• How to construct SELinux rules for a Glassfish server

  I'm running Glassfish 3.1 on a CentOS 6 solution and by default SELinux is enabled. I have installed Sun's JDK version 1.6.0_29 on the server and extracted the Glassfish 3.1.1 to /opt/glassfish-3.1.1 with a link /opt/glassfish pointing to the latest Glassfish version. I've also created a system user named glassfish with a home directory /home/glassfish. When running with SELinux enabled I get all sorts of errors. For instance I'm not able to create the domain. I kind of like the concept of SELinux, and would like to be able to have SELinux enabled. I have the following requirements for the Glassfish server: Listening to port 8080 and 8081 Other ports 7676: JMS 8686: JMX monitoring, 4848: Admin console Forwarding from apache to Glassfish through mod_jk and port 8009 Starting OpenMQ as an separate process which listens to 7676 and it's JMX monitoring port 7776 Able to read and write files at a specified area (different from home directory) Able to use /tmp/ for temporary files I am aware of the audit2allow tool when running in permissive mode, but I struggle with understanding the rules that is generated from this tool, and thought that setting up these rule manually the first time would help me understand the SELinux rules better than the simplistic examples that I've seen so far. Can someone with SELinux experience help me form these SELinux rules with comments describing each part of the rules?

This backup contains all the data I need to back up (like MySql databases, word documents, ...)   Hello, I'm using Jquery plugin DropShadow: web site And I want to set drop shadow color manually. Color is specified in the usual manner, with a color name or hex value. The color parameter does not apply with transparent images. From documentation, so, here is my code: { ... color: "black", swap: false } It works perfect, with '#000' against 'black' it works too... But if I need shadow color, for example, red '#fff000' plugin doesn't work. I don't see any shadow. Why?

• Reverse Proxies and AJAX

  A client of ours is using IBM/Tivoli WebSEAL, a reverse-proxy server for some of their internal users. Our web application (ASP.NET 2.0) and is a fairly straightforward web/database application. Currently, our client users that are going through the WebSEAL proxy are having problems with a .NET 3rd party control. Users who are not going through the proxy have no issues. The 3rd party control is nothing more than an AJAX dynamic tree that on each click requests all the nodes for each leaf. Now our clients claim that once users click on a node in the control, the control itself freezes in such a way that they don't see anything populate. Users see "Loading..." message appear but no new activity there afterwards. They have to leave the page and go back to the original page in order to view the new nodes. I've never worked with a reverse proxy before so I have googled quite a bit on the subject even found an article on SF. IBM/Tivoli has mentioned this issue before but this is about all they mention at all. While the IBM doc is very helpful, all of our AJAX is from the 3rd party control. I've tried troubleshooting using Firebug but by not being behind the reverse proxy, I'm unable to truly replicate the problem. My question is: does anyone have experience with reverse proxies and issues with AJAX sites? How can I go about proving what the exact issue is? Currently we're negotiating remote access so assume for the greater part that I will have access to a machine that's using the WebSEAL proxy. P.S. I realize this question might teeter on the StackOverFlow/ServerFault jurisdictional debate, but I'm trying to investigate from the systems perspective. I have no experience with reverse proxies (and I'm unclear on the benefits) and little with forwarding proxies.

• How to Prevent SelectionChange a Silverlight DataGrid

  I'm using a Silverlight 3 DataGrid control and have set the SelectionMode to Extended. The DataGrid takes care of managing the extended selection for me in an almost perfect manner out of the box, but a key piece of the logic is interfering with me. I have a cell that can function as a drag and drop thumb and initiate a drag operation but users want to do a series of shift or control clicks to set a selection followed by a click and drag on one of the selected rows to initiate the drag. The problem is that the click and drag at the end of this series causes the selection to be set to only the row that was clicked. I've poked around for ways of conditionally preventing the DataGrid from changing selection, but can't seem to find anything that works. Does anyone have any ideas for preventing selection from changing?

