some use cases for how MySQL and memcached fit together in application architectures. It does the same for the newest MySQL Cluster native connector, an easy-to-use, fully asynchronous connector for Node.js. Sunday, 1.15 pm, Room Golden Gate 4: InnoDB Performance Tuning—Inaam Rana, Oracle The InnoDB storage engine has always been highly efficient and includes many unique architectural elements to ensure high performance and scalability. In MySQL 5.5 and MySQL 5.6, InnoDB includes many new features that take better advantage of recent advances in operating systems and hardware platforms than previous releases did. This session describes unique InnoDB architectural elements for performance, new features, and how to tune InnoDB to achieve better performance. Sunday, 4.15 pm, Room Golden Gate 3: InnoDB Compression for OLTP—Nizameddin Ordulu, Facebook and Inaam Rana, Oracle Data compression is an important capability of the InnoDB storage engine for Oracle’s MySQL. Compressed tables reduce the size of the database on disk, resulting in fewer reads and writes and better throughput by reducing the I/O workload. Facebook pushes the limit of InnoDB compression and has made several enhancements to InnoDB, making this technology ready for online transaction processing (OLTP). In this session, you will learn the fundamentals of InnoDB compression. You will also learn the enhancements the Facebook team has made to improve InnoDB compression, such as reducing compression failures, not logging compressed page images, and allowing changes of compression level. • How to Secure a Data Role by Multiple Business Units

    - by Elie Wazen
In this post we will see how a Role can be data secured by multiple Business Units (BUs).  Separate Data Roles are generally created for each BU if a corresponding data template generates roles on the basis of the BU dimension. The advantage of creating a policy with a rule that includes multiple BUs is that while mapping these roles in HCM Role Provisioning Rules, fewer number of entires need to be made. This could facilitate maintenance for enterprises with a large number of Business Units. Note: The example below applies as well if the securing entity is Inventory Organization. Let us take for example the case of a user provisioned with the "Accounts Payable Manager - Vision Operations" Data Role in Fusion Applications. This user will be able to access Invoices in Vision Operations but will not be able to see Invoices in Vision Germany. Figure 1. A User with a Data Role restricting them to Data from BU: Vision Operations With the role granted above, this is what the user will see when they attempt to select Business Units while searching for AP Invoices. Figure 2.The List Of Values of Business Units is limited to single one. This is the effect of the Data Role granted to that user as can be seen in Figure 1 In order to create a data role that secures by multiple BUs,  we need to start by creating a condition that groups those Business Units we want to include in that data role. This is accomplished by creating a new condition against the BU View .  That Condition will later be used to create a data policy for our newly created Role.  The BU View is a Database resource and  is accessed from APM as seen in the search below Figure 3.Viewing a Database Resource in APM The next step is create a new condition,  in which we define a sql predicate that includes 2 BUs ( The ids below refer to Vision Operations and Vision Germany).  At this point we have simply created a standalone condition.  We have not used this condition yet, and security is therefore not affected. Figure 4. Custom Role that inherits the Purchase Order Overview Duty We are now ready to create our Data Policy.  in APM, we search for our newly Created Role and Navigate to “Find Global Policies”.  we query the Role we want to secure and navigate to view its global policies. Figure 5. The Job Role we plan on securing We can see that the role was not defined with a Data Policy . So will create one that uses the condition we created earlier.   Figure 6. Creating a New Data Policy In the General Information tab, we have to specify the DB Resource that the Security Policy applies to:  In our case this is the BU View Figure 7. Data Policy Definition - Selection of the DB Resource we will secure by In the Rules Tab, we  make the rule applicable to multiple values of the DB Resource we selected in the previous tab.  This is where we associate the condition we created against the BU view to this data policy by entering the Condition name in the Condition field Figure 8. Data Policy Rule The last step of Defining the Data Policy, consists of  explicitly selecting  the Actions that are goverened by this Data Policy.  In this case for example we select the Actions displayed below in the right pane. Once the record is saved , we are ready to use our newly secured Data Role. Figure 9. Data Policy Actions We can now see a new Data Policy associated with our Role.  Figure 10. Role is now secured by a Data Policy We now Assign that new Role to the User.  Of course this does not have to be done in OIM and can be done using a Provisioning Rule in HCM. Figure 11. Role assigned to the User who previously was granted the Vision Ops secured role. Once that user accesses the Invoices Workarea this is what they see: In the image below the LOV of Business Unit returns the two values defined in our data policy namely: Vision Operations and Vision Germany Figure 12. The List Of Values of Business Units now includes the two we included in our data policy. This is the effect of the data role granted to that user as can be seen in Figure 11

