  Hi, i have few questions for SQL gurus in here ... Briefly this is ads management system where user can define campaigns for different countries, categories, languages. I have few questions in mind so help me with what you can. Generally i'm using ASP.NET and i want to cache all result set of certain user once he asks for statistics for the first time, this way i will avoid large round-trips to server. any help is welcomed Click here for diagram with all details you need for my questions 1.Main issue of this application is to show to the user how many clicks/impressions were and how much money he spent on campaign. What is the easiest way to get this information for him? I will also include filtering by date, date ranges and few other params in this statistics table. 2.Other issue is what happens when user will try to edit campaign. Old campaign will die this means if user set 0.01$ as campaignPPU (pay-per-unit) and next day updates it to 0.05$ all will be reset to 0.05$. 3.If you could re-design some parts of table design so it would be more flexible and easier to modify, how would you do it? • Creating dynamic text for a literal control

• Slickgrid, confirm before edit

  I am making a slick grid and need the ability to add rows with a code column. For this to be possible the code column needs to be editable for the entire table. I am trying to work out a way that I can confirm the edit with a standard javascript confirm popup box. I tried putting one into the onedit event within the slickgrid constructor and that executed after the edit. I am led to believe that the edit function is independent from calling the edit stored procedure of the database. Is there a better way to go about this? • How to organize XIB files with many overlapping elements?

  I have some XIB files which are very difficult to edit because many of the subviews overlap each other completely. For example, if I position a popup volume slider where it will pop up, it covers some UILabels which become impossible to click. My only chance to be able to edit them is to double-click on them in the Document window tree, move them aside, edit, then move them back. Sometimes there are 3 or more widgets that occupy the same location in the XIB, even though only a few are visible at a time while the application is running. How are conditionally-visible screen elements actually supposed to be organized? I would like to be able to hide groups of views to reveal what's beneath them, but I don't see a way to do that in IB. If I create UIViewControllers for every group, I can edit them in separate windows, but I can't see them in context, and I need a lot of view controllers...

• Visual Studio WCF Application now asking to manually attach to process

  I have a console app that is calling a WCF app hosted in IIS. Up until now everything has been fine and I am able to debug the app - step through it without any problems... Until I added my dev pc to a domain.... now every time I get step into the code hosted in IIS, a popup comes up asking if I would like to attach to this process... I can then continue debugging... again not a huge train smash - however... now it randomly just jumps to the end of the process (almost like some kind of timeout) and I am not able to reliably step and debug the IIS hosted code.... Any ideas? All the projects are in the same solution, and all running on the local dev pc... Using Visual Studio 2008, dev PC is Win 7

• jQuery Dialog open hides background content in IE7

  Hey all, I'm working on an application where the page layout is essentially a bunch of absolutely positioned containers. There is a header, sidebar and content area. The content area has its own header and footer which are fixed on the screen. The main part of the content area scrolls but nothing else does. So, we are using jQuery dialog for popup boxes and in IE7 with this new layout when i open a dialog the rest of my content in the background vanishes. I'm left with the page header and the footer of the content area and that's it. In Firefox and believe it or not IE6 it works fine. We are using ie7.js in ie6 though to make things not suck. Anyone have any clue why opening a dialog in jquery would screw up absolute positioning and make stuff vanish?

Step 2 On click of a button in child i'm displaying the html(viewsource) of parent window in a textbox(.net) and holding in a hidden variable hdnSource too. Step 3 I've 4 checkboxes in the child window. If the checkbox is not checked, then that part of html should be removed. eg: cbxPersonal, cbxProfessional if cbxProfessional is unchecked I should remove divProfessional from html which is in hdnSource and display in the textbox Can anyone help me to do the 3rd part of coding. Since the html is in the variable, I'm not able to find the div with document.getElementById

• Poll database using jQuery/Ajax

  Hi guys, I am trying to use jQuery (latest version) & ajax to poll a mysql db every x seconds, post.php does a simple search query on the table and limits to 1 row. (eg SELECT id FROM TABLE LIMIT 1) I've got some other jQuery UI (using v1.8) code that displays some modal/dialog boxes on the screen, simply put if post.php returns something from the db I need to initialise the dialog to pop up onto the screen. I've done all the popup stuff I am just having issues joining all these bits together - i've added some pseudo code of how i expect this to work. • Opening IProject properties when another (adaptable to IProject) object is selected

  I have a custom view displaying a hierarchy model of the current project. The root element is of class MyProject which is my own class, but it represents one Eclipse IProject, and it's adaptable to IProject. I have a "properties" menu option in the popup menu for that view, and I'd like to open up IProject's properties when a MyProject object is selected. PropertyDialogAction only looks for property pages registered for MyProject and doesn't give me a chance to offer an adapter -- or, at least, I don't know how to offer one. What's the proper solution for this? In the meantime, I've overridden PropertyDialogAction to handle my class in the special way I require, but that seems like quite a kludge to get this done.