• Static IP for dynamic IP

  I have a dynamic IP address. I would like to have a static IP, but Virgin Media don't allow static IPs for residential broadband services, even if you ask them really nicely and offer to pay for it without switching to a business tariff. I am already registered with a dynamic DNS service which is updated by my router eg me.example.com will always resolve to my dynamic IP. This is fine for some circumstances, but not if you can only enter an IP address into configuration files/hardware etc like firewalls, subversion services etc etc. Is there a way I can have a static IP address 'forwarding' to my dynamic IP? Would a possible solution involve tunnelling? Setting up a private proxy? Please note the following: I am able to buy an IP address from my web host. I have access to a webserver and I am able to create custom DNS zones. I'm happy to have a webserver running at home if necessary also. I do not wish to change broadband providers. I have zero control over the services that require the IP address entering so I cannot tackle the problem that way round (services I need to access are at work). PS I've tried googling this issue, but it is very difficult to search for as most results are related to dynamic dns (which I already have set up and isnt quite what I'm after)

  I am trying to understand Adaboost algorithm but i have some troubles. After reading about Adaboost i realized that it is a classification algorithm(somehow like neural network). But i could not know how the weak classifiers are chosen (i think they are haar-like features for face detection) and how finally the H result which is the final strong classifier can be used. I mean if i found the alpha values and compute the H ,how am i going to benefit from it as a value (one or zero) for new images. Please is there an example describes it in a perfect way? i found the plus and minus example that is found in most adaboost tutorials but i did not know how exactly hi is chosen and how to adopt the same concept on face detection. I read many papers and i had many ideas but until now my ideas are not well arranged. Thanks....

Please verify the VM successfully booted by looking at the VirtualBox GUI. Then when I subsequently try and connect using vagrant ssh or vagrant reload or similar, I get this: myterminal$ vagrant reload [default] Attempting graceful shutdown of linux... SSH connection was refused! This usually happens if the VM failed to boot properly. Some steps to try to fix this: First, try reloading your VM with `vagrant reload`, since a simple restart sometimes fixes things. If that doesn't work, destroy your VM and recreate it with a `vagrant destroy` followed by a `vagrant up`. If that doesn't work, contact a Vagrant maintainer (support channels listed on the website) for more assistance. Please help! I'm really stumped. Kind regards, Luke

• Route specific HTTP requests through pfSense OpenVPN

  Hi, to start, I have very little knowledge on routes, iptables, etc. That said, here's what I'm trying to accomplish and where I think I'm stumped: Problem: We have an external website which we recently firewalled so it only accepts traffic from our office IP addresses. This works well at the office, but doesn't work for remote access through VPN as we don't route all traffic through OpenVPN. I would rather avoid forcing everyone to route all traffic through just to accommodate this one site. Environment: Main router box is running pfSense. Em0 is internal IP, Em1 is external. Internal net is 10.23.x and VPN is 10.0.8.0/24 I believe what I need to do is add a route to the VPN server config to send all traffic to that IP over the VPN tunnel. I think that part's working, but I don't get a response back, so I'm assuming that I need some NAT config on the VPN server to route the response back over the tunnel? What I've found so far is to try the following, but since this is a pfSense box on FreeBSD, I can't run iptables, etc. Make sure ip forwarding is enabled: echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward Setup NAT back out: iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 10.0.8.0/24 -o em0 -j MASQUERADE Am I on the right path, and if so how do I accomplish this through pfSense UI or FreeBSD CLI?   A form will be spitting out an unknown number of questions to be answered. each question contains a prompt, a value field, and a unit field. The form is built at runtime in the formclass's init method. I'd like each question rendered on the form as an inline: prompt, value(input-text), units (select). this seems a case perfect for iterable form fieldsets, which could be easily styled. but since fieldsets - such as those in django-form-utils are defined as tuples, they are immutable... and I can't find a way to define them at runtime. is this possible, or perhaps another solution?

WHY? AND CAN I DO IT ON FIRST CLICK? yes i know this already happening perfect if i put first code but i want it on my function.