  • Monitoring your WCF Web Apis with AppFabric

    - by cibrax
The other day, Ron Jacobs made public a template in the Visual Studio Gallery for enabling monitoring capabilities to any existing WCF Http service hosted in Windows AppFabric. I thought it would be a cool idea to reuse some of that for doing the same thing on the new WCF Web Http stack. Windows AppFabric provides a dashboard that you can use to dig into some metrics about the services usage, such as number of calls, errors or information about different events during a service call. Those events not only include information about the WCF pipeline, but also custom events that any developer can inject and make sense for troubleshooting issues.      This monitoring capabilities can be enabled on any specific IIS virtual directory by using the AppFabric configuration tool or adding the following configuration sections to your existing web app, <system.serviceModel> <serviceHostingEnvironment aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true" multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" /> <diagnostics etwProviderId="3e99c707-3503-4f33-a62d-2289dfa40d41"> <endToEndTracing propagateActivity="true" messageFlowTracing="true" /> </diagnostics> <behaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name=""> <etwTracking profileName="EndToEndMonitoring Tracking Profile" /> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> </behaviors> </system.serviceModel>   <microsoft.applicationServer> <monitoring> <default enabled="true" connectionStringName="ApplicationServerMonitoringConnectionString" monitoringLevel="EndToEndMonitoring" /> </monitoring> </microsoft.applicationServer> Bad news is that none of the configuration above can be easily set on code by using the new configuration model for WCF Web stack.  A good thing is that you easily disable it in the configuration when you no longer need it, and also uses ETW, a general-purpose and high-speed tracing facility provided by the operating system (it’s part of the windows kernel). By adding that configuration section, AppFabric will start monitoring your service automatically and providing some basic event information about the service calls. You need some custom code for injecting custom events in the monitoring data. What I did here is to copy and refactor the “WCFUserEventProvider” class provided as sample in the Ron’s template to make it more TDD friendly when using IoC. I created a simple interface “ILogger” that any service (or resource) can use to inject custom events or monitoring information in the AppFabric database. public interface ILogger { bool WriteError(string name, string format, params object[] args); bool WriteWarning(string name, string format, params object[] args); bool WriteInformation(string name, string format, params object[] args); } The “WCFUserEventProvider” class implements this interface by making possible to send the events to the AppFabric monitoring database. The service or resource implementation can receive an “ILogger” as part of the constructor. [ServiceContract] [Export] public class OrderResource { IOrderRepository repository; ILogger logger;   [ImportingConstructor] public OrderResource(IOrderRepository repository, ILogger logger) { this.repository = repository; this.logger = logger; }   [WebGet(UriTemplate = "{id}")] public Order Get(string id, HttpResponseMessage response) { var order = this.repository.All.FirstOrDefault(o => o.OrderId == int.Parse(id, CultureInfo.InvariantCulture)); if (order == null) { response.StatusCode = HttpStatusCode.NotFound; response.Content = new StringContent("Order not found"); }   this.logger.WriteInformation("Order Requested", "Order Id {0}", id);   return order; } } The example above uses “MEF” as IoC for injecting a repository and the logger implementation into the service. You can also see how the logger is used to write an information event in the monitoring database. The following image illustrates how the custom event is injected and the information becomes available for any user in the dashboard. An issue that you might run into and I hope the WCF and AppFabric teams fixed soon is that any WCF service that uses friendly URLs with ASP.NET routing does not get listed as a available service in the WCF services tab in the AppFabric console. The complete example is available to download from here.