• Visual C++: breakpoints disabled

  I have a 'release with debug info' unmanaged c++ .exe (built with VS2005) deployed onto another PC, the .exe and .pdb are in the same folder. When I try to attach to the process from VS2005, either locally or remotely from my dev PC, all my breakpoints become disabled. I don't get any warning/error popups which makes me think the PDB file is being found, but not seen as 'good'. Is that the right interpretation? I think if it couldn't see the PDB I'd get a "no debug information could be found" popup. Has anyone got any ideas what can be wrong?

• Change right-click context menu options in VS2008

  When I right-click in my class library, I get some quick options to create things, like an Item from the popup list (New Item...), a User Control, etc. E.g. Now in my web app project, I'd like to be able to get the User Control listed in the right-click menu just like Component and Class, so I don't have to click New Item... then choose it from there. Is there a way to do this in the configuration? I can't seem to figure it out in VS.

  I need to add one menu item in IE context menu. It is similar with Google customized context menu "Search Google for xxx" when you right click on IE. I did a research and found that overriding IDocHostUIHandler::ShowContextMenu in a IE BHO can customized IE context menu. The sample project can be found in Popup blocker project published in codeproject. It works well and is easy to implement. However this approach has a problem. The problem is it will conflict with other add-ons' context menu customization per MSDN. In MSDN Internet Explorer Center forum, there are some discussions about this topic. However there is not a proper implementation posted. If anybody has experience on this, please share your idea. Thanks!

• jQuery, ajax request doesn't success with JSON on IE

  I made an AJAX call and it works on FF & Chrome but not on IE 7-8-9. I checked if there is an extra comma and the content is also trimmed. See my JSON file If I put dataType: 'text', I receive the OK alert but a debug popup too. Could you help me? Regards.

• Facebook Like button - comment box with breif description and image

  On my website when the user selects the facebook like button they have the option to enter comments. This popup window to enter comments only contains the users avatar and place to enter comments. How can i include my pic and a brief description of the site directly below the comment??? At first I thought it was from the HTML title attribute or meta property="og:title" ... but populating these have no affect I have another site that contains both pic and a desc below the comment but the pic seems to be grabed at random -but always the same- from the site and the short desc I thought from the -title- attribute but its not - I changed the -title- and it still shows the same desc, its like its cached??? Any ideas how to control or populate a brief description and image within the comment section of a like button???

• ModalPopupExtender doesn't work on IE6 frame layout

  I'm using a "frame" layout similar to the one in this excellent answer: a div #top at the top of the page, a div#left on the left, and a div #main with the main content. The #top and #left divs contain navigation menus. Now I want to use a popup div using the AjaxControlToolkit ModalPopupExtender inside the content (#main) div. This works fine on IE8 (where #top, #left, #main all have position:fixed), but when I run it on IE6, the modal background only covers the #main div - I need it to cover the whole of the page including the #top and #left navigation divs. Looking at the script for ModalPopupExtender, it appears to be searching up the parent hierarchy until it finds a parent with position relative or absolute. And in the IE6 rendering, the #main div has position:absolute because position:fixed is not supported, which I guess explains what is happening. Any suggestions for the best/easiest way to get this working properly on IE6? Ideally without modifying the ModalPopupExtender code, but I'll do this if I have to and it's the best solution.

  I'm using the .net Crystal Reports viewer to display a report. This works properly, but when I click on the print option, and then click "OK" on the options popup, I get the following error: Access is denied. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Access is denied. And the same thing when I try to export. I'm running this on the Visual Studio development server, VS2008. What can I do to correct this?

• How do I bind the Overlay Tool for new Ajax elements in Jquery?

Normally, I would use something like this: $(".overlay_popup").bind("click", function(){... but this didn't work for the overlay. Any ideas on how I can successfully do this?