  Hello, I am using sphinx as a search engine on my website its working perfect and I have no complain with it. The only thing it lacks is, it does not allow me to search articles whose query length is more than 15 words. I know in reality people don't use more than 3-4 words i want to use it for finding duplicate contents. I was wondering if there is any alternative solution to sphinx. I want to cope with duplicate contents. My main articles table is in innodb but I am also caching articles into MyISAM table as well for full text searching but when I search an article it takes ages to perform one search. Its not the query problem, i think mysql lacks the fulltext searching facility. Thanks Jason

• Android XMLRPC Fault Code

  Hey, We have been using XMLRPC for android and it was working well until we got our hands dirty with Base64 encoding for byte[] (images) -- (we did base64_string.replace("/","$$") for transmission). We have tried undoing the changes and its looking an XMLRPC error. We are getting the following error in the DDMS: 06-10 23:27:02.970: DEBUG/Test(343): org.xmlrpc.android.XMLRPCFault: XMLRPC Fault: [code 0] 06-10 23:27:02.970: DEBUG/Test(343): at org.xmlrpc.android.XMLRPCClient.callEx(XMLRPCClient.java:308) 06-10 23:27:02.970: DEBUG/Test(343): at org.xmlrpc.android.XMLRPCMethod.run(XMLRPCMethod.java:33) Just before this I checked the body (xml message -- which is perfect) and the response received: 06-10 23:27:02.940: INFO/System.out(343): Response received: org.apache.http.message.BasicHttpResponse@437762f8 Since it the message is not even reaching our cloud, the issue is with XMLRPC for android. • OWC does not work with IE8

  Hi, I have a web page that is generated with Access 2003 and uses Office Web Components. It worked fine with IE6 and IE7 but does not work anymore with IE8. Here are more details. I create an MSODSC component and a WSH object to get my ConnectionString in the registry. Then the Dropdown Lists are fed by a request to the database. It works perfect with IE6 and IE7, works locally with IE8 but if the page is served by IIS to IE8, the drop down lists are empty. Can anyone help me ? Thanks Mactov

It works perfect when people logged it is its administrator or developer and it's not when isn casual user without any special role. We tried to submit our read.article action, but it was denied with that: The built-in read.article you submitted doesn't meet our requirements (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/actions/builtin/#read). Please make sure your users can remove articles they shared "within" your app on each page an article appears. Once you have made the appropriate changes please delete this action, create a new one, and submit it. As for that, our plugin users have the ability to delete their activity but Facebook doesn't allow us to make this plugin public. What should we do to make it work? Thanks a lot for your help!

I want to do something very very similar for a site I'm building. ShareThis offers a widget that does the same thing but it's branded and external. I'm looking for a pure Ruby solution. A gem containing a module that could be included in a Rails ApplicationHelper class would be perfect. Suggestions appreciated before I go reinventing the wheel!

  We have a business case that would be perfect for multiple BackgroundWorkers. As an example, we have a form with a "Save" button on it. Normally we would run all the save commands (Save is an example) synchronously and then close the form. We would like to now split the work onto separate threads using backgroundworker. We will loop through each "Save" required (could be many and/or different number of commands that need executing) creating a BackgroundWorker for each command required. The question is ... how do we wait for ALL the BackgroundWorkers to complete before we close the form. We understand how to wait for a single BackgroundWorker to complete but when we have X number of BackgroundWorkers operating, how do we wait until all are complete before closing the UI form?

• How to implement eCommerce susbscription service with multiple products

  I've been researching eCommerce payment gateways and service offerings, but I'm an eCommerce novice, so please excuse my ignorance. I wish to set up an eCommerce solution with the following requirements: User "subscribes" to the service on a yearly basis. This service includes a single product subscription for a set amount (let's say $50/yr). User can "subscribe" to additional product services for a lesser rate per year (let's say $25/yr). I will need to store a product service unique Id of some sort for each product subscription the user subscribes to in order to show them product unique information. I also need to prevent duplicates...for example, user can subscribe to product ABC and XYZ, but not 2 of ABC. Is PayPal the best solution for something like this? Is there a better solution? Any assistance is greatly appreciated, even if just links to specific tutorials or examples. Update: It looks like Chargify could be the perfect solution.

• Rails: Open HTTP URL From HTTPS site

  I have a rails application running on SSL. I also have setup Piwik (for analytics) and it is running non-secure i.e. HTTP. Here's what i did: I Made my own TreeView that implements ISelectionAdapter (not sure it's perfect) Edit AutoCompleteBox template and change the selector to my treeview Try Bind my ViewModel to it Unfortunately this is not working. i checked my new TreeView with the same binding to the same object and it works prefectly when it's outside of a AutoCompleteBox template. Any idea? any special way to implement ISelectionAdapter for treeview? did i missed something? couldn't find any example for it on the web... Thanks.