  • Difference b/w putting condition in JOIN clause versus WHERE clause

    - by user244953
Suppose I have 3 tables. Sales Rep Rep Code First Name Last Name Phone Email Sales Team Orders Order Number Rep Code Customer Number Order Date Order Status Customer Customer Number Name Address Phone Number I want to get a detailed report of Sales for 2010. I would be doing a join. I am interested in knowing which of the following is more efficient and why ? SELECT O.OrderNum, R.Name, C.Name FROM Order O INNER JOIN Rep R ON O.RepCode = R.RepCode INNER JOIN Customer C ON O.CustomerNumber = C.CustomerNumber WHERE O.OrderDate >= '01/01/2010' OR SELECT O.OrderNum, R.Name, C.Name FROM Order O INNER JOIN Rep R ON (O.RepCode = R.RepCode AND O.OrderDate >= '01/01/2010') INNER JOIN Customer C ON O.CustomerNumber = C.CustomerNumber

  • html select option tag closes itself due to a "/" character in the dynamic value (JSP, JSTL)

    - by saky
<select id="ordersSelect" class="drop-down" onchange="somemethod()"> <c:forEach items="${orders}" var="order" varStatus="orderStatus"> <option value="${order.id}"> ${order.publicId} </option> </c:forEach> </select> I have the above peice of code in a JSP page, that receives a list of Orders and each order has some information, the particular information that I want to display in a SELECT field is the publicId. The problem is that, on display there is only one OPTION in the SELECT and the rest of the order's publicId s are displayed as normal text below the SELECT box and not an OPTION to select. I found out that the publicId actually contains a String like A10/0001/0 and that is the character "/" is most probably causing the problem. Any solutions/suggestion/ideas?

  • sort the "rollup" in group by

    - by shantanuo
    I found that the "with rollup" option used with group by is very useful. But it does not behave with "order by" clause. Is there any way to order by the way I want as well as calculate the sub-totals? CREATE TABLE `mygroup` ( `id` int(11) default NULL, `country` varchar(100) default NULL ) ENGINE=MyISAM ; INSERT INTO `mygroup` VALUES (1,'India'),(5,'India'),(8,'India'),(18,'China'),(28,'China'),(28,'China'); mysql>select country, sum(id) from mygroup group by country with rollup; +---------+---------+ | country | sum(id) | +---------+---------+ | China | 74 | | India | 14 | | NULL | 88 | +---------+---------+ 3 rows in set (0.00 sec) mysql>select country, sum(id) as cnt from mygroup group by country order by cnt ; +---------+------+ | country | cnt | +---------+------+ | India | 14 | | China | 74 | +---------+------+ 2 rows in set (0.00 sec) mysql>select country, sum(id) as cnt from mygroup group by country with rollup order by cnt; ERROR 1221 (HY000): Incorrect usage of CUBE/ROLLUP and ORDER BY Expected Result: +---------+------+ | country | cnt | +---------+------+ | India | 14 | | China | 74 | | NULL | 88 | +---------+---------+ 3 rows in set (0.00 sec)

  • Two models, one STI and a Validation

    - by keruilin
Let's say I have two tables -- Products and Orders. For the sake of simplicity assume that only one product can be purchased at a time so there is no join table like order_items. So the relationship is that Product has many orders, and Order belongs to product. Therefore, product_id is a fk in the Order table. The product table is STI -- with the subclasses being A, B, C. When the user orders subclass Product C, two special validations must be checked on the Order model fields order_details and order_status. These two fields can be nil for all other Product subclasses (ie A and B). In other words, no validation needs to run for these two fields when a user purchases A and B. My question is: How do I write validations (perhaps custom?) in the Order model so that the Order model knows to only run the validations for the two fields -- order_details and order_status -- when Product subclass C is being saved to the orders table?

  • How to combine two sql queries?

