• Display only file name in FileUpload control

  I have a webpage in asp.net 3.5 that uses the FileUpload control. When a user clicks on the "Browse" button (which is part of the control) the control displays a file select popup (dialog box). When the user selects the file which they wish to upload, by default the full path to the file is shown in the textbox (which is also part of the control); however, I wish for it to only display the file name and not the full path. Anyone know of a slick and easy way to do this?

• MFC: 'Gluing' two windows/dialogs together

  I'm trying to set something up so my main dialog has one or more child dialogs, and these are glued/docked to the outside of the main dialog - when the main dialog is minimised, the children are too, when main dialog moves, children move with it. I'd tried setting child dialogs as having main dialog CWnd as parent, with CHILD style. But then they get clipped by the parent's boundary. If I set them as POPUP, they can be outside but then don't move with the parent. I'm looking at putting an OnMove handler on the parent dialog, but is there something built-in? And, should child dialogs still be children of the main dialog... I assume they should? This is VS2005 (I think VS2008 has some related functionality so I mention this).

• Why does this JavaScript destroys my layout in Internet Explorer?

  I'm using a small CMS for a small site (http://www.ovlu.li/cms/). Nevertheless it works. And all other sites are also working correctly. Any hints?

• Setting Android webview initialScale prevents proper zooming

  Need: I want a webview to automatically be sized to fit the width of that particular page. I have Googled this and found several different suggestions. Most of them work. But then each of them effects zooming in / zooming out. What I'm looking for is a solution that accomplishes both. The webview is initially set to fill the screen, but then it allows the user to zoom in (with pinching) and zoom out. What I've Tried: mainView.getSettings().setLoadWithOverviewMode(true); mainView.getSettings().setUseWideViewPort(false); mainView.setScrollBarStyle(WebView.SCROLLBARS_OUTSIDE_OVERLAY); mainView.getSettings().setBuiltInZoomControls(true); mainView.getSettings().setSupportZoom(true); I have also tried setting mainView.setInitialScale(various percentages) Again, I have tried these in different orders, including some, not including others. Currently, if I use the above code and setInitialScale(65), it loads initially fine but then once you zoom in, you cannot zoom all the way back out. Does anyone know of the best practice to set initial scale to fit screen but fully allow zooming out and in? Why I Need It: I'm using a ViewFlipper in my Android app to load several webviews simultaneously. I have a touch sensor that allows sliding from left to right to switch between different webviews. The practical purpose of this is to show a grocery store's ads and allow the user to slide from page to page. The problem is that the API feed I'm using basically only allows me to load a URL for each page. So I have to use webviews.

  I'm working on displaying some text in an UIWebView on iOS. I'd like to get the content of the HTML element tapped by the user. If he taps on a paragraph for example, a popup shows the paragraph content. I'm using jQuery Mobile to achieve this. Here's what I'm doing : $('body').tap(function(e) { var tappedElement = $(e.target); alert(tappedElement.text()); }); It works for the first tap. The second tap no matter where it is, returns the same text. The event seems to be ok but the target property of the second tap is wrong. On the third tap all comes back to normal and so on ...   I am a newbie who is trying to create a Facebook app using PHP and Facebook's PHP SDK. The app is hosted on Heroku, and the sample app that they provided is working fine. However, I am now trying to get the sample app to work on Apache 2.2, and I have encountered a lot of problems along the way. Well, straight to the point, my latest problem will be trying to do Facebook login on localhost, but the 'An error occurred. Please try later' appears on the popup dialog. This does not happen on Heroku. Will someone please enlighten me on if there's any steps that I can take to overcome this error? I don't think it got to do with any coding error since I am just following the provided sample app. Thanks!

  When I code a popup menu, I can check the mouse event and then before calling show() prepare the menu. Now I want a similar functionality for drop down menus, that live in the menu bar. • Java Authenticator on a per connection basis?

  I'm building an Eclipse plugin that talks to a REST interface which uses Basic Authentication. When the authentication fails I would like to popup my plugin's settings dialog and retry. Normally I could use the static Authenticator.setDefault() to setup an authenticator for all HttpURLConnection's for this, but since I am writing a plugin I don't want to overwrite Eclipse's default Authenticator (org.eclipse.ui.internal.net.auth); I thought of setting my custom Authenticator before loading and putting Eclipse's default back afterwards, but I imagine this will cause all sorts of race issues with multithreading so I quickly lost that notion. Google searches yield all sorts of results basically telling me it's not possible: The Java URLConnection API should have a setAuthenticator(Authenticator) method for making it easier to use this class in multi-threaded context where authentication is required. Source If applications contains few third party plugins and each plugin use its own Authenticator what we should do? Each invocation of "Authenticator.setDefault()" method rewrite previously defined Authenticator... Source Are there any different approaches that might help me overcome this issue?