• Properly force SSL with .htaccess, no double authentication

  I'm trying to force SSL with .htaccess on a shared host. This means there I only have access to .htaccess and not the vhosts config. I know you can put a rule in the VirtualHost config file to force SSL which will be picked up there (and acted upon first), preventing double authentication, but I can't get to that. Here's the progress I've made: Config 1 This works pretty well but it does force double authentication if you visit http://site.com - once for http and then once for https. Once you are logged in, it automatically redirects http://site.com/page1.html to the https coutnerpart just fine: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on RewriteRule ^ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301] RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !(^www\.site\.com*)$ RewriteRule (.*) https://www.site.com$1 [R=301,L] AuthName "Locked" AuthUserFile "/home/.htpasswd" AuthType Basic require valid-user Config 2 If I add this to the top of the file, it works a lot better in that it will switch to SSL before prompting for the password: SSLOptions +StrictRequire SSLRequireSSL SSLRequire %{HTTP_HOST} eq "site.com" ErrorDocument 403 https://site.com It's clever how it will use the SSLRequireSSL option and the ErrorDocument403 to redirect to the secure version of the site. My only complaint is that if you try and access http://site.com/page1.html it will redirect to https://site.com/ So it is forcing SSL without a double-login, but it is not properly forwarding non-SSL resources to their SSL counterparts. Regarding the first config, Insyte mentioned "using mod_rewrite to perform a simple redirect is a bit of overkill. Use the Redirect directive instead. It's possible this may even fix your problem, as I believe mod_rewrite rules are some of the last directives to be processed, just before the file is actually grabbed from the filesystem" I have not had no such luck on finding a force-ssl config option with the redirect directive and so have been unable to test this theory.

• How to get the data for intra-day candlestick charts for stocks on eg Nasdaq

  Hi, For a learning exercise, i'm wanting to create candlestick (stock) graphs for stocks using zedgraph. Now on google finance, i can get daily open-high-low-close data which is perfect for making these graphs, but i'm wanting to create intra-day graphs, eg open-high-low-close data for an hour (or 5 mins, or 1 min even). Is there any way to get that kind of data without having to subscribe to any expensive service? I've heard opentick mentioned in an old SO question, but their site is defunct now. I was thinking of polling google finance once a minute to get the latest stock price, then with an hour's worth of 60 prices, i could then roughly calculate the open-high-low-close, but this is a bit of an estimation and i'm open to other suggestions. • some PDF's to iPhones via ActiveSync are corrupt

  we have two server applications (one .NET/ASP web app, the other a native Windows app) that generate PDF's that are then emailed to our users on Exchange 2010. the apps deliver the emails to the Exchange server via SMTP, and our iPhone/iPad users receive their email via activesync. pretty much all of the PDF's generated by the web app and many of the PDF's generated by the Windows app fail to open on an iPhone or iPad. tapping the attachment shows the screen that would display the PDF with the name of the file at the top but the bottom of the screen is completely grey. one thing i have figured out is that the attachment on the iPad is uuencoded. forwarding the attachment to another email address shows the uuencoded format. here's a sample: begin 600 unknown M)5!$1BTQ+C0-)>+CS],-"C8@,"!O8FH\/"](6S8U-B`Q-#A=+TQI;F5A<FEZ M960@,2]%(#DQ-#8O3"`Q,S`Q.2].(#$O3R`Y+U0@,3(X-3,^/@UE;F1O8FH- ---snip--- M,C8T,"`P,#`P,"!N#0IT<F%I;&5R#0H\/"]3:7IE(#8^/@T*<W1A<G1X<F5F .#0HQ,38-"B4E14]&#0H` ` end whereas the normal version of the file looks like a normal PDF: %PDF-1.4 %âãÏÓ 6 0 obj<</H[656 147]/Linearized 1/E 9698/L 13571/N 1/O 9/T 13405>> ---snip--- trailer <</Size 6>> startxref 116 %%EOF so i think the problem is that the attachment is being double uuencoded somewhere, or the iPhone is failing to recognize that the attachment is uuencoded and not decoding it. any suggestions on where to begin troubleshooting this problem?