    - by plasmuska
Hi Guys, I have a stock table and I would like to create a report that will show how often were items ordered. "stock" table: item_id | pcs | operation apples | 100 | order oranges | 50 | order apples | -100 | delivery pears | 100 | order oranges | -40 | delivery apples | 50 | order apples | 50 | delivery Basically I need to join these two queries together. A query which prints stock balances: SELECT stock.item_id, Sum(stock.pcs) AS stock_balance FROM stock GROUP BY stock.item_id; A query which prints sales statistics SELECT stock.item_id, Sum(stock.pcs) AS pcs_ordered, Count(stock.item_id) AS number_of_orders FROM stock GROUP BY stock.item_id, stock.operation HAVING stock.operation="order"; I think that some sort of JOIN would do the job but I have no idea how to glue queries together. Desired output: item_id | stock_balance | pcs_ordered | number_of_orders apples | 0 | 150 | 2 oranges | 10 | 50 | 1 pears | 100 | 100 | 1 This is just example. Maybe, I will need to add more conditions because there is more columns. Is there a universal technique of combining multiple queries together?

  • ASP.NET MVC Session usage

    - by Ben
Currently I am using ViewData or TempData for object persistance in my ASP.NET MVC application. However in a few cases where I am storing objects into ViewData through my base controller class, I am hitting the database on every request (when ViewData["whatever"] == null). It would be good to persist these into something with a longer lifespan, namely session. Similarly in an order processing pipeline, I don't want things like Order to be saved to the database on creation. I would rather populate the object in memory and then when the order gets to a certain state, save it. So it would seem that session is the best place for this? Or would you recommend that in the case of order, to retrieve the order from the database on each request, rather than using session? Thoughts, suggestions appreciated. Thanks Ben

  • Shopping Cart Database Structure

    - by Paul Atkins
Hi, I have been studying the database structure for shopping carts and notice that when storing order details the product information is repeated and stored again in the table. I was wondering what the reasoning behind this would be? Here is a small example of what i mean: Product Table product_id name desc price 1 product 1 This is product 1 27.00 Order Table order_id customer id order_total 1 3 34.99 Order Details Table order_details_id product_id product name price qty 1 1 product 1 27.00 1 So as you can see the product name and price are stored again in the order details table. Why is this? The only reason i can think of is because the product details may change after the order has been placed which may cause confusion. Is this correct? Thanks Paul

  • Should I use Enumeration or Class stereotype in UML to represent a type directory table?

    - by Ivan
Let's take 2 UML class model entities: One represents an actual Order and another represents an Orede Type. Any Order corresponds to one Type. A 2-way-naviglabe many Orders to one Type relation is meant. Order Type instances are, for example, "Request availability", "Request price", "Preorder", "Buy", "Cancel", "Request support", etc. Order Types are to be addable and editable in the resulting application. Should I model Order Type as Class or as Enumeration? From the data perspective I can't see the difference actually.

  • How to join nearly identical several queries into one?

    - by Devyn
Hi, Assume I have an order_dummy table where order_dummy_id, order_id, user_id, book_id, author_id are stored. You may complain the logic of my table but I somehow need to do it that way. I want to execute following queries. SELECT * FROM order_dummy WHERE order_id = 1 AND user_id = 1 AND book_id = 1 ORDER BY `order_dummy_id` DESC LIMIT 1 SELECT * FROM order_dummy WHERE order_id = 1 AND user_id = 1 AND book_id = 2 ORDER BY `order_dummy_id` DESC LIMIT 1 SELECT * FROM order_dummy WHERE order_id = 1 AND user_id = 1 AND book_id = 3 ORDER BY `order_dummy_id` DESC LIMIT 1 Please keep in mind that several numbers of same book is included in one order. Therefore, I list order_dummy_id by descending and limit 1 so only LATEST ORDER of A BOOK is shown. But my goal is to show other books in that way in one table. I used group by like this ... SELECT * FROM order_dummy WHERE order_id = 1 AND user_id = 1 GROUP BY book_id but it only shows order_dummy_id with ascending result. I have no idea anymore. Looking forward your kindness help!

  • Can I Use ASP.NET Wizard Control to Insert Data into Multiple Tables?