  I am using NameCallback and PasswordCallback for username and password.For username and password, popup comes on browser and when i enter username ans password, JAAS authenticates my request. On the wireshark, I have seen that 401 Unauthorized message (WWW-Authenticate header)comes and when i enter username/password HTTP request with credentials generate ( with Authorization header) and goes to server. My requirement : I don't want pop up to come.My application on other server having username / password, so once it received 401 then based on some logic it will generate HTTP request with Authorization header / credentials and sent it back. FLow : User - Other Server - My Tomcat5.5 Here on Other Server, nobody is available to enter username/password manually.Application is deployed and it will only generate HTTP request with credential and sent it back to tomcat. Can we have any other callback which behave like this.Need your help.Please provide me feedback as well related to approach.

  I want to create a Google Closure Compiler plugin for eclipse. I already have a popup menu entry to compile a Javascript file to its minified version. But it would be more than helpful if every time you save a *.js that minified version would be generated automatically. I read/heard about natures and builders, extension points and IResourceChangeListener. But I did not manage to figure out what I should use and especially how to get it to work. Is there a working example of a plugin that does "the same kind of thing" so I can work from that or a tutorial to write such? • Retrieving the first picture with a HTML parser

  Hey guys, (Not a native english speaker) I'm doing a personal project in PHP in which I use the Simple HTML Parser to parse the HTML of a given URL and retrieve the first image in a DIV that have a specific ID or class (maincontent, content, main, wrapper, etc. - it's all in an array) and ignore ads. The goal is to take this image and make a thumbnail with it, pretty much like on Digg and others. I thought everything was working fine until I tried my script with the website Snopes ("http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/luckycoyote.asp" <- this page more exactly). The source of the first image it gets is: " graphics/luckycoyote1.jpg ". So far, to correct this problem I created a little function that gets the domain name of the given URL and insert it before the IMG's source attribute. So for sites like Snopes.com, it gives me: "http://www.snopes.com/graphics/luckycoyote1.jpg" ... while the real URL for this image is "http://www.snopes.com*/photos/animals/graphics/luckycoyote1.jpg*" (or, more precisely: " http://graphics1.snopes.com/photos/animals/graphics/luckycoyote1.jpg " - note the subdomain here). So my main question is: how can I externally/dynamically retrieve the full URL address of an image ("absolute path") when I am only given the "relative path"? I'm pretty sure this is possible, since when I paste the link in Facebook's "What are you doing?" field for example, it gives me the correct path to the image while on the website, the source of the image is only (example) "image/photo/example.jpg". • How should I solve this MySql problem (PHP) ? (Beginner)

  I have several tables in a MySql database. I have a classifieds website, and at the bottom I display the users last visited classifieds. I do this by storing the ID:s of the ads to an array in the cookie. Now, my db is made up like this kindof: Main Table: // Stores global information, ie these fields have to be filled out in every record, never be blank ID Price category Seller Item Table: // Stores descriptive info about whats for sale ID AD_ID (FK) //This is the same as ID in the MAIN TABLE Color Size Mileage etc My problem is that I need to know what category the ad is in, in order to query mysql for the right information I think. So I need two variables, but the cookie only has one (ID) stored. Offcourse I could make two queries, first one just matching the ID to the main_table and fetch the category from the Main_table. Then make the second query and fetch all other info from the right table. Here is an example if the category was Vehicles: SELECT * FROM main_table, vehicles_table, WHERE main_table.id=$id_from_cookie AND main_table.ad_id=vehicles_table.ad_id As you can see above, I need the category to write in what table to check, right? But I think there must be a smarter way, like fetching them in one single query using only one variable (id from cookie)? How should I do this? Understand? Let me know if you need more input... • Make content 100% height with scrollbar

  I am using CKEditor (http://ckeditor.com) and I've created my own custom file browser... Problem is, when you open the filebrowser, it opens it in a new popup window and has no scrollbars. I submitted a support ticket 2 weeks ago to find out how to add the scrollbars and no answer. I can't find what to edit in the code either... So what I plan to do is make it scroll using CSS... I found this post about making the body 100% (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/886809/css-quirks-html-4-01-strict-100-body-height-and-scrollbars) but it doesn't add scrollbars. Any ideas how I can force scrollbars using CSS?

  Quite simply, I need to alert the end user when they have a new private message. From a combination of research and other opinion, I realise I need to use AJAX for this. The mysql query would be SELECT id FROM tbl_messages WHERE to_viewed = 1 So when someone sends a message, I want an alert to popup on the screen to inform the user without a page reload. • TinyMce plugin, how to copy 'Link' functionality.

  I'm creating a new plugin for TinyMce. However I cannot find any examples to see some of the functionality I've seen in other plugins. I've read their source code but I cannot find where it is done: When you click on an 'A' element, the link/unlink buttons in the taskbar become enabled. When you right click on an 'A' element, then click on the "Insert/edit link" icon that is shown in the popup menu, the "Insert/edit link" window is setup (has all the attributes for that particular link) prefilled. Could you suggest somewhere where I could learn how to do this? A file and line number is fine. Thanks in advance.