    - by SidC
Hello All, I have an ASP.NET 3.5 webforms project written in VB that involves a multi-table SQL Server insert. That is, I want the customer to input all their contact information, order details etc. into one control (thinking wizard control). Then, I want to call a stored procedure that does the insert into the respective database tables. I'm familiar and comfortable with the ASP.NET wizard control. However, all the examples I've seen in my searches pertain to inserting data into one table. Questions: 1. Given a typical order process - customer information, order information, order details - should a wizard control be used to insert data into multiple database tables? If not, what controls/workflow do you suggest? 2. I've set primary keys and indexes on my order details, orders and customers tables. Is there special stored procedure syntax to use to ensure that referential integrity is maintained through the insert process? Thanks, Sid

I have used sort() method of dictionary but it doesnt give expected result. It just sort according to alphabatical order. In expected sorting order 1st priority should be to small letter then to capital letter then to number.

  • How to create a fully qualified hyperlink to a resource dynamically?

    - by Slauma
In ASP.NET I'd like to create a link which points to a specific Uri and send this link in an email to a user, for instance something like http://www.BlaBla.com/CustomerPortal/Order/9876. I can create the second part of the Uri /CustomerPortal/Order/9876 dynamically in code-behind. My question is: How can I create the base Uri http://www.BlaBla.com without hardcoding it in my application? Basically I want to have something like: http://localhost:1234/CustomerPortal/Order/9876 (on my development machine) http://testserver/CustomerPortal/Order/9876 (on an internal test server) http://www.BlaBla.com/CustomerPortal/Order/9876 (on the production server) So is there a way to ask the server where the application is running: "Please tell me the base Uri of the application" ? Or any other way? Thank you in advance!

  • Reordering Lists like playlists in the media player

    - by CrazyBS
Hi, I have a list of items that are displayed using a ListView from a SQLCursor. The SQL table includes(as well as other things) a _id field and an order field. I use the order field to sort the list before it gets to the ListView. What I need is a widget like the MediaPlayer has in its playlist view. It allows you to click the icon and drag the item in the playlist around and put it into a new order. With that ability I can then retrieve the new order and update the SQL table with the new order. However, I am not having any luck finding any clues to help me add that functionality into my program. The question is whether I can use existing functions to help me, or do I need to manually program motion events and such until I get nearly the same functionality.

  • Sorting 2 arrays that have been added together

    - by tyler
In my app, users can create galleries that their work may or may not be in. Users have and belong to many Galleries, and each gallery has a 'creator' that is designated by the gallery's user_id field. So to get the 5 latest galleries a user is in, I can do something like: included_in = @user.galleries.order('created_at DESC').uniq.first(5) # SELECT DISTINCT "galleries".* FROM "galleries" INNER JOIN "galleries_users" ON "galleries"."id" = "galleries_users"."gallery_id" WHERE "galleries_users"."user_id" = 10 ORDER BY created_at DESC LIMIT 5 and to get the 5 latest galleries they've created, I can do: created = Gallery.where(user_id: id).order('created_at DESC').uniq.first(5) # SELECT DISTINCT "galleries".* FROM "galleries" WHERE "galleries"."user_id" = 10 ORDER BY created_at DESC LIMIT 5 I want to display these two together, so that it's the 5 latest galleries that they've created OR they're in. Something like the equivalent of: (included_in + created).order('created_at DESC').uniq.first(5) Does anyone know how to construct an efficient query or post-query loop that does this?

  • Save or update for FK relationship Sqlalchemy

    - by Alex
I've googled, but haven't been able to find the answer to this seemingly simple question. I have two relations, a customer and an order. Each order is associated to a single cusomter, and therefore has a FK relationship to the customer table. The customer relation only stores customer names, and I have set a unique constraint on the customer table barring duplicate names. Let's say I create a new order instance and set a customer for the order. Something like: order_instance.customer = Customer("customer name") When I save the order instance, SqlAlchemy will complain if a customer with this name already exists in the customer table. How do I specify to SqlAlchemy to insert into the customer table if a customer with this name doesn't already exist, or just ignore (or even update) to the customer relation? I don't really want to have to check each time if a customer with some name already exists...
